61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: January 07, 2014, 03:05:23 AM
Some indication of pending site down time would be greatly helpful. This is just bad business practice.

Very helpful, and very bad business practice.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: January 07, 2014, 03:01:03 AM
I started using this site again, new account though...

Came for EAC, liking the new performance improvements, hope this site picks up, it used to be decent, but if it's stable and fast like it's been so far it'll be much better.

EDIT: try to login, 502: bad gateway. ARGH

ya, its 502:bad gateway for me too now.... what the hell.

Site says its updating for another 72 hours. I'd like it better if we got more than 4 hours notice after the site was down.

Where did you see this? I cant even get in.

Why there is such big fee for withdrawaling LTC? 0.03 LTC , It will let to make withdrawal of 0.02 but will take all of that.wtf

you are right.
0.03 was at an earlier client. we will lower that fee.

we also lowered TEK fee from 0.1 to 0.01 now.

too bad your exchange is down.... how will we benefit from that lowered fee. Maybe you wanna get on that? its been 20 minutes now... really hope to see all my coins there.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: January 07, 2014, 02:53:32 AM

Patience is pretty much the only option right now guys.

As far as I've seen, the admin is trustworthy and should get it all sorted in time.

And the admin is most certainly aware of this thread.  He's the one that started it, after all.

^^ this is pretty much all i can say as well. Must also say though, that people should do manual cashouts everytime they get a chance. Leaving your coins on a pool site for long periods of time, especially when the pools are being Ddos on a constant nature is not good mining practices.

It should be fine everyone, just have patience and understanding. Ddos are not easy to deal with. Especially annoying when they keep happening even with Cloudflare acting as a middle man to help keep the attacks down.

Nod is the Admin of Cryptovalley. Figured i would mention that for anyone who hasn't figured it out yet.

Hey nod, just wanted to thank you for all the work you're putting into the pool.

Also Mhael asked me to link this in the thread.  It's a little infographic I put together earlier today to answer some of the newbie questions that pop up over and over in the chat.

Excellent. Now hopefully that reduces the questions to a trickle..... hahahahahaa who am i kidding.

Hi all. MhaelFarShain here. Thats my chat name on pool chat. Also known as Mhael on pool. Can find me on Reddit as same chat name. And add me on steam. mitsanaga. Ps3 Yggdrasilslepnir

lets get doge.

Thanks for everything you're doing for the pool and the community. (for the others: he's the new pool's chat moderator)

Thanks for props. And i will try my best to keep nice and fair.
A few things to say now. We don't mind giving out doge, but please don't beg. wait for contests, and visit waterbowls/faucets that are provided by certain members. I advise all to stay away from casino's. Casino's, unless validated on a forum, are usually a scam. you have been warned.

71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / lost shares on coinotron.... 400+ ltc and near 300 trc shares are not accounted on: May 05, 2013, 02:13:10 AM
maybe im misunderstanding something, but unless my math is wrong, my shares should equal way more than what has been reported on the website. addmitedly i keep my worksize low as possible without nuking my hashrate so as to get as efficient a speed as possible, but is it possible that my shares aren't adding up because they aren't worth as much? i remember reading something about difficulty/workload=%share value or something like that. basically, i only get the same results as the pool's site if i lower my share count by about 75%... which sorta makes sense if a -w 64 for trc is too low, or -w 128 for ltc. that being said. if it isnt this... then what, cause im not going to keep doing this just to get cheated out of what is rightfully mined. if im doing something wrong with my worksize please say so. cause this is getting frustrating.

for instance. at current share value being .00335169~(314)= 1.05 rounded trc. but i only have 0.19rounded. now granted, it is RBPPS, so some may not have come through yet... but it is essentially the same issue with my ltc shares as well. not to mention as well, when i just went to check the values again after writing the last sentence, the value of trc has gone up to .005 rounded and then dropped to .0049rounded..... what is the problem here..... ive never seen it change that fast before... except when i was mining ltc a few nights ago. and lost over 400 shares...........

not happy. coinotron explain.

I ask this because, it occures to me, that we are getting near the end of mining, for bitcoins at least... unless we somehow get to mine for more past 2017? max=21million.
- snip -

You are mistaken.

