601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 05, 2023, 07:07:31 PM
Aside the Manchester Derby right now the most one sided derby has to be the German classico between Bayern Munich and Dortmund, I think I would love to see more competition and right now only RB Leipzig can give Bayern Munich the tough time.

The similarities of both is that the two teams dominate their respective leagues and every club in the league are just inferior to them. Bayern as always had the Better of Dortmund and when they do it’s always with large deficits. Leipzig also do not trouble Bayern that much just of recent when they won the super cup and drew in the league but before then even them were easily demolished by Bayern.

The only club that no matter how bad their form is they always turn up against Bayern Munich is the Borussia Monchengladbach, they are the only club that actually upset bayern every season

I am surprised to see the score of this game, they are in the 73rd minute of the game and the home team Heidenhem are leading by a goal. Stuttgart are winning in possession and not in goals. The defense of the home team is very tight and they haven’t allowed Stuttgart to have a lot of shot into their goal post yet. Heidenhem only has two shots on target and were able to convert one of it to a goal.

I am not surprised because I have always had this thinking that once Guirassy gets injured this club will have issues scoring goals. If you look at the stats from their last two league matches which they have Lost, they created more chances than their opponent both failed to score and this shouldn’t be a surprise because their source of goals has always been Guirassy and with him out they are bond to have difficulty converting their chances
602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Casinos Sponsor Sites That Deals With Gambling Addiction on: November 05, 2023, 06:15:55 PM
This is an interesting thing to think about.  You could say casinos sponsoring gambling addiction sites seems shady and  it might seem like a conflict of interest, how can they really want to help if they make money off addiction? But you could also say it shows responsibility if they try to deal with the dark side of their business.  I don't really know where I land on this.  It's complicated.  Seems like good arguments on both sides. I'm curious to see what others think about this.

I would say it’s a good idea, I see where your point is actually, you feel if they should sponsor those addicted they wouldn’t make more money but that’s wrong, once people get addicted to it they wouldn’t be in clear state of mind to actually play the game and the more it hampers their health the more people will actually run from it and that means the casino is actually losing potential customers.

I would say they should actually sponsor them but it is not obligatory on them to do so. We have seen cigarettes companies warning people through advertisements that high consumption of it causes health issues and yet people still Smoke, I would say the casinos should also pick on this too

If this news happens to be true, then the possibility of the Kylian Mbappe joining Real Madrid next summer is very slim because if Real Madrid are still very much interested in the player, they wouldn't have published a disclaimer even if the news in the media isn't true.
I haven't confirmed if the news is true but if the statement is an official statement from the club, them Real Madrid might be lining up for another recognized striker to replace the their former striker Karim Benzema at the club.

The news is definitely true but you’re getting it wrong if you think it reduces the chance of Madrid getting to sign Mbappe. Madrid actually had to do this even if they are in negotiations with Mbappe because if they affirm to it then it is a law violation. You can’t have negotiation with a player still under contract with a club without the club consent and PSG have in the summer stated Madrid have yet to contact them concerning Mbappe and they might be doing the negotiations behind them. So if Madrid had actually accepted that it is true then both Madrid and Mbappe will be face with sanctions and that’s why Madrid had to clear the air.

So this doesn’t mean Madrid will not still go in on Mbappe, i even think they have a deal between themselves already and are just keeping it secret to avoid public eyes and possible FIFA sanctions which is actually the best thing to do
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 04, 2023, 10:00:16 PM
Today's game was indeed interesting to watch. Starting from the beginning of the first kick off down to the last. I saw the performance of Manchester United and how they were able to attain victory before the end of the game. Manchester City won their match with so many goals. Am not surprised by the game because Man city remains the champions, regardless of playing a big team or a small team they always have good performance and try to win their game.

It was a great win for Manchester United because should they lose it will be very bad for their confidence and also the goal scorer which was Fernandez. The captain has been the more under pressure with some club legends pushing for him been dropped. Although i would say that Manchester United didn’t deserve to win this match and also  Fulham, a draw will have been the best but football had other ideas. Manchester city on the other hand ran riot on Bournemouth, they have always be in the receiving end with Manchester city. Doku broke records with his five goals contribution, the last I saw that was Pogba against Leeds on opening day.

The lineup wasn’t that bad due to injuries in the Arsenal squad. We played without the hart of Arsenal midfield Odegard but still yet we played a very good game from the beginning until the very moment of the controversial moment that lead to goal. We can all see what happened over there, there are three possible calls that should have made the goal canceled but the referee and the VAR allowed the goal even after some replays that shows the ball was out of play, and there is a possibility of a foul against Gebriel Mangalas.

