601  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects those who DCA on: December 24, 2023, 09:30:58 PM
Certainly yes. That means the amount of bitcoin to be DCA will be lessen because of the expensive transaction fees, and opportunities will be minimized. But we all know that this won't take forever as the market will recover again and transaction fees will be back to normal. However, if you are determined to maintain the amount of bitcoin through DCA, then that's the time that you should pay the price, otherwise you will lost the opportunity to save and store bitcoin for long term.

602  Economy / Economics / Re: Crisis everywhere it's time to come together and unite on: December 24, 2023, 08:35:37 PM
New currency means new token? oh well I hope the OP dont ask us to create another Meme token.
Nowadays anyone can create a token without coding experience less than a day then rugpull next week, rinse and repeat.

Nah that is not a good way to become rich, and if the OP plan to create a "new honest" token then it will need a big money for the marketing budget and else.
So creating a new currency/token is not the answer for this "Crisis" issue.
Definitely not the solution. And who else would you expect OP to trust this new currency/token? I guess people will not trust but continue to doubt these new tokens that will arise in the market. Instead of trying to convince everyone with your own concept, why not maximize our engagement with bitcoin. This is the trend now so we should optimized making the best out from bitcoin.

And also, people may not buy your idea anymore on creating new currency for airdrop. The golden days for airdrops have vanish already.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 24, 2023, 06:12:05 AM
I won't be betting in this fight. If I have to make a bet, it should go to Inoue, but it is almost not worth betting for him. With the moneyline odds of 1.04, who would grab that? Even if you go for the winning method to take advantage of higher odds, the probability is that you would go for Inoue by KO. And that's only 1.17. Even that is not worthy for me. I'd rather just watch the fight.

What I'm hoping for is that Tapales is 100% ready and that he won't be psychologically or emotionally affected by his opponent. If Tapales has 100% confidence in this fight, he will definitely be able to give a good fight. Even if he losses, at least he gives Naoya a run for his money.

There's another option if you don't want the ML odds for Inoue and you are confident that this will end in a knockout, see below. But as for me, i have a feeling that this would go the distance because Tapales is 100 percent ready for this fight and he trained for this for almost six months. So with that i'm betting that this fight would go over 7.5 @2.20.

Was the odds boasted? Because on the screenshot it was only 2.09 while you got 2.20.

Anyway, I think you also have a point, it's just important that we follow the result of our analysis, we can't be too bias here because if we are, we will just be closing our eyes and bet in favor of Tapales in all the market that is available.

Can't wait for this fight, I hope Tapales will now be relax and will not over train as we want to see him 100% ready in the fight knowing he's up agains the biggest challenge of his life, and if he lose, I hope he'll not suffer a devasted loss that will result to major injury, that's what I pray for him also.
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 24, 2023, 05:40:07 AM

Edit: My OKC ticket is probably dead with the Lakers shooting lights out.

Lakers were on a losing streak so they need to win, to stop the bleeding. I think Lebron was out on the Lakers' previous games but he was in this game and lead his team with 40 points and perfect from beyond the arc with 5/5, that's unusual to him, so that probably also had help the Lakers to win.
605  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How many scams have you caught? on: December 23, 2023, 11:48:17 PM
I have seen many cases of fraudulent projects on this forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0
What I want to ask you is how many times have you been caught in a scam project?
And what factors deceived you?
Please share your experience with me so that I can be careful in the world of cryptocurrency.
Thanks.
I believe the word scam is already associated in crypto already, so it's not surprising if we see a lot of scammers or a lot have been scammed in crypto. Even myself, I tend to fall way back in my newbie stage that bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme. That was my first impression with bitcoin, the reason why I hurriedly invest in bitcoin that time.

But now being a long time bitcoin enthusiast, I realize that even in bitcoin, you still have to work and make extra efforts so you can gain profits later on. There's no quick money in bitcoin, only quick losses if you are not cautious with your funds.
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin will bring you hope and gambling will leave you destitute. on: December 23, 2023, 08:17:03 PM
Investing in bitcoin will certainly bring us hope if we chose to invest for long term, the hope and excitement is there while waiting to reap our profits. But that will happen only if you have the patience to hold and the persistency to stick with bitcoin, as others may easily shift into altcoins because they long for short term profits.

While gambling will leave you in destitute, that is for those who spend lot and lose a lot in gambling. But if you only gamble at a small amount occasionally, you will never suffer from huge losses. In fact, you might even gain some small profits.
607  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is merit necessary for my survival here on: December 23, 2023, 07:25:03 PM
I would still say it's necessary because you need to see your growth in the long run.  You need to rank up and increase your level through posting quality posts so you can be an asset in the forum. Although the forum will never remove you if you have no merits earned, but you will be considered unnecessary in the forum. You need to create constructive posts so that other members will appreciate your contribution in the forum, and not just you're here to post and spam.
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 23, 2023, 12:26:50 PM

Tomorrow they should do more better since they need to take a win against Brooklyn, if they don't perform well and lose again for sure they will be roasted by their fans.

