601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake curse strikes again, rapper loses on Fury, Usyk bet on: May 19, 2024, 07:55:30 AM
I think he should go after other sport as he is losing in boxing.

Since he has not been out publicly to seek for recommendation on where to bet, let him be where he is with the boxing. My concerns about him is always based on the huge amount of money he uses to bet, if it does not affect his emotions when he looses so much like this?

However, him going to bet on the sport bets would make no differences because gambling is strickly a game of luck which sport bets is not exemptional.

So all that matters is his stabilized emotions, his bankrolls and how he is being satisfied with his gambling experiences. If sport bets favours that much I would had been a millionaire by now Lol.
But that guy really need to calm down some bit.
602  Economy / Economics / Financial fact that the authorities would not want you to know. on: May 19, 2024, 06:33:49 AM
I don't know how transparent and genuine other countries governments and their financial regulatory authorities has been with their citizens and the masses entirely, but speaking from experience, my late uncle who died during the the COVID-19 and left over $1,700 for the family in his bank account and after much processes the wife being the next of kin and the family as a whole has been unable to have access to the account and that is just how the money died off and only the government knows the fate of the fund til today.
In my country Nigeria, the government and the financial regulatory authorities has always kept hidden facts from us which would had been an added advantage to our knowledges and even contributes to precaution measures that we could avoid common mistakes that may seem insoluble or a long time to get solutions to it.

I recently came across this  https://youtu.be/s07NUfpPzSM?si=SY8wpCVbjgNHn2zy youTube video which a formal banker from Nigeria discloses about what the bank does not want us to know via how a next of kin would not be accessible to the benefitials bank account that if paraventurely the bank account holder dies, the bank will deny access from the next of Kin to the account if the next of kin is not an automatic signatory to the account or the account holder has not made a written will to determine the legitimacy of the next of kin.
So the bank would go a legal probate process to decide who gets the money.
Meanwhile... This legal probate in my country can take a very long time maybe years ahead to verify the processes which is definitely uneasy to meet up those tasks.
Even after the whole processes is being overcome, the next of kin would be demanded to pay huge sum of money for a legal fees to be able to have access to the account but meanwhile, the next of kin has been mentioned with all necessary requirements being provided during when the benefitial was on the bank account opening processes but the bank could not make the terms and conditions obviously for the account owner to take early awareness of it.

So this is assumed to be why the government and the financial regulatory authorities in my country has been fighting over cryptocurrencies facilitating crypto trading with the naira (#) on the Centralized P2P Exchanges.
The interest of the government is to control the centralized exchange with the forebeing of syphoning our Crypto funds.
Literally they also want to make away with our Crypto assets when we are gone and clearly stated and obvious, there is no next of kin attached to our Crypto Investments.
So, the government would want to also do away with them as they rebels us with the Centralized Fiats.

You can imagine how selfishly logical the governments can be? They tends not to let us know what is crucial and necessary but just concerned about how they can rebel the us.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you disguise on your real gambling lifestyle just to help a friend/relative? on: May 18, 2024, 11:09:13 AM
I am generally not good at disguising, I will say what's on my mind, if not I will turn around and walk away. It's not smart to talk with everyone, no matter how we say it, some people will misunderstand us. So sometimes it's better to keep quiet and mind our own business.

Exactly, it's none of our business no matter even if the person is your blood relative, of course we have the responsibility to guide them but in gambling, I don't think so, I may give a few tries if the person is really close to me and if they don't care then why should I care?

They are adults just like me so they should know what they are supposed to do and not, and if they violate it then they have to face the consequences too.
Well, individual opinions should be accorded but I can tell you that there is no leadership trust of a blind man leading other blinds.
So, there is absolutely no way your advice would have effects to that gambler when obviously the irresponsible gambler is aware that you too is also an irresponsible gambier.
Definitely the gambler would expect you to fix the negative gambling side of yourself up firstly before you can fix him up if actually you know what is right is worth doing and what is wrong is not worth it.

At some points, we have to be self-sacrifice to achieve a goal if cares to help the gambler out because you will have to play that disguise role but if you don't care, then the choice would always be left for the gambler to decide his fate.
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: May 17, 2024, 08:23:42 PM
And would you agree with him in implementing gambling prevention education in schools?

