If the Afghanistan batsmen could have given New Zealand U19 a target of 120 runs, Afghanistan U19 might have won. New Zealand Under-19 batsmen had to fight hard to achieve a 92-run jay target against the Afghans. New Zealand Under 19 team won by one wicket dramatically.
You are disappointed with Afghanistan? New Zealand just managed to scrape through. With just one wicket remaining, they still needed 2 runs to win. The match would have swung either way. Firstly, in the first match, the team that Bangladesh U19 team faced was much stronger than Bangladesh.Due to which the Bangladesh team was very nervous and even batted and bowled badly with them which ultimately resulted in losing to the Bangladesh team.However, in yesterday's match, Bangladesh U-19 team played well with Ireland U-19 team. The fact that Ireland U19 team is less strong than Bangladesh is evident from their batting and bowling performance.As a result, Bangladesh won against Ireland in this match.
It was a close match nonetheless. In their first match, Irish cricketers destroyed USA. But Bangladesh proved to be much tougher opponents. Even then, it was a close match. And given the fact that Bangladesh is quite strong in age group cricket, it was a decent performance from Ireland. Kian Hilton was unfortunate to miss the century, and then Scott MacBeth picked up crucial wickets. Reuben Wilson was injured and couldn't complete his quota, but he is regarded as the future of Irish pace attack. And in case MacBeth can integrate well in to the national team, then Irish selectors will be able to resolve their long standing issue of the absence of a quality spin bowler. |

The Indian team didn't lose any test series at home for a decade and has yet to lose any test series in away condition since 2021-22 but we have to believe that they are inferior because they lost the WC finals.
Don't get me wrong, they can still lose the upcoming series as no one can predict the future but why talk nonsensical stuff without any reason? One must be smoking weed or have to be retarded to post such stuff with so much confidence. If these kinds of posts keep coming then I suppose this thread should die or must be locked for good because it's bad and hardly contributes to the dead cricketing community in this forum.
LOL.. agreed. The longer the format of the game, the more biased it becomes towards the stronger teams. India is the strongest cricket team at this point, and that dominance is very evident in test format. Australia can offer some competition to India, but there is a wide gap between these two teams in test format. Limited overs format involves a bit of luck as well. So even if India is the strongest team, it is not necessary that they win all the time. But giving performance in ODI as an excuse to mock the Indian test team is pure BS. |

Yes you are right Namibia bowling was good. By the way it is better to say that both teams bowled really. From Australia U19 Callum Vidler was good he collected 4 wickets. He is the player of the match too.
From Namibia Jack Brassell bowled well and collected 3 wickets.
I watched the second innings of the match live on Disney+ Hotstar. Both Jack Brassell and Hanro Badenhorst were impressive. At one point, Australia were 57/5 and at this point there was a realistic chance of a Namibian win. But then the partnership between Raf MacMilllan and Hugh Weibgen took them home without much trouble. But even then, Namibia has plenty of positives to take away from this match. They have two matches remaining now - versus Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. If they are able to win even one of them, then they can keep their heads high. |

That's true man Khulna tiger did a great performance today they are top 3 batsman did excellent performance specially Evin Lewis, Anamul Haqe and afif Hussain. Anamul Haqe take the player of the match batch. But if I talk about barisal team then mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal they did great mushfiqur Rahim takes 68 run from only 39 ball but after doing this kind of performance they just lose for their worse bowling performance.
When Fortune Barishal posted a daunting total of 187/4, I thought that they were going to win. Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim worked very hard to take them there against the formidable bowling combination of Oshane Thomas, Nahidul Islam and Nasum Ahmed. But then Khulna Tigers had other ideas. The opening partnership between Anamul Haque and Evin Lewis added 77 runs, with Lewis ending up with a strike rate of 240.90. And apart from Dunith Wellalage, none of the Barishal bowlers could standup against the Khulna batsmen. |

And then we have the ICC Under-19 World Cup taking place at South Africa. Anyway, in today's match Fortune Barishal will take on Khulna Tigers. Barishal has some big names, such as Fakhar Zaman, Abbas Afridi, Mahmudullah and Ibrahim Zadran. They have played only one match till now and a win today will take them to the top of the table.

Bangladesh under 19 vs Ireland under 19
Right now Ireland is batting. And I think they are going to post a huge total, to be honest. Because they have already scored 219 and they still have five wickets in hand. Yes, I know that it is almost towards the end of the innings. But Ireland still have 10 balls in hand and they are trying to accelerate. I think the score that they will get is probably around 235. That is definitely not going to be an easy total for Bangladesh to chase.
Australia under 19 vs Namibia under 19.
We all know that Australia is going to win this match. They only have a target of 92 to chase. Because Namibia under 19 was all out for 91. This is going to be easy for Australia under 19.
Namibia could manage just 91 against Australia, but they already picked up two wickets. They have some high quality pace bowlers, and one of them (Jack Brassell) picked up the wicket of Australian opening batsman Sam Konstas. And then Hanro Badenhorst nabbed the other opener Harry Dixon. If their fielders had held on to the catches, then Australia would have lost even more wickets. Anyway, they are playing against one of the strongest teams in the tournament and they should try to take away whatever positives they get from this match. |