Nah, they won't win against the Brooklyn, they are on the road which they only have won 1 of the 13 games, while the Brooklyn is a pretty decent team with Cam Thomas back in the line up. Honestly, I think it will be a blowout loss again for them, and they don't need to worry about getting roasted by the fans as the fans are not interested in them anymore due to their long losing streak.
609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 23, 2023, 11:13:58 AM
For me it's another loss for the Suns, I wanted to think that they can make it a close game against the Sacramento Kings to over cover + spread. But KD and Booker is not enough, they really need someone to spark coming from the bench.

It's really a different Phoenix team now, and with Nurkic out in this game, Sabonis has a field day and Fox just uses his speed and then easy score after that Euro step either against Allen or Little. I might stay away from betting on them until they got a team below .500 in their next couple of games.

We can now tell how important Nurkic is to the team, without his size, he can't intimidate attackers on the paint, and as an evident to that, Sabonis were able to take advantage and score 28 points. Although if you look at the statistics, the Suns have outrebounded the Kings with 45-37 advantage but there inside points are just too much coming from the home team.

Durant hand 28, while Booker had 24. I can pretty much say that both had a great game, but as you've pointed out, there's not much help coming from the bench. So I think, it order to keep the bench going, they need to move the ball well and don't just rely too much on Durant and Booker.
610  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will you use platforms offering AI help for crypto trading in 2024? on: December 22, 2023, 10:00:59 PM
To be honest, I will never do that. I would not dare risking my time and money in trading using AI that is still not reliable if it will result into positive trading results. Maybe in the future if AI has become more developed and has proven lots of successful trades, but next year is still to early to trade using AI, so most likely I will just trust my own instinct in trading and with my valuable experiences in trading, I guess I can do it.

I believe AI will make great potentials in the future. But it takes a lot of time and processes before it will be fully reliable. So we'll just wait and see it in the future if what's AI may store for us.
611  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You lose more when you over trade on: December 22, 2023, 08:40:52 PM
Newbies are easily influenced by unreliable crypto influencers that trading can go a long way and can even make them get rich quick if they have the persistency to trade. While it's partly true, but we all know that if we trade without sufficient knowledge about the basics in trading, we will never be successful with trading. Instead of seeing it as a way to reach our fortune, it could even lead to the worst scenario, that is getting suck from all our losses and even used up all our hard-earned money and wealth.

With that, overtrading can turn us into a state of distitute because we follow our greed over our our right thinking.
612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 22, 2023, 07:42:59 PM
I also think that Donaire give that advise to Tapales to avoid mistake with his strategy, better to keep close and try to read whatever the fighting style
Inoue will use for their fight.

Though we don't really know what it is and what would be the plan for this upcoming fight, all will be reveal during thier meeting inside the ring.

But the question is if Tapales is capable of doing that supposed advice given by Donaire once in the ring.

Donaire is the only boxer that gives Naoya Inoue a hard fight and I don't think anyone from the entire Super Bantamweight division do have that same capability. Donaire is even the reason why Inoue becomes stronger and since having that tough fight, Inoue makes sure not to repeat being in that hard state again.

As a PH fan of boxing, I do hope though that Tapales will somehow erase all the doubts that he is nothing against the Monster. Impossible might it be for the others, even for most boxing analysts but who knows. At least, Tapales should make this fight not an easy path for Inoue becoming the undisputed champion in the Super Bantamweight.

They have different style in boxing as Donaire is a KO artist, however, Tapales is a kind of boxer that loves to take it slow and win in the end. Though all his wins prior to the win against Murodjon Akhmadaliev was in KO, but that as against a non champion boxer, Inoue here is a different kind of boxer as he is very popular and is on his journey in making a history in boxing. In terms of analytical aspects, everything is favored on Inoue, so if we based on that, there's no factor that point up being Tapales the winner, so as a supporter of Tapales, we just have to be optimistic that Inoue will make a wrong decision that will cause him to lose.

613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 22, 2023, 02:28:48 AM
So while we are thinking that this is an easy fight for Inoue, his camp doesn't think that way.

From this article publish by philstar global, this is what Inoue has said during an interview.
https://www.philstar.com/sports/2023/12/21/2320508/inoue-admits-feeling-scared-tapales-showdown-nears
Quote
“What scares me the most is people around me think it will be an easy fight,” the soft-spoken pound-for-pound star said during a media workout the other day in Japan.

Inoue and his camp just recognizes the danger Tapales brings to that table that they admitted bringing in sparring partners from abroad who have differing styles so they would be ready for anything come fight night.

