Very interesting how there’s zero information on how to mine it...

I wasn't going to say anything... but mining this coin is like mining every other coin.
It's SOP.

Plus what you said:
 made a list of the advantages that this currency has to offer:

It allows the inventor and his friends to premine it overnight
?
?
?

Umm... there was no premine... anyone who knows how to solo mine would have been mining it right away.
I have mined quite a few blocks since I read the initial forum post.

Well then disregard my posting. I’m just getting rejects and no blocks. I assume the difficulty is so low that whoever has the lowest latency to the network gets his block accepted first, and the ones with higher latency just get nothing but rejects.
(please correct me if I’m wrong?)

i get only stales?

I get 99.9985% rejects (literally — 3 accepted shares out of 2000, the rest was rejected). Wallet shows 3 transactions in the overview, but no coins and no transactions in the actual tab.

cgminer showed a difficulty of 16 earlier, now its down to 15. Go figure. I’m going back to PPC and take this as an example of how to not launch an altcoin.

Is this the bronze to bitcoin?  Cheesy

PPC is bronze. This here is I don't know. What innovation does it offer?

I made a list of the advantages that this currency has to offer:

What port?

locate appdata/roaming/featerhcoin..

create feathercoin.conf

Add this info
server=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=miner
rpcpassword=SetSomeRandomPassword
rpcport=8100
port=8101

If you are going to mine with more miners on your network you need to add rpcallowip=*.*.*.*

If you got a Radeon 7970 you can use this cgminer command:
cgminer --scrypt -u miner -p SetSomeRandomPassword -o 127.0.0.1:8100 --worksize 256 -g 2 -I 13 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1400 --shaders 2048

I did that and 99.9% of my stuff is rejected. is that normal?

Malware warning in Chrome when I tried to download the GUI file. Just saying.

Can anyone comment on using PCI-E risers?

I just implemented a third card on a rig using a riser - and the card in the third slot that is on the riser is only getting like 350k/H - where the other 7950 in directly in slots 1/2 are getting 550k/H.

Can riser lower hashrate that much?  Also the card with the riser won't let me set fan speed in cgminer?

Check if the riser is seated correctly.

I had an issue with one card showing erratic behavior (sometimes not detected on reboot, "DEAD" in cgminer at stock settings, overall lower hash rates than the other identical cards on risers) until I firmly reseated the riser.
69  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DIY PCB with AVALON - [Proposed BOM V1] on: April 16, 2013, 05:01:56 PM
I read its one 1 mh/s per mhz, so ~250 to 300 mh/s per chip.

I’m interested, but I’m worried about the shipping from Switzerland. Tax and customs from CH always gave me hell.
Would it be possible to pick up the order in Switzerland?

I’m declaring interest for 100 chips
71  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Can I mod a (16x to 16x riser) into a (1x to a 16x)? on: April 16, 2013, 03:04:39 PM
Thanks

Yes, I did that just fine. My board wouldn’t detect the card in Slot #2 when Slot #1 had all 16 lanes active.

I carefully ripped the unnecessary cables off the 16x riser’s solder pads, made extra sure there was no shortcut anywhere and converted it into a 16x -> 4x riser that way. The second card was detected and the machine mines just fine now.

Is there a wallet app for PPC that works with the latest Mac OS X 10.8.3?
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Pool] Coinotron - LTC pool RBPPS = 2% fee, only 15 confirmations !!! on: April 14, 2013, 11:16:26 PM
Is there anything that can be done about the 520 required confirmations for PPC RBPPS?

It’s extremely annoying to have to wait so long, but 12% fees for PPS aren’t exactly acceptable either.

12% is just to encourage people to use RBPPS.
PPC blocks are confirmed by design after 520 conf. That imposes on pool operator need to create buffer for ca 400 000 PPC (520*800PPC)
You must agree that this is quite big figure. So I'm doing my best to decrease buffer size as much as I can.

That is quite frustrating too. Not a big figure, but I’d still like to make use of this pump and dump... but can’t.

My PPC balance exceeded the payout threshold  but no payout. By the way, how could I manually withdraw my PPC? Thanks.

Your overall balance (total rewards) or confirmed balance (confirmed rewards)? I’ve found that coinotron pays out very quick once the rewards are confirmed, but that takes quite some time.
PPC RBPPS requires 520 confirmations before the payout happens.

finally got my 3x7950.

....voltage locked.

FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU

3 cards pulling 1kw = omfg.

Yikes, I’d definitely send them back. My rig with four Sapphire 7950s pulls 940W and that’s using an i5 730 at default clock/voltage and two different PSUs.

 Reason i went with sapphires. Load values here are during game play which requires more wattage than mining, no?

I think Sapphires undervolt slightly by default, which would explain the lower Wattage. I have to agree that Sapphire 7950s are the best cards out there right now. Good price, good cooling capacity and not voltage locked.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 10, 2013, 12:24:17 PM
Difficulty will be through the roof by the time these guys can ship. Avalon Gen2 will probably arrive by then. There’s no word on who will provide the chips.

My guess is that they are just harvesting email addresses and personal information, although I am not sure for which purpose.

Do you use powered risers? Or do those cards come with 8pin power connector?

No to both. It works fine for me, very stable. If the motherboard dies, so be it... I would probably have thrown it away anyway.
80  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: $324000 per day on: April 09, 2013, 10:37:33 AM
Buy as main BTC as possible while waiting ASICs second gen to order as soon as its announced. It will be a gamble, but the reward will be much higher

Buying BTC at $130 is a huge gamble and unrealistic for a most people.  If I had the money to invest considerably in BTC at the current prices, I'd pony up for an existing ASIC.  But, as it stands, the mtgox price is down 2% already.

I think the takeaway for me is, I should have got into mining earlier and/or bought bitcoins at $10.  Just missed the boat.  Nobody to blame but myself.

What if you read this in a couple years when one BTC trades for $1000, $2000 or even more?
Sure it may not seem realistic right now but can you rule it out?