Lineup seemed bad to me because I was expecting someone technical with the absence of Odegaard but he opted for a central midfielder at that free role. He should have started Viera or Trosarrd in that rule and it would have added something more technical to that midfield. Newcastle won the battle there and should have have won the game with more goals. Arteta was so late with his changes too.

I agree that the goal should not have stood because of the pushing from Jeolington on Gabriel but that’s how sad the referees in the premier league have been inconsistent
605  Other / Meta / Re: A small merit-sending UI tweak on: November 04, 2023, 09:33:23 PM
I didn't thought it like that. I have only sent +- 60 merit my whole life. Yes, for a big merit sender like you, it would only create more problems. We better stick to approach A,B,C then.  Tongue

It’s not necessary I have also had same idea before but it will be like another task for big merit spenders like merit sources because every merit done will require that confirmation message and it will slow the process down. Also the problem with this merit sending issue is mainly due to mistakes like the sender not paying much attention to what he is doing and even with the confirmation message they will still just click yes without actually cross checking it.

I believe it would be necessary to create and pin a thread in the beginners and help section about sending merits to assist newbies in using the merit function

It’s not necessary because they already have some threads that are pined and they contain merit discussion already. Example is the newbies read before posting thread on the beginner and Help bord. Funny enough newbies don’t read them and they end up asking questions about it

So my own other suggestion, PowerGlove is to make add a patch that after sending the merit we should be taken back to the post again just like how it works when posting is done.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 03, 2023, 09:07:45 PM
Yeah that's true because Fulham has a very low performance since last season till now, and they have played 9 matches and won only 4, lose three matches and draw two matches, although considering this record they are good but not good enough to beat Manchester United because irrespective of how Manchester United has been on a serious poor performance this season but I don't think Fulham stance on any chance of winning them. However even if they are playing from home, there advantage will not be enough to win the Manchester United.

Fulham doesn’t stand a chance? I don’t think you have actually witnessed a team in poor run of form or even lacking confidence, a team that is experiencing both of this can be work upon by just any club and currently Manchester United are that club. Fulham should be the more relaxed side in this encounter because United will be under pressure to win and they could use that to hurt them. Fulham haven’t won against United since 2009, when I see stats like this popping out right before a game and the favourite is in a bad shape i normally expect an upset. So in this game I would say Fulham stand a chance to upset united.

If not for the reduction of Cristiano Ronaldo's pace, even at his worst I can still say he is a better attacking option than any player you'll want to call currently representing Manchester United.
Erik Ten Hag made a huge mistake by letting Ronaldo leave. Ronaldo has worked at the highest level of football and whatever he says might be hurting but very correct. Glad he left and now happy playing and scoring goals.

Zidane to Manchester United can never happen. I stand to be corrected but Erik Ten Hag is tactical genius enough to guide Manchester United, he has just been a Fvckn idiot.

Ronaldo will forever be a better attacking option than this lots United have currently if pace is cancelled out. It was sad seeing how United parted ways with Ronaldo even though most of his comments about the club been in static position since 2009 is true, but one thing that I don’t agree with him is stating that the manager needs to show respect before it is reciprocated, that can be true but you can just call your manager out even if he leaves you on the bench. Sir Alex Ferguson who Ronaldo see as a god father says once you think you’re bigger than the manager then one person needs to leave between you too. SAF had similar cases with Beckham and Van Nisteroy in the past and he exiled and sold them and both were the best players in the team at that time. So I disagree that Ronaldo can say anything and it is the truth just because he is arguably the GOAT.
607  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin, when to buy on: November 03, 2023, 06:32:48 PM
DCA is for persons that are buying in smaller units every week or month based on their financial strength. You don't have to wait for the price to keep dropping down before buying because it might not drop and you could miss the opportunity to buy at a lower price. So as you money comes, just buy and hold.

I don’t think it is only for people but smaller satoshi but can also be use by even Those that a lot of money available to buy, this will help them to minimize loss and also maximize profits. Going in all at once even when the price is at his low is not that great than buying at different price ranges with the DCA method.
608  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] What is recommended to follow "Social Media Or DYOR" in the crypto world on: November 03, 2023, 06:24:35 PM
Complexity: We know the fact that Crypto projects can be highly technical, which makes it a big challenge for newcomers to understand them totally.

Research for newbies is very tricky because there are analysis like fundamentals and technicals that need to be done properly, to narrow this down for newbies I would suggest they should stick to bitcoin only, it more trusted and doesn’t need extensive knowledge to invest in, except if it is trading, you just need to just hodl for a very long time, no need for FOMO or anything.

Social media is also a good platform to get good news from but the question is, are they reliable?