Inoue showed respet to the ability of his fellow champion, and that's the kind of attitude I like on a boxer as it will reflect on his work ethic. Now, with this humble words from him, it's hard not to think that he'll beat Tapales easily.
614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You will burn on: December 21, 2023, 09:59:29 PM
There's no way you will burn if you chose the right investment. That is having knowledge on the kind of investment that you have, and not because your greed tells you to do so. With bitcoin, your investment is safe from scams and may protect you from inevitable losses in the market. But if you focus on altcoins, the bigger chances that your investment falls into scam. Altcoin market is the playground of scams, so you have to only invest on potential and reputable altcoins that will save you from your losses, but still maximize your bitcoin investment as much as possible.
615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 20, 2023, 03:22:06 PM
I still don't get it why Memphis won that game because the game itself was insane just to watch and if you had a bet on it , this game was not for weak hearts.

However , game of the night was GSW winning against Celtics in OT that should return a bit of confidence back to them , especially now with 3 victories in a row.
With Ja returning for the 1st time this season it was kind of a no brainer to take the points in last nights game. Now for them to win the game was amazing and shows just how much they depend on Morant. I wouldn't bet the farm on Memphis just yet, but I would def consider them a more dangerous opponent at this time.

People would have a different thought if Memhpis were not able to come back and win.

The score in the first half was 41-60. It's a 19 points deficit going to the 3rd quarter, and this is on the home court of the Pelicans, so it's expected that they'll have a hard time coming back to the game or just even covering the handicap, but as to my surprised they win, so the stroy has change.

Regardless of the outcome, there's always a story of this game because it's an important game, the first game of Morant after serving his suspention.

Guess what, Memphis will be hype now, so I guess I'll be betting against them on their next game.
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 20, 2023, 02:50:16 PM
Keep holding @bisdak40, we got this!

Lol, yeah, I think our bet is in good hands now as Magnolia's lead almost ballooned to 30 points. DYIP has no answer to the balanced scoring of the Hotshots. Tyler Bey I think is a good candidate for this conference's Best Import Award as he average a double-double every game.

They say that it's not over until it is over but with this one, money in the bag for Magnolia Hotshots and a win for both of us @Sanitough hehe.

Unfortunately the rig show striked again. Sorry guys, you both lose your bets as Magnolia only manage to win by 13 points after a huge 30 points lead.

PBA at it's finest, just by looking at the scoring in the 4th quarter, you can already tell that they are trying to achieve here.

13-31 -- MAGNOLIA quit and gave the handicap to DYIP.
617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I earn merit? on: December 18, 2023, 08:54:19 PM
Hello, new bitcointalk user, been around on this site for around a year or so, just never decided to create an account. I’ve seen people with tons of merit! But yet I have not a single clue on how to gain any, whilst people have thousands! Pretty much a newbie when it comes to posting Tongue. But any help works, thank y’all!
My only advise is just do your diligent study in the forum and you will learn a lot in time. When you have gained adequate knowledge that you can share to everyone, then probably that time it will be easier for you to receive merits since you're now able to create meaningful and quality posts that every member can benefit from it. Learning takes time, so you also need to take your time learning and understanding the forum most especially bitcoin and the crypto market since the whole thing about this forum focuses on bitcoin.
618  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much human supervision do you believe AI needs for crypto trading? on: December 18, 2023, 07:16:36 PM
I expect that it will take more time, at least 10 years, for humans to be able to create AI capable of making trading decisions with great effectiveness and close to accuracy.

Although I personally do not believe that there can be 100% accurate trading decisions, whether from humans or AI, because there are many factors that can suddenly change the market and mix the cards so that it becomes very difficult to predict the market accurately.

However, AI is developing so rapidly that it will become a great competitor to humans and may surpass it by several stages.
For now, I see AI still unreliable when it comes to trading decisions and accurate predictions, but we don't know in the future what AI maybe capable of doing. When that happens that AI may already surpass our expectations on humans, well probably that could be the end for human's roles in trading. Although we always believe that human intelligence is better than AI or any trading bots, but we really don't know what they are capable in the future. AI's development is in progress and we are all aware about that.
619  Economy / Economics / Re: my mum want to make a lot of money, money can fix everything, me hurt not import on: December 18, 2023, 02:28:30 PM
It's obvious that your mother is blinded by the power of money. Although it's undeniable that money is the most in demand basic commodity these days, but we should also realize that not everything can be bought with money, like safety and security. You only lived once so make sure to value your life and protect your safety over the greed for money. Most probably, a heart to heart talk with her can resolve the issue.

They say mother knows everything and mother knows best for their children. But based on what you've shared OP, its like your mother turns the opposite. But everything will work and change for the better, as long as you both understand each other's feelings and situations.
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: December 18, 2023, 01:30:58 PM
They say people cannot invest without a realiable source if income. And I firmly believe its true. You cannot successfully hold your coins even for months if your finances is miserable. You need to have at least a good source of income so that your personal expenses will be separate from your investment expenses. And you can still live comfortably even without relying on your investment's future profits.

I'd come to realize that poor people who successfully hold their coins have been struggling a lot to control their expenses. But everything will paid off in time and they'll get to benefit from their long term hodling.