Implementing the gambling prevention in the school? Is it to educate the young ones not to gambling or bringing to there awareness about the percussions of addictive gambling so that they can take note with preventive measures ad also having the educational curriculum about the gambling policies that teenages are prohibited from gambling.
This would really help to fight against irresponsible and addictive gambling lifestyles.
605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is "Sell in May" really a good idea (in the case of Bitcoin)? on: May 17, 2024, 10:50:34 AM
So what do you think? Is "Sell in May" a good idea in 2024?
If we have to consider the market cap historical price of Bitcoin in 2024 in decision making to paragraph when good to sell, let us understand that every Investors would always want to sell at a higher market price.

So to me, if this May would not be able to beat the ATH @ $76K which we experienced before the halving, then I think we missed that good selling chance and selling on a cheaper price since the may could not surpass the ATH is not worth it.
So, let us just keep hodling.
I hope you also understand that regretting mood of resisting to sell at a promising price and then finally you sells below the price. So, while we are still in the month of May, let us see what good market price may come out of it.
Although, this discussion is for the short term investors because the long term Investors would always stay unpanick and unsentimental nomatter the nature of the market value.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does destiny has influence in the amount we can win in gamble? on: May 16, 2024, 11:26:01 PM
Not to bore us with many words
Not to bore you with many words too, just have to let you know that your story about the destiny and chances to win in the gambling is typically the same as gambling being a game of luck and you will only win when your luck shines.
607  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How to HODL for long. on: May 16, 2024, 12:44:30 PM
If u want to hodl your BTC for long, don't put your family issues for head no matter d love u have for d family, which is d best way to hodl BTC long to make wat u have never make before in d bull run .
I actually don't see family issues to be only considered here the most. Investors can as much be tempted to spend on luxuries or pleasures, he can as well be left with no choice to sell his assets at personal emergency needs just at @AVE5 has said, the remedy to take precautions to keep holding is setting up other source for income being aware that you will be in need of funds to solve your financial requirements.

No dey use all your profits wey u make, if u want to hodl your BTC for long because d profit dat u are saving will b wat will help u to sustain during d difficulties for u not to sell Wetin go mak u regret in d future.
Yeah, there you are! You can indeed growing your assets values by accumulating more through your generated profits. It would as well increase your portfolio to higher revenues of income
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your slices Luck that would have made you millionaire in gambling? on: May 16, 2024, 11:09:38 AM
I have never tried in chasing millions on my gambling. My chasing profits is just of little odds, little stakes to win little as that just so that I can stand on the chances to be able to win with lesser risks.

I have also heard similar events that some gamblers misses the chances of becoming a millionaire just on their last game to play. So have got that confidence of winning the million prize but the game changer hits against them in the die minutes of seconds.
609  Economy / Speculation / Re: How short-term market speculations can help small bitcoin holders on: May 16, 2024, 10:16:17 AM
Good for him but while he just came in to the Bitcoin industry newly, you should let him know the dividends of keep holding and accumulating more even when the price has moved up higher to attain him profits.

Let him know that the higher value he accumulates is the higher chances he would stand to count more profits so that he doesn't have to continue to this emotional of being excited with little profits else when the market Price goes down to would break his emotions to be sentimental because his expectations would be continue increments while he is cashing out the profits.

Let him know that that point of time of his excitement of the market rising was just the begining and higher increase is coming to benefit him more of he can keep holding.
610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jose Mourinho Next Job (Season 2024/2025) on: May 15, 2024, 09:04:30 PM
Mourinho is a good coach, but he hasn't been lucky in the teams he's been in, he's been unlucky to be in teams that don't want to spend money on signing players. At Roma he had difficulty getting a budget to sign players, most of Roma's players came as free agents or on loan. Mourinho put together a good squad at Roma and a good defensive scheme for Roma, but he made mistakes in the attack, he made Roma If they only played to end up with a draw, as long as Roma didn't lose, that was fine with him. The problem with that is that it causes the team to lose a lot of points. I believe that Mourinho in Roma couldn't make the team play as he wanted precisely because of this financial barrier that I mentioned
If you mean buying players who had made social and physical Influential records to their football carriers is what would bring winning to the club I would doubt it.
A coach can also ruin a good players carrier. Although I am not saying that Mourinho has not been a good coach.

Just saying that if the coach can utilize his players with formations to standout for winning, there would always be that approach to win even though if they can not secure all that chances.

