Does anyone here know the status of the s2x HF, and how that will affect the btc chain? Hoping for a hostile battle between the 2 chains that results in a mass exodus of BTC users.

fingers crossed.

Also, why was this HF canceled and then said to occur anyways. did anyone else receive that email from coinbase? lol
They made a bigger deal of it than it is, some miners still merely signaling for segwit2x, but nothing happened no b2x chain exists after the dreaded block 494784
I was so sure it wasn't going to happen I had a transaction confirmed on block 494791 with a reasonable $3 fee Cheesy

So if the block that the HF was set to execute on has already occured?

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/now-segwit2x-hard-fork-has-really-failed-activate/

Quote
Further, software bugs in the btc1 codebase made all btc1 implementations grind to a halt even before it reached the expected fork point. While Bitcoin and SegWit2x nodes were widely expected to share a single blockchain up until block 494783 and then to go their own ways at block 494784, btc1 nodes never made it past block 494782.

But due to what is referred to as an “off-by-one error,” SegWit2x blocks started to reject smaller-than-one-megabyte blocks one block too soon — at block 494,783 instead of 494,784.

It was cancelled because the majority users didn't want it, as for occurring anyway  this was just a group of miners that said were going ahead but it was a huge failure the code had some bug and failed to reach the forking block so just stalled and got stuck

Can we see another pump now segwit2x is going to continue?

Probably not, the fork is already done....
It was done at block number 494,784

https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2017/11/17/exchange-bitcoin-segwit2x-hard-fork/

So people should be able to sell their BTC now Wink

Appears not there seems to be some bug in the code from what ive seen that is preventing the btc1 software from getting to the forked block so all BTC1 nodes have just stalled and unable to fork
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: November 17, 2017, 02:41:58 PM
How can I declare my Bitcoin Gold from Electrum wallet and Bittrex exchange? I also possess some BTC in nearby trade, how do i get Bitcoin Precious metal for those BTC's? Help me comprehend, this hand things are too complicated for me personally.

me same the bitcoins golds in trezor. but no golds theere

If you have private keys of your BTC holdings, then you can sweep with Coinomi's BTG wallet - tested and works.
Before doing it, I'd move BTC to other addresses just in case.
Then you can do whatever you want with your BTG - they're traded on HitBTC for instance.

this will compromise the security of my trezor. isn't?

Trezor is planning official BTG support for monday

what's the clashic block of forking?

Its not a fork it's a continuation of the Bitcoin Cash that BitcoinCashDAA forked from Clashic is the real Bitcoin Cash

A new official pool has been set up http://pool.bclashic.network:5964/static/

Is this forked off new BCH or BTC legacy chain?

Neither its a continuation of the old EDA chain before the new DAA fork basically just running ABC 0.15.x instead of the new DAA version 0.16.x

they fucked up their own coin bchs are sad :\ i feel sorry for ver and wu now in a way the experiment is over been co-opted?..lol

It's brutal no wonder all the cashaholics are so quiet BTC breaking new ATH of $8000 and BCH dropping under $1000 and going down fast you should feel sorry for them bit its hard to when they don't listen

This part is very confusing so which one is original bitcoin cash. Clashic or BitcoinCashDAA can explain about that?

The current chain is like this

Bitcoin ---------------|-------------------------------------------
                              BitcoinCash--------------|Clashic----------------------
                                                                  BitcoinCashDAA-----------------------------------------

This is the exact reason BTC has a whole 2 week difficulty adjust and not some short quick if no hashing is available downward adjust

The EDA was designed to stop the bcash chain dying and now it's being used against it because now the EDA is allowing the old chain to be mineable on lesser hardware and being used to attack9

Im not sure on the legibility but there was talks that the EDA could actually cause a chain reorg where the SPV wallets could start following this EDA chain over the DAA one

OK lemme get this straight, a fork that is 100 blocks behind the main chain is a threat how? And someone is going to replay transactions on this sh!tchain and anyone will care? That chain is not a coin,  it's worthless! I really hope you're not losing too much sleep about that. Or, maybe you should convince an exchange to list that defunct chain?

Also how is your Bitcoin Gold investment faring? I tried to tell you to GTFO before the dump.

Looks like Vitalik got some death threats? Or he just can't take anymore whining... I thoroughly enjoyed his twitter threads taking apart Kore devs piece by piece - they were sabotaging him so much he built his own chain...

http://www.trustnodes.com/2017/11/14/vitalik-buterin-silenced-wont-comment-bitcoin-issues

100 blocks behind with the EDA dropping the difficulty fast then all it needs is some more hashing power and it can get through a full 2016 period in a matter of days

remember when cash was so far behind btc and the eda helped it get 9000+ infront well the same can happen here

As for gold im good thanks it was all free and the extra I have gained was mined for next to nothing minus the little bit I bought I am well in front

Support for Bitcoin Gold on @TREZOR is planned on Monday.
First transactions went through already and we're testing it.

