however even though some countries have ETF markets everyone is waiting for the 'first mover advantage' of a US ETF
Yeah, BlackRock like companies sitting on a pile of cash that can be injected into the markets if they got the approval. These players are not like elon or some social media figure. They are some real deal and they know the business. Bitcoin supply is limited so they can grab a portion of the market and use it to manipulate it in their favour. Moving the btc price a few thousand of dollars is not so big deal for these giants. |

Ha ha, may be "Spartan memeber". By the way, why do we need another rank anyway? Is there any flow in the current ranking system or it is not serving the purpose it intended to? Perhaps many new members do not know but there are some special titles in the forum like " Donators and VIPs". They are just some prestigious titles for those who donated 10 to 50 BTC to the forum a very long time ago. I am not sure if we still have any active VIPs in the forum or not. I don't think any institution is trying to control the market, BTC network is decentralized; so it cannot be controlled by anyone, what you are describing is different from what control is. What you are describing is simply that more people and institutions are joining the network, and it is normal. People had and still have wrong impressions about BTC and the network, but many of them later change their ideas to become adopters, it does not mean that they want to control it, which they can't obviously.
Officially they are indeed not trying to control the market. But these institutions are sitting on a pile of reserve cash, so if they want, they can surely be in a position to control the market. That's my biggest fear. Big cash rich corporates can indeed buy a huge amount of bitcoins from the market and use that bitcoins to manipulate the market. Corporate games are dirtier than we can think of. Couple of weeks back, I saw a news that a small country called Bhutan is setting up a Bitcoin mining firm. So countries have started taking part in the game and it's not good. The only way Bhutan earns money is through tourism. Also, the place is cold so it is ideal for a Bitcoin mining firm. They also run four major hydroelectric facilities, some small facilities as well. They are in a very good position to operate a Bitcoin firm. For being operated and controlled by a government their bitcoin firm can be a potential source of income for the country. Perhaps it's not good for the overall bitcoin market but it makes them a potential candidate to make bitcoin as a legal tender. |

Just like I have said before, merit system has been the reason we have quality posts on this forum. If merit system was not introduced, this forum would be a place of trash posts.
You can noticed someone not posting as good as another person, but having more merit, but still he is having merits and ranking higher. People that are giving merit can be partial, especially those on local boards, but merit still ensures that posting quality on this forum is achieved.
Merit system is not a direct cause of quality posts on the forum. Qualified content existed even before the implementation of this system. Moreover, many users who have been here on the forum almost since its inception claim that there were more high-quality discussions than now. Merits did not affect the improvement of the quality of the posts. They just contributed to reducing the number of users who spam. In my point of view, the most notable thing the merit system does is that it draws a line between quality posters and spammer. The higher number of merits below your forum names represents his dedication, contribution, and ability of that person to make quality comments. When i saw some posts that got merited i tried to read them all in case i might learn something new. |

I have been in crypto for more than 5 years and i have seen a lot of incidents within the industry. There was a time when government and even a lot of people call Bitcoin a scam or a scammer currency. Many thought that only hacker scammers use Bitcoin for money laundering, drug dealing etc. But now the situation has changed and it's good to see how institution chasing each other to not be late to join the industry. The situation is so intense that now what matter most is who will control the market. In the current situation, it seems, no one wants to be the last one to jump over space.

But assuming that you do, the market is very volatile. You can't simply use a grid bot, or follow a certain strategy and expect money to keep flowing. So if you don't know what you're doing, daytrading is probably something you should stay away from.

I don't think that's a good idea. I believe in HOLDING. Long-term investments are the best because if you have enough knowledge about the market and how it works, you can surely gain a lot of profit. If you can analyze the history of a coin and how it has behaved for the last 5 or 10 years, you can surely predict whether it will go up or down. Not always, but most of the time. On short-term trading, there are many things like bots, AI trading, and up-down signal groups. But I think they are all scams. I have tried several times. Failed miserably. Most projects don't even survive that long and dude if you are not a holder you do not know how boring it is to hold a 3 long year with 2 years of continuous bear market and one year of sideway market. In this long period of time market gave us a lot of speculative chances to get some profits with short-term trades but i was not able to take it because of my lack of knowledge about the proper way to do that. Yes, that's very likely to earn that much in trading if you've got a bigger capital. I'd just say that it's possible but making it in actuality is where the real challenge starts. I don't know how many mistakes you'll have to make for you to make that amount that you're targeting. Here's a piece of tip, most of the people that are day trading are getting rekt. Now, that's the reality that has to be taken into consideration if you've got that plans of making that much daily in trading. It sounds easy but it isn't and once you're able to make that then you can consider yourself a legend. 90% of people do fail to make any profits from trading but there are still 10% who do make profits. I want to be in that 10% and I am not a newbie in this sector. I just need some guidance to find my way to do that. I just want to hear how other are doing it so that i can improve my own strategy. |

Do you think everyone will sell to institutional investors? I don't agree that it will be like that, because plan B is to not sell BTC even when they offer us some crazy amounts for it. Besides, if you can use BTC to pay for services and goods, the question arises, why sell?  There will always be someone who wants to sell off their Bitcoin for some useless paper cash. Not all of us here for long term vising many investors just wants to consider btc as a speculative assets. If it's not true then why BTC price seeing heavy resistance in 32k level. Someone is booking their profits there in fiat currency. Using BTC to pay service and goods is not likely to happens very soon. Peoples are still not very cautious perhaps that is the reason we see thousands of altcoin having billions of marketcap. |

Actually I can't help but wonder how crypto awareness would have spread if there was know forum like this, though I have not really gain anything financially from this forum yet but the level of crypto knowledge that has been impacting on me on a daily basis is actually helpful,
When someone gives you money, you take it and spend it what happens after then? Your money gone and you had to look for another source of money. But when someone gives you knowledge you can reuse that knowledge again and again to improve your financial health. Satoshi gave us Bitcoin as a gift and this forum is the gateway to access that gift. This is the oldest forum of Bitcoin and it is like a footprint of Bitcoin where every step has been recorded. And the good thing is that through the forum most people were able to earn some money through Campaigns, so tell me what platform would have been more better than this forum?
I know so many persons has other major sources of income aside from this forum while some persons depends on the forum to earn a living, so tell me if there was know forum like this how things would have been for you?, I love learning so I'm always here to learn so please share your knowledge and views.
If you only came here to find a source of income or to learn about how you can do that then you are in the wrong place dude. Youtube and Google have way more stuff on that topic. This forum offers very limited options to earn money and someone depending on the forum for their livelihood is hilarious.
