Nothing will happen to your coins. But after the fork if your mining pool refuses to upgrade their nodes, you will effectively be mining another chain which is not accepted by the exchanges.

Either your pool upgrades or you transfer to another pool that does.
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: March 02, 2018, 02:58:50 AM
Are there miners in here who are using a Burst Nation pool? A moderator from /r/burstcoin was trying to reach out to Burst Nation to have their pool support the Dymaxion hard fork or risk having their pool rewards not being in the main blockchain. But they refused and even banned him from their forum.

The nodes supporting the Dymaxion are already on 84% and climbing.

If you are a miner in a Burst Nation pool, be informed that they will not support the Dymaxion and will become the minority making your coins mined having no value and not accepted in exchanges.

The PoCC may have already talked to the exchanges about the fork and seeing that the majority of the Burst community supports it, then the exchanges have no choice but to accept it as the "official Burst".

The best move you can do as a miner is to point your rigs to a pool that supports the Dymaxion.

603  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking for investor. Maryjuana farm. on: March 02, 2018, 02:47:02 AM
Hi! Our command searching investor for 53000€ to produce the medical cannabis farm.
(English not my first language, sorry for mistakes)
Our location is best for this kind of busineess becouse we have cheep factories for rent and cheap workers + only 3 factories in all country have licens for this things in this moment. (Easy to get visa and open company for fourangers)
We need only 1 investor, only 53000€ for all stuffs, factory and laboratory to start make money.
This offer in not about tokens or coins, before make ico we planing to make big and strong company with real numbers(calculations).
If you like this idea and want to be a part of us please just contact me in telegram - @Hxhdrn or write me in forum PM. I have answers for all questions that you can have.
We speak russian english and spanish languages.

Not sure if this is a serious proposal. Lots of wrong spelling in your post, which shows that you are not professional, and you might not even be properly educated. No offense. Maybe you are just high or something lol.

You also want only 1 investor and you want €53000? Why only 1?
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burstcoin | Efficient HDD Mining | New Version 1.3.6 | Assets | CFs on: March 02, 2018, 02:37:42 AM
Does anyone know if any of the currently available Burst miners are capable of using the "time-memory tradeoffs" mentioned in the SpaceMint paper?

Its good that you mentioned it lol.

The PoCC will include an upgrade of the Proof of Capacity algorithm called PoC2 that fixes the time memory trade off issue. They released an article explaining what it is and how it fixes PoC. Read it.

Caztiel, you dont have to worry about anything. The PoCC will not do a hard fork if it splits the blockchain.
605  Economy / Economics / Re: Study says being rich is determined by chance rather than intelligence or talent on: March 02, 2018, 02:33:54 AM
I think luck and good timing also has something to do with it. We have seen intelligent and hardworking people trying to make it but most of them dont.

Being ruthless and cunning are also traits that one should have to get rich. Step on all those who are in front and who are better than you. If you need to, kill them.
606  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: TREZOR Model T touchscreen on: March 01, 2018, 03:51:32 AM
Relax man! It's just been a couple hours since they posted the article so I'm pretty sure no one has received their wallets yet but if you're looking for reviews, you better go with youtube since it'll most likely be the fastest to have a review and it'll be more detailed there.

EDIT:

Now that you mentioned it, I personally didn't like the touchscreen since first the screen is just small so navigating feels kinds off and there's misclicks too. Honestly, I prefer the buttons more but we'll see when the reviews come  Cheesy
Touchscreen is good but only for those people who do have children-like fingertips. Roll Eyes. This is my first time hearing out such update and I would try to search informations related to this.I agree that youtube is one of the fastest mediums when it comes to new updates, reviews of a particular stuff.Same comment about difference among two I will still stick to the standard ones.

You have fudgy fat fingers too? Your nostrils must also be big like mine lol.

Jokes aside, I might consider ordering this. But I would advice to wait for security issues encountered by the first users.