So, Mourinho hard times to win could be that he doesn't have the ability to study his team so that he would know how to handle them with the pitch formations.
However, winning in football is not exemptional like when we say gambling is a game of luck.
Sometimes the coach would need some long time to draft the logics to standout but a psycho manager would always want to act superior over the players and we should know that can be depressing and the players may team to even ruin your carrier by playing to loose those chances to win while the manager takes the blame from the club and the fans.
611  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Advantages of Bitcoin halving on: May 15, 2024, 06:12:53 PM
People don’t even look into the disadvantage of bitcoin like they do to the advantages. The advantage of it is what brought many people into the crypto space just at the time when the halving is fast approaching. The rise in price of bitcoin that follows after the bitcoin halving and the period of bull run is what entice many people to join also. The disadvantages is mostly felt by miners and the law of demand and supply intercede and makes everything balance for them. So in the end, it’s a win-win for all, both miners and investors.
You have talk so well but if the halving event of Bitcoin is to balance the Blockchain equation, then it is of no disadvantage. If we must consider miners rewards being cut half as the point of being disadvantage, then we must also consider investors who had invested, hodled and had accumulated appreciable figures of Bitcoin to their assets as well..
To me, the halving event results to reduce total number of mined Bitcoin which affects miners and investors.

Let us just say the halving is an opportunity for investors to buy and accumulate more of Bitcoin to increase their assets volume and also a period of interested persons to come on board.

612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy is a failure if you are consistent with it on: May 15, 2024, 10:44:36 AM
Yeah. That was just me because I have been on that martingale strategies in several times.
I would usually have a target to win and when I wins, I will always want to upgrade to win higher amount and while chasing the higher price I lost it all.

I will reinforce and bet again to recover my lost and just live but once I am lucky to the recovery, I will still dare the game to win up to the initial amount I won before, of I am also lucky, I will still want to win higher and higher and my consistence on chasing this higher prices and recovery my lost always causes me to lost more and only self discipline and determinations would let me walk out and stop gaming at that moment.
613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I returned my father's property to my father through Bitcoin investment. on: May 15, 2024, 08:59:22 AM
Hmm! Your sister is getting married so how then is the marriage rights your dad responsibility? If he can sell his assets just to sponsor their marriage wedding, how about the financial needs when she gets to her husbands house, is he also going to cater for she and her husband including their kids?
I do not know how convince able this can be actually.

Let us just assume it is a true story and congratulations that you made it profitably on your investment in the Bitcoin market. But I must tell you, that your friend gave you a good advice that you should invest on Bitcoin, yeah but he failed to consider your family would no more have alternative source of income to earn living and for that, you would be tempted to sell it off just for the sake of essential needs such as medical, consumable and your educational aids.
He failed to consider the risk involved with the volatility potentials of Bitcoin which is not a get quick rich investment platform.
He failed to understand that investing your funds in Bitcoin is periodically advisable to invest with what is affordable to loose. Right here it is obvious that you could not afford to loose a whole $2,000 if anything gambling may had happened with your investment.
How about if the date of the wedding has come and the Bitcoin market price went Dipper than the $30,000 during then you invested the fund?

Anyways, you may have been lucky to be successful with the numerous risks involved here, I just hope you take note of it so that you don't advice others to take such step otherwise you would be a mislead somedays.
I also hope you are furthering to your investment? Good luck and stay positive for Bitcoin has come to rescue the poor and also add more increments portfolios to others who are alternating their source of income with it
614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: May 14, 2024, 09:08:31 PM
I take part in lotteries but I usually do not make a lot of hope to win a lottery. Participating n the lottery is the easiest thing but getting a win out of it may be the most difficult thing. By the way, its fun participating in online lotteries.
Gambling which is based on luck with little chances to secure winning depending on how your predicted all all of luck, this is to say your experience gaming strategy can not guarantee you that so not in a lottery where it is shuffled until they generates a winning you can hope on.
While participating in the lottery, just get your mind ready to celebrate whoever that win feel hopeless because the pool is too broad to think you will be the lucky one amongst all
Then when it finally gets to you, take it as lucky surprise.

What if, I get a chance to participate in a lottery without any investment?
Do you mean investment with the prize won?
If yes, that is your personal business perhaps, you do not have to win a lottery before you can invest or have plans with your incomes.
Hoping on winning so that you can invest can just be a dream inside of another dream.

