Hello everyone, thanks for your patience. It's been a very hectic and exciting time for our UR team around the globe. Here are some updates: UR MONEY APP The last adjustments are being made to the app now. We are hoping to submit this afternoon to Apple and Google for review and reveal it in the next couple of days. APP PRE-REGISTRATION Pre-registration is happening right now on our website, and the pre-registrations are growing exponentially. 2600+ users from 81 different countries have pre-registered so far. If you haven't pre-registered yourself and you'd like to, you can do so here: https://ur.international/?r=zXnDQUR FOR MINERS Miners continue to find a ready market for their UR. In the last 24 hours, over 90,000 UR have been sold on Cryptopia, and UR has the 3rd highest 24 hour volume in terms of BTC at the present time. The price of UR has fluctuated but has continued to generally climb in BTC price despite the increasing BTC valuation over the last few days. We are very happy that our miners are doing well. UR block rewards will increase dramatically once the app is finally launched, since there is a 7 UR bonus for each new signup represented in each block. YOUR QUESTIONS We are going to try and keep up with the many great questions you've posed here, on slack, on twitter, and by email. Thanks in advance for your patience. UR team

I see the block reward is still seven. No one taken the plunge yet or is it still in beta and new users don't count?

Regarding the block reward amount: The reward is 7 plus 7x number of new signups in that block. The UR Money app is required for new signups, and it hasn't yet been cleared by Apple. We are hoping this takes place as soon as today, but it could take longer. There are many users who have pre-registered to get the UR Money app when it releases, so, on that day and moving forward, block rewards will increase dramatically. UR Team

The difficulty is adjusting to achieve an average block time of 15 secs. Here's what is happening right now: Blocks 73931 - 73936 Avg. Block Time: 18.67 sec 5 distinct miners won those 6 blocks. So it looks like there are a good mix of miners and that the block time is in line. Also, the number of miners has increased over the past 3-4 days as the price for UR has increased between 500% and 1800% on the exchange. They are selling UR and there seems to be a healthy early market. Another indication of interest in UR: UR is ranked 2nd out of 100+ currencies in terms of trade volume on Cryptopia (a small exchange). It has been in the top spots for 4 days. We hope to see these trends continue, of course. UR team

UPDATE: the debugging for the beta release of the UR Money app is almost complete. You can now begin signing up to be a beta tester and referring people to earn UR. The referral system is now on our website at https://ur.international/?r=xZfInFor the 104 beta testers already signed up: There is no need to re-refer people you have already referred to the beta test. Your UR earnings are saved and will be added to your wallet once you download the app when it's released. If you would like to refer additional users pls. use the referral system on the https://ur.international/?r=xZfIn website. For new beta testers who want to start building up UR referral earnings: Pls enter "UR team" in the space marked "Who referred you". Pls. make sure that anyone you refer uses an automated referral code generated by the system on the website AND, preferably, includes your name, twitter or bitcointalk handle in the "who referred you" section so that we can make sure you get all the UR that is coming to you. Users from any country are free to register for the beta and reserve a spot in line. However, the UR Money app will be released first in the USA. We may make changes to this online form going forward so that we capture information we need to insure that people are entered into the referral chain properly.

Hi what's total supply and how many premine and pow blocks ?
Coin Spec Premine: 7 coins Block Reward: The block reward is divided into two parts: a Miner Reward and an Airdrop Reward. The Miner Reward consists of 7 * ( n + 1 ) UR, where n is the number of newly signed up users whose identity has been certified within the current block by the Identity Authority. I couldn't find a total supply, there might not be one. Dev, the download links on UR homepage are broken. 1. Links are now fixed. Thanks for the heads-up 2. The total supply is based on the number of economic actors (humans) who prove their identities and choose to join the community... so it's not pre-determined. This is one of the major innovations of UR that helps solve deflationary or inflationary tendencies of other currencies. See announcement above for more detail and https://ur.international/2016/10/17/how-does-the-ur-airdrop-work/ for more information.

Dev, the console cheat sheet you have has some issues:
Console Cheat Sheet
BlockHeight == ur.blockNumber nodeinfo == admin.nodeInfo peers == admin.peers addnode == admin.addPeer("enode://nodekey:ipaddress@port") send tx == ur.sendTransaction({from:ur.accounts[0], to:"0x…007", value: web3.toWei(1, "UR")}) getBalance == web3.fromWei(ur.getBalance(ur.coinbase), "UR") Peercount == net.peerCount
Get balance and send tx don't work with "UR" but work with "wei" or "ether"
UPDATE: We will fix this problem soon to support "ur" instead of "ether". In the meantime, please use "ether" instead of "ur" when calling toWei() and fromWei()

thanks for the heads up... we are investigating and will get back to you with an update

WoW so fast, i thinked u will do it in a month, not so fast, because i didn't mine enough coins) Yes, we're pleased to be listed so quickly. Thanks cryptopia!

