601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: May 10, 2024, 01:45:39 PM
Longest face-off in boxing?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Voa-oXjTv9w

It was like they started at 0:27 and then the announcer in the background doing his job, and after he had said everything, both of this fighters are still staring at each other, LOL. Personally though, I'm seeing Loma winning by unanimous decision here, he is the more experience and the better boxer/technician in this fight.

That's how boxers try to square with their opponents, a stare down and look as someone's soul and see if they can intimidated each other just like in this case, but it seems that no one is trying to back down from all of it and with the organizers allowing it, and at least there are no pushing whatsoever and  they remain calm. Obviously as what the odds say, Loma is a huge favorite, because of his experience and yes the tools that he has, foot work and this technics he used to beat his opponent. And if ever he wins then he is again a world champion and still has a good future in fighting Tank Davis. That's the fight that we wanted to see in the future.
This is also my favourite part, the face-off after the weigh-in because their next meeting is in the ring; they are going to size up each other and try to get in each other heads so far, there are no thrash talks between the two, but we can easily tell that they are serious about beating each other because so much at stake here.

I love watching this kind of fight where both fighters are not fighting for the title but are also fighting for survival.
Kambosos is coming from two losses, and another one will shut him out of the limelight in international boxing,
Lomachencko is also coming from a heartbreaking loss, and a loss will get him thinking about retirement.

I know this fight is important, so I will not rule out a draw or a rematch if the fight is too close because both fighters have the same style of fighting, and we all know style makes a fight.
602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Where Will It Go If The Money Comes From Illegal Source on: May 10, 2024, 10:38:24 AM
Part of casinos' terms of service is banning your account if you cannot justify your source of income or they think it comes from an illegal source, so if a casino bans your account. You have 6 digits in your account; where will the money go, and do they have the right to keep the money? There is no provision; I read they will turn over the money to the authorities.

Is it legal for casinos to keep the money?

This discussion is based on a question of our bro seoincorporation

Casinos ask for KYC to avoid money laundering, but if the gambler isn't able to give the requested data then the casino keeps the money. If the casino keeps the money isn't that Money laundering?

Let's have an open conversation on this

603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: May 09, 2024, 03:53:51 PM

And there are reports that Garcia 1 sample turns out to be negative though. So by now there are conflicting reports and don't know if that is fake news or someone really wanted to sabotage Ryan Garcia's reputation with all this allegations.
The drama on Ryan will continue because Ryan has so many haters I believe there are many who likes to spread fakes news to take out Ryan's winning and because Ryan plans to sue them they have to come out with the real reports, if Ryan really believes that he is clean then he has to fight for that, his credibility is at stakes here

Quote
And by now yeah, he is calling Spence as per this official X account and then we have the storyboard that involved James and Ryan is going to avenge his coach now as there are now a legal battle between Derrick James vs Errol Spence Jr in terms of money that Spence supposedly own James.
If this materialized this will create huge drama much bigger than the Haney drama because of what happened between James and Spence and their argument will focus on this, I think Ryan is taking more than what he can take Spence is still dangerous and hungry because of his lost to Crawford he is one tough customer for Ryan.
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the main points of gambling? on: May 09, 2024, 02:45:56 PM
I've over heard people complaining about them losses, for me I think they don't know the main points of gambling. What do you think about this people losses much? Does it mean they don't know the main points of gambling?

We are just humans and full of emotion, and it shows when we gamble; it's not that gamblers do not understand the point of gambling it's just that they are overwhelmed by their greed and emotions; many gamblers know and understand what should not be done in gambling but out of greed they break the rules and they follow their emotions and greed.

Addiction in gambling comes from too much attachment to gambling and the emotions and feelings plays a very important part of that.

This is why in the rehabilitation process, they do not feed addicted gamblers with logic and reasoning. Still, they feed the emotions of something that can substitute the yearning to gamble.

606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Are You Using A Journal Spreadsheets Will Pave The Way For Addiction To Gambling on: May 09, 2024, 12:00:23 PM
There is a thread about a guy who created a thread about his bet and will make it his journal for betting

Hi everyone, I am going to attempt to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC with football/soccer betting. I will be using this post as a journal for my bets.

I want to ask: Are Using A Journal or Spreadsheets Will Fave The Way For Addiction To Gambling? My reasoning is that by creating a spreadsheet or a journal, you are taking gambling seriously and looking for ways and a means to win in sports betting or luck-based games.

Does anyone here have their own journal or spreadsheets, and are you taking gambling seriously?
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attempting to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC on: May 09, 2024, 10:58:30 AM
Hi everyone, I am going to attempt to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC with football/soccer betting. I will be using this post as a journal for my bets.

The goal is to be able to pay for medical school! Feel free to follow or fade my bets! Smiley But always bet responsibly.

