They are only banned from posting, they still have access to all the knowledge that is here.
But since OP is banned from posting, he is also banned from asking questions freely. Wouldn't that make it hard for him who is still learning? If that is the case, wouldn't he better off accessing other sites for information about crypto to be able to ask questions freely. Either way, if he did stick around and read here, At least he will learn how to use the search button.

I doubt he asked any real questions here if all his posts got deleted.
62  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace Discussion and Suggestions on: September 13, 2018, 11:40:03 AM
I've had a go at selling domain names through the market place, and it is a complete waste of time. Threads seem to drop onto the second of third index page fairly quickly, and I doubt if any serious domain name buyers would visit the board.

I believe that specific product boards would be beneficial, and they should be moderated by a person who understands the product. Bitcoin memorabilia, and domain names are two products that spring to mind. General categories just get spammed, and the worst threads seem to be auto-bumped.

Yes, which is why I gave my suggestions. If the membership was paid or the threads had a fee there would be far less spam. Sellers who are serious and have put in the work wouldn't mind paying the fee because they understand it's business and it would pay out very fast. Specific product boards such as yours are too specific IMO, there's no need for segmenting the marketplace like that. Proper moderation of the current boards is needed, not segmentation.

That Marketplace board should probably be locked (if it can). It serves no purpose and can't have a description on it and as such is being used as a catch all for anything. I have no power or influence to have it locked though.

I feel that with proper moderation and filtering it could prove itself to be very useful. In this state, yeah, it should be locked until we come to a solution.
63  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace Discussion and Suggestions on: September 13, 2018, 11:32:07 AM
It's allowed. Just bump once every 24 hours and remove the previous 'bump' if that's all it is. New info/content doesn't need to be removed though.

Thanks. Would love to hear your opinion on this if possible.

The thing is, most of the sections/boards are being used for totally opposite purposes than what they are supposed to be used for. Look at this post, does it really have anything to do with Marketplace? No! It is just a general discussion having no relativity with that section at all, but it is there. People don't care about where they should post their stuff or they simply don't know where they belong, and that is because they don't really want reasonable discussions but the sole purpose of doing that is either to increase the post quantity or a try to earn Merits. These are the most focused things on the forum right now, if we take out the average of all the users active right now.

Now, monetizing the forum is not a solution for finish such useless actions. Even if it reduces that, it would injustice for some people who hope they would run a service here but fail to do that. Because not every single person get success in offering their services in here, or anywhere. I know it is not a lot of money to ask, but there should be another way to tackle this. Besides, theymos won't even restrict the smaller ranks saying that it would effect the forum, I doubt he would even consider doing something like this, very soon.

Well, not every person should start selling, then. Maybe only limiting the Service section? Would that be more appropriate? It's spam city now, a solution is what we need and a small fee or membership could help us regain the marketplace section.

Oh but it does have a positive effect, you can bet that he, and others who find out about this, won't slack off when it comes to doing their due diligence.
It does not. Your emotional argument against OP is your own thing that is not of concern of me. Based on past ways of settling similar situations, Marlboroza should remove his rating or someone should counter it.
I don't have any personal problems with the OP. I am just sick of all the scams around here and would like to combat that as much as possible. What's "your concern" is totally irrelevant to this topic, the user received red trust for organizing bounty campaigns for scam projects multiple times and I don't see why you are so actively combating that. Marlboroza did what he thought was right, I agree with what he did, while you may not and that's your opinion.
65  Economy / Reputation / Re: marlboroza - about the red trust - Nel.network fake team on: September 13, 2018, 10:53:10 AM
Negative trust is a good wake up call for Woshib, the consequences could have been much larger if members didn't out the scams early on.
This "measure" does not have a single positive effect, but will rather lead to more and more BM work being settled via 3rd party communication platforms and posted by random lower-ranking accounts.

Whether it is Woshib or someone else, it doesn't matter. It's time to stop viewing things from a narrow-minded perspective.

Oh but it does have a positive effect, you can bet that he, and others who find out about this, won't slack off when it comes to doing their due diligence. There's nothing "narrow-minded" about this, it's simply a punishment to him for endangering members of the forum and actively helping and working for/representing a scam project. I don't see any situation in which this wouldn't be considered worthy of a punishment.

