61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I saved myself from missing a Presentation with Bitcoin on: June 12, 2022, 09:01:08 PM
2 weeks ago I was in Brussels and wanted to buy some belgian fries, but the counter only accepted cash and I had none. My card that uses euros had no balance and my n26 account wanted to charge me 10e to issue a physical card (so can't withdraw from there).

My solution was using the bitcoin atm I found next door. Sent some btc -> withdrew euros -> got my fries Smiley

Ohh Yes, Good addition, Bitcoin made it easy at some point and we need to be grateful for that.
I've seen a tweet also where a Bitcoiner tripled the amount of Bitcoin he initially wanted to pay. All because he's Barber accepted Bitcoin as a means of payment's and transactions. Using BTCmakes things go swiftly. Although at some ends, they still can't do without the local fiat. Great to hear you utilizing Bitcoin OP.

Some unexpected circumstances will really exhaust all your possible means of payment method that you know of. Just like what I read from one of the threads here where the man paid the doctor with bitcoin who gave birth to his baby. Because he ran out of options as the ATM was bit far from the hospital and had no cash. And he saw the doctor wearing BTC-shirt and asked if he's accepting BTC. So in this scenario, it is showing that you'll never know when you will have a situation that having crypto funds will be your savior. We don't know if the stories are true, but if they are, lucky for them that they have crypto ready to spend in case the situation needs it.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Its One Too Many on: June 12, 2022, 08:15:24 PM
This forum is not friendly with casino scamming because it deals with trust for people playing with their money hoping to win and be rewarded appropriately. If this agreement is not maintained, it is usually going with a red tag on the account until if it is shown cleared. This red tag is to indicate to orders the accusation on the casino for them to do more research. So an accusation on a casino will work against it for long until the doubt is cleared off.

This will give also a warning signal for potential new players of the site that they have existing unresolved complaint. Because in this forum, if you are a long-time user, you can basically identify which casinos are reputable to play with. But if you are a newbie in this forum and trying to figure out which casinos are safe to play with, you will check the trust summary or at least feedback of the casino. And reading unresolved complaint may give you a notion that the casino is not secure to send money to. Thus, it is in best interest of the casino to resolve all the complaints thrown to them, even if the amount involved is small one.
63  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Forex trades is a part of Crypto Trade? on: June 11, 2022, 11:21:00 PM
The trading system in Forex and Crypto is almost the same, the most obvious difference is the number of choices or pairs in Crypto is certainly very much compared to Forex, the other thing is a very large profit and loss opportunity compared to forex which looks very stable so it is difficult to get profit
actually i will like to concur on your contribution. Because when perusing into this two factors of trading, it's not noticable of the comparison. On your own you may think that forex trading is equivalent or is same thing to cryptocurrency trading. When you are emphasising or hitting at the risk level of losing. It's directly obvious that cryptocurrency trading get same amount of lost forex traders do get during lost of trade.

I believe, it depends on the user how much knowledge he has when it comes to forex or crypto trading. Both have the risks of losing your funds, but it is your acquired knowledge and skills that will aid you in battling those risks. But the simple difference of these 2 was posted by mk4, so the OP has basic understanding about these 2 kinds of trading. And just to elaborate further for example in crypto trading, if you are long enough in this market, you can easily spot possible ponzi scheme, pump and dump coin or scam coin. So your trading will be influenced on how deep you know a specific coin.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price and actions to raise it on: June 11, 2022, 10:45:33 PM
I think that the problem is people who do not understand that Bitcoin never was and never will be in the hands of the government. Their regulations are a farce meant to scare the common person into following orders. The more people finally understand this, the bigger global Bitcoin adoption becomes.

It's a simple matter of time. Sooner or later the government will lose control of money, especially the manipulation of the value of money. That's decentralized freedom.
I agree that government is not really "controlling" bitcoin, they are just controlling what you can do with it and how you can use it which is still a problem. If a country bans ownership of crypto all together, they are not controlling crypto like that, but at the end we are talking about them not allowing you to have anything and you would be doing something illegal if you owned any.

Not really seeing any much improvement about it at all. I have to say that there is a good case to be made about that control being even worse than directly controlling it, because there is something out there which people use if they are from another nation, and you would be committing a crime if you did.