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
What is going on with BCH? I guess there are too much of bitcoins:
So now we have:
Bitcoin
Bitcoin Gold
Bitcoin Cash (Clashic)
BCash (Jihan Wu coin)

Price  falling. Any news from dev team ?
That's the problem, there is no dev team, only charlatans. Not a single cypherpunk on board with BCH.
I think it is not fair to say that. There are some teams behind it.
That is pure bullshit. There are 2-3 developers that have never produced any worthwhile code for Bitcoin. In other words: There is no development team, there are a few children playing in the sand box.

.. producing shitty technobubbles like sipa and BMatt ? - Big Blocks can be coded by children - all what is needed. - keep the base protocol as simple as possible that others can build easy on top.

You seem to need some blinding to feel safe.

So in the future if some critical bug is found will they be able to fix it I mean they are not any kind of cryptographer so far all the work has been done by core with some amateur dev changing a few settings the only real bit of code that was added ended up being broken and required a HF to try and fix it and so far the new DAA although better than before is still far from perfect

First things first, this market is not solely driven by people (i.e market participants), but also by supply and demand, but especially by big players whose smart money is going to flood into (...)

Yes, the market is speaking right now.  Criminals exposed,  plot debunked.

1   Bitcoin
Market Cap $125,400,975,703
Price $7516.94     +8.04%
Volume $4,226,180,000

3   Bit/Altcoin Cash
Market Cap $17,144,616,297
Price $1020.21    -21.33%
Volume $1,559,030,000

Pump and dump money for quick profit  vs.  organic growth over almost a decade of an evolving and adapting Bitcoin.

You actually compare the two?

You seriously compare a copy of Bitcoin created by some rich guys as part of a peculiar dream to 'kill BTC' with Bitcoin?

That's hardcore.

Well if everything is true and Roger has sold all his BTC then there is very little to pump this back up once it drops again but he can't be that stupid but then again he would probably rather loose everything over admit he was wrong

Well done on the new DAA algorithm it's helping miners stay on the original bitcoin chain and stopped the hyper inflation of bcash.

Since the introduction of the new DAA the bitcoin mempool has gone from well over 100k transactions to currently 67k and falling and will soon it will be empty again

Also noted now roger has sold all his BTC the bithumb exchange trading volume has dropped of considerably big coincidence  Roll Eyes  the mempool will still take some time to empty though since half of the size is tiny low fee transactions ie SPAM but the genuine ones are clearing up nicely

Lol... Currently up and down right now at 73k but we need to get transactions through so we can get our BTC-->BCH purchase confirmed the wait has been beneficial.

According to my node there are 66k now

Guys anyone made a successful transaction of bitgold yet? im trying to get my bitcoin golds out of ledger nano

Well since there are transactions on the chain and blocks are not empty then I would say yes there are transactions being made

^THIS IS A LIE.

what these btc trolls want is for users to pay high fees and wait a very long time....or use the segshit....

No this is the first step in a long line of optimisations to make the most use of available space the blocks will be increased afterwards bitcoin is not ready for prime time use most people are dumb and if you allow everyone to just dive in straight way then there will be a lot of lost finds with no way to recover and a total loss of confidence let us tech folks who know what to do make things better and more user friendly.

Also not allowing mass adoption yet is better for us as we can accumulate more that will be worth more than if everyone jumped in and pushed the value up now you would be so much more financially worse of

With most tech stuff the tech evolves for the people the people don't usually evolve for the tech

Now you have the chance to buy cheap bitcoin cash and to wait for the price to rise

This is very bad investment advice and if you're not stupid you know it.  Do you honestly not feel bad for recommending this?

See, another wave of newbie Altcoin Cash promoters incoming. Hi there!

ALL TROLLS  , DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE HERE TO LIE ,MISLEAD AND FIGHT WITH THE BITCOIN CASH COMMUNITY.....
Fight?  Against what?  Welcome to Bitcointalk.
Guys, I don't undertstand why BTC  и BCH are at war? Why are not two currencies exist together?

Ask the BCH pushers constantly trying to devalue BTC so the pittance they have accumulated will be worth more at the expense of network security and stability

BTC holders are looking to the future and how to scale for us and future generations to come and BCH are looking at now what they can get without any care for how it will affect the future

btg have only one issue, it require a lot of power for good results, like btc!

That's the idea you if it was easy and required no power then there is little security