Current supply: 11,052,150 BTC (11 million)
Supply at block 420,000 (Year 2016): 15,750,000 (15 million)
Supply at block 630,000 (Year 2020): 18,375,000 (18 million)
Supply at block 840,000 (Year 2024): 19,687,500 (19.6 million)
Supply at block 1,050,000 (Year 2028): 20,343,750 (20 million)
Supply at block 1,260,000 (Year 2032): 20,671,875 (20.6 million)

and so on until...

Supply at block 6,720,000 (Year 2136): 20,999,999.97480001
Final supply at block 6,930,000 when all bitcoins have been mined (Year 2140): 20999999.97690000

huh... well then. i must ask though, when did this change. because i remember reading a while back that it was to be finished in 2017.... it made me sorta wonder why everyone was so uppity about asics.  but ya another 127 years should satiate the asic miners for a while.

Im not monitoring it.

My heat is around 85-90 C

you do realize your gpu is hot enough to cook eggs on a frying pan with right... like boil water hot.... dammmmmm man...... gotta be nice to your gpu's. those honey's are makin you money. cool em off with a few extra fans if you can manage, or lower the temps in your computer room. if your gpu is getting that hot and your not complaining about the heat in the room... congrats.

and i thought mine was bad for getting up to 65C.... lol

i could see the mistake being made though if you were mistaking the temp for F and not C. lol

76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will ASIC destroy bitcoin? on: April 20, 2013, 11:42:35 AM
it will definitely speed up the process, but im curious as to how much? i mean, it wont destroy them, as the difficulty should skyrocket to proportions that would make it hard for even low end asic machines. remember, there are more than just bitcoins. lite coins and terra coins are like silver and copper as bitcoin is to gold if you were to relate them to something more real world. namecoins will always be useful for some, and im sure there are others out there that will slowly dwindle away and fade. but those 4 are from what i believe after 3-4 years of watching all of this go by, and am now confident to say those are the four to mine. im more curiouse as to what asics will do to those other three, seeing as asic is for bitcoin only... or am i wrong?
77  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what does the value of bitcoin need to be to become a real possible currency? on: April 20, 2013, 11:29:54 AM
It's not as much about the price as about adoption. If many merchants accept bitcoins, the price goes up automatically. So it's not the price that drives "realness" of bitcoin, but the other way around.

ya but you need to have it hit a high mark... like $1000 so that even the biggest wigs can look at it and go "I WANT"

not sure how people feel about that, but the big corps aren't going away... any time soon that is.

79  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: noob needs help getting guiminer up and running on: April 20, 2013, 09:38:38 AM
well i can tell you that i have had no problems with avg, as long as i tell it to allow things. but you already did that... try disabling avg. see that helps. normally avg is good for not being super intrusive. that being said, you said your pc froze. do you have any pre-existing issues that may be causing this on you. also, make sure that all your directories are full and complete. double check. i couldn't get guiminer to work with cgminer until fixing the directory myself. still prefer poclbm to cgminer... worked without a hitch for me.
try bfgminer as well, i just started dicking around with it and while it is in console command, it isnt that hard to use so far, just need a bit of a guide for it. ill be doing that today myself, so i can share links later with you if you like.

as for your logfile. sorry bud, cant help ya there, but once you google the windows error with guiminer attached to your search "gui miner (windows error)" im sure you should be able to find something if your determined to stick with guiminer.

good luck.
80  Other / Beginners & Help / what does the value of bitcoin need to be to become a real possible currency? on: April 20, 2013, 09:30:35 AM
Alright, so like the subject line say's: what does the value of bitcoin need to be to become a real possible currency?

I ask this because, it occures to me, that we are getting near the end of mining, for bitcoins at least... unless we somehow get to mine for more past 2017? max=21million.
So what do you all feel should be the final worth of the bitcoin (1.00BTC)?

I figure it should reach a figurative max of $1000, making the total bitcoin value 21,000,000,000.

but what if it goes higher? does anyone have anything to say on this, because on a few forums they talk about things like $40,000,000,000,000 and that is with them already splitting it into 8 decimal points. (0.00000001)/$?.

what if it goes higher?