Right now, what the government can do when it comes to crypto transactions is to limit its use by implementing laws about its usage and how to implement tax when it comes to crypto holdings. But other things happening, they don't have the control as you can easily transact without letting your government know about it. This is why some politicians are against with it because they are blind in some parts of this market. But sooner or later, the governments will just accept the fact that people will be going to this market even without their knowledge. So why not take advantage of this market like getting tax from crypto-related businesses?
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 11, 2022, 09:17:33 PM
It's easier for him to retire if he loses the fight because if he wins, it would open more opportunities for him to have big fights and that means a big payday for him, unless, he will think of his legacy and will retire with a pride, like what Mayweather and Marquez did. In the end, it still depends on the decision of GGG, he know his limit and he knows what he likes to achieve in life, so let's enjoy the trilogy as we have been asking for it.

If he will beat Canelo on this one, I am sure, he may not think of retiring yet. But who will be his next opponent other than Canelo again? So yes, this will be interesting how this match will pan out. But in this trilogy, I believe, Canelo will win. As he is coming from a loss, he has the motivation to train and prepare hard for this fight. This is to regain his status and popularity. I am thinking that bookies may slightly favor Canelo here. But let us see once bookies give their odds to this fight.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting vs Online Casino Games: Which do you prefer? on: June 10, 2022, 11:39:34 PM
Online casinos are fun, fast and easy to play whatever the game, while sports tend to think and analyze. I personally prefer both, any gambling is basically the same, looking for fun and whatever it is  dice slot card games etc there have a strategy. That don't rely only luck the surefire trick is to play casually, live sports for gamblers who want adrenaline, analysis can be more correct when you watch on live.
For the immediate result/outcome of the game it is the Casinos, whereas for the users who have good skills and good knowledge about different sports it is sports betting. My choice is casino, and sports betting happens rare during some specific cricket matches and mostly it'll be on live betting, because it gives high chance of winning. For fun it is always sports betting, because we predict and can enjoy if the outcome is according to our prediction. With casino games it is all about luck, so it won't be that enjoyable in my view.

The preference is indeed up to the gambler himself. But do take note that in casino games, you are relying on your luck, which means, you have no idea when will you win or lose. Whereas, with sportsbetting, if you are very familiar with the sports, you have high chance of winning. But yes, it does take time of waiting. In this case, it depends on you where you are comfortable of. I also bet from time to time in the sports that I am familiar with. But if you want immediate results with thrilling game, you can always play with the usual casino games. But don't expect that you will go home as a winner.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal allows users to withdraw Bitcoin to external wallets on: June 10, 2022, 10:12:02 PM
As the title says, PayPal is finally allowing their users to move their Bitcoin to their own wallets. PayPal went a long way, from getting people banned for buying Bitcoin using PayPal ( I know few people that lost their PayPal accounts due that) to now this.
Exactly the same story with Wikipedia, Wikipedia deleted their Bitcoin's page in 2010, and started accepting donations in Bitcoin in  2014 , what do we call this..? Irony of life   Grin.

Anyways, paypal deciding to come out from the hole and start allowing thier users to send and receive crypto through their platform is a welcome development, though I highly doubt alot of people are going to use it, but it's still great they made the feature available for those who really need it.

-   No additional fees to send from your Paypal account, other than the network fees (I figure the user won’t have much of a saying here, so there may be some implicit part of these fees kept by paypal if they overcharge and then send at a lower rate – my speculation).
I totally agree with you, this is something that's very common with all centralized exchanges and custodial wallets.
As long as PayPal is going to be offering a custodial crypto wallet to their users, I am 100 percent certain they are going to be keeping parts of the fees they charge their customers for network transaction fee.

It is like the same with the saying, if you can't beat them, join them. They have seen that the usage of crypto is fast multiplying, so they just swallowed their pride and accept the fact that bitcoin and crypto market will be a good addition to their services. They are now changing their approach as they have seen that crypto users won't use their platform if they can't withdraw their crypto out of their paypal wallets. Also, you won't buy from them if you are already a crypto user because you have better options. Like for example, I am a paypal user but won't buy crypto on their platform. I can directly buy it from exchanges which are offering better deals. It is good that they are changing their services for the benefit of its users.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone explain what is the value of meme coins? on: June 10, 2022, 01:42:48 PM
I am confused that there are meme coins whose prices are sky rocketing but I dont see any real value these meme coins are providing
Most meme coins experience price spikes that only last a short time and usually this will happen after a FOMO by a celebrity or public figure so some people are afraid to miss the train if they don't buy the meme coin, but once people who enter early have managed to take advantage they will throw it away with a large amount it will cause the price to go down again basically because so far there are no fundamentals of the meme coin that can help maintain its price.

