602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Old Casino Keep Up Without Support Here In Bitcointalk Or Signature Campaign on: June 18, 2022, 10:00:32 AM
Yeah can ofcourse, if the casino does a lot of promotions either on in site or via email messages, active gamblers want a bonus and how worth it is. But usually gamblers often forget the old site if there is a new gambling site because of other features and benefits, so apart from attracting new gamblers this signature campaign will remind them too.

Not working idea because people will just ignore spam emails. But since they are already old and still surviving for sure what they do before will be relevant thing for the gambler to stay on their platform because reputation is what most important factor on why people choose to gamble on a casino. If they add up fast withdrawal and active support for sure they can be self sustaining for more longer times.

In fact, the prejudice that people ignore spam is far from 100% true. For example, although I don’t like spam, I read notifications from Burger King (sometimes there are interesting coupons), from some online games that I play or played (there are very interesting promotions that bring me back to the game), etc. This works similarly with a casino - if a person is initially interested in something, then he will pay attention to information on this topic.

Well seems like the FIA put a rule so Mercedes need to raise the floor, lets see how bad this impact in their car.
-skip-

It looks like Mercedes got a completely different result for which it fought - after all, it was them who complained the most and now, in order to fulfill the FIA directive, they will have to take some design decisions that will reduce vertical shaking and obviously reduce the speed of the bollide. To be honest, I am very surprised by such a reasonable decision by the FIA, I wonder if Mercedes will honestly carry it out or sacrifice the "health of the pilots" about which they were so worried about for results.
605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bonus Abuse: Who is to Blame? on: June 17, 2022, 03:34:55 PM
Well, the bonus abuse can stopped with better security system and criteria to meet the bonus like atleast 1x wagering amount before the withdrawal and something like that. Most of the popular casinos are doing it better but the players starts to blame the casino for not letting them to withdraw when actually the mistake is by their side si casinos are doing what they are meant to. Play responsibly anything over do will let us drown into it at some point.

If I'm not mistaken, deposit bonuses (which go up to 100%) usually require a gigantic wagering requirement (something like x5 and up). Therefore, if the gambler does not explicitly violate the rules (makes arbitrage bets on multi-accounts using bonuses), then if he was able to honestly win back his bonus, then we can say that the casino is not left in the red.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 17, 2022, 03:13:00 PM
Costa Rica played very competently and apparently, if it were necessary, they could have scored more. As for the World Cup prospects, obviously they will be the points supplier and their maximum is to beat Japan somehow, but the third place will be only honorable without any practical value.

Costa Rica's performance in the last few matches is good. They are consistently performing well. But still, I think they will not be able to cross the first round of the World Cup. They are in Group E. Every team here is strong. I don't think Costa Rica will win any matches. Spain, Germany and Japan are all very strong teams. Winning against them is very challenging for Costa Rica.

I didn't check the order of the games, but it often happens that for example, the favorite wins two games and the competitors draw, so he guarantees himself the first place ahead of schedule and in the last round the coach gives the main team a rest. So if in the last round Costa Rica plays with such an unmotivated Germany, then it may be able to draw or even win.
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Japanese man gambled away a huge Covid-19 relief funds mistakenly sent to him on: June 17, 2022, 03:05:15 PM
just as the title states, a man in Japan mistakenly sent 46.3m yen to his bank account which was supposed to be shared among 436 people in their town. the article says that the man gambled away the money by withdrawing 600k yen daily for two weeks and gambles it in online casinos and when the authority finally contacted him the money has already been gambled and gone. initially the man refuse to pay back the money that was mistakenly sent to him but after some time he decided to pay it back bit by bit. the town is also suing him for this incident.

you can read the full story here
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-61490436

now, I have a question, do you think the man is entirely at fault or someone should also be responsible?

This is a simple legal matter and depends on the specific laws of the country and nothing else. In my country there is such a legal concept as "unjust enrichment" and this case would be decided in favor of the owners of the money, and this player would most likely go to jail. How things are in Japan, I do not know but I can assume that in a similar way.