After creating an account, I used the address to setEtherBase. Then I ran miner.start(). It says true. Is it enough to start mining?
Then How can I now move to mainnet.
And Congrats for the launch.
Thank you! Yes, "true" means you've started to mine. To switch to mainnet, just call gur without the networkid or bootnodes params. You may want to join a pool to actually get blocks. You could try http://ur.acc-pool.pw/

Devnet chain is downloading and working. Running ./ gur attach opens the console. And admin.peers show one peer. ./gur attach with argument shows fatal error. How can I start mining. When I try to miner.start(2); I get Cannot start mining without etherbase address: etherbase address must be explicitly specified at web3.js:3120:20 at web3.js:6024:15 at web3.js:4996:36 at <anonymous>:1:1
Ok, you're making progress. gur works exactly like Ethereum's geth. You need to specify the urbase (aka 'etherbase'). In the console, you can run miner.setEtherbase("0x123...") and on the command line you can use or You will need to create an account first and use it's address in place of the "123" above.

Do I need to run with the devnet? I just run ./gur --jitvm=false. No other commands. I now get I1018 18:21:55.681748 ethdb/database.go:82] Alloted 128MB cache and 1024 file handles to /home/test/.ur/chaindata Fatal: Could not open database: resource temporarily unavailable
What else I need to configure before running? Ok, first I suggest you start over by removing all the contents of the UR data directory (should be in %APPDATA%\UR). Next, to run against devnet, try this: gur --jitvm=false --networkid 1003 --bootnodes enode://fcf730cf678d6296ffa75a1b2c06aa07d9558788762d0bbefbc209ccbfb4e840f7dcfc2f7a188eb2e65056d989de3722df3fc4df286eb3690d4586992c1c6d82@138.197.138.155:19595,enode://d846b3c0445b7a91cfeb56fbeaece55ca9e559a6e5810cc41c54e2b88790fa7a24444508f16eb983630da1367ab73a6db1b705cc36134d9e61a2df070284d3f4@138.197.138.202:19595
Please let me know how that works.

My old ubuntu got crashed. I'm going build a new one. I will try with your instructions. Are you prepared for the mainnet?
Yes, we are prepared. Launching in 2 hours.

From my new ubuntu, I downloaded the compiler linux version and when I run, I got this. I1018 17:57:33.487473 cmd/utils/flags.go:711] You're one of the lucky few that will try out the JIT VM (random). If you get a consensus failure please be so kind to report this incident with the block hash that failed. You can switch to the regular VM by setting --jitvm=false I1018 17:57:33.487620 ethdb/database.go:82] Alloted 128MB cache and 1024 file handles to /home/test/.ur/chaindata Fatal: Could not open database: resource temporarily unavailable
What is this? Or what to do to run? Can you try running it with --jitvm=false ? Also, are you running with the devnet options? Can you send me the full command you are running with all the command-line options?

Interesting. Another reason that I should finally upgrade my flip phone. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) congratulations ,you got a new cellphone. Not yet. I'm still trying to bring myself to spending the extra money. However, my flip phone is starting to become a joke that I tell to my friends. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Now back on topic. OP, this Airdrop distribution fund. Will it be an automated function of the blockchain, or will human actors be in total control of the fund? I just want to know what measures will be taken that would prevent human actors from distributing a substantial portion of the funds to themselves, dump and move on. I know that it will be transparent. But a fast move by a bad actor can take a matter of minutes and not give time for the community to react. Edit: I see that the OP answers this question. Sort of. Q: How do we know the UFF Funds won’t be dumped on an exchange? A: The UFF funds will be trackable through publicly auditable addresses and announced transactions.
But will this be enforceable by a well written smart contract? Some other function of the blockchain? Otherwise, it involves us absolutely trusting the individual(s) who have control of the private keys for the addresses of the fund. If can't understand how the dev can use a well written smart contract to secure the UFF Funds without trusting some humans in control of multi-sig private keys. If the dev decides who those humans will be there's the risk he could collude with them to dump the UFF Funds. UFF fund transfers will be announced on the UR.technology website to users who 1. publicly identify themselves and 2. their UR addresses. The process is not governed by a smart contract, but is nevertheless publicly verifiable. So we have to trust you not to dump all the UFF Funds, and the only reassurance we have that you won't dump is an address you will publish containing those funds? If you choose to dump 99.9% of people won't notice for hours. INCENTIVES: No, we don't recommend that you trust anyone or any entity until they've earned your trust. Instead, you should trust incentives. What would be the greater incentive for UR Technology? Dumping on an exchange to get a short-term windfall, but undermining the entire currency in a matter of hours? OR, being truly transparent in order to enjoy the long-term economic and intrinsically satisfying benefits of supporting the currency? You are free to decide. Either way, your interests may be served by becoming an early adopter. Those people (miners and everyday users) inclined not to trust will likely decide to sell their UR as quickly as they can. Those who are on board with the project will decide their interests are better served by staying the course and even buying the doubters' UR at a bargain price. Either way, it makes sense to be an early adopter--to mine and collect referral rewards. You don't have to trust us yet--TRUST INCENTIVES.