The meme coin that I know which evolved to be a useful one before this meme hype, is doge. Even before this hype, doge was already used by many gambling platforms and you can find it basically in most trading platforms. I used to use this before for transfer purposes because the fees were cheap but when this meme hype took over, the fees are quite expensive as compared to other alts like LTC. With respect to other meme coins, I don't see anything valuable that can provide them longevity on this market. Once people are done with meme, they can easily die down without being noticed. So if you want to invest long-term, consider first btc and other top alts with actual usage in this community.
69  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Jay-Z and Jack Dorsey are funding a free Bitcoin education program in the US on: June 09, 2022, 11:26:27 PM
Is a 'bitcoin academy' necessary? Why the clamor to teach bitcoin all of a sudden. If someone wants to learn about bitcoin, there are a plethora of materials on the internet to get started already, and if that person is curious enough, then they will find out about bitcointalk forum and register here, and the learning process continues, people who sincerely want to learn about bitcoin, always find out about this forum in one way or another.

Bitcoin academy and its courses to me feels like pulling uninterested people to learn about bitcoin because of celebrities are in charge of it, and they sense they can gain something from it; everything to learn about bitcoin is on the internet, and from there you find bitcointalk.

Some people want to hear it from known personalities in this market. Remember, not all people have the initiatives to look for resources that they can use to advance their knowledge in this market. It is free education, why not? If they can attract noncrypto users, wouldn't it be good for this market? You are right, the resources out there are just waiting to be tapped but some people need motivation why they need to get interested in this market.
70  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Brand Name Vs Site Functionality? Or Both? on: June 09, 2022, 10:07:39 PM
While it is true that out of the two functionality will always come up on top of an attractive name, we cannot deny it is better to have both of them.

If you have a good casino but with an uninspired name it would be difficult to promote it, however if you have a good casino and a good name as well that is when you can make even more money as the name of the casino will easily remain in the minds of your potential customers, and they will decide to play at your casino over other similar options due to the fact they remember your casino, while they forgot about other similar casinos which did not left a strong impression on them.
Are there rules that in order to promote a gambling site, you must have a good name first? I believe none but everyone is welcome to get their brands promoted. What only matters there is the money. If you have a lot of money then your gambling site will be promoted almost everywhere and many people will get curious about it and they will start playing.

If you have a good functionality, they can stick to it. That is where you can make more money even if the other one which is the name is not available. Your gambling site will still remain on the players' mind because there is no any other place as that, where they feel contented.

Brand name is for me also a secondary concern for the gambling site owners. If you will be generous with rewards, promos and marketing campaigns, people will notice you and talk about your site. And then, they will keep on playing if they are happy and satisfied about your services and other functionalities. And if the team is very active in resolving complaints or issues, it will be a big plus as well for the site. Because players don't want to wait in vain if they have issues. They want it to resolve fast as much as possible particularly withdrawals.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin thrives on education and self-sovereignty on: June 09, 2022, 08:28:07 PM
Yes, it's true, the government's role in this matter is important, because after all when the government has legalized bitcoin it will make it easier for bitcoin to reach in any way. But of course it will take a very long time to wait for that time to come. Although now many have adopted bitcoin, but currently there are still many who oppose the existence of bitcoin. It became a stumbling block to the development of bitcoin itself.
the pros and cons of using bitcoin will always be there. there are many parties who try to support and continue to develop bitcoin to be more perfect, but there are some people who continue to oppose it for various reasons. Each government has its own regulations on how they use bitcoin so the government can control bitcoin but not completely. Governments that are starting to adopt bitcoin are those who are starting to realize the importance of bitcoin in the future for the development of their country. Let's see who else will start adopting bitcoin.

In every new technology, there will always be people who are against with it, so it is no surprise why some people or organization are rallying about bitcoin or crypto in general. It would take time before they will accept it, and it needs time to educate them about this new technology. It is just a matter of time before they will realize that they are getting behind from this kind of developments in technology. And from that moment, they may rush getting into this market. Let us see...
72  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto exit strategies on: June 08, 2022, 09:57:10 PM
When the market looks stagnant as it is now of course many want to get out and replace it with another type of investment, if we sell all assets now and the result is a profit then this is not a problem, but if we sell at a loss then the best thing is to be patient and wait, I'm sure the market will rise again soon.
In times like this, don't be in a hurry to make a decision by selling,
after all this is not the right time to sell because there is a high probability that it will make a loss,
it's true you need to be patient and keep doing the analysis

But if you decide to hold, better keep up with the updates of the coin that you are holding. Because if the development has been stagnant and no more movement, better doubt its longevity. Because more than likely, the dev team will abandon the project if they have no more updates in their project. They are just waiting for the trading to die down and silently get away from their failed project.  The survival of the project depends entirely on the team, how they will achieve their objectives, if ever they are sincere with their goals to begin with.
73  Economy / Gambling / Re: Neodice.com ⚡️ | Daily bonuses |Licensed in UK | 4,59 BTC Jackpot! 💲 on: June 08, 2022, 09:21:20 PM
I don't see the license is mention UK in the location, the license code is GLH-OCCHKTW0701192022 [1] and when I search on google, there's a site with Russian language [2] named club-vulkan.com is there any relation with your site?