They are the real beta testers lol.
607  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A multi crypto lottery project. on: March 01, 2018, 03:26:43 AM
Lotteries look more promising than the other projects proposed in here. I say go for it! Lotteries are one of the use cases for smart contracts that make more sense. An escrow service is another one, if you ask me.

The rest more complicated ones sound deceiving.
608  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin must come back to its original use - currency ! on: March 01, 2018, 02:45:50 AM
One of BTC's strength, which is its deflationary nature, is also one of its greatest weaknesses. Like gold, its most valued utility is as an investment and a store of value if one was willing to take the volatility. But theres only one way BTC is going. Up.

With that said, tell me, are you willing to spend your coins for your daily needs? Then prove it. Because I dont. The opportunity cost is too great.
All currencies are assets as well, this is something usually forgotten and as long as bitcoin performs a better job being an asset then that is the use people are going to give to it, bitcoin as a currency is not very good, that will change in the near future but we cannot deny the best usage of our bitcoin does not come from paying our bills it comes from holding and trading and as long that is true that is what we will keep doing.

One of BTC's best usage would be the ability to make a censor resistant transaction at a time when its impossible to do it in all other currencies. Maybe in a dystopian setting.

Thats a very powerful use case if you think about it deeply enough.

The good news is that the price has adjusted  0,00000348 BTC (10,48%) Smiley  what caused it?

It got listed on some exchange where you can buy BURST directly with USD.

Yeah but its a small exchange called Indacoin. Thats barely considered as "big news" to move the price. My take on it is some group is trying to support the price from falling any futher.

If thats true then BTC.000003 to BTC.0000035 could be good points of entry. Just my 2 cents.

I have been mining burst over a year now and just wanted to check how is everything and what are plans ahead. Which team is leading this project now, i was not checking since 2 months now, so if anyone could update little bit. I know this year will be huge in terms of recognizing POC which burst brought.

I also would want to say that 84% of total nodes are now supporting the Dymaxion upgrades and hard forking plans for the future.

We are almost there. It would also help to point your mining rigs to pools that support the Dymaxion. Ty.

Whats wrong with the Graft Android wallet? I downloaded it yesterday and it was still "updating" my balance. Then today, I still have the same problem. Its still "updating".

How can I know if its connected to the internet or not? My phone is having NO connection problems.

Is anyone else having the same problem? Ty.
Yes, I also experienced the same thing. Looks like there is a server repair. But I do not know. I thought I was the only one who experienced it. I do not understand what I should do. Is there another way I can download it?

There were a few people asking about that in the telegram today. Nobody seemed to know/answer them. Would be nice if the team cleared this up.

I received my GRFT coins now. There must have been a temporary problem with the node serving the Android wallet. For a while I got worried there lol.

Anyhow, in which exchange would GFRT be first listed in? Any guesses?

Thats what I am pointing out here. Lets keep the Gold as an investment asset or store value which is utility metal. It can be bought with currency/money. However, the bitcoin on the other hand is itself a currency which could be used to buy gold itself. Bitcoin was never asset for Satoshi's sake! We made it like that.

With that said by me, yes I am willing to use it for daily life needs with off course digital platforms unlike the physical currency.  Smiley

There is nothing to prove about it because our thinking has set to assets, store values, trades, profits when we say "Bitcoin". If that would have been never linked with it then im sure you would have been using it as currency too with no more proofs. Cheesy

But what if I want to save all my BTC and use my fiat money to buy everything for my daily needs. Cash accepting stores are more accessible, its also easier to pay with cash, and without the hassle of waiting for a confirmation which sometimes is inconsistent.

Let me say again that that opportunity costs is simply too great. If I spend my BTC today, and the price goes up to $15,000 the next week, I lose that opportunity to buy more with it.

616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burst weekly report! The future is bright! on: February 27, 2018, 03:06:41 AM
Greetings my fellow forumites. I havent updated this thread because of the lack of motivation and laziness lol. But this week I think the thread deserves to be updated and to keep some of you Bursters aware of the latest news and developments.