If any gambling site offers, free of cost entry in the lottery, i would definitely not miss that one. Smiley
While I don't need to promote a gambling site here, I will ask you to do your research and then you could find some online casinos with jackpot offers.
That may serve for your interests In gambling sites that offers lottery features.
615  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Cryptocurrency have created more jobs for the youths than the goverments on: May 14, 2024, 04:38:00 PM
This topic is not to insult or downplay the efforts of our governments but to state my observation based on the little research I did and also ensure we look at the opportunities presented by cryptocurrency in a broader perspective.

By youths I mean students and fresh graduates. These clarification is necessary so we could streamline the discussion to get a better conclusion.

I have searched through most jobs posting websites and editorials, most of the jobs posted has 5-10 years working experience as requirement. Meaning they were not posted for the youths and fresh graduates. Last year I went to Federal Civil Service Commission headquarters, I was shocked to see that none of their employee fall within my description of youths, their jobs are mainly shared among the high and mighty and never posted for the public and even when they do, it is just for formalities. Same thing was seen at Podium block Rivers State where you will hardly find a fresh graduate or young person working actively unless few of them working as erand boys and girls to the big shots.

Now let's see how cryptocurrency made the difference.
I don't think there is anyone that will argue that majority of people into cryptocurrency in Nigeria are the youths under the category of students, fresh graduates and those who graduated but due to unemployment or being underemployed, they chose cryptocurrency to support the poor pay. Some of the ways youth make a living from cryptocurrency in Nigeria include but not limited to :

  • Merchant in Exchanges: I have many numbers of merchants I trade with on p2p of some exchanges, I saved them and view their WhatsApp status where the also advertise their businesses and I was shocked to realised that majority of them are still in the universities.
  • Crypto Trading: Majority of the crypto traders I know are youths.  This can be easily verified when you join some of the trading groups around both in WhatsApp and Telegram. I'm in many of them and I happen to know a good number of young guys who are actively trading even when they are still in the universities
  • Cryptocurrency Mining: Although Bitcoin mining is not really that big in Nigeria, a lot of Nigerian youths are actively mining in small scale. Not only Bitcoin but other coins. I got to know the huge interest of people in mining through Pi Network that many youths mined in large quantity. For several weeks, Pi Network was a dominant trend in Twitter Nigeria
  • Bitcointalk: I think a good number of Nigerians in this forum are students and young graduates. Many are earning through different means like bounties, airdrops, signature, contests and others.

If you add the various ways cryptocurrency have created jobs for students and the youths, you will agree with me that our goverment are far behind in terms of employment creation for the youths and stduents. As a matter of fact, i do think there is even provision for students job as it is in some parts of the world... here is always graduation before getting a job.
Cryptocurrency may not have created more jobs for the youths but it is interesting thing about it is that it has created an opened earning opportunities for the masses by which none is limited to invest or participate on those tasks such as you OP have earlier mentioned to earn crypto currency such as Bitcoin for the rewards.

So far so good cryptocurrency invention has seem to give an infinite reliability that anyone in a global range can adopt and earns income without hoping on the government by buying and holding for investments purposes of yielding profits in time.
It has as much paved a pathway by which even the vulnerables can as much Invest and holds for retirements goal since the government can not be relied on.

It has as much served as a unifying network to connecting people all rounds the World basically for economy and entrepreneurship purposes.
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Accessing gambling sites only on desktop as a means to prevent addiction on: May 14, 2024, 04:09:24 PM
Such a discovery. Lol.
I think it would actually help because you will not be accessible to log into your account even when you never plan of gambling but remember, that is not a restriction and no one would want to imprison itself.
Just as @Oshosondy has said, it works better only when the gambler has not been addicted and to me, it would as well work for beginners who has as well not been addicted yet.

Back in the days, my cousin who does not have a smart phone to gamble at his comfort times that has been addicted to gambling and has been trying his best to quit his addiction could not help it out.
Literally he wished to stop and since the physical gambling shops do have closing times couple the fact that he have to taken taxi to the place, all that never made him stop.
Infact, he decides to gambling more every time he gets there like he has missed a lot just in the few moments hr excuses the place.
He by all means got a smart phone just to make things easier for himself.
This is just to say if you are addicted without being disciplined enough to help it out, there would always be a way by which you would break that disciplinary task.

So about the suggestion of using the Desktop to discipline your yourself from gambling addictions, it may not help it best because anytime you sits to gambling before that Desktop, you could gambling recklessly like you have missed a lot of it and so you just want to gambling furiously like you want to catch up a missed targeted.

