I don't know if it truly possible to use bitcoin as a fully fledged currency at this stage but I hope it will be one day.
Things like being able to pay off your credit card with bitcoin like in Canada definitely make it more likely.

Please can you explain why this is the case.

I'm Type 2 - in that yes I would like to become wealthy but I believe in bitcoin as a global
currency that offers anonymity & less controls, so I want the currency to do well & if I can make some btc on route....

Only this year.
I needed to buy something in a country I did not reside & the only merchant selling it on the web
was one offering 10% discount with bitcoin so I bit the bullet & have been an enthusiast ever since

Don't know how you would calculate this. That's the beauty of bitcoin it can be used anonymously so
it's difficult to measure all we can say for sure are numbers are going up!

For me its :
That it has no centralised bank
That it offers anonymity
And gives more power back to the individual.

Time will tell - 99% of the people on this forum hope so. 

Hello Are you able to or know anyone who can get hold of .ac.uk email accounts?

Its so annoying. How can members do this. 
What's the deal with people selling goods and services & only offering paypal?
Can they not be removed or banned from the forum.
Surely they should have to give a bitcoin address??