Starting Balance: 0.05 BTC

Bet #1: Colombia: Envigado FC - Real Cartagena FC | Over 3 | 0.025 BTC returns 0.06625 BTC
Bet Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/Xn3BvXw

Result: -0.025 BTC

New Balance: 0.025 BTC

tips: bc1qgll9gt4gmf8rddnyynrdrmzq9qzv336w7yezce

You're not the first one who did this; compared to the first one, you have a goal that will make you do research and be careful about your bet because if you win you can pay for medical school. Still, unfortunately, the risk is too high, and you could blow it up, but it shows that we're right because you lost on your first bet and are half in your bankroll.

You mentioned that you are okay even if you lose the bet, but I hope you reach your goal. if you lose it, you will learn that gambling is too risky and no money should be used intended for important matters.

I hope this is just for journal and experimental, and you will not use it for more betting because I know of a friend who uses a journal and a spreadsheet and that fave a way for him to become addicted to gambling.

608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: May 08, 2024, 03:52:55 PM
Artur Beterbiev has ruptured his meniscus and requires surgery. Doubt he's gonna go to that length to avoid a fight. Injuries do happen from time to time even though some fighters do use any excuse they can to stall a fight I don't think this is one of them.

That's a particularly annoying type of injury, as he would be immobilised for quite some time completely unable to do any sort of training routine or cardio.
It's nothing like Fury's injury when all he had to do was to avoid hard sparring.

This just came out 18 hours ago, as I am posting this Bivol will face a guy named Malik Zinad he is undefeated in 21 fights with16 knockouts but only ranked number 9 in the standing, he gained that number of knockouts because he's fighting patsies, I don't think Bivol will have a hard time disposing of this guy but at least he can keep himself busy while waiting for Beterbiev to recuperate.

Not a bad replacement given less than a month's notice to be honest. Of course, Zinad is nothing close to Beterbiev, but he's willing to put his "zero" on the line and fight the biggest name in the light heavyweight. Marketing-wise, even if he loses but manages to look somewhat decent against Bivol, it should be a nice boost to his career.
I'm glad they made this fight, as making Bivol wait till at least late Nov/early Dec didn't sound like a good idea.

He got that injury through his training, Beterbiev is one of the boxers who takes training seriously some of this training is lower body conditioning and involves lifting weights and a lot of foot and leg movements he concentrates a lot on leg conditioning because this is where his power comes whenever he throws his combinations, which is why he is prone to a leg injury.

Beterbiev may have forced himself too much because he is fighting an undefeated champion who likes him is fighting for a legacy; because of this injury and Bivol fight, Bivol could become the favourite because of the continuity of his condition, whereas Beterbiev needs to recuperate and get back to training, there were instances where fighters loses his power and slow down his movement because of surgery I hope it will not be the case for Beterbiev.

609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: May 08, 2024, 02:17:51 PM

Inoue should give Casimero and the fans a chance to makeit happen, as a fan of both, I like to see them fight so we can conclude if Casimero is just trolling or telling the truth. I guess it's quite overdue, he should fight Casimero this year.

We all want to make it happen. It is good for the boxing community; the ball is on Inoue's camp. He is the champion. He has the privilege or the luxury to pick who he will fight, the same privilege Canelo enjoy.
But if you take a closer look Inoue's camp never mentions Casimero they totally ignore him, Casimero have done a lot of taunting.

There's a viral video where Casimero is jumping and laughing when Inoue was knocked down  Cheesy Cheesy
Inoue's camp should watch the movie and see how Casimero mocked Inoue; Casimero is one animated guy who loves to mock people inside and outside the ring; just imagine the hype if these two meet in the ring.

Wow, last post was a month ago and now we are in the fight week already,

Both on the hill hill of their career, whoever wins will surely be the champion and career continue. But the loser will have to go back to the drawing board and it might take several fights if they want to continue with their career or to get back and have another crack at the belt.

The Haney-Garcia and the Canelo-Munguia were in the spotlight the whole month of April that we forget this fight when, in actuality, this has the making of a great fight as both fighters are in dire need of a win.

Loma, if he loses here, he will be contemplating retiring, and if Kambosos loses, he will go to the bottom, and it is hard to climb to the top, so it's a must-win for both fighters.

So far, this is the result of the community vote, Loma is the overwhelming favourite many still believe that Loma can recapture his old glory, if we base it on each fighter's performance against Haney, whom they both fought, Loma shows a much better performance

Lomachenko by KO   - 11 (57.9%)
Lomachenko by decision   - 8 (42.1%)
Kambosos by KO   - 0 (0%)
Kambosos by decision   - 0 (0%)
Draw   - 0 (0%)

611  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 08, 2024, 12:21:50 PM
I've a friend of mine who always complain that ever since he started gambling he haven't won a good amount, instead he'll be winning less money than what he expected but he can't stop. So I'm asking what do you suggest he should do at this case. For me I told him that he should know that gambling it's a game of risk and luck, but with the constant betting you might win the amount you've at mind someday. So what are your suggestions towards this.

