6001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IEO - new ICO? what is difference? on: May 22, 2019, 06:21:01 AM
why is shock about IEO, IDK, can someone help me with short answers?
IEO stands for Initial Exchange Offering started by Binance. No need for that token to wait until they get listed to an exchange because the exchange where they held that offering is the one that will list it after the sale.

Some articles that might give you more info to understand what IEO means:

6002  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Technology development taking us to? on: May 22, 2019, 05:48:43 AM
During my elementary days, I've learned the meaning of technology on my subject Science and Technology and in simple terms, "it is to make our lives easier". And it's happening today because of the innovation and technology that was brought to us, we seem to work with computers, gadgets, smart phones, machineries but still it needs manpower.

almost we are not caring anyone who is even sit next to us while we are using the mobiles.
Like when you're in the bus or trains and someone behind, infront and beside you doesn't care standing reading and touching his/her phones while the headsets are on? I don't have problem with those people, I'm minding my own business just like them.
6003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We Create Our own Bull Run....and everyday might be a Bull Run on: May 22, 2019, 05:19:33 AM
~snip~

There is an article circulating right now that Satoshi is recognized by US government as the bitcoin creator, of course its not true but this could mean something else to those who look into the future. Bottom may actually be back if things goes worse.

The support though is getting stronger for the price didn't drop to less than $7k, this is a good thing but this is just we could hope.
I think you got the wrong article or you misunderstood it. Craig Wright who's been proclaiming himself as Satoshi Nakamoto filed a copyright for the bitcoin whitepaper and the code of it.

It's like everyone would love to reach their destination, only if they're already inside the train. I think the OP might be holding a lot of coins that's why that is the title of the thread.
@OP While I understand how profitable the increase went, all of the traders/holders have their own cases. There are still a lot of investors waiting to buy at the bottom of it, to maximize the coin that they can hold simply.
Yeah likely that big holders won't feel the market when it's plummeting because they are in for quantity, versus the portfolio of someone who's not really a big holder that experiences some slip and disappointment whenever the market goes down.
6004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day! on: May 22, 2019, 04:52:26 AM
Yes I watched the interview he did during the segment which aired over the weekend and mentioned 1 bitcoin was only worth about a penny (two and half). Embarrassed
Yes, way back then only few bitcoin knows bitcoin and demand was low so that's very usual. AFAIK, he didn't regret to pay with those 10,000BTC because during that time price is really too low.

laszlo made a history and his name will be remembered forever with the transaction he made for trading 10k BTC for pizza. He created the first trade ever.

By the way, we can learn a lesson from this case. If there are undervalued coins right now that have a potential in the future, those can also make your fortune.
Instead of focusing with those potential coins that would pump in the future, you should focus with bitcoin.

6005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops on: May 22, 2019, 04:31:48 AM
Sending your ETH wallet may result into you losing your tokens because it depends on the ethereuem wallet you are using, if you are using blockchain wallet and you send the ETH wallet address to receive erc20 token it will not go through. Better to download myether wallet and take you erc20 address from there.
There's a way to extract/export those ERC20 tokens that were sent to ethereum blockchain wallet address.

https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000019826-What-if-I-sent-ERC20-tokens-to-my-Blockchain-wallet-

But you can't send those ERC20 tokens that were sent to that ethereum blockchain wallet address.

6006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: HOW I BECAME A GAMBLER on: May 21, 2019, 11:46:51 AM
Just like the normal story of other gamblers, they tried it and promised themselves to not stop it. Gambling doesn't have bad reputation, it is the people that gives it bad reputation because of the undisciplined gamblers that has been sharing bad experience.

Those experiences like they are selling their properties to continue gambling and at the end of it, they get nothing and lose all of it.
6007  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Andrew Yang or John McAfee? on: May 21, 2019, 10:50:54 AM
I'm not familiar with the platform that John McAfee is proposing if ever he sits on White House. I guess he's just running to gain attention of the public and advertise bitcoin prior to his prediction that it will reach $1M by 2020 eoy.

And Andrew Yang's proposal of $1,000. I'm not living on US but I've read comments from people in there worrying on how he's going to sustain that amount if it targets all of the citizens. Politics is a serious thing in US and it's presidency that's being followed mostly by majority of the countries. Is someone from US can say on what's the current situation about presidency there and who's the people rooting for?
6008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We Create Our own Bull Run....and everyday might be a Bull Run on: May 21, 2019, 10:13:11 AM
Lets therefore be careful since our bull run might be now  Smiley.
In what specific thing we should be careful of? Your title, I'm against with that everyday might be a bull run? no. We just came from bottom and that already contradicts to your title because it's not a bull run and I still don't think that we're on the bull run.

So some one is experiencing his bull run at the moment while many are still waiting due to timing differences.
Those who are still waiting for the right time, they don't get tired of waiting for their own bottom although we've actually hit the bottom last December 2018.
6009  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Don't use web wallet on: May 21, 2019, 09:08:26 AM
Web wallets are risky.
Risky in a way that you don't hold your funds because they don't provide your keys.

