601  Local / Mining (India) / Re: which GPU is best to BTC mine in india on: May 07, 2013, 06:55:11 PM

That is very very cool indeed.

The 7970 is around INR 40K

Are you kidding me..? Its 450 USD here..? and yet i feel i can get back the investment.!
Its almost double.!

Yep, thats the difficulty for us in India. Double what it is back there Sad

it is so unfair, drive me mad always. Even second hand Bentley cost in India 2 cr, while same car officially certified by Bentley in UK can be owned around GBP 50K

Too many palms to grease on the way to the consumer.

We also need to realize the massive customs cost that they will apply when the Rig reaches.

Prob its just the case of high end parts like GPU and Processors. I used to assemble PC's when i was in India.! At that point of time, some of the parts like casing and RAM were much cheaper that their counterparts here..!

Some of the things are cheaper in India as compared to here.. for instance Books..! The same publishing house prints books to be sold only in India and Nepal and sells it for like 10% of the original price..  during my masters i used to ask my parents to fedex them to me and still it used to workout cheaper than buying here.

Some of the techy things i still miss from India.. major one being the mobile service.. have been brand loyal to Airtel all my life and it was good for what i did.. the big advantage was NO CONTRACTS.!!
Cellular service here is costly + contracts + limits.! (Though 4G LTE is fast.. its throttled)

Once we start to publicize, I am sure that many more will join us before the launch.

quick question though.! Even if we have desicoin, how will that overcome the issue of domestic money transfer / net banking issue that is plaguing the virtual currency trading in India.?

Online services that accept only crypto need to be introduced.
We always have localbitcoins to fallback onto for the final processing if needed.

Awesome. Keep me in the loop. Am looking into ways to start a marketplace so that people can trade the coins especially to overcome the problems revolving around trading in India most probably incorporate somewhere outside of India.!

Benson - I had emailed you a plan. That was more of a short term though specifically to buy and sell bitcoins.

Lets also add a thread titled "List of trusted traders"

I like this idea..!! I proposed the same to Mod Benson.!
But the question is how to rate a trader whether to trust him or not.?
607  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Challenges to create Exchange in India? on: May 05, 2013, 02:43:10 PM
what people really need here is reliable channel to transfer INR to btc-e in usd, that will open possibility to buy cheap bitcoins on btc-e and sale it later on mtgox. If you can provide such service, you will be in business 100% guaranteed. Also OKpay -->btc-e will do fine, one Indian service which offer OKpay charging quite high rate 60 inr per 1 usd.

Pinwheel - Which is that Indian Service that offers OKpay <> to btc-e.?

P.S : If it is a trade secret, just so that you know I don't live in India.. Just curious to know how they are offering the service and what are they charging.

here it is http://sitepanel.in/lr/check-rates/

I dont know about OKpay, yes people say bad things.

there is another way called interkassa, btc-e bitcoins rate always will be lower compared to mtgox, so it will be interesting if any one can offer way to load INR to btc-e.

Post a discussion, I assume that americandesi may have an easier way to load INR into Gox or BTC-e.
Is that a service that you can provide AD?

Yes definitely. Infact i was planning post an ad on that too as well.
If anyone wants, i can convert INR to BTC / LTC / BTC-E / MTGOX / OKPAY

Am a trader and hold VERIFIED accounts with MTGOX / OKPAY / CAMPBX / DWOLLA / BTC-E / LOCALBITCOINS.

Will be glad to help.!

As we seem to be growing quite well, few notes need to be be added for a smooth community to be built.

All new members please take the time to read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.0, this explains the functions of the forum.

Some hints:
- No embedded NSFW images anywhere.
- No discussion of how to find illegal trading sites. Discussion about the sites is OK.
- If you find an embedded image to be annoying, please report the post and I will turn it into a link instead of an embedded image.
- No off-topic posts. (This also covers spam.)
- No trolling.
- Topics should be in the correct section.
- Topics should not be pointless.
- Topic creation should not be annoying. There should not be too many topics about the same thing in a short time period, and individuals should not   post too many topics. "Too many" depends on the quality of the topics.

Please feel free to add any suggestions to this before we lock it.

Benson...
Quick question.. Can you kindly elaborate what do you mean by illegal trading sites..?

SR, Atl, BMR, etc..

Oh okie..! Gotya.!

611  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Most convenient way to buy bitcoin? on: May 04, 2013, 01:44:25 AM
Hi all - been lurking for awhile and time to pad my post count.

Been watching from the sidelines for some time and intrigue has finally pushed me into the realm of bitcoin!  Alas, my 660ti doesn't hash very well.  So I've been doing some reading about the new mining hardware, imminent increased difficulty, etc.  I'm thinking I'm going to ease in with just a few btc in a wallet first, then do some reading on mining hardware.

What are you all finding is the most convenient or least expensive way to buy btc?

Most difficult issue is to getting the regular currency into BTC ecosystem. If you are in US, you still have options like bitinstant.
again it depends where u are from..!! Local meetups are one more option as well.
612  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: London buyer wishes to Buy Bitcoin from India GBP -> INR on: May 03, 2013, 10:33:59 PM
Quick update.

I am always looking to buy coins from Indian sellers. I regularly buy coins for cash - sent via Western Union or MoneyGram from London.
Fast and reliable service - hundreds of trades done.
I would be looking for a discount on the mtgox 24 hour average USD price.

Am interested in selling. Indian based out of New York. willing to sell in high volumes.
Let me know you expectations and volumes.

615  Local / India / Re: [Help] Cannot login to Blockchain on: May 03, 2013, 08:31:52 PM
Blockchain.info is messy. Wallets get corrupted very easily.

I have had to change 5 - 6 wallets so far for my customers using blockchain as the back end for their projects.

I have stopped using them.

Then what is the suggested and reliable wallet preferably online.?
616  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Need a Bitcoin Processor on: May 03, 2013, 06:30:58 PM
There is a request from someone who will pay by NEFT in exchange for a BFL pre-order.

He does not have BTC or PayPal

Benson - If no one done this yet. I can help that "someone". Ask him to get in touch with me.

Thanks,
617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please explain this to a total newbie on: May 03, 2013, 06:18:43 PM
A company outside the U.S. owes me money. They want to send it to me with Bitcoin. It appears to me the value of a bitcoin varies greatly from one day, or sometimes one hour, to the next. My question is, if the company pays me in bitcoins what happens if the value drops significantly before I can sell them and convert them to cash? Also, where is a trusted place to sell bitcoins?

Thank You

I agree that is not the ethical way of doing business. However, Look at the brighter side. What if the BTC gains value and doubles.?
There is a chance for both.

620  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoin GPU mining on a Mac? on: May 03, 2013, 04:00:58 PM
Be careful when using Mac Pro / imac to mine BTC / LTC.
There have been number of reports of motherboard overheating due to lack of airflow.

Search on this forums or google it.