I was sitting and wondering, there will always be bad actors in online gambling but who is to blame, the customers/fraudsters or the gambling merchants? Are the customers/fraudsters getting tech-savvy or are the gambling merchants getting complacent in checking and testing their website for loopholes? Don't these online gambling operators anticipate these frauds while building their websites? Why don't they invest in a robust fraud detection system before the fraud happens and not after?
I ask again who is to blame for the increase in bonus abuse, the customers/fraudsters or the online gambling operators?

A strange question - the violator is always to blame. Even if the thief used the door that for some reason was not closed, he remains a thief, and the one whom he robbed remains an innocent victim. As for statistics, I would not overestimate its importance. Casinos that make bonus programs are well aware that some unscrupulous players will not use them properly and will be able to somehow cheat. But bonus programs give more profit than losses, so these collateral losses are acceptable for the casino.

Costa Rica plays tactical. they managed to score early in the game and set up an impenetrable defense. New Zealand was not without chances, making 15 shots but only 4 on target. it frustrates players.

Costa Rica was only able to control 30% possession of the ball. and that was enough to get the win. Regarding the performance in the finals, I think the coach just needs to come up with a new strategy. moreover, Costa Rica is in the grub which is not easy. Spain, Germany, and Japan are all strong teams.

Costa Rica played very competently and apparently, if it were necessary, they could have scored more. As for the World Cup prospects, obviously they will be the points supplier and their maximum is to beat Japan somehow, but the third place will be only honorable without any practical value.
611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to win at gambling? on: June 16, 2022, 12:31:15 PM
Once you it is impossible, means that there is zero chance to win in gambling, is that even true?
I have to say you are completely wrong because there is always a chance for you to win, if there is zero chance to win in gambling then there will be no one gamble their money.
You are so sure that it is impossible, is it based on your own experience where you were always lose or just based on your assumption?

Some people survive falling from a great height (during the WW2 there were cases when people with an unopened parachute survived - they fell on a haystack or on a snowy slope) but this does not mean that falling from a great height is "normal and safe" for a person. If you do not take extreme cases (exceptions), then it is obvious that gambling leads to loss.
612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 15, 2022, 01:46:21 PM
GGG just need to perform and try all the best that he can offer during the fight, like what you have said he have nothing to prove just take things the way he always is, his experienced will give some tough fight for Canelo and who knows he might hit him a good combo that will bring him down, boxing is the place where upset happened.

We never know who's going to win till the announcer pronounces the name of the winner.

I would love to see KO from anyone either GGG or Canelo. It will bring more attentions if they will be fighting toe-to-toe.

It seems to me that it would be in Golovkin's interest to force the fight and try to knock out Canello in the first 6 rounds. It is very unlikely that he will be able to outbox or knock him out in the later rounds as convincingly as Bivol, because he will most likely be in big trouble himself, since he is far from young. Canello's strategy is also more or less clear, so there is a chance that we will see a dynamic fight that will end in a knockout.
613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UEFA Nations League 2020/2021 Discussion Thread on: June 15, 2022, 01:32:03 PM
In my opinion, this is a massive wake up call for the English. They are nowhere near as good as they think they are. These last 4 results should give Southgate a clearer perspective as to which players aren’t going to cut the mustard and won’t be on the plane to Qatar. The time to experiment is over. The remaining two games v Germany & Italy aren’t friendlies & relegation from that group is a real threat so Southgate needs to start playing what he considers to be his strongest first choice 11 for those 2 games because they’ll be the only window he has before they walk out on 21st November.

It is surprising that two teams (England and France) which are ranked by the bookmakers as the top World Cup favorites have had such poor results in the Nations League and are now in danger of relegation. If their coaches regarded this tournament as an opportunity to experiment, then I don’t know what they have achieved - there is no result and it is difficult to understand what model of play and what squad is suitable in order to seriously compete in the World Cup. It is unlikely that a couple of games in September will be enough to resolve this issue.
614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High odds or low odds, which do you prefer? on: June 15, 2022, 01:19:53 PM
In sports, choosing low or high odds is hard choice, but we can't just follow the name of the team. The truth is, we need to see the team performance, players and others. As mentioned by @YOSHIE, the team's analysis can determine the possibility of winning or not. Low odds will generally be chosen by most people, because they see the big name of the club itself, and fill it with confidence if this team will be the winner, but cos bad performance, they lose. For example between MU vs Everton, surely the odds for MU will be lower, because the probability of winning is high, so people will agree that MU will win. In fact, MU's condition is inconsistent, so, the results of the match they actually lose or draw. So, makes an analisys before put your bet, to makes your betting get better chance too.