Let me quote @Oshosondy again, "Setting up gambling budgets is the best strategy" because once you reaches your budgets, you will be judged by your conscience if you tend to exceed the budget.
617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price predictions gone silence since the DIP. on: May 14, 2024, 02:36:05 PM
Not only on the forum but on other social networking platforms, bitcoin price predictions and bullish sentiment also seem to be gradually disappearing as the market is still in the adjustment phase. What I see is that people are no longer talking about bitcoin reaching $100k, instead they believe bitcoin will fall to $52k. And I think this is a good sign for the market because when people get bored and sell all their bitcoin, that's when the market gets pumped again.
You have also made a convincible point, the speculations now is literally no more headed on the increments of Bitcoin but at the depreciative value.

I got to think otherwise that during the bullish event the speculation was an encouragement or distraction that investors may feel good to had make lot of profits or keep holding with your Bitcoin assets while at this moment,
the market influence is focused on encouraging Investors to buy now that the price has gone weak.

So  it happens to be an opportunity attracting more investors to come buying and hodl while the market rise is expected to come at the skyrocket to the bull-run but investors who are emotionally sentimental can actually sell their assets with the speculations that Bitcoin would fall lower than expected.
618  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: May 13, 2024, 08:37:45 PM

The gambling companies such as casinos want to make money, if they are helping beginners not to get addicted, it will affect the business.  They may not do that.
The gambling companies will give that responsibility to someone else like the government or rehab support group to publish some advice to help beginners not to get addicted.

Intellectually I think you have made a very sensitive and reliable point here. If the casinos would have that role to play with the addicted gamblers, it would not only spoil their businesses but could as well sabotage the companies of being intentionally incited and involving on creating addictive gaming activities that obviously has the potential to ruin gamblers who are addicted and their bankrolls yet the casinos keep up an ignoring the to stop the gamblers from it.

Then the casino companies would seem like an intensional program to influence and illegally extorting helpless gamblers who can not help themselves and then it would be insighted that the Casino is being trickish with a self-centered interests of gaining it all.

So the best is to issue such advisory gambling addictions tips duties to any other organizations or the government should take its responsibilities while the casino companies would only sponsor the job outputs but not literally like the front liners.
619  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Global Bitcoin influence. on: May 13, 2024, 07:50:30 PM
Having made all that points, let me also say that the major influence Bitcoin may posses in the society is the self custodial of individual assets and the decentralizations that is basically driving the government crazy since they can not take control of it as the fiats.
So every of its holders have faith with their funds stored in the Bitcoin Blockchain while their fates lies on when they have their funds on the fiats.

Another great influence Bitcoin posses in the societies is the fact that holding your Bitcoin is refered to be holding an asset with a potential of making profits.

And due to the fact that it is a decentralized non-custodial Blockchain network, some criminals think it would be a safe place where they can process their illegal activities but not knowing Bitcoin transaction can be traced with the  analytical technology of the ledger in the Bitcoin Blockchain community which could make them vulnerable to be trapped.

Most interesting is that it influences the public and its investors to schedule on setting up goals for their retirement. Definitely it is such flexible and aspirations that one can actually deposit the least affordable amount of fund. And likely, it is a reputable a d reliable digital currency by which your fund is secured.
620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where are you hyper focus, online casinos or physical casinos on: May 13, 2024, 05:21:51 PM
I don't think there is a topic created about this, so I'm creating one.

Physical casinos do not have clocks or windows on the gaming floor, and they offer free drinks like wine energy drinks, and food so the gamblers will be hyper focused this is why gamblers spend hours without even knowing they have already spent, while online casinos offer free spins, rakeback, and cashback so you can continue to play to level up to enjoy these perks.
OP I don't know if you were just exaggerating about the physical casino shops offering free beverages because here in my place there is absolutely no such services.
There is also hungry in town so I think if that be definitely the casinos would shutdown because hungry gamblers would always be ready to consume all that edibles. Lol

So between the two where are you more hyper-focused and how many hours do you spend on one compared to the other?
I am definitely going for online casinos because I can utilize those free bonuses and free spinning as privilege to keep me rolling with more chances to game.more. Luckily I could win with the free offers.

I don't care about the food and all that the physical casinos may offer. Infact, it even feels Irresponsible of me eating in a gambling hall full of people when I know it is not a restaurant. I will always have them when I get home so the online casinos offers is amiable to me.