I'm sure your friend has seen and heard of people winning huge amounts of money. This was embedded into his subconscious mind, and his subconscious mind plays this out whenever he is betting, so every time he bets, he is subconsciously and consciously trying to win, the second thing is the dopamine effect, a feel-good chemical that has an effect,, on our mind, so it's not about winning and losing its more on the feel-good effect brought by the dopamine.

Gamblers do things that are different from what they are saying, they want advice on how to stop gambling, but they are also thinking about their next playing sessions.

If your friend wants to stop gambling and is really serious, then the only way is for him to be under the care of a professional and full rehabilitation. Your friend is already addicted to gambling, and no advice can help him. Only a rehabilitation plan to take out all the symptoms of addiction.
612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 08, 2024, 10:31:54 AM
Because nowadays the younger ones take gambling more seriously then school. Yesterday i got back home early so I decided to step out and go to a betting shop to catch some fun while gambling, I saw two teenagers gambling with their school uniforms on them.

I asked someone besides me why did they allow this boy's to come in with their uniforms and gamble, he said did they put any restrictions that younger ones are not allowed to gamble. I said but it's not normal, I replied him what if this are your kids would you be happy seeing them gambling with their uniforms on them. So what do you guys think about this situation at hand now.

Youth is the hope of a country, so they should be properly taught and nurtured with what's valuable in life; the government should not allow it. The government and the home are responsible for this; the youth will eventually neglect their study, stop their schooling and just gamble in the hope that they can make easy money here, in the end, we will have future problems with this youth, so the government and the parents should stop it.

Here in our country, we have very strict regulations about allowing youth to gamble; it is considered corruption of minors, and a company found doing it, will face stiff penalties; if they keep doing this, allowing underage to play on their platform, they could face a jail term.

WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol will remain on the June 1st card to fight a replacement opponent after his fight against IBF/WBC/WBO 175-lb champ Artur Beterbiev suffered a ruptured meniscus knee injury and will be out of action while recovering.

ESPN reports that Bivol (22-0, 11 KOs) will stay on the June 1st card at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fans on social media would like to see David Morrell face Bivol as the replacement. Morrell is currently scheduled to fight Radivoje Kalajdzic for the vacant WBA ‘regular’ light heavyweight title on August 3rd on His Excellency Turki Alalshikh’s card at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

The postponement is unfortunate, it deprived the boxing community of the excitement in the Light Heavyweight division, but because this is already a done deal, they will hopefully face this year.

By the way, this is Malik Zinad fight highlights, as you can see many of his fights are held in small venues and if the fight with Bivol push through that will be his first fight in big venues

614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how long do we think memecoins narrative is going to last ? on: May 07, 2024, 02:25:44 PM

Now, do you really think this memecoin will do a thing especially when I believe the meme season is over

Until a new trend pops up that will gain the interest of investors or until the main supporter of Memes Elon Musk decides that he will leave these memes and promote coins that are more worthy to promote than these memes
the meme trends will continue, whales and developers are making a lot of money so they will continue to feed the market and they will continue to create and pump these memes.

These memes are annoying there are many stories of people losing investing in memes, they are everywhere there are memes related to AI, and there are memes related to NFT, but the worst is you don't know what meme will pump 100x it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack, all these developers are saying the same thing they are the next Doge or Shiba Inu.
615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Max Win is the worst thing that could happen to you. on: May 07, 2024, 01:27:08 PM

Well, this time i have 3 questions for the community, i want to see what people think about how gambling works nowadays.
If you could do KYC process before making a deposit, would you do it?

If that is the casino that you're going to play with a huge amount of money, and if you trust the casino then doing a KYC before depositing and playing is a good idea, but that does not guarantee that they will not ask you again or they will not flag your account, if there's a violation then they can ask for a KYC again or ask to submit additional information.

Quote
When a user wins a huge amount the real nightmare starts, the users have to complete the worst KYC process he will see in his life, so, should users be afraid of getting a Max Win?
If the casino is reputable and has no record of withholding their winners' payout however huge it may be and you believe that you can pass KYC because you are complete with all the documents that they are going to ask for and most importantly your account is clean then you deserve your payout.

If they refuse your payout you can post an accusation of scam here in Bitcointalk or ask casino review sites for mediation if they lose and they still hold your payout then they will mark the casino as a scam, and it will have a negative effect on their reputation.

616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: May 07, 2024, 01:00:39 PM
However, it appears his next opponent is not very good and we can be quite certain that this will be in Japan again. Inoue might not become something similar to Pacman in fame after he retires.

