601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What one change to Bitcoin can make it's adoption faster? on: November 27, 2023, 09:29:46 AM
If we are looking to change something it should be how to improve the network to make it more decentralized and censorship resistant and not how to attract more people. Bitcoin was not designed to be used by everybody cause the majority are not interested in privacy and are not bothered by the government monitoring them.

Bitcoin is not a company which is bothered about growth and profits but about fulfilling its goal of eliminating the need for third parties and offering financial freedom to those who want it.
Although there is some middle ground where improving one aspect of bitcoin or the other can make the experience better, one of those aspects is transaction cost and scalability.

602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 27, 2023, 07:19:58 AM
The fifth round is usually the most decisive round in the group stage phase, at this point, clubs are either already facing disqualification or facing a drop to the Europa league and will be desperate for some sort of hope. This makes the fixture very unpredictable regardless of which teams are playing against which.

There are also those teams that have already made it through and may want to give a couple of their players a rest for league competition. Manchester City for example may be tempted to look beyond their UCL fixture to the visit of Tottenham to the Etihad, which is a must win match for both clubs which have failed to win in their last two and three matches respectively.

There will be no shortage of drama.

603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Many Bets to Know How Good Enough You Are? on: November 27, 2023, 07:09:58 AM
Assuming I want to go pro on betting...
What exactly do you mean by go pro on betting? If that is to rely fully on the income from gambling without any other source of income, that is not a very good idea. Gambling is far to unpredictable to rely on regardless of how good you are, and it is an addictive activity, so you should try to do it with as little pressure as possible.

Absolutely and to watch Everton playing tonight was embarrassing to say the least,to me it looked like they were a team from Championship and not a team from Premier League.I don't know if Manchester United is such a great team but surely against such Everton they totally dominated the game and scored three goals easily...
Everton were not that bad for most of the game and I will like to think the scoreline does not represent the sequence of play during the game.
Manchester United scored their second goal at the 56' mark, at which time the penalty was only their second shot on or off target after almost one hour of play. During this period Everton had created lots of chances but were not clinical in front of goal, and after the second goal they lost most of their fighting spirit and some of the fans started to trod out.

Gernacho's goal was absolute genius, tailored to perfection. I will vote his goal over Rooney's even though that was a derby goal.

605  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you follow these tips then (Hacker challenge) your bitcoin impossible to hack on: November 26, 2023, 05:50:44 PM
Majority of your suggestions will already be handled if you simply use a hardware wallet or an airgapped device. Keeping your bitcoin in a wallet which you use on a day to day basis exposes you to a lot of risks which is much better avoided.

7  Never use ( one) 1 online wallet or one crypto exchange site, always divide your crypto and put/use it 25% for per wallet
This is not necessary, more so if all the wallets are on the same device.
What you can have is a cold storage wallet and a hot wallet.

8 Use different email address for different wallet and exchange site
Never use a wallet that requires email address.

I had my reservations about this process when I first commented on this thread, but 24 hours later I will say I have been impressed by how much effort has been made. I will wait to ensure that each user can in fact convert BCD into any crypto of their choice and then withdraw that.

We've been able to get to the bottom of each case faster than ever before, and this account will always be open to listening to user issues and complaints henceforth.
Out of curiosity, do you have a way to check for other customer complaints outside the forum and is there an effort being made to fix those too?

Beware of the Telegram account @roii99s, as it appears to now be in the hands of a criminal.
That can as well be changed by whoever is in control of the account at the moment.

I do not think the situation suggests at all that the user was kidnapped, possibly lost access to their account and has not been able to recover it, or had an accident.

This is a good example of how escrow could have gotten the seller their full payment after the disappearance of the buyer, but again, seems like a bit of a tale to me.
If the buyer never received the product, will the escrow opt to give full payment to the seller, or wait to get a word from all involved parties.

Manchester United has been pretty shitty and we only won by 1 goal difference on the last 4 wins and that is not a good statistic considering that 3 of them are lower tier teams like Luton, Fulham and Sheffield.
Not just the last four matches, all of their victories in the EPL this season has been by a goal difference and all came against teams in the bottom half of the table.
They have won four of their last five, but have been far from convincing in the league and I will be very surprised if they come away with a victory in today's fixture.

Aston Villa continues the log list of surprises fr this match week.

We're stoked to hear what you think, so feel free to drop your thoughts after!
8/10. Great work from the team.
I particularly like how the people snooping in on your privacy are made to be the "wrong doers" and not those who are seeking anonymity.

Good graphics too.

