No, I really hate pump-marketing! What I want is just let people know that there is an alternative to Ethereum/ Ripple / Dash etc.
Just tell them "Hey, we have the better and more secure technology" that's it! Most of the people in the crypto world still don't know anything about NEM.
Look at the big crypto-youtubers, they are treating NEM as it were invisible. They always talking about the Top 10 crypto coins but ignoring NEM completely.
NEM is still so unappreciated, it is unbelievable, and it is really hurting every day more and more by watching other coins getting the attention which NEM would deserve!
I'll guess that it's going to be purely business focused which means they'll advertise in places no crypto buyer ever, ever looks. Hence I don't believe it'll have any effect on the price in the short term. They've consistently shown zero interest in pandering to the normal crypto market. I don't see them changing now. Ethereum got much hype from the ICO bubble and it will end one day very badly as all of the ICO's will fail together with all investments. Vitalik acts like a genius who probably he is but he must spend more time on coding instead of talking bullshit. I think that it is good for NEM to be silent as all hype projects will fail and then will be the time to re-enter market safely.
When the ICO bubble will burst the whole market will crash, not only Ethereum! I am not a Ethereum holder, but I am sure that Ethereum will still play a huge role in the market! Not because they are soo good, just because they are popular...look at Bitcoin, the crypto world is not rational! A lot of those subscribers on IOTA are paid for, if you notice and go to NEW postings you will see the amount of complaints they get but they are drowned out from reaching their front page. Instead you see very shady marketing tactics so IOTA's problems are not known to those barely finding out about the coin.
IOTA is not the only one to use such manipulation tactics, bitcointalk has recently been getting attacked by a botnet posting nonsense.
Be wary of these projects that claim to do the impossible.
It is not only IOTA, any other top 10 coin has more reddit readers. And I don't think that it is all manipulated, it seems like there is a relation to the trading volume! |

Guys, I remember that Long said that NEM will order a big marketing agency next year! Do you guys know where I got this from, or was it a dream!  And yes, we need marketing urgently! We are still wasting time, the market is growing so fast at the moment, but NEM is fading into darkness. We are maybe losing a unique opportunity! I don't understand why NEM can't do simple basic advertisement? Do some advertisement in cointelegraph or Google, Facebook, whatever... Just to let people know that we are alive! If you're expecting their marketing to produce a pump you're probably going to be disappointed. It's likely to be a continuation of the real world courting of businesses. They are marketing i believe but mainly to businesses through various talks. There is also the weekly youtube videos which are very good but not published very much. I agree though that more should be done on the public side of things as brand awareness is so important. Look at Eth and the way they got attention. There is no point in having the best tech if no one knows about it. The crypto scene moves very fast and every platform is fighting for attention. Nem needs to fight also. I agree! The NEM team is talking about the big community grow in the last months, but this get's ridiculous when you compare it to other coins. Just take a look at IOTA, they are in the market for about 6 months now! They have over 30,000 reddit readers, NEM has 7,700 !! what the hell is going on? I am sorry to say this, but this is a shame for NEM! I am really a huge fan of NEM and will not sell one XEM, but we have to be honest and try to solve the problems which are obvious! |

Don't worry NEM will deliver soon, we can expect NEM at 1$ in 2018 and after CATAPULT upgrade to main net oh boy hold on tight.
It is not easy to be a NEMber in these times :/ Still no big exchange(yes, I know the reason  ) and no adoption in finance. But 2018 will be amazing, the NEM team has prepared everything to make it happen! |

I don't really think there is such a thing as an XEM market. There is a Bitcoin market. There is an alt market. Many alts are still weak and news, especially good news which is never immediate, won't have any effect. Seems to be very true. I saw this video with Richard Heart where he said that this market is completely irrational. Good news and delivery of technology milestones don't matter, which is completely weird. And it's the same for every single alt. Nothing special to XEM. NEM had no big news, I think that is the reason. Catapult is still not out yet, again no big news... I think we have to be patient till Catapult will be out for the public chain or till some big business things will happen. But I also don't understand the price movement of XEM  Everytime when there is a big pump it gets dumped very hard! Maby I am wrong but I don't see the same reaction so much on other altcoins! Any idea where these big dumps coming from?? |

