Guys keep in mind, regardless of the length of your passphrase, bruteforcing will eventually find accounts. I'm actually surprised this hasn't become more prevalent. Since each wallet is ONLY a passphrase and not a username and passphrase to authenticate against, and there is not a lockout on accounts for how fast you can check a passphrase (unless the blockchain does it). All someone needs to do is bruteforce continually till it happens upon a account. Since everyone is essentially using one username which is identical for all of us and it's impossibly hard to change it once you have one (replotting).
Luckily mine is huge, but with time it will also be broken by a brute force. I'm not certain of the speed at which you could check passwords, but I assume with scripts and modern GPUs you could do some serious bruteforcing on Burst.
"mine is huge" [passphrase] .... that sounds like you get a longer BURST address when you have a longer passphrase. When you create a new wallet, it will tell you that it is new. So, do watch for that message, ... or otherwise you could clean out that found account, ... Short, each passphrase gives you one and only one BURST address, but one BURST address can be created with multiple passphrases. If you create a new passphrase a new BURST address, you could then add one character to see how the BURST address would have changed. Maybe you are lucky, or maybe you find a pattern to predict the next one. 1 => BURST-X5JH-TJKJ-DVGC-5T2V8 2 => BURST-LTR8-GMHB-YG56-4NWSE 11 => BURST-FXHG-6KHM-23LE-42ACU 12 => BURST-DQXP-7DS6-9Q9S-74XRT

Market survey: What do you think about a hardware wallet for Bursts, like https://www.buytrezor.com/ ? If enough interest exists, we will develop it. I think it's a great idea.. note that it does require rewriting the curve25519 library I believe.. I was going to implement it for Nxt and it seemed like a simple project but turned into a fairly big one. Exactly! Before investing time, effort and money I wanted to make sure it is needed. Thanks for the reply. BTW, my idea is to use a unique way of two SIM card like cards. The nano card with the instruction of the coin, and the normal size SIM for the wallet. Said that, it would be possible to change the SIMs to use the same hardware for NXT, BURST, ... or any other coin. It is an initial idea, I need to study if that is possible. I was inspired of a company who is using SIM cards for instructions at their electrical switches. Needs to be a programmable sim....not way am i just "being given a passphrase" But yeah....sim's is kewl...but y 2? 1 is good, and it can contain info about the coin. ... said the knowledgeable !!!

Anybody knows when petabyte asset will pay dividends I am sure they will pay within the next couple of hours, ...

Did anybody get any dividends from that asset ?
I ask the same question about HardInvest, ...

Interesting comparison. However, in regard to BURST mining there might be a small difference, that could change the statistic ;-) I assume that the tests of that hard disks were made with "normal" usage, that means a mixture of read and write cycles. BURST mining plots a file first ("one time" writing) and then it reads a portion during mining for each block, which is about every 4 minutes.

its about time some1 in the know went and updated the OP...
past couple of days i havent had much paid out from Mininghere pool, so ive decided to have a go at some of the other pools
the information about which pool to join, based on the what the calculator says and the average payout of the pools miners, is hardly telling me anything, if anything just confusing me more :/
im trying the Devs V2 pool atm, but keep getting "no valid shares to submit to pool" at each block (oh now i see one of the instances has found a share, wow - so it appears to be working, and another instance found 2 shares from same block, so dont be put off when you see 'No valid shares to submit to pool' for a while!)
all i did was move my generated plots on each drive into the pocminer_pools\plots folder on each drive, as you need 1 instance of pocminer_pool miner for each plots folder you have.. (^ for those not so PC savvy)
Luck is still a big factor! Usually that smooths out over the days to reach the mathematical average. E.g., if one day is found nothing, then maybe next days there are found 6, so the average of these two days is (0+6)/2 = 3 The average payout is even more tricky: E.g., if miner A has a lots of hard disk space, and miner B has very little, then it is likely that A will find (more) blocks than B. However, LUCK is even there and the smaller miner might find the next block with little space while the miner A with big space found nothing. In my opinion you can hardly influence that with "payout" formulas. Pool jumping das not change the luck, but can influence if you see every hour a few BURSTs or every second day some 1000s of BURSts. I would only change a pool if they are down. Dev pool I have not seen down, so stay with them as long as you can.

which pools better to use? What are their settings, url etc?
At http://burstcoin.eu/pools you can see a list of pools. Check them out. Pools usually have a link "How to Mine" explaining the settings for that pool. Remember, that each reward assignment takes 4 confirmations. That means, you cannot test this pool for a minute and then go to the next. Basically the members of a pool share the income of all mining rewards. How "fair" they pay out is discussed here very often. Mathematically the ideal pool would be if your hard disk size for mining is similar to the others of the same pool. http://burstcoin.eu/calculator shows you what you can expect (in the ideal case). In reality there is a factor "Luck" See it like a lottery. As more tickets you buy, as more chances to win you get. But still Luck can change the real payout to the winner, while the chance to win still is for tickets the same average.

Elmit = timk ? Similiar style of writing. I recommend ignore button.
Doubt it. Timk pushed price down...and elmit dumps....maybe trying to push price down...but anyway...he is in taiwan, according to ebay timk wasn't. How do I dump??? Did you get the information how to recalculate the HardInvest? Didn't YOU made the calculation?

Asswipe: you questioned my investment in Burst, I figured my demonstrating I held 2.5M Burst would resolve that issue. Guess not. You're still an asswipe. El_I _lie: You claim to have this physical asset backing your virtual asset - Would a pic be too much ? Or do I have to track down your physical address? I don't care about your investment in Burst. I don't understand what it would resolve. Why do you need a picture? To see the harddisks? What proof would that give you? The blockchain proves it. Maybe I miss interpret your question, but a hard disk, physically, or in a cloud does not proof anything. The result counts, which is mined with that hard disk space to get rewards. and that is splitted to the asset holders.

I don't work for HardInvest or any affiliated body. I've invited you to a burstcoin discussion. Done here. Bye.
I thought you are one of the new PR team member. Hardinvest = crowetic + irontiga + fanepatent + pool for profits of our own and our miners PR team was founded my mmmaybe to promote Burst. 100% not affiliated!! Sure, we have all gotten to know and trust each other, but this team is not for personal gain!! Anyway, no more from me, i'm in the burstforum convo if u need me. I have assets of HardInvest (since you urged me to buy some, I did!) and I want to know how you calculated the dividends. Is that a too difficult question? I think I remember, that you said that YOU calculated the dividends, so now I ask, how did you calculate it.