Since they are not reliable as you have stated then we can’t quantify the information from there as been good. One thing is avoid those influencers on social media, most are paid just to advertise shitcoins.
609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 02, 2023, 10:13:22 PM
€100million for Ivan Toney, a player that's yet to feature for the UEFA Champions League in his career. Ivan Toney is my favorite Brentford player; I've missed watching the Englishman play for the Bees this season; he made a few indiscretions that resulted up with a FIFA ban for an extended period of time, but he's obviously working and trying to remain in the prerequisite for his comeback next year. Ivan Toney may be overhyped, but he's terrific. I respect the player's confidence in taking penalties, and he has never missed a penalty in a Brentford jersey. We have overhyped guys in the system simply by watching them perform on the field, only to discover they are inconsistent and have minimal to give the club. Ivan Toney is one of Brentford's outstanding frontlines; he's experienced and accessible.

This valuation of money has actually been one of bad effects of the modern day football. A mid table team attacker had one or two outstanding season then we see a Market price which is ridiculous. Some great talents have been wasted because if the Pressures coming from been signed for huge amount. Almost every $100 million player usually have a rough first season and he sometimes gets the backing of the coach and gets better in the following season but most at times there career takes a huge low.

Concerning Ivan Tooney, if he does comes back in form. Then I think we might be seeing the next 100 million rated player. My major reason is the English media usually hype there players and the fellow English clubs who do not mind spending will definitely get him.
610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop the self entitlement claims on others gamblers winnings. on: November 02, 2023, 09:59:35 PM
I am not an expert, but I would are to say giving 100% of ones winnings to charity is rare besides, people on Twitter who are criticizing his fortunate gambler do not keep in their minds that this is a person who gambled 100N, and it is not like other big whales who only gamble for fun because they already are millionaires and stuff like that.

The OP didn’t broaden what actually transpired well, according to what I read on X was that the person he gifted the 100k after winning was actually the person that helped in predicting the game for him or maybe one of those punters that show up they Game and the eventual winner actually went ahead and played that particular game and he won, and his heart of generosity (because I see it as such) he gifted the other punter that amount which causes the fuss by others who thought he should have given more.

For me I don’t see it that way, he didn’t had an agreement to drop a certain amount of money should he win but rather he went ahead to gamble his own money, had he lost would the other punter have compensated him?, this to me is similar to someone discussing a business with you and how it will yield profit and you went ahead to invest in that business with either your money or loan business, I don’t think this person will point hands at you if you gift him anything later because it was never his entitlement.
611  Other / Meta / Re: I raise a motion to create a board where health issues can be discussed. on: November 02, 2023, 09:49:20 PM
It wouldn’t be looking as you want but considering the fact that this forum is for bitcoin and cryptocurrency this health talk’s definitely belongs to the off topic board which we already have. I know your next question is probably why the politics and society board, I would say I don’t know either but even the topics on those boards are looking like topics that belongs to Off topic discussion.

If someone should have a health problem I don’t think Bitcointalk will be the place he will actually come to for solutions like the way we see with cryptocurrency discussions here. As such having a separate board for a discussion that doesn’t happens everyday would simply be looking useless. So my best fit is, it belongs to the Off topic board
612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Late To Invest In Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2023, 08:59:16 PM
You're not late. If you wish to invest in Bitcoin, you can do that when BTC hype has reduced a little. Don't let anyone deceive you. BTC for me is still early in the economy sector and if you wish to own some units you could still make it in the long run. All you need do is either use Dual Investment to catch up with all lows or use DCA

I would simply say don’t wait for the dip or any correction you might be wasting time. The early opportunity of getting bitcoin when it was less than $5000 has gone by and we are face with the possibility that a price less than $20000 isn’t coming any soon, also the possibility of it also dumping a little bit is not visible, it is just speculation so my advice is once you have Money don’t wait for the dip just go straight to invest using DCA method.

The price at $34000 still seems small tip me considering the fact that we still have more than 100 years left to even mine it all. With every halving looking to make the current ATH go up to like 2x or more, in the next 10 years one might have good 10x increase with alt least 2 halving periods in those years. So this current price still is ok to start buying and not waiting for the dump.
613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 01, 2023, 09:39:07 PM
Mbappe has said that he wants to leave PSG, he has the intention to join Real Madrid after his contract expires in PSG. Mbappe only has few months left with PSG because his contract expires in June, 2024. If PSG doesn't want to sell Mbappe in January (the upcoming transfer window), then Mabppe will leave PSG with a free agent. So, PSG won't get anything from Mbappe.

Yep, if Mbappe joins Real Madrid, it will be a perfect addition player for Real Madrid. Mbappe is a missing piece that Real Madrid looking for, he is the right player for Real Madrid striker (CF). With Mbappe, surely Real Madrid lineup will be perfect.  Smiley

Mbappe really wants to leave PSG but it is obvious that he wants to leave on free transfer this is can be said to as a result of getting a commission from the club base on honoring his contract. One club I see him heading to is definitely Madrid. You can see that they seem to have had an agreement that’s why Madrid didn’t bother when PSG was threatening to sell him off.

