601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever regretted selling your bitcoins ? on: January 18, 2024, 04:41:49 PM
If you've been "around" bitcoin for long enough, I think everyone likely regrets selling bitcoin at some point in time.  I certainly regret selling the bitcoin that I had bought when the price of bitcoin was roughly $250.  Now that being said, nothing is ever guaranteed so at times I have the feeling that it sort of is what it is, I didn't know, no one knew when bitcoin was going to blast up to nearly 70k.
602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you pay attention on other people bet and it amount, and does it affect you? on: January 18, 2024, 04:38:41 PM
When it comes to paying attention to how other people bet, I absolutely pay attention.  I am of the belief that you can always improve upon your gambling skills and watching other bet can help you grow in this area.  It can also help teach you lessons on how NOT to bet/gamble.  I don't base my gambling specifically off others, but it does help me to grow and learn.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 18, 2024, 04:36:23 PM
I personally could care less.  I've never been one to try and be anybody but myself.  If someone judges me for gambling, then I judge them for being judgmental (oh the irony lol).  My gambling doesn't negatively effect anyone on this planet.  I also don't have a gambling issue what so ever, so it's just not a huge deal if someone sees this as a negative for myself.
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 18, 2024, 04:34:26 PM
Starting to take a look at the games for this weekend to place my bets, and man, only 8 teams left is depressing.  I mean every season tends to go really fast, but especially this one for some reason.

I don't feel nearly as confident making picks for this week like I did last week.  The games just get so much more competitive now.

That said, here's my early picks..

Ravens > Texans -9.5
Niners > Packers -9.5
Lions > Bucs -6.5
Chiefs> Bills +2.5

605  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: January 16, 2024, 04:00:31 PM
This is a good question you raise here, and one I think a lot may be misinformed on.  Yes, there are certainly watched that make for solid investments.  For whatever reason people love Rolex watches.  I think the market is entirely manipulated, and that their watches look very average..but that's just me.  Sure they can make for good investments, but not like bitcoin as they don't nearly have the same upside.  Also, I'd rather invest my money in say an S&P 500 ETF like Vanguards VOO fund, which is a much safer option that is well diversified.
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies on: January 16, 2024, 03:56:21 PM
Working in finance as an advisor I think I've got a pretty good feel on how to answer this question as my clients are constantly asking me about bitcoin/cryptocurrency.  The "average" view of most is one that is uninformed. Most people really have no clue how bitcoin works, regardless of whether they own any or not.  I also find that it's almost 50/50 when it comes to those whom are willing to listen and understand about bitcoin, and the other half being ones that have no interested in even learning about it as the theory of how crypto money works goes against what they know money to be ( or at leas think they know ).
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social aspects of online gambling on: January 16, 2024, 03:52:41 PM
For me the social aspect of gambling really doesn't matter unless I'm playing with friends. I'll provide an example.  Let's say I'm playin in a Poker/Texas Hold'em tournament.  If I'm playing with a bunch of friends then of course it's more fun having a social aspect behind it, whether that means being in person, or playing online and all being connected to say a discord chat where we can discuss the game.  Otherwise if I'm playing poker at a physical casino, I really don't care much for conversing with others.  It sort of hurts my strategy.
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Good sportsbetting content on: January 16, 2024, 03:49:22 PM
Are you doing this to post here on the forum, or do you have some sort of website/blog that you plan on simply providing a link for on the forum?  I like seeing quick picks and short reasoning behind them.  For example a screen shot of someone's picks for each game and then a little blurb below them describing quickly why they are choosing that bet.
609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 16, 2024, 03:46:43 PM
Had a pretty good weekend of betting. I just wish I would start putting more down when I'm feeling confident about my bets like I was this weekend.  I don't feel as confident about this coming weeks bets.

Texans > Browns +2
Chiefs > Dolphins ML
Bills> Steelers ML
Cowboys > Packers -7
Rams>Lions +3
Bucs>Eagles +3

Only got one of these wrong.  Even though it was a winner, I'm not so sure the ML was a good call for a 10pt spread for the Bills Steelers game.

However, if Jerry Jones wants to win a superbowl, he should give Bill Belichick everything he needs and he wants. If this is giving Bill to act very much similar to a general manager while also being a head coach, give it to him. Jerry Jones is 81 years old, he will certainly want a new superbowl to bring with him in the coffin.

Jerry Jones telling his assistant to call Bill Belichick

Jerry is about as hands on of an owner as any owner is in all of sports. He doesn’t like relinquishing control in terms of GM type responsibilities. Also, while I do believe Belichick is one of the greatest coaches of all time, I do not think he’s a very good General Manager. He’s actually quite terrible when it comes to making draft picks. His recent track record is quite poor. No Brady, not sure he has any rings at all right now.

Agreed, however, the argument is he is 81 years old and he might want 1 more superbowl to bring with him to heaven hehe. He might be forced to give Belichick what he wants. It might also be good for Belichick because the Cowboys does not have a slot in the 1st round of the draft.

But if it is not Belichick, who? There are articles mentioning that Mike Vrabel and Jim Harbaugh might be the best replacements for McCarthy.

@nutildah. The Eagles' defense made the Buccaneers appear as superbowl contenders hehehehe.

I mean I guess it's possible.  Maybe since he so old and time is a tickin, he will go outside his norm when it comes to hiring a coach.

Hopefully anyone who arranges to meet in person with a $50,000 token follows the necessary steps not to get robbed.

Meeting at a police station is never a bad idea.