Who will be his next opponent? was it already announce? I hope it will be Casimero as I've been waiting for a long time to see these two make a conclusion about who is the better between them. Casimero making joke on Inoue again, he said if it was him who hit Inoue, Inoue might not be able to continue, well, it's true that Casimero has the power that's probably the reason why Inoue does not accept his challenge.

There's a rumor that Sam Goodman will be his next target that man is if I'm not wrong the number one contender on IBF also on WBF titles.

I try to research about the record of this guy and we can see that he's really a big thing also have good chances to fight Inoue https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/832952

But we don't know yet if they really aim to fight Goodman so lets wait for their official announcement since for sure they provably release the names of their next possible opponent. Also for sure Inoue's camp will not chase for any possible match up against Casimero since they don't have anything to take from him that's why Casimero will be less on their priorities. But who knows right? If Casimero will be the mandatory challenger maybe we can see this fight to happen.

Goodman is not a good option there's no challenge, even though Goodman is undefeated he is not the kind of fighter that can give problems to Inoue, people will label him cherry-picking his opponent when the only fighter that can give him real challenge is Casimero.

I don't know if Inoue's handlers and promoters are turning blind for not seeing Casimero bashing and despising Inoue on social media, people will think now that Inoue was knocked down he is vulnerable and someone like Casimero can knock him out.

Inoue's handlers are taking good care of Inoue by picking the right challenger that he can easily beat, he is no different from Canelo who knows who he will fight to establish his legacy.
617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between females and males, who are more resistant to gambling losses?  on: May 07, 2024, 11:47:12 AM
Yes, you read right as the topic stated. Also, which gender do you think can easily give up on gambling?
I did not rely for studies for my answer I just based it on logic and experience, me it's the females because they are more mature and sensitive if they think that the family they head as a mother and wife will suffer they will do everything to leave gambling and give it up.

Quote
Which gender will get worse when they are addicted to gambling?
The males are the aggressive types they hate to lose and they will always do everything to regain what they've lost, that makes males fit in the category of getting worse when they are addicted to gambling

Quote
Although some woman are strong but majority of the woman population have weak emotions and that is why I feel they will easily give up on gambling because they hate to continually loss and the second point is that since women have weak emotions, they can easily get addicted to gambling and can often practice revengeful gambling.

There is a 2013 study and I believe it's still relevant today the figure may be higher if there is a study but the results will still show that men or males are more prone to gambling addiction because of their aggressive nature, you just have to look on physical casinos to see that its the male that dominate the premises.

Quote
Only 2.9 percent of women were found to be problem gamblers, compared to 4.2 percent of men. Consider the number that we discussed previously to encompass the number of U.S. adults struggling with gambling addiction: 6 million.

618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo Alvarez - Jaime Munguia May 4 Super Middleweight Championship on: May 06, 2024, 03:51:05 PM
I honestly like Jaime Munguia in this game, although he know how good Canelo is, he respected it but he went to fight and try to beat Canelo. He is a definition of a warrior, not afraid to loss and not a afraid to fight a well known boxer.

It was a great battle but it was evident that Canelo has better skills than  Jaime Munguia.

If we look at his record https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/659924, he had 43 wins and 34 of that are from KO, so that's how good he is, but you know, Canelo is a different breed, he is a champion and a very popular boxer for a reason. it's safe to say that although Munguia have tried, but he is still not yet on the level of Canelo. And for Canelo, I have a message for him, "please fight someone that is on your level"... Grin

Unfortunately, there is news that his next opponent is Berlanga, not yet verified and I don't think Berlanga can offer a challenge against Canelo he is just a regular undefeated fighters he has a good record fighting nameless and low-level fighters to improve his records, if you match him to Benavidez or Munguia Berlanga will not last the whole 12 rounds.

I hope there's a change of mind from Canelo and they agree to match him to a fighter who deserves to share the ring with him and that's David Benavidez, Canelo should fight him don't wait for Father Time to catch him before fighting him or he will be in a disadvantage.

Locking this thread now and we'll wait for his next fight this year.

620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you disguise on your real gambling lifestyle just to help a friend/relative? on: May 06, 2024, 02:44:47 PM

Does any of you guys have any negative side of gambling habit in you which literally you advices anyone not to exhibit it?
Or can you afford to hide your real disreputable gambling life just to help an astray gambling friend or relative?

I used to gamble with money that I couldn't afford to lose I used to chase my losses and I used to take a loan just to gamble these are the traits that you don't want your friends or relatives to experience and you can effectively advise them if it's coming from your experience, so its better to be honest and transparent.

Why would you hold out when it's already in the past and since we experienced how it feels, it's just ok to share your experiences and your bad times in gambling so they will avoid these pitfalls.