Asking the users to complete the KYC after deposit or withdraw with aggregate 500 Euro, while you're offering 4,59 BTC jackpot or worth of 130263 Euro sounds like a joke. You're seems to suspect accounts deposit or withdraw with aggregate 500 Euro will abuse your casino, while it's just a small money for most gamblers.

[1] https://licensing.gaming-curacao.com/validator/?lh=20372f300ae47e01547a8c8bcff9c438&rlh=c2bb8c73d83bd061078577c56d53e273
[2] https://topigr-777.ru/topcasino/kazino-vulcan-igrovye-avtomaty

Maybe, the OP needs to rectify his title thread, because their license is Curacao not in UK. Also, most casinos asking for KYC will only require if the accumulated deposits or withdrawals is about 2k euros. Here, you will undergo KYC if you accumulated 500 euros, seems small to ask KYC. Anyway, they can modify their limits here because with this limitation, some players won't play on their site because of this requirement. As a new dice site, they need to attract all levels of players. And hopefully, the OP will come back and address some valid concerns.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your opinions about fan tokens? I'm thinking to invest in them on: June 08, 2022, 08:47:55 PM
Generally, when promoting fan tokens, shares were made, such as don't buy for investment purposes, buy for fan interaction. In particular, Socios CEO Alex Dreyfus even produced a slogan like "don't buy if you're not a fan".

This I believe is a good piece of advice coming from the Socios CEO itself. Because if you are not indeed a fan, you may not find other use cases for the fan token. And you may miss some news or updates if you are just holding it. But if you are a fan, owning of those fan tokens will have a different meaning to you. And you will look for their activities that you can really benefit by using their fan tokens. Don't just invest just because of the possible profit, but because you are following this club and looking forward to their events. This will give more value to what you are holding.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs seized by police on: June 08, 2022, 08:05:12 PM

Which means, now crypto and NFTs are treated as a "normal" assets.

Lol! It's hilarious to see this statement!

Digital assets are normal since a long time now, especially in the western countries. This is not the first instance where cryptos have been seized by police as criminal proceed. Probably that's the first case for NFT.

NFT market is flooded with money launderers. I mean NFT is the best thing ever happened in the money laundering world after privacy focused cryptocurrencies. Otherwise a JPG shouldn't get sold for millions. It's an utter nonsense!

I believe their authorities have done their homework, hence, even the NFT has been seized. They have their own reasons why they took it. But yes, seizure of digital assets is not new anymore. But maybe, one of the firsts for NFT. Their police force should be very familiar how NFT works, because if not, how could they seize it and assess its value? They may have been following the transactions of this person, and checking it in the market.
76  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook |250k$ Easter giveaway | VIP | on: June 07, 2022, 10:45:28 PM
For the boxing fans out there, Inoue and Donaire's match is tomorrow and it's on duelbits. Check the tab/site for the odds.
https://duelbits.com/sportsbook/boxing
It was 4.90 a few hours ago for Donaire but it's now 4.80. Aside from that there are also other matches that will happen tomorrow for boxing. Check it guys for your own choices to bet.

The odds is very one-sided and worthy the risk if you are an underdog bettor. I believe duelbits will have a special promotion for this match before the match start since many fans will watch this exciting rematch.
Yeah, it's because Inoue is the champ and Donaire is just another challenger again. The match is about to happen within a few hours so, whether with or without promotion, everyone should take their bets before it starts.

I might put a small bet to Donaire as support but I'm not expecting much that he will win since he is too old compared to Inoue which is currently at prime. This maybe the final fight of Donaire if he lose again to Inoue since he is waiting for so long just to have this sweet revenge.
Good luck with that, with most of the discussions that I've been with, majority is counting on Donaire but we will see then in just a few hours.

This rematch is a unification fight. Both are champions with Inoue's WBA and IBF belts on the line while Donaire has the WBC title.

Odds are as high as 5.20 now for Donaire. Donaire is a huge underdog because he is already old and is past his prime. He do have the power though that remains as threat to any bantamweights. So far, only Inoue was able to survive Donaire's power and not after being shaken and blooded. And only Donaire was able to hurt Inoue so far, once branded as invincible and unbeatable.