It turns out that because of people who prefer to bet on favorites, the odds are always distorted in their favor and it makes sense to bet only on underdogs. But I remember that someone did a study that if we bet only on the favorites or only on the underdogs, then we lose the same percentage on average. Does this really mean that bookmakers have learned how to accurately determine the probability of outcomes in games?
615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you Considered a Career in Betting Consultancy? on: June 15, 2022, 01:08:18 PM
The answer is yes. Trying a career in gambling as a consultant can also be done, especially if we are used to giving tips about a game. The internet can help us get many customers, especially if we can give almost accurate predictions for many matches. Those who have used our services will return and try to place bets on other matches. Sooner or later, this career will develop as more customers use our services.

In order for everything to happen as you described, you must be regularly stronger than the bookmakers and have a good public betting history where everyone can see that you are in profit. Do you really think this scenario is likely? In my opinion, this is like talking about how you can make money in poker - you just need to register in the tournament and beat all the other participants. It's real, but unlikely.

617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: June 14, 2022, 04:02:03 PM
Gamblers around the world use crypto and bitcoin to play the bets. Do they really care if the bitcoin prices dump hard? I know traders are directly impacted by this dump, and investors are also in panic but what about gamblers. Their motive is to play gamble and they may not be a concerned if the price of bitcoin is declining sharply?

It seems to me that all gamblers (or most) are worried about such a sharp decline in the price of bitcoin because even if they use bitcoin, they keep the amount in dollars in their heads. It is very unpleasant to lose 10-15% of the deposit before you started playing simply because of a change in the rate. And I know that many gamblers use tricky and complex strategies to "reliably" win 10% of their deposit. For them, such losses are sensitive.
618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High odds or low odds, which do you prefer? on: June 14, 2022, 03:45:56 PM
Let us assume that high odds start from 1.5 and above while low odds starts from 1.2 and below.

I specifically like football gambling. When I started to gamble, I go for high odds, but I was not that experienced and I lost a lot. I gained experience but I preferred to gamble on low odds. Only what this led me to is to play more and I noticed losses too. This is just a means someone can also become addicted because low odds will only want you to accumulate and bet more. If you bet more frequently than usual, regardless of the odd, be it high or low, loss is inevitable, it is guaranteed.

I play less often unlike before, I reduced the money I am using to bet, emotions gone and I win than before. How about you people, are you high odd punter or low odd. Can you also tell us your experience? At you losing or you make profit from the odds you are taking?

I prefer the odds in the 1.5-3 range for single events and up to 15-20 for multibets. Betting with odds less than 1.2 makes no sense - even if you win 20% of the profit, given that you risked 100%, there is no feeling of victory or satisfaction. As for addiction, this danger lies in wait better at any odds. If I feel like I'm thinking too much about betting or getting too involved in it, I pause.
619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: June 14, 2022, 03:16:47 PM
I have a feeling that while indeed some of the cars do bounce badly, all this new drama about the health hazard may be triggered in order to:
* get some more attention on Hamilton, Mercedes and their sponsors
* if it succeeds, by chance, and a regulation is imposed, then they hope that all the cars may have to get a "safety margin" so the car is not bouncing and then maybe the Mercs will be on top again

I find pretty much laughable (in a pretty sad way) that when Hamilton has a problem, people should make regulations for him to be fine, but when regulations are to be made, he may not comply (see the piercing safety regulation and drama).

It is obvious that the constructors of Mercedes made a mistake (somewhere in the design) and they cannot raise the clearance, because then their backlog will be catastrophic. So they raise this noise so that the federation will force all the teams to do what is beneficial to Mercedes. A working but dastardly strategy. By the way, I don't know how it will help Hamilton personally because he rides worse than a teammate.

This is serious? That is, there really are people whose analysis is so good that they can beat the bookmakers? Let's say this is so (I don't believe in it), but then why would they advise someone instead of playing on behalf of many front men and earning much more money than they receive from consultations? I don't see any logic in this. I know that information providers earn money, but their earnings are understandable - their job is to provide information and the better does the analysis himself.