Lower-ranking accounts don't advertise themselves as "trustworthy" and don't enjoy the reputation an established bounty manager does. New users trust bounty managers, they don't trust "random lower-ranking accounts".
66  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace Discussion and Suggestions on: September 13, 2018, 10:46:17 AM
Don't know if bumping is allowed in this section, but I'd appreciate creative criticism and discussion on this topic as I believe it's a very important one.

67  Economy / Reputation / Re: marlboroza - about the red trust - Nel.network fake team on: September 13, 2018, 10:38:16 AM
You shouldn't receive red trust for something like this as long as you stop everything related to the project as soon as you're notified/you found out.

Was there no ANN thread/official team account?

Do bounty managers have no responsibilities? I have seen multiple people receive negative trust for participating in a scam bounty campaign, wouldn't the bounty manager be subject to the same treatment? Or is he allowed to "back out" when he learns they are a scam?

I have the same opinion. The flame focus should be on the malicious project, once discovered.
Woshib stopped all activities with them when as soon as this has been brought to his knowledge.
Also, he is managing a couple of other, legit, bounties and he's good at it.

I think this negative feedback should be turned to neutral.
You can't humanly monitor every page / paragraph, and check every day if there have been a change or not ...

What Woshib did here by withdrawing from the agreement is the expected behavior after the issue has been brought to his attention.
There is no malefactor association here, and Woshib helps to spread wealth to some people taking time to translate things and do stuff.
In the end, all balanced out, is the negative feedback really the way to go here ?  Undecided

Once again, if he can receive money, he can do a background check on them. It's not his first time, that's for sure. There was no need to "monitor every page or paragraph" an initial check was sufficient and he failed to do it. Also, he advertises himself as "trustworthy" so it's about time he starts acting like he is. If we want to fight the root of the problem(scam projects) then we should start with bounty managers, since that's the first door to knock on for any scam project. Accomplice to scam in any real-life situation is a serious offense, that's why people carefully watch what they sign and who they work with. Negative trust is a good wake up call for Woshib, the consequences could have been much larger if members didn't out the scams early on.
68  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nel.network - SCAM - Fake Team on: September 12, 2018, 08:17:34 PM
Hi, thanks for your investigations, I will redirect them (or redirect him?) to your thread and I intend to close the bounty if they have no explanation to provide.
This is second third bounty managed by you and exposed by other people (hashkon, ethconnect).

I believe 2 months ago you said exactly this:

Quote
Anyway, in the future, my priority will be to verify that the project is legit.
archived http://archive.is/D0NoW#selection-5420.7-5420.8

Obviously, this wasn't your priority....

Hi, thanks for your investigations, I will redirect them (or redirect him?) to your thread and I intend to close the bounty if they have no explanation to provide.

THANK YOU. Finally, someone mentions the bounty manager. I'm sorry, but if your job is managing bounties and you advertise yourself as "trustworthy" then shouldn't you do proper research on the projects you accept? A lot of people frequent this board and it's your duty to vet projects you accept if you want to be "reputable and trustworthy".But, if you want to become an accomplice to scam, you're on a good path.
69  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: heta.org - SCAM? - Fake Team on: September 12, 2018, 08:13:58 PM
Did you even read his post before commenting? He's got a pretty good point. Don't blindly defend scams, it's their job to defend themselves.
Not sure how you came to the conclusion that I am defending them. I was not talking for anyone. I was talking about bringing clear evidences and following formats so that the readers can have clear understanding.

All I heard was: no profile and no mention.

So, I asked more information like those who have profiles are they fake? Company information, whitepaper etc etc. Asking for clear information does not mean that I was defending them.

Those who have pictures on the website don't actually link to anything on LinkedIn. The profiles are most certainly fake as the pictures are even different than on the website.  The format of the post is appropriate, I don't see the problem. The information is pretty clear, although the section is called Scam Accusations this is deceptive enough to require an explanation in my opinion.
70  Economy / Services / Re: Withdraw limited PayPal accounts more 45-180 days / Exchange Service/ VBA/ VCC on: September 12, 2018, 06:25:06 PM
Stop commenting on your sales thread with your alt accounts. They are newbie accounts with some of them having literally 0 posts prior to this one. I don't know if this service is legit or not but deception is frowned upon and fake reviews are definitely what I call deception.

DEAL WITH CAUTION! SELLER IS MAKING FAKE REVIEWS USING ALT ACCOUNTS ON HIS SALES THREAD!

