61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: November 08, 2016, 02:44:42 AM
Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?

There is the possibility Bitcoin may be replaced, especially if the quantity is lost on dead addresses.  However, in the current use of Bitcoin, there are still the matter of projects using Bitcoin as a foundation for development.  Projects that create a positive image can also leave Bitcoin valuable support to how the public can have more use to cryptocurrency.  History of Bitcoin and what has been accomplished will still be there if it does get replaced.
62  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: November 08, 2016, 02:34:27 AM
The crypto world can become unpredictable sometimes, making our choices of investing into it, a very limited one. From scams to ponzis, there have been many losses from investors, yet making it very difficult to find a reliable investment.

But on the bright side, you could still invest into assets and commodities with your crypto like Gold and Silver. Then, if done right you could profit along the way with a good strategy.

As for me, I only decide to invest into gold (by exchanging BTC to Gold) and into some NXT and BURST assets.

What would be your investment strategy? Please share your tips, advice, or any good strategy you would use to safeguard your crypto investments.  Smiley

For me I evaluate the project's white paper and consider how much time and effort is placed into the timeline.  Sometimes the highly valued projects might drop initially with the possible fear, uncertainty, or doubt.  However, I like to engage an interaction with the dev teams to see what their vision is for their project and in some way can it support Bitcoin's growth along with their innovation.  There will be plenty of risks for investors, possibly ponzis schemes, but I would consider using funds that I am comfortable to let go for such an investment rather than using emergency funds or pulling equity from my own home.  Taking lessons from classes may be irrelevant to the actual experience where failure is a way to learn to succeed.

what happened with this coin? What cause price to rise?

Do your research and be surprised. We need to build a solid floor before Polo notices it

I think polo is well aware of this coin, just a matter of when  Roll Eyes
I definitely have a feeling there may be more information put out to the future announcements especially from last weekend conference, commits from Nicolas & Dan, elevation of value, and plenty of room for tidbits of surprises. Smiley  One of the projects to keep watch during 2017 due to a variety of factors causing the rise along side Bitcoin.

Just made it an new all time high Cheesy.

Honoured!
I am speechless. That was cool.

Now you can dump.  Cheesy

Lol I don't sell Stratis, maybe a few when it's $1.

don't gonna touch it till it will be 10 usd per one. i mean till april 17'
The Stratis seeds still have more time to grow till each token blossoms with more effort behind the scenes towards the timeline and beyond the project cycle.  If something is brewing with the Microsoft Azure project, there is a possible dramatic change within today to 2020...in the positive direction.
65  Economy / Economics / Re: Best October Investments on: November 07, 2016, 07:50:37 PM
Maybe bitcoin ends 2016 with a bang like 1k usd?  Grin Grin Also I am a monero believer. They are way better than zcash in my own opinion.

By the way I am tempted to invest some in Ark ICO since i have few funds left for the November 18 Wings DAO ICO.
Zcash is just a hype, the faster it rise the faster it falls. If I were to choose between monero and Zcash, I will not hesitate to back with monero, it's a  the best project so far next to bitcoin, the price is low now so I guess it's time to buy for the believers.

I totally agree, even though I never liked Monero it seems to be doing really well and is very underpriced. I actually bought some XMR last week. I wouldn't invest in Zcash now, maybe a few months later once the price is around $10.

In due time zcash will drop to a more reasonable price.  If you have an account the viral exchange, you can earn free incent loyalty tokens, $Strat, BTC, Viral Points, & Blitzcash for retweets, likes, and other social media actions.  I usually wait after ICO since values may drop due to "P&D" tokens.  Then again I am looking for projects that have potential for long term investments.
66  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safe wallet for a newbie on: November 07, 2016, 07:38:39 PM
The first wallet I tried was a paper wallet, had it lost in a washer...but I had a few backup private keys kept in certain locations to retrieve for the worst case scenario.  Xapo & Coinbase seems like a choice to start but eventually there is concern of personal insecurity of not having your own coins.  Maybe a few wallets that allow you to keep the private keys and phrases would be a step up from being a beginner.  For altcoin, using wallets that come from the main source seems more appropriate.
67  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are illegal aliens allowed to vote in the us elections? on: November 07, 2016, 07:28:57 PM
Illegal immigrants are not allowed to vote in the US elections. It is against the law, just like if a legal citizen voted more than once is, and if caught, they will be arrested and charged with a crime. That being said, it is probably happening in many states that have possible voter fraud, since you do not even have to show an ID to vote. All that is asked upon you is your name and signature, which is a completely absurd and wrong system, and could easily be taken advantage of.

