Anybody knows how do scammers achieve sending email from Bitmain domain?

Bitmain's domain isn't "bitmaintech", plain sight obvious.Making a non " @gmail/@yahoo" email is quite simple. Ex. I have an email account trashcan@randomace.tk where the spam goes. And the hacker just bought a domain that sounds like the original, then he made an email account using that domain. Example: bitmain.com, the hacker bought bitmaintech.com then he created webmaster@bitmaintech.com as the fake administrator email account to scam noobs. This makes sense because the first one they sent to me was from nrply@bitmaintech.com. Then they changed it. They also had my old address on the email. So whatever they have in data is not particularly "current" it would seem. They didnt spam my new bitmain account, so it seems true that they only have older customer details, i remember this hack last year, it was ridiculous that it happened in the first place, they make a killing yet they cant protect customer data. |

Hyperthetically and unlikely, but if u fail to sell all your cards ( the farm doesnt decide to buy the remaining cards and small buyers dont fill your order) , does the deal still go ahead? Bitmain was not hacked. They sold your details.
Awhile ago they did have a security issue, they told everyone to change passwords / enable authentication. That data they got must be these emails. |

Received same email, but never opened attachment, very convincing, except for the 74-79th bit lol Wouldnt be surprised if bitmain name the new sha256 miner a s12 or 13 cause of this fraud.

The problem is with this list is it can cherry pick certain variables. For instance the d9 and s11 were 6800-7200 and 3200-3500 this time last month. The a5 was 10k and the a9 will prob be 5k on aug batch. Now put that into your calculations. The depreciation on asics from batch to batch is a major factor that makes asics risky. Gpu s dont do that.

All Linux based mining OSs run perfect with the Octominer motherboard. We will try running some Xiling FPGA cards on them next week. I will post the results here. Sweet |

I am not sure why, but one of my boards works for 30m - 3H after a restart and then moves at 100 GH/s from 700 GH/s. Anyone facing the same issue?
Theres a bad firmware going around, it steals your hashes. Update or refresh from their site. I noticed a similar hashrate issue today, was only getting 1.5th consistenty pool side, refreshed and switched pools, fine now. |

Woah but sales price at $9,999 makes no sense. I guess it is on a lower number node? This reminds me of the ant D3 miner. The ant Z9 is a ant D3 and the inno A9 is a dash A5. The A5 Dash was sold for 10k and buyers got it few months later instead of on time. The ant D3 was shipped fast but so many were sold that no one broke even....
I hope u guys think hard here.
That is exactly what looks like it about to happen here. The D3 nightmare all over again. Only people that might make it out with their skin is the first batch, and that is a big maybe if you ask me.... At least these use less power, that might not make it as bad, and hopefully at least some d3 buyers have learnt their lesson. |

If they sell enough to crash eth mining. It will crash gpu mining.
Why would they sell to crash gpu mining? This is one thing bitmain wont make a huge dint in, unless they sold a massive amount at $800, which i doubt, these arent selling out , with good reason. Its more likely the equilhash miners will crash gpu mining. |

worst case scenario we have the birds (x16s x16r algo) Current equil asics , future eth asics and fpga's with cn7 and small alts will push a lot of gpus onto the birds and other coins, there may be many to mine but can those coins still be decently profitable once the hashrate shifts, especially if they are low hashrate coins, not likely unfortunately. Researching new coins to mine may have paid off in the past, but eventually more people will be researching to find those profits, and the whole market will flatten out. |
