61  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Are HD-accounts and "conventional/non-changing addresses at the same time possib on: July 31, 2017, 03:04:47 PM
Thank you very much for the feedback!

-> (Take note of the warning about needing to do backups)
Is this also the case for HD-accounts (my idea was that with the initial 12 word backup seeds everything in the future should be includes as well)?

Thank's a lot!

Joe
62  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Are HD-accounts and "conventional/non-changing addresses at the same time possib on: July 26, 2017, 02:51:21 PM
Hello forum

Are HD-accounts and "conventional/non-changing addresses at the same time possible in Mycelium?

Thank's a lot

Joe

PS
I have to admit that - after having the possibility of having a HD-account - which does solve the "problems"
with "Change Addresses", i could not see yet the advantage of a conventional/non-changing address anymore :-)

63  Bitcoin / Mycelium / return change to paper wallet on: July 21, 2017, 02:21:54 PM
Hello forum

I intend to sweep (only) a part* of my bitcoin funds from an ATM paper wallet to Mycelium:-)

Does Mycelium automatically return change back to my original paper wallet?

Thank's a lot!

Joe

PS
I do understand that in a first step all my funds are "removed" from the paper wallet.

65  Bitcoin / Mycelium / sweep fun paper wallet to a virgin Mycelium wallet (add HD-account recommended?) on: July 19, 2017, 02:12:42 PM
Hello forum

after installing Mycelium I would like to sweep bitcoins from ATM paper wallet to my Mycelium wallet :-)

Should I first generate a HD-account before importing bitcoins to Mycelium (the goal is to be able to backup
all (future) changing addresses with a single master seed (12 random words)) ?

Thank's a lot

66  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: generate new address in Mycelium (for Bitcoin-Mixer forward address) on: June 22, 2017, 03:46:02 PM
Thank you for the feedback!

1.
Does that mean, all Bitcoins sent to my former Bitcoin-addresse(s), Mycelium does automatically transfer them to my actual Bitcoin-address?

2.
And what, if in the meantime my Bitcoin address did change 30 times. Does that still work?

Thank's a lot for any clarification!

67  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: generate new address in Mycelium (for Bitcoin-Mixer forward address) on: May 20, 2017, 12:54:22 PM
You don't need to do anything special to get an address from Mycellium (or most other wallets). Every time you use an address, it generates another automatically.
Hmm i dont understand that.... If a mixer should send me back my funds, i need to define a NEW return-address in that mixer.
I am new to Bitcoin/Mycellium. What is the best approach to generate such a new address Mycellium?

Also, I don't think it is helpful to use a mixer in most cases.
Why? from the point of security or from the point of usability?

Thank you very much`!

68  Other / Beginners & Help / 12 word BIP39 backup: backup of private Keys still needed? on: May 11, 2017, 03:39:05 PM
Hello forum

i heard that a 12 word BIP39 backup (like implemented in Mycelium and Trezor) is ok as backup.

But are there cases where a backup of the private keys are still recommended?

Thank you very much in advance!

69  Bitcoin / Mycelium / generate new address in Mycelium (for Bitcoin-Mixer forward address) on: May 11, 2017, 03:32:38 PM
Hello Forum

I bought a small amount of Bitcoins (0.03) on an ATM with $ (via a Paperwallet). Now I heard, that it is adviseable to use a mixer.

It's very likely that i will select Mycellium as wallet. What is the best approach, to generate a new BTC-address in order
to get my Bitcoins sent back to a new address in Mycellium?

Thank you for your feedback!

70  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Multi sig transaction with Mycelium on: April 25, 2017, 03:54:33 PM
Hello

we are contemplating about paying an infrastructure-builder/contractor in a developing country with Bitcoins (if accepted).
The idea is to have a local NGO check the work and if they are done properly, to sign the transaction (by that NGO).

We don't know how reliable this NGO is, and what would happen with our BTC's, if that NGO would lost it's private key...

Questions:

- Is for that purpose a lightweight multi-signature wallet required? Or could Mycelium be used with it's feature called "Secret Sharing Split Keys".

- How should a private key for a multi-sig transaction/address be handed over to the 3th party?

Any feedback is appreciated very much. Thank you!

Joe

71  Other / Beginners & Help / paper-wallet questions on: April 10, 2017, 04:14:36 PM
Hello

I bought two times Bitcoins (for 100$ and 100$) on an ATM (but i did not yet deceide which wallet software to use/install... but probably Mycellium)

The first time the paper wallet with Spend/Private Key QR and Load/Public Key QR was printed out without even inserting the money into the ATM machine, after feeding the ATM with 100$ a  "Buy Crypto Receipt" was printed out.

The second time i inserted the 100$ into the ATM,  only the paper wallet with Spend/Private Key QR and Load/Public Key QR was printed out BUT without "Buy Crypto Receipt" .... :-(

Questions:
- Why a paper wallet is printet out without feeding the ATM with Fiat Money?

- why after the 2 purchase, no  "Buy Crypto Receipt" was printed out? Are my 100$ lost?

Thank you for every feedback in advance!

72  Other / Beginners & Help / does installing a new bitcoin-wallet version with ABD-sideload overwrite my BTCs on: March 23, 2017, 04:54:15 PM
Hello forum

I am a fan of installing APK's with ADB-sideload (and not from Google-Play) :-) My intention is to install Mycellium as my first wallet.

Question
What will happen with my BTC-funds if a new version of Mycellium is beeing installed, again with ADB-sideload? Are they "overwitten"
if the wallet in not backed-up before and restored after the installation of the new version of the wallet?

Thank you in advance for any feedback!

Joe

PS
I do know that many things would be much more comfortable using Play.
73  Other / Beginners & Help / IPv4-search on blockchain.info what does that mean ? on: March 18, 2017, 02:43:00 PM
Hello

under blockchain.info it seems to be possible to search for IPv4-addresses...

Does that mean, IPv4-addresses are stored in the blockchain? What kind of IPv4-addresses are that?

Thank's a lot for any feedback!

75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / how to show my boss how a BTC-transaction does work on: March 02, 2017, 06:30:39 PM
Hello

My boss wants me(I am a absolute BTC-novice too:-) to show him how a Bitcoin-transaction does work...
Since he is not yet ready to install a wallet-software on this phone, my idea is, to install a second wallet
on my smart-phone, in order to be able to send some funds between my two different wallets.

My questions:
1.
Is that technically possible?

2.
Is that a good idea, or are there not more creative scenarions to show him some basic stuff?

Thank you very much in advance for every feedback!

Joe

77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 2 Factor Auth wallets (2FA) on: February 22, 2017, 06:31:35 PM
Hello Forum

when i try to find out more about 2fa-wallets, i am very often directed to websites which are offering online-wallets.

- Is there no other way to receive the second factor?

- what kind of frauds do such 2fa-wallets try to prevent?

Thank you very much for every feedback!