Ripple is another Crypto which is near the same price as NEM, and has more than 4x circulating supply, yet their volume is 10x higher than NEM. Ripple has more exposure in the mainstream press and has big names behind it, hence more confidence from big investors.
There's always been something abnormal about the freakily low volume. I don't know what the cause is but plenty of shite that's multiple factors smaller is regularly 10x or more even during quiet periods. Mining obviously accounts for a lot of that, but even non mineable stuff outranks it. The near constant lack of volume is a huge turn off to traders. You can only make proper moves when it has its one annual epic pump and dump. As far as I know, the volume is not low, it is just unknown, because the exchange Zaif doesn't publish their volumes. So at the end nobody knows how high the volume of NEM is except Zaif, but this is of course not a good advertisement for NEM! The question is, why Zaif do not publish their trading volume!?! Trading volume is published, you can also check it at Cryptocurrency Market Capture >> https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/nem/#marketsVolume traded at Zaif is excluded because of no trading fee. thx! But why did Alexandra said, that the volume is so low because Zaif doesn't publish their volume!? Just looking at the price drops of some of the alts since their peak, it seems like the decreases are around the same percentages:
ETC: 888,000 sats at peak in June, now 143000 sats - approx 84% decrease
ETH - 15,000,000 sats at peak in June, now at 4,000,000 sats - approx 73% decrease
NEO: 1,000,000 sats at peak in Aug, now 300,000 sats - approx 70% decrease
Monero: 3,000,000 sats at peak in Sep now 1,000,000 sats - approx 67% decrease
Dash: 10,000,000 sats at peak in Mar, now at 3,600,000 sats - approx 64% decrease
Ripple 20,000 sats at peak in May, now at 2600 sats - approx 87% decrease
NEM - 12,000 sats at peak in May, now at 2300 sats - approx 80% decrease
All alts seems to be dropping at this time with the exception of BTC, BCH and BCC.
According to the BTC you are right, but when you take look at the US Dollar then NEM / NEO / Ripple are the big losers! Many things has to be changed on NEM (especially marketing,exchanges, community), we need more stable members and not so many gamblers. But the NEM team are going to change these problems, we have to be patient... |

Hi all. How much do you think NEM will cost for the new year? Satoshi and cents?
I guess XEMUSD at the turn of the year will land in few cents area (3 to 6 cents), XEMBTC - in area 500-1500sat (with Bitcoin price somwhere in range of 4000-6000$ after climbing to 7000-8000 and massive correction). I can be wrong if NEM Foundation has some good news behind the belt, but i dont think so. Deep correction after big gains in case of XEM is repeating pattern for his trading pairs. In other words, when Bitcoin is still in bull mode, XEMUSD produce sideways moves with tendency to little fading (around 20cents). But after the end of this wave in case of BTCUSD, there should be deeper correction, and slaughter on the alts, especially on those dont have good fundamental news. I remember about SegWit2x of course, that case can cause Bitcoin's problems to sustain his upward move (now this move is fueled mainly by speculators collecting BTC to get Bitcoin2x). After SegWit2x fork we can see deep volatility in BTCUSD, and wild volatility (with deep flash crashes in price) for example in XEMUSD and XEMBTC. So the price of few cents and 1000sat or lower can be of course reached in one massive, shortlived dump, after that return even to 10cents+ area and than could be fading to few cents. So keeping some Fiat (JPY) on ZAIF and pending orders (3-7JPY) could be very profitable i think. In Spring/late Spring of 2018 however i see the price of XEM @new ATH (1$ or higher) and Bitcoin around 10000$ or higher. So in the nearest future (let's say December 2017 and January 2018) is good time to accumulate XEMs for good returns further in the next year. The cheaper, the better. 3-6 cents? I don't think so: -Catapult release this year -first time in a Korean exchange next month -it seems like bitflyer will add NEM to their exchange -COMSA will start directly with some ICO's -Japan is the biggest crypto market and NEM is very popular in Japan If the whole market will crash we might see 15-10 cents. For 3-6 cents we must be in a bubble right now and I don't think that we have a bubble. -it seems like bitflyer will add NEM to their exchange. this rumor...... The question is, why they shouldn't do it!? Bitflyer is the biggest exchange in Japan and NEM the most popular altcoin. It is obvious that they will add NEM imo. And yes, till now it is just a rumor, but even without bitflyer the price will not dump to 3-6 cents. |