I agree with you, illegal immigrants that did not pay for the proper documentation nor have tax taken from a social security number should not be able to vote.  It would be like someone that has no shares to a company allowed to vote in the decisions made in an investors meeting.  If it was the case, it would also mean illegal immigration are obligated to jury duty.
68  Economy / Economics / Re: Why You Should Never Sell Your Bitcoins Ever on: November 07, 2016, 07:18:31 PM
i think BTC price can reach 1000 dollar or more because of its acceptance in the market. and people using it

It seems to me that the price of Bitcoin will be higher than $ 1,000. I would not sell their Bitcoins in the next 5 - 10 years. But I do not rule out that I will have to do it for some needs

it is true that in another 5 - 10 years the bitcoin will be more higher then what today is , but it is also clear that we are earning bitcoin to meet of daily expenses needs and full fill our desires so i think who are having another income source they can keep saving the bitcoins what they are earning but like me who are earning for their daily life earnings which i have to convert it to meet my daily expenses need.

I have been planning to use funds that I can easily let go to acquire my bitcoins.  My situation has been mostly working quite a odd jobs to pay off most of my debts.  What's left is a mortgage and few utilities but saving the Bitcoin is something personal in which I can one day have something to pass down to my kids.  If you ever watch Donald Duck, he had a special dime to remind him why he was committed to retaining his estate.  The feeling of having the Bitcoin is a reminder to me why I had to have all my debts in order with an emergency fund.  Bitcoin would have a more sentimental value worth keeping.

Calm before storm? So quite here, simply bump it.

check the stratis slack. it's not so calm there =) a lot of good news and stratis team is on schedule.
I am really looking forward to the next set of announcements.  Freya and Dan represented Stratis at the Blockchain money conference over the weekend and seems to be some good information may be put out from the event soon.  I definitely stratis team is on schedule and seems like marketing might be on it's way after the Cloud Stratis beta release.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I use Bitcoin ??? on: November 07, 2016, 01:36:40 AM
In this time most of the currencies are here,so why i use Bitcoin? what you feel the different between Bitcoin and the other currencies?
Bitcoin seems to have an established atmosphere and a foundation in which other currencies are supporting the use for project development.  In a way Bitcoin is like the standard measurement used to exchange support for projects and implement representation similar to how gold was back prior to the Depression of 1930s.

Very awesome figure of stratis, I will buy more and hold stratis like I do with bitcoin, it is extremely potential great platform.

I agree, it seems like something good cooking in the background that will improve the market cap in the upcoming month.  I usually read posts but after reading a lot about this project through the white paper and interact with the dev team on slack, the excitement increase to see the platform succeed.  Smiley

Stratis to be the next extremely profitable crypto project?

This is one of the most interesting projects in crypto space right now. Look where are we now - using standard QT wallet, no real features that would diversify this coin from many others released yet. If with nothing yet released STRAT can have market cap of 5 million USD, then imagine what will happen when things from the roadmap will start to be getting delivered. Remember we are at 5 million USD with literally NOTHING fresh released. Yes, we have great dev team, but imagine market cap when they actualy start delivering what thay have promised. Short term goals are:

- Cloud Stratis Beta Announcement in November
- Cloud Stratis Beta release in November
- NStratis Full Node Framework and Bitcoin Full Node Framework in December
- Cloud Stratis out of beta in December - Stratis private Chains in December
- Stratis Consultancy launch in January
- Full Stratis Documentation in January
- Example code and apps in January
- Stratis Development Portal in January
- Release of NStratis on Microsoft's .NET core, in January
- Fiat gateways in January
- Lite wallets and mobile apps in January
- Libraries in March

I've recently posted this infographic in HEAT's thread (which, BTW, is another interesting crypto project). How high will Stratis go from now short term? x3? x4? x5? And how high will it go long term? That's impossible to predict, but baseless hype aside, I believe current prices will be laughable when actual product gets released.

That is a good diagram and as you mentioned coming from no features, the market cap is a good indication of a great ROI if we look into it as a long term project.  Thank you for the infograph, the team has been active and looking forward soon to see the next goal achieved by this month, Cloud Stratis Beta and release.

Geez. And I thought it was going down for real.

 Roll Eyes

Nah Stratis will be higher in the next two months . Look at the roadmap and it is fitting towards usability in a Microsoft brand environment . Just recently stratis is being hosted in Azure, an arm of Microsoft that deals with storage solution.

Stratis will be no.1 project in 2017, let us see, and it is already the best one in 2016, steady rising daily.

Looking forward to the project, Stratis has potential as a longterm investment.  Stratis also has a supportive community on Slack, you can get a better understanding on the project while interacting with other investors and the Stratis team.