For individuals grappling with debt, overcoming addiction, be it to gambling or any other vicenor simply trying to make ends meet...
Anyone in this situation should be focused on getting their life and finances together before considering investing. You cannot invest in anything if you do not have the means to, and to have the means you need enough income to take care of essential needs and leave a little extra to play with.

Bitcoin is not peculiar and is not a privilege, you just need to want it and be willing to put in the work for it.

Ouch, what a round. I picked 5/7 wrong outcomes so far. Luckily it's the same for y'all.
It has been that type of week which was impossible to predict. Anyone who had even a decent week will fly up the table as every other person will look stagnant to them.
Besides the wrong results it has been an amazing week of football. Really surprised with Newcastle and Luton, did not expect both clubs to take all three points.

Manchester City already scored the first goal and I think I was expecting much more from Liverpool during this game but from what I am seeing for me the game is already over unless Klopp manages to motivate them in the break enough to come back in the game,so far I am not liking what I am seeing from them.
The game is far from over. As we saw in the final minutes of the first half, Liverpool could easily have one attack, a goal and the wind shifts to their sail changing the whole dynamics of the match.

I will not blame Liverpool much for their performance, Manchester City is just that team, especially when they push defenders into midfield and get that player overload, they can be impossible to play against.
Liverpool defended decent except for the goal where they made it too easy for Ake to get into space and find the pass after Allison's error.

Halland to 50 in 48 games is just ridiculous.

Situations like these is damage control at best. The team notices they have a bad rep on the forum and are working to draw a smoke screen over that while the real issues still exists. I will be willing to bet that this is the platform where they get the most criticism and scam allegations, but not all their victims are here.

If you really want to solve "all" issues, your support team should be active and you will take your time to address each case (not just on bitcointalk) to close them all with the best possible outcome.

I will circle back to this in 2-3 business days to see how much cases hs been fixed.

Wallet that can be used to keep satoshi (bitcoin). The smallest unit of bitcoin is also called satoshi. I do not see anything bad about the name so far you under more about bitcoin.
Not to derail the conversation, but the creators would have had it in mind that the name of this wallet will raise eyebrows and bring them some traffic through posts like this on forums and social media.
Wallet of sats will have conveyed the message with no ambiguity about what the origin of the wallet.

Looking forward to the clash at the Parc de Princes between PSG and Newcastle.
The PSG fans will definitely be coming in with a lot of energy to spur the team to success and will have at the back of their mind the experience their team went through at the away fixture.

Both teams are playing tough matches this weekend, against Monaco and Chelsea and will have to commit energy to that before refocusing to the Champions league, PSG have the benefit of playing a day earlier, we will see if that plays a role in Tuesday's fixture.

617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot games are a waste of time and money (most of the time) on: November 24, 2023, 06:00:16 PM
The adrenaline rush is the reward I get from crash and slot games, more from crash games cause they are more exciting.

I never stake high to enable me get as much goes as possible and I do not put the pressure of expectations on, making me play at a more relaxed pace, like playing a video game.

I've never been lucky with slot games, never, and I am not pleased about it to be honest.
If you have not had luck with it, then quit playing. Games should be fun or profitable.

If it works with the team, they should give us both alternatively, so both Crash and Slot players get to have a bite at the cherry. And those who love both, gets the full package.

Both defences aren't good enough, and both forwards are really good. It looks like a goal garlor fixture to me, but maybe I'm missing something.
They are two of three teams with the least conceeded goals this season, the third is Arsenal.
I know this is not only due to their defensive prowess, keeping the ball reduces the number of attacks the defense faces and by effect the number of goals they let in, but they have very solid defense.

At Liverpool, Van Dijk has been Van Dijk, not committing to many challenges, but decent in the defense, Matip has been very good in the absence of Konate, and Jarell Quansah was good in the absence of Matip. Tsimikas has been the weak link for Liverpool all season.
Diaz, Akanji and Stones has been solid for City with the full backs also doing the job.

For me both defences are good enough.

620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC technology and the need for referral codes/links. on: November 23, 2023, 06:29:19 PM
Is BTC technology a failing/failed technology because it has no referrals, but rely on an exchanges' program which aims for users to earn some dollars by referral codes?
No it is not.
Bitcoin also does not rely on exchange's referral programs. It is more of the exchange seeking exposure and trying to enter the bitcoin market with the number of investors it has.

Would referral codes even be a necessary initiative for the BTC investors and customers who intend to not only earn substantially by trading or HoDling, but by sharing their referral codes/links?
That is for you to decide. There is no link between referral codes and the bitcoin network, if you want to join one run by a third party platform to get paid in whatever currency they are offering, that is a personal decision,