Sadly, Donaire lost to Inoue after TKO in 2nd round. I believe, Donaire will be thinking of hanging the gloves now. I do place bet on Donaire but only small one as I thought he can do this time around. But Inoue is prepared for this fight. Bookies are right this time with their odds. We will see what's next for Donaire, another fight or retirement. But for Inoue, I believe he has very good future ahead of him.
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: Future prospects for bitcoin on: June 07, 2022, 10:12:49 PM
Don't worry about the future of bitcoin, I'm sure the bitcoin trend is still good, the increasing number of countries that open legal tenders is a strong indication that users will increase significantly, besides that the number of global companies that continue to develop bitcoin is the reason that we deserve to hold bitcoin for the long term .

The increasing number of stakeholders in bitcoin market is telling us that they do believe in the future of this industry. Because if they don't, they won't waste their resources to be in this market. But take note, bitcoin may have future, but most alts won't. Because a lot of them will be abandoned by their respective developers as they collect their retirement money from gullible investors. And if you do believe that bitcoin has good future, as early as now, you are thinking on how to increase your btc portfolio to reap the benefits that it may entail in the future.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's talk about your next crypto portfolio for 2025 on: June 07, 2022, 09:34:03 PM
Waiting until 2025 is too long. I won't wait until that date. I'm already an impatient person and also I don't think the new bull season will last until 2025. Maybe we can experience a short and fast bull season. EOS (5%), SOL (10%), BNB (15%), Ethereum (20%), Bitcoin (35%), USD (15%). I will create a portfolio like this approximately, because I need to build a solid portfolio. And If a short bull season doesn't start, the major coins I trust won't worry me too much. Because I can hold them for long periods of time.

That is right, 2025 is too long when it comes to crypto market. If I will wait that long, maybe, I only have confidence to store my coins in BTC only. Even top alts, you need to be cautious as they can easily exit the market if the team behind it decide to cash out their share. By the way, in your list, you have EOS, do you really think EOS has better future? It seemed they have been surpassed by new networks like MATIC, SOL or BSC.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Started the First Bitcoin Book Club in my City on: June 07, 2022, 08:41:35 PM
I appreciate your efforts for bringing some of your friends together to organise a bitcoin club in your city . Bitcoin club will bring more awareness about bitcoin despite that the government has placed a ban on bitcoin transactions in bank in your city. I know for sure the club will educate people more about bitcoin,  if you don't mind I would like if you and your friends can put beginners through who want are willing to buy bitcoin on how  to get a reliable p2p exchange since the government has ban banks from cryptocurrency exchanges that people used to hope on.

The initiative is great as their club may grow as other people will be interested to know about bitcoin and crypto from a physical person. The experience is different if you are talking to an actual person rather than reading all articles about crypto. They will give you first-hand experience and how to do things in proper way. For sure, later on, for some who can get a hold of some crypto, they can have their small p2p exchange because at some point they will deal also with their local fiat.
Let's see if their club will grow 6 months, a year down the road. Can the OP update about their club, maybe after couple of months so we know if there will be progress on their group?
80  Economy / Economics / Re: Who will Replace Russian Gas Supplies to Europe? on: June 06, 2022, 10:40:00 PM
Germany is planning to build LNG terminals on their territory to replace the supply of russian gas demanded by the country and maybe will be able to export part of the production to another countries. That is a necessary measure that is advancing fastly in the political sphere in order to execute the project sooner as possible, because Europe is in a hurry. I hope their plans work until a definitive solution can be found, since it's not possible to rely on LNG forever, since it's a finite source of energy (non-sustainable). Besides this disadvantage, another one is the fact LNG terminals are expensive to be built, so a huge investment is needed, but I guess it's not an issue at all for european bureaucrats.

If the plan works as expected, dependance on russian gas will decrease from 55% to 10% by 2024.
LNG revolution: Germany’s plan to wean itself off Russian gas takes shape
Not only Germany, every country have made plans of creating renewable energy production, but this can't be made to happen in a short. For the immediate need it is must to depend on the oil wealthy country. It looks like Russia have profited more than 20% out of oil amidst the war. Germany made some requests to Middle East countries to increase the supply, and they weren't able to fulfill as the natural gas terminals isn't available. Not this is getting fast phase construction. Following Germany more countries will do it.

This for me is a good outcome of this war, because countries which are heavily relying on Russian gas are now thinking of alternative options for them. In the very near future, Russia will see that many of these countries are now self-sufficient. This will also tap the resources of the country itself, which are not yet optimized. At least, it will give them the edge in the oil market. I hope Russia will realize soon enough that this war won't be giving benefits on them.
