61  Economy / Speculation / Re: URGENT, Bitcoin is on the verge of collapse !!! on: February 16, 2014, 03:35:00 PM
If there was not so much FUD, I would believe Bitcoin go under 100, but now I doubt
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin bubble: An online currency stumbles on: February 06, 2014, 09:29:41 AM
yes but it is actually a preferential way for traders to take payments, so.. it should be up to those traders to get their heads together and come up with a universal solution to the problem.

It is prefrential only for the merchant.
The consumer has very little incentive to convert their fiat to btc so they can pay a fee for any transaction smaller than 0.01BTC.

It changes later when more and more people get paid for job in Bitcoins

64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Bitcoin Users Can Face Jail Time up to 15 years on: February 02, 2014, 03:30:50 PM
Central banks starts to be threatened by something better, decentralized cryptocurrencies. But I dont think society is ready for decentralized cryptocurrencies to take over centralized ones right now or in near future
65  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Associate identity to Bitcoin Address on: January 22, 2014, 02:05:20 PM
The next question is if this is a good idea at all. Once one of your addresses is connected to your persona you are easily tainting all you transactions, past, present and future.

If you use this address only on blockchain.info, and you have different account or Bitcoin client for other transactions then it doesnt matter.

If you use on webpages or forum signature Bitcoin address for donations, you obviously are trackable anyway, so why not label this Bitcoin address on blockchain.info
66  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitPay - How does it work ? on: December 23, 2013, 10:42:49 PM
Now, how come a person, with blockchain.info wallet, will pass through this part ? Nothing is happening when I am clicking the Pay with Bitcoin button, which seems is just a hyperlink to 'bitcoin:1LuYADjKVCWaVd9cuQNGffJhx4Q5rcNbdV?amount=0.0001' !!!

If you have bitcoin-qt client installed it would ask if you want send 0.0001 to 1LuYADjKVCWaVd9cuQNGffJhx4Q5rcNbdV inside bitcoin-qt

If you have just blockchain.info wallet, it would do nothing
67  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...? on: December 23, 2013, 10:28:02 PM
I think Bitcoin will rise steadily 2014. People needed the money for Christmas and new year so that's the cause of the crash in my opinion.
Unless another big news will come for bitcoin (like the US bans the use of it or something like that) it is not going to crash and be worthless.

I dont think any government can ban it unless they unplug the internet.  Its a protocol based on trust, utility and security and all 3 of those improve each day.  The key to success is that some large business's (like Baidu in China) accept it and lend some legitimacy to it.

Bitcoin can be banned, it would cripple the adoption of Bitcoin, but still some would use Bitcoin
68  Economy / Speculation / Re: It won't go up anytime soon on: December 18, 2013, 01:32:13 PM
Definitively not to 800+ levels soon.
Chinese might sell their coins so it means cheap coins for others, it is great buy opportunity. Nothing else changed
69  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Price Drop Cause? on: December 18, 2013, 01:27:08 PM
Seems China might ban buying Bitcoins, so this Christmas I will be able to buy some new cheap Bitcoins.
70  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone else bought high? Worried? Still holding strong? (I bought in at $1080) on: December 18, 2013, 01:19:36 PM
I truly believe that cryptocurrencies are the way of the future, and that in all likelihood, Bitcoin will be the one to rule all

Why do you think this? Assume, that Cryptos will be a future currency .. it will not be BTC, just because we have no "global order" and US will not accept to have no full control over their currency. Easy like that. So IF cryptos were used, each continent at least will have its own one. But actually .. looking at the current warfare against money laundry .. no .. don't believe, that big entitites will accept a cryptocoin.

There is no point of having centralized cryptocoin, banks already doing this job with online banking. And no government will be able to control decentralized currency, so there is no point creating something different than Bitcoin

Other than a paper wallet in your pocket, nothing is 'safe'. As far as websites go, these guys are one of the better places to go at the moment.

Nothing is perfectly safe anywhere.
Even your paper wallet could get lost , you might drop it , it can get soak somebody could steal it from you.
There is no perfect way in which to hold your coins , and there is no perfect way in which to hold anything of value.

This I have to agree, but paper wallets is the most secure one if done right
73  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can somebody answer my question? on: December 15, 2013, 12:09:09 AM
I have recently told my parents about Bitcoins. (They know a little about it from news ect.) And that I had bought some a few weeks back, And sold at $1100 and bought back lower, But not as low as my original buy in price, And they are mad that I didn't just hold and that I have lost a "Profit margin" Even though I've gained more bitcoins than I had.

So, I guess my question is How can I explain to them why selling high and buying low is better than just holding?

They know you was just lucky this time, the Bitcoin price could continue to rise after you sold
74  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bounce is Official on: December 09, 2013, 11:13:54 PM

Remember that if someone is going to dump 1000 coins on Gox now, we would approximately go down by 40 USD. The guy doing that would have pocketed around USD 880.000, but the Bitcoin marketcap would decrease by USD 480 Mio.

Thats why Bitcoin market cap is not usefull indication of anything, what matters are the buy orders placed
75  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens when bitcoins are lost? on: December 09, 2013, 11:03:49 PM
I've seen people say that the limit can be increased if needed, but im not sure.

Not necessary, 21 million bitcoins is enought and even if only 1 million bitcoins left (20 million bitcoins lost), it would be enought for Bitcoin to work normally
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase has my .80$ cents hostage on: December 09, 2013, 10:59:26 PM
Hey I'm kinda in the same boat.

Spent a few days racking up .0003 btc, around $.30 because I was trying to get the minimum into my btc-e account, just to test and see if it actually worked so I could put a little more in to get started, but Coinbase keeps telling me I don't have enough to send, even after the fee I'd still have .0001 btc, which is the minimum, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Do I need a little bit more?

.0001 btc is fee for 1000 bytes of data in transaction (about 5-6 Inputs), so if you received a lot of small transactions (about 15) then .0003 btc might be used for fees only
77  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should i pay tax if i receive bitcoins ? on: December 09, 2013, 10:53:50 PM
If you would have paid tax if you were paid in cash, you will have to pay tax if you get paid in Bitcoin.

What happens if you get paid with sex for your work, do you have to tax it and how much the sex is worth in dollars?
78  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the bitcoin reach $10000 one day? on: December 06, 2013, 07:12:32 PM
Yes, in 2015. Safe prediction I guess

And is Satoshi Nakamoto a Bitcoin ?
80  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...? on: December 06, 2013, 07:04:54 PM
The question needs updating to: "Will bitcoin reach $1 million one day?" Max Keiser thinks it will.

Maybe, but not anytime soon. It is tough to hold coins till $1 million anyway.
