You can use "connect=" rather than "addnode="
addnode tells the client to add a node and other nodes connected to it, which because of the desync issue may belong to litecoin..
connect tells the client to connect to that node only, ignoring any nodes it may have ...
maybe it's time to get a list of "trusted" peers sorted out..

It's great to see that the coin is developing independantly, and it's early days yet..

Lynos has put a value on SXC at his site.. I have a few numbers floating around in my head so I can't quite recall what that is.. I suggest you co-ordinate with him.. It might be a first in the cryptosphere (Is that even a word ? LMAO) .. the traders determining the value, not the exchanges..

I mined some litecoins, back in the day they were considered a joke, for about two weeks..

About 3 or 4 months later I cashed them out for about 4000$..

I consider that SXC is a bit of a sleeper... It will be considered a bit of a joke by some, and I don't mind mining it while it is ridiculously easy to do so.. Though the hashrate is slowly growing..

The other thing is SXC is underdeveloped at the moment.. We are still in the stabilisation phase.

There's alot we can do with a hardfork.. change the difficulty retargeting to make it more resistant to what I call "flash mining", for example, but we are keeping quiet about our development plans. This is because theres a few things we've come up with that we don't want implemented on other coins before we do them ourselves.

As I've said before, opinions on the coin differ in both the dev team and the community, and I wouldn't want it any other way. It's healthy to have different perspectives so things can be considered from all angles. The inclusion of SXC on an exchange is something that really is beyond our control at the moment, an exchange could add it today if they had the inclination.

Personally I would like to mine it a bit more, have an client with outstanding coin characteristics and a few services good to go to give more than speculative value to the coin first, but it's not my call.

I think the problem is that it is being rejected out of hand.. We are generally dealing with geeks, not business persons. A business person would understand that it provides a THE payment system to an 14 billion dollar plus industry that is desparate for a system that supports micro transactions... not go it has the word "sex" in it so we'll ignore it..

I think you are aware they have looked at Bitcoin, but it is too slow to fullfill their needs...

The biggest difference from other cryptocoins is participating sites will be able to sell directly to the public, and when that day comes, I'll bet some a bodypart I'm extremely fond of, that exchanges will be falling over themselves to add it..

Yeap..For the last 3 hours the pools been acting up.. We must have jinxed it by talking about taking it out of beta.. and it always seems to happen in the middle of the night for Lava.. though two disruptions over a week ain't bad for a new pool...

A quick heads up to our miners... When the original developer first released sexcoin it had some serious problems. The source code itself wasn't up to scratch, it came out without linux binaries and was difficult to compile. As you may know, push pools run on linux boxes. There was also no website and no further development to bring confidence to miners that it would be a successful coin..

The fact is that it is just another clone coin with little to recommend it except it is targeted at an entertainment industry that is struggling in the same way other entertainment industries were struggling, however cannot adopt the same microtransactional business model that other industries have used to alleviate their woes, because until now, no payment system supporting this business model existed.

The adult entertainment industry was estimated to have an annual turnover of between 10-14 billion dollars in 2001.

The general strategy adopted by the new development team general comprises of two stages.

Stage one is coin stabilization. The issues with the coin client must be addressed and basic infrastructure built to allow the coin to merely survive. The goals have been, clean code, p2pool and pushpool software development, a website and a hardfork to address the desyncing issue prevalent in so many coins.. You will note that signifigant contributions are being made by members of the community..

Stage two is development. I cannot publicize the details of any plans for this second stage, however I will hint that it will involve another hardfork, among other things. While stage one consists of improvements being released as they are being made, Stage two will consist of a period of development, then the release of all improvements and services at once.

I expect that sexcoin will finally come into it's own at this point, and we will be accused of "premining" by miners who have missed the boat because they prefered to mine for instant profit rather than take a risk and invest in a coin over an extended period, as was the case with Bitcoin and Litecoin.