His pairing on the attack with Vinicius will be scary for defenders but still I feel they need a striker too. Imagine having an attack of Vinicius-Osihmen-Mbappe, that will be the real galatico
614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 01, 2023, 09:28:06 PM
          Manchester United is suffering in the hands of Newcastle United tonight. It is not a surprise to me because I anticipated it. Manchester United actually needs a very notable thing to happen to their team bofore they can start playing good football. Something like;
          • Sacking of the coach
          • Buying of new players
          • Selling of old players
          • Selling of the club
Without some of the above happening, it will be difficult for Manchester United to return to glory.

I would definitely agree with some of your points, and the first that should be done is the sale of the club. The Glazers no matter the amount of money they spend do not seem welcome by United fans and this will create a negative atmosphere in the club. Should a new owner with big check book comes now then he can think of a new strategy on how to get the team to improve by releasing underperforming coach and players.

One thing stands out, United are not the club  they used to be since Ferguson left. The best thing they should have done and yet to do is reducing the amount of expectations on the club and sign a coach or back this current manager because they have switch lots of them. The team project should be rebuilding from scratch with the fan’s lowering there own expectations this way the rebuild can be done. Recycling old players for quick success is not a good option at all. They need to rebuild from scratch
          615  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "change password frequently" on: November 01, 2023, 12:43:25 PM
One of the reason of changing your password regularly doesn’t necessarily mean to avoid getting hack but you might also forget it. Imagine you been logged into this account for so long like a year and something happens to your device which it was logged in, there is possibility that you might have forgotten it since you don’t actually use it often. This is similar to having your accounts saved on password keyloggers too.

Also an hacker might actually be in case trying to break down your period, changing it might make it harder for him to break. Although the regular Changing doesn’t mean something like few weeks, you can make a yearly thing
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 31, 2023, 10:20:18 PM
If we analyze their current performances, I think Tottenham is much stronger than Chelsea. I assume Tottenham must win the match, they play at home and they need 3 points to maintain their position. I'm pretty sure Tottenham will play all out, they won't give a chance for Chelsea players to score goals. Tottenham defenders looks quite solid, it won't be easy for Chelsea attackers to get shot attempts. For the match Tottenham vs Chelsea, I believe Tottenham will win it with 2 goals at least.

Tottenham have improved this season that I would back them against any club in the league this season. That’s how they have seriously become a force to reckon with since Ange Postecoglu took over. Who would have thought that they will be in this position this soon after also losing Harry Kane in the summer. Last two seasons Chelsea swept them off when they face each other four times that season. So definitely the odds will favor them.

But I don’t actually believe Chelsea will play that bad to get battered o, because one thing is Chelsea have played well against the two top 6 six teams they have faced. Arsenal and Liverpool were the two clubs they faced and they played very well and if they should bring this kind of intensitty again they could go home with a point
          617  Economy / Economics / Re: Isn't Fiat the Real Ponzi on: October 30, 2023, 09:32:35 PM
In as much as I don’t like the things surrounding the use of fiat currency, it is never a Ponzi scheme because Ponzi scheme is something you invest in with high hopes of getting lots of profits off it, but at the end nothing to show for it. The thing is fiat is a currency to be use for transactions and not to be hodl on to as an investment asset because of deflationary effects of it. Treat it as a currency that it’s suited for and look for better asset to use as investment tool and you wouldn’t address fiat as a Ponzi scheme

There are things that would actually be wrong to you morally and maybe you don’t have the ability to stop or prohibit that thing, then you let it be. But in his case, he believes gambling is morally wrong and allowing the shop to stay there will be at the detriment of people engaging in it which he doesn’t want, then there are no two options to this other than not leasing his shop to the person.

If he Should lease the shop to the person then is conscience will not be cleared and the best of profit is that which comes with a clear conscience. So my take is for him to follow his conscience except he doesn’t believe again that it is morally wrong

I don’t feel that bitcoin has any competitor to be honest and if they were no Altcoins the adoption of bitcoin doesn’t look like something that would be affected because even now the number of people that go into cryptocurrency are through bitcoin, so even without the other coins they will still come.

All blockchain project is Bitcoin competitor because all other blockchain exists because Bitcoin can’t handle scaling problem before way back when there’s no other popular blockchain alternative such as Ethereum.

And this is why i state that bitcoin blockchain or any of its kind are not it’s competitors. When we say they are competitors then they could solve the problem surrounding bitcoin and better it. But if they don’t solve the problem and people still prefers it than those coming to solve the problems like bitcoin cash proclaimed with scalability then it is no competition to me. Competition is only when people move to the other side but no bitcoin still remains without any