If you want to read the missed updates you can read them here, here and here.

Weekly Burst Report #25

We are getting close to the release of 2.0.0. Major development steps were taken this week.

  • You might have noticed a new “database manager” repository in the PoC Consortium GitHub. With 2.0.0, the core wallet will support H2 (with significant performance improvements), mariaDB and mysql databases by default. In addition to that, the wallet will be able to handle any other database, thanks to the use of jooq and the database manager. “We are doing this to go for a new versioning of the databases and to avoid having the wallet bloated with db drivers”, explains PoC Consortium developer ac0v. New databases support will greatly increase Burst’s flexibility in many applications.

  • Developers are currently focusing on the initial syncing performances, and “it looks quite good”, in their own words. A lot of time and energy was spent on the syncing process; it is very encouraging to see it is starting to pay off.

  • The milestone page shows encouraging progress. Developers are confident that the remaining tasks can be completed in a short time frame. Obviously, being one of the highest ranked crypto project in terms of commit history helps.

The PoC Consortium made a binary release of the new pool code.

  • Any pool operator can now test this fast and scalable implementation written in Golang, easily capable of supporting thousands of miners.

  • Major upgrades were pushed to the pool code as well. Without going too deep into technical details, we now have SSE4 + AVX2 support which allows validation of 8 / 4 deadlines in parallel on a single core, a gRPC API, a new compensation system for fast blocks, PoC2 support and lots of simulations were done to optimize the whole share algorithm.

  • In addition to that, The Burstcoinist will soon release an interview of @bold and @Herscht, the minds behind the pool software, where they are going share their insight on development.
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A case for Burst's Proof Of Capacity on: February 27, 2018, 02:57:05 AM
But hard drive production doesnt add to the electricity costs in relation to Burst mining because they are already produced by companies for the current demand.

GPU manufacturers can't even keep up with demand because so many people are buying cards to mine. Hard drive manufacturers would likely run into the same problem should proof of capacity become the norm. Petabytes of storage being "burned" rather than used for other activity means that the manufacturing of those drives should be taken into account.

Then we will get to that problem and crunch the numbers when we get there. As of today, there is so much supply of hard drives that the demand is not that much to increase the prices.

With that said, once PoC3 is released that petabytes of storage "being burned" in Burst will be put to good use.

  • The PoC3 consensus protocol will take over a custodian role in globally distributed redundant storage.

Taken from What is The Dymaxion?.
618  Economy / Economics / Re: "We need to think deeply about the economic function of money" on: February 26, 2018, 02:51:57 AM
«To successfully manage wealth over the long term, we need to think deeply about the economic function of money, particularly as a store of value but also as a medium of payment and a unit of account. We also need to adopt a more holistic approach to risk, heeding the lessons of economic history: No currency, in particular no fiat currency, has survived the test of time over the very long term.»

These are quotes from the study “Overcoming the Notion of a Single Reference Currency: A Currency Basket Approach” written by Helie d’Hautefort and  Giuseppe Ballocchi; published by the CFA Institue Research Foundation

Thats a shill piece for an ICO. Dont read it.

How dare they quote an economics book and then sneakily put their ICO in there. Only scammers do that.

Bitcoin miner production are is something of a new industry that added to the world's electricity use, side by side with the electricity use in the production of GPU and CPU.

But you are also right. I would like to see that study.
620  Economy / Speculation / Re: Debunking the waste of energy argument against Bitcoin on: February 26, 2018, 01:40:46 AM
The way they want to distribute a PoS coin is by having an ICO behind it. It fills the developer's pockets and assures them that they have some payment for their work and it can fund the project for years. I am not saying its a bad model to acquire funds, but it is open to corruption.

If they have a PoW distribution stage, mining has go on for years to have a moderately fair distribution. Ethereum is a good example. But why dont new projects use Proof of Capacity for their distribution stage? Its cheaper.