Who make fake Reviews ?
people find me via google or any other and register here for reply
You can check my old thread, also have people with reputation lol

People find you on Google and register to reply to your Bitcointalk thread? Do you think people here are degenerates? You have some reviews from people of higher rank, but mostly your own. Because of that I am warning users, people who give themselves fake reviews are not trustworthy by any standards.
71  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: heta.org - SCAM? - Fake Team on: September 12, 2018, 06:19:32 PM
I guess you are missing evidences. When you make a scam accusations it is advised to use certain format so that the readers can easily get the information. Here is the format: Scam Report Format (Use it to make scam reports properly)

Did you even read his post before commenting? He's got a pretty good point. Don't blindly defend scams, it's their job to defend themselves.

Suspiction! Because all team have no profiles or have no mention about heta project!

It's spelled suspicion. You have a point here. Also, I noticed most of the links on the website don't even work, they link back to heta.org

I'd say there is a good chance this project is a scam. Would love to hear from them.

Please provide evidence that he sent you that account. Chat logs with account sent + gmail sent. I'm sure we can get some DT members to tag him if you provide more information. I'm sorry if you got scammed by him, let's make sure nobody does ever again, just provide the proof.

75  Other / Meta / Re: Have we left "Bitcoin Discussion" board for spammers, forever?? on: September 12, 2018, 04:43:42 PM

I understand where your concern is coming from. I just feel like it's only going to get worse if legitimate members don't hang out there & continue to report posts.

Look at this as an example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5015332.0
People are only going to start posting threads (which should be in Bitcoin Discussion) in other categories in order to avoid the spam. It's only going to lead to mis-categorization of posts if people avoid that category.

Just my $0.02

I totally agree with you, don't get me wrong, but I'm talking about the current situation. I feel mods are severely understaffed in comparison to the amount of "bounty hunters"(low-life shitposters). Until there are enough mods to deal with those spammers, BTC Discussion is most probably dead. The forum as a whole has been handled in a bad way, which looks bad for a forum this size. Honestly, there are a lot of better ways this whole board can be handled if someone would just put in the effort. A change from the ground up is needed, otherwise, it would just be a temporary patch-up.
76  Economy / Reputation / User offering to sell "simulation of social activity on Bitcointalk" + harassing on: September 11, 2018, 10:31:09 PM
So this user is selling "simulation of social activity on Bitcointalk" on this thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5026939.msg45554168#msg45554168

After I told him I am reporting his post and that this is highly frowned upon, he decided to send me a message threatening me, see for yourselves:

I find it worrying that such users exist here. Ask for a mod to delete your thread, apologize, do something to redeem yourself. Instead, he chooses to threaten me through PM. I hope he gets what's coming to him.

It appears he is also selling e-mail databases among which are BitcoinTalk members' e-mails. Interesting. Please have a look at this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4987679.0

and look at this screenshot of his "sample":

"Stimulating social activity" on Bitcointalk is highly frowned upon, your post is reported.
78  Economy / Services / Re: Articles writer needed on: September 11, 2018, 05:28:29 PM
I doubt anyone will hire you with a post like this. First of all, work on your grammar and sentence structure. Secondly, why is your font size so large and bolded?
79  Economy / Services / Re: Decent hosting accepting bitcoin on: September 11, 2018, 05:21:57 PM
Do you know decent hosting that accepts bitcoin (and of course anonymous registration)?
I tried shinjiru but it's very shitty with too much downtimes, basically every 3-4 days i have 3-4 hours or more of downtime.
I already have a domain name, i just need an hosting

Namecheap is pretty legit hosting and they accept Bitcoin. They have various plans so you can choose based on your needs. Can't say about the others as I haven't tried. Also, look for private hosting providers and ask them if they accept Bitcoin.
80  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tag this accounts seller on: September 11, 2018, 05:18:08 PM
Tagged him.  Next time, just drop me a PM about it.  I think I'm the only DT member who's consistently tagging account sellers, and even then it's pretty inconsistent since I have Invites & Accounts on ignore.  I'll un-ignore it soon (temporarily) and have a look around at some point.  Good catch.

Thanks for the swift reaction. Definitely will do next time!

Rule 1: I'm not account seller, i'm an ico advertiser.

Rule 2: I can sell my 'own accounts', you can't stop me.

Rule 3: My business it doesn't concern anyone

You're not trustworthy, not me. Bye

No, actually you really are not trustworthy now(get it?). Good luck with your "ICO advertising"!

P.S. Writing in colorful letters doesn't make you more trustworthy. It's just annoying.