Bangladesh U19 team's sixth wicket partnership was very good.We saw that Bangladesh U19 team lost four wickets for just 50 runs from there to 127 runs and then the fifth wicket fell. When the Bangladesh U19 team put together a strong pair, many thought that Bangladesh might win the match. Since then the Bangladesh U19 team kept losing their wickets at regular intervals.Two players of Bangladesh U19 team got out for zero runs in this match which resulted in Bangladesh U19 team getting completely knocked out of the match and eventually they lost the match by 67 runs.
As I had mentioned previously, Bangladesh had to ensure that even if they lose it had to be with a small margin. But yesterday they lost to India by 84 runs. And this means that it will be extremely difficult for them to get to Super6. In all probability, one team from Group B is going to qualify (England, West Indies and South Africa), and that means that only one slot is left for the other three groups. It can be either Bangladesh from Group A, or Sri Lanka from Group C or New Zealand from Group D. Right now, Bangladesh has a lower probability. |

Finally Pakistan managed to avoid whitewash by winning the fifth and final match of the T20I series. I thought that they were going to lose again, as they could only make a total of 134/8. New Zealand went with an unchanged squad, and Tim Southee, Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson made life difficult for the Pakistani batsmen. Still Pakistan managed a decent total thanks to Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan. Haseebullah Khan, the debutant got out for a duck. In return, New Zealand could not get to three digits, as Mohammad Nawaz and Iftikhar Ahmed struck at crucial intervals.

Chattogram Challengers got bowled out for just 121 in their match against Khulna Tigers. So far all four matches in Bangladesh Premier League have been low scoring. The highest score so far have been 180 from Chattogram Challengers, in their match versus Sylhet Strikers. I don't know why they are staging so many matches at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. This stadium offers a lot of support for the spinners, and as a result anything above 140-150 can be considered as a winning total. In today's match the off-spinner Nahidul Islam picked up 4 wickets.

No big surprises today at the ICC Under-19 World Cup. Pakistan Under-19s are going to win their match against Afghanistan Under-19s by a big margin. Afghanistan are 95/6 and they need another 190 runs. England got two points against Scotland, after bowling out the latter for just 174 runs. A place in Super6 is still not guaranteed for England, as they have South Africa and West Indies in the same group. And India may get 2 points against Bangladesh. Bongs are struggling at 91/4, against a target of 252. Saumy Pandey of India has figures of 6-1-8-2 at this point.

Agreed. He is easily one of the best weapons of the Australian team across all formats and his consistency is seriously something else. His injuries sidelined him way too often sadly.
I feel he is better than Starc, but not better than Cummins who is a proper all-rounder in my opinion.
In terms of batting, Hazlewood is a proper tailender when compared to both Starc and Cummins. Anyway, he is 33 years old and has another 3-4 years of international cricket left (provided he stays injury-free). And Hazlewood is one of those players who participate in all the formats. And this increases the probability of getting injured. Actually Cricket Australia should ask players like Hazlewood and Starc to focus on test format. But then I am not sure whether these players will agree to that, since they just landed with lucrative deals in IPL. |

Fortune Barisal defeated Rangpur Riders by 5 wickets. Fortune Barisal's bowlers made good use of the decision to field first after winning the toss and restricted Rangpur Riders to just 134 runs due to the excellent bowling of Barisal's players. Fortune Barisal went down to bat with a target of 135 runs and won very easily. Rangpur Riders could not bowl an attacking bowling attack. Rangpur Riders must play good batting and bowling in the next matches otherwise they will not be able to win the match. If the openers of Rangpur Riders could have made good runs in today's match then maybe they could have set a bigger target on Fortune Barisal then it would have been very easy for Rangpur Riders to win the match.
Fortune Barishal struggled, but managed to win the match. The target set by Rangpur Riders was not that large, but Shakib Al Hasan and Hasan Murad managed to tie them down. In the end, the sixth wicket partnership between Shoaib Malik and Mahmudullah took them home. Rangpur captain ran out of bowling options in the end, as he completely bowled out his best bowlers. BTW, Dunith Wellalage was exceptional in the first innings. He returned figures of 4-0-17-1. I am sure that Sri Lankan selectors are noting down his performance. |

Bangladesh have been able to break the most reliable partnerships but the amount of runs India have scored so far is enough to defend today's match. If Bangladesh can keep India Under 19 within 250 runs then the game could be a contest. However, compared to the past, the bowling line of Bangladesh could not create much more pressure today. Maruf Mridha of Bangladesh has picked up two wickets so far but other bowlers have not bowled very well but I haven't seen any erratic bowling. However, if Bangladesh can bat well in today's match, it will be possible for Bangladesh to win.
India may get to 240-250, as they are 208/5 currently. And against a weak team like Bangladesh, that should be more than enough to win. Bangladesh need to make sure that they get to a decent total even if they lose today's match. That would help them to get to Super 6. In the other match, Pakistan is looking quite comfortable against Afghanistan. They are 235/5 after 44 overs, and may get to 280-300. And in the third match, Scotland is struggling against England at 155/8. Apart from Jamie Dunk and Owen Gould none of the other Scottish batsmen could make sizable contributions. |