I am not quite certain why the sportsbooks were favoring the Browns with a field goal. They have Flacco, the Texans have the rookie of the year Stroud and hometown advantage hehe. It is also quite unexpected to see that the game went to a high total of 38 points only in the first half.

On the next game, agreed to all of you on the Chiefs in the snow.

I never saw the spread anywhere for anything different than 2pts. That said, totally agree. Head scratcher.

Kind of glad I missed the first game. Was rooting for the Browns but it was a washout for them.

I got the cheifs in a cold one.  I think it's supposed to be upwards of negative 10 degrees with the windchill.

Ended up being -22 with the wind chill at certain points, they said. Dropped from -5 to -9 throughout the course of the game. Definitely not Dolphins weather. Plus, Tua was born and raised in Hawaii, then played college in Alabama... he's just not built or ready for the cold weather, and it showed.

Both teams ended up missing catches due to what looked like a frozen ball & ice on the field, but Tua just couldn't function. Poor guy. I felt sorry for him. Mahomes gave him a big man hug at the end of the game, that was nice.

Here's the mandatory Taylor Swift shot for you guys, because I know you all want to see it:

They showed her every single time Kelce got more than 3 yards  Cheesy and then more in addition to that. If Al Michaels was there he woulda made a comment about it... which is why he wasn't there, lol.

The Texans Browns game was fun for the first quarter, but yeah a blow out in the end. I felt very confident they’d take it down. Just wish I had put more btc on it. I also was confident in the Chiefs, but didn’t put anything down on them, smh.

I wonder if there were any sites with T Swift props. Like wonder what the o/u was for times shown. There’s a conspiracy going around that the NFL and NBC planned for this game to be on Peacock 🦚, knowing that there’s a ton of “Swifties” who would be tuning in specifically just to see her, and we all know how obsessed they are with her, so it was a home run marketing ploy by the NFL/NBC.

Speaking of, what total horse shit putting the game on Peacock was. Corporate greed is so unbelievably bad it just keeps getting worse and worse.

614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Claiming ETH Token from Trezor wallet on: January 13, 2024, 05:57:47 PM
Upon opening up my Trezor wallet today I noticed that with my ETH it says there's a token to claim.  Has anyone seen this before? Is this legitimate? Any help/feedback is much appreciated!

615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if authorities launch a tax for owning bitcoin? on: January 13, 2024, 05:38:09 PM
I think this is pretty ridiculous and there's no chance of this ever happening.  I guess it's never a bad idea to think about all sorts of different possibilities that there could be coming with owning bitcoin, but, I just don't see this one ever coming to fruition.  I mean how would they even go about tracking everyone down and holding them accountable?

Also, if they ever come to tax my bitcoin that I'm simply hodling, I will let them know they can suck it out of the tip of my ... yeah.
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your predictions for the state of Bitcoin in 2024? on: January 13, 2024, 05:34:51 PM
I honestly expected a lot more out of bitcoin when the ETF news finally hit this week.  I knew that all the rumors and discussions going on about bitcoin over the last few months had "fueled the fire", so to speak, where bitcoin did sort of already have the news of the bitcoin ETF being approved baked in to the price.

I thought for sure once it was announced btc would fly past 50k, but I of course was wrong.
617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: January 13, 2024, 05:27:19 PM
I mean are there actually people around here who say this, who say you can't be a millionaire in sports betting?  This honestly extremely goofy.  There are plenty of high rollers who gambling in the millions who are successful.  If there wasn't any room for success or to win, no one would ever gamble then.

I find it a bit silly people don't believe you can make a whole lot of money by sports betting.
618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You'll be a discipline gambler in sports if you have a real bankroll. on: January 13, 2024, 05:24:49 PM
Yeah I mean this is how I actually approach all forms of gambling. If and when I go to an in person casino and won't be doing any sort of sports betting at all, I will normally take out a specific amount of cash from my bank account and my deal to myself is I'm able to blow all of it, but if I win a bunch, then I will normally save half of that and try and gamble to win more with the other half.

Just how I got about it anyhow.
619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 13, 2024, 05:01:44 PM
I wouldn't call Ravens superbowl lock based on Lamar postseason history

I wouldn't call anyone a "lock" per say, I just can't see the Ravens or Niners not being in it.  Lamar is likely to be this years MVP, almost a certainly in fact, but I agree that he's not been the regular season MVP so much in the post-season.  Now I'm not sure I abide by this saying, but they do say "defense wins championships" and I believe the Ravens to have the best defense in the league, so that will certainly play a sizable role.

Dude...I feel like mahones is the new Brady in terms of counting him out and then come playoffs they just roll.  I'm with you with the Ravens but when I had to throw money down I'm all in on the cheifs until I see someone knock them out.  Mahones did it on one leg last year.  He has 2 now! Lol.

Well Mahomes is hands down the unquestioned best football player on the planet, and he's already in my top 5 best QBs ever.  I mean I got Brady and maybe Manning (Eli of course  Cheesy ) above him right now.

Here's my picks for the games this nice warm cozy weekend lol...

Texans > Browns +2
Chiefs > Dolphins ML
Bills> Steelers ML
Cowboys > Packers -7
Rams>Lions +3
Bucs>Eagles +3

Shame on scarce. Whomever this Chris guy is, he doesn’t properly run an auction website and would greatly benefit from making basic, necessary changes. It’s hard to not simply think he’s being cheap, as surely he’s aware of his websites obvious limitations.  Total bullshit.