Yes I hope, Bangladesh U19 team can win against India U19, they have that ability. I have seen both teams perform well in recent times, so we can never predict which team will win. You might look at recent wins against South Africa and Afghanistan, but if you look at the U19 Asia Cup last month, you'll see Bangladesh's performance there. Bangladesh defeated India by four wickets in the semi-finals of the Asia Cup and became the champions of the Asia Cup. Any team can win, but I can't guarantee which team will win, I hope there will be enough fight in the match.
Yeah.. I forgot about the 2023 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup. India was not in good form in that tournament. In group phase, they finished at second place in Group A after losing a match to Pakistan (fast bowler Mohammad Zeeshan picked up 4 wickets in that match). And in the semi-finals, they got bowled out for 188 against Bangladesh and latter won the match by 4 wickets. And Bangladesh won the final, by defeating United Arab Emirates (UAE had defeated Pakistan in the semi-finals by 11 runs). Anyway, let's see. Fingers crossed for this match. |

Pakistan have already lost 4 out of 5 T20I series against New Zealand. However, considering the overall aspect, seeing New Zealand strong on New Zealand soil, it is predicted that New Zealand will win in the fifth match. Fortunately, if Pakistan can turn around, maybe the whitewash can be prevented, and I don't think Pakistan can turn around. However, we have to wait till 21 January 2024 to watch the last match.
Pakistan may try hard for a consolation win, but then New Zealand may also use this opportunity to give chances to some of their bench players. Remember that this series is a warmup ahead of the T20I World Cup. Their outlook for the world cup now looks bleak. I also think that Hazlewood deserve man of the match award for his incredible bowling performance. He had destroyed the top order batting line-up of West Indies in the second innings. I believe that Australia will win the second test match too by dominating against West Indies. Hazlewood will get the man of the series award if he can take seven to eight wickets in the second test too.
Hazlewood is an under-rated bowler, compared to Starc and Cummins. Unlike the other two, he doesn't have raw pace, and relies more on seam movement and swing to take the wickets. And also, he comes as the first change bowler and hardly ever opens the bowling. That is also one of the reasons. But over the years, he has done a splendid role for the Australians. And the best part is that he still have another 3-4 years of prime cricket remaining with him. He was also exceptional during the series against Pakistan, which got concluded recently. |

Bangladesh did pretty well recently and the series was tied but hosts are most likely the favorites to win a series and that is what happened while Pakistan also giving some excellent individual performance but not enough to beat the opposition. Still one T20I is left hope Pakistan can put up good fight to avoid the white wash or else it will become big negative for them especially when not much time left for T20 world cup.
New Zealand is missing a few of their key players such as Kyle Jamieson and therefore Pakistan can't give the excuse that Naseem is absent. Honestly, I expected better from them, after the fight they put up in Australia. Especially the new bunch of pacers (Khurram Shehzad, Aamir Jamal and Mir Hamza) bowled beautifully in Australia. But then Shehzad got injured and Aamir lost his form in New Zealand. Batting is still a big worry for Pakistan. The top-order batsmen are simply not scoring enough runs to win matches for them. |

Indians have been in terrific form during recent times, and they whitewashed the tri-series against South Africa and Afghanistan recently. Bangladesh does relatively better in age group cricket, but they are no match for the Indians. All Bangladesh can hope for is a smaller margin of defeat, which would keep their hopes of qualifying for the Super6 alive. A heavy defeat would make it almost impossible to do so, as only two of the second placed teams will qualify. |

in First match Ireland U19 shows domanting performance against United States of America U19 by winning 7 wickets. the man of match award goes to Oliver Riley from Ireland U19 for his brilliant bowling performance 3/21 in his bowling spell that helped his team to restricted USA U19 in All out in 105 runs. Second match. South Africa U19 won the match by 31 runs againist West Indies U19. Wi U19 All out in just 254 runs jn 42th over of the match. brilliant bowling from Kwena Maphaka took fifer 5/38 and All out west indies U19.
Ireland has two tough matches coming up - against India and Bangladesh. And India is one of the favorites to win this tournament. They completely dominated the tri-series with South Africa and Afghanistan, which was scheduled a few days before the start of the World Cup. Anyway, there were plenty of positives for Ireland to take away. A lot of funding was made to age group cricket in Ireland during the last few years, and they are reaping the reward now. Now coming to South Africa, they were always quite strong in age group cricket. However, many of these players will go on to represent other countries such as Australia, England and New Zealand in future. |