We can still web wallet but choose the ones that are reliable enough or use them with a very tiny amount for transfers. I don't use Coinbase but their reputation is well known and they have millions of users that trust them.

As figured out, it's a bug. I also experienced this long time ago with an exchanger, the balance didn't reflected to my account although it's already confirmed on the network. But as soon as I reached the support, they'd fixed it immediately.
6010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Less than 1 Year for Block Halving on: May 21, 2019, 05:02:35 AM
I might compare the scenario last 2016-2017 with a twist.

We went through halving of 2016 but the effect of it was seen to be positive by next year. But this time it's different, more institution have joined and big-named personalities. I'm not eyeing with $100,000 but I don't doubt that we will see it at once.

Doubling $20,000 would be ideal but still I'm not very confident with that unless we see some signs of it through price motion.

yea, and its even before it moved to PoS)))) was there any non-scam use case besides cryptokitties there?). this is besides the fact it was shit @$1k+, and its not getting better, for some reason.

and no, i am definitely not  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy https://www.coindesk.com/mit-testing-smart-contract-powered-bitcoin-lightning-network
Well if that is your take about ETH.  Wink

Yeah, the price did actually hit $1,300 - $1,400 for eth and that's what people is looking again because of the possibility that it can be back again there once the bulll run gets in.

Thanks for that info as about smart contracts on bitcoin. So it's still on a test phase, I didn't knew about that.
6012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the wallets you have been used in the past and currently using? on: May 21, 2019, 04:00:04 AM
I am currently using electrum for storing bitcoin and stored my private keys in hard drive and MEW for ethereum and tokens.
I think you shouldn't write your private keys on a hard drive. Or at least create a back up and write it on a piece of paper that you can keep or a type of paper that won't get old by time. I have used electrum before but I shifted to a ledger nano s now for keeping bitcoin.

I'm planning to get my ledger nano x soon.

I did used coinbase when I was new but lately found that it is not safe to hold cryptos for long.
Yeah true that our funds aren't secured on exchanges, we don't hold and they don't the private keys.
I am not holding huge amount of bitcoin so I thought a hardware wallet for me is not needed so just stick with electrum and also always updating it to get better security.

Writing at the piece of paper is good but not sure about the reliability of it,so have digital backup only.
Writing at a piece of paper is like when you buy a ledger nano s, they provide a piece of paper for you to write the recovery phrases so it's very usual style of keeping your private keys. It's very safe and you just have to keep it somewhere that you are the one that can get it.

Like higher place that even kids can't reach it. You can write it on a notebook and just put some kind of codes that you can only understand it because if someone sees and reads it and he has the understanding of importing private keys, you are in the danger.
6013  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 4 hours and 15 mins learning forum and a long way for a newbie to go..... on: May 21, 2019, 01:41:40 AM
That's so nice of you, keep on reading more reliable topics in here and just ask if there is something that you don't understand.

Enjoy and welcome.
6014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: My MEW wallet hacked... please help me on: May 21, 2019, 01:06:15 AM
Sorry for your loss mate, I was a victim too late 2018; once tokens have been transferred there's nothing you can do although you can prevent it from happening again by bookmarking the right mew site and if there's any bounty you're working on write to them or you just watch ur address like a hawk and move any token that comes in before the thief does.
No he still have an option if the hacker address is monitor or reported but the OP seems to have loose hope cause I can someone who already have search and knew the exchange site where the coins are held now and the OP didnt say anything.

To moniter the hacker's address what they can do?

If you have the address you may track till it moves to the exchangers hand after it will keep on moves to other when other sells that ethereum or any coins to other person.
Waste of time on tracking it.
It can be tracked like that guy did on that thread but it's still op's due responsibility to inform that exchange to stop that address owner to withdraw.

But the verdict will still depend on the exchange if they will allow it or not. Otherwise, they will answer that they don't care about outside transaction because it's no longer their responsibility and range of their jurisdiction.
6015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Technical Analysis 101: How to Identify Market Patterns on: May 21, 2019, 12:35:41 AM
I'm not very good in technical analysis and I leave to hand over it to the experts. The behavior of this market is hard to predict whether you're very good at the charts, I see that very few people has the accurate prediction base on their technical analysis.

To be honest, I don't click the article and I doubt it that others did until they read this post of mine.
6016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum drop below $240 again do you believe? on: May 20, 2019, 07:53:17 AM
Will Ethereum drop below $240 again do you believe?
Yes, I believe that it can drop below $240. What do you expect with ethereum? won't there be a chance for it to go lower? the market swings from time to time and it can go as high as possible but it can go lower than that.

We already saw it dropped up to $80 and that's totally a very disappointing moment for me. But with the good setting and trend today, it has risen back to $250 and about to reach back to $300 very soon.

6018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Waves the Most Overrated Altcoin? on: May 20, 2019, 06:28:40 AM
Price will only go up a bit if there's a demand and people are buying it. Whethere there are so many updates, the demand from the people will still decide on how the price would go. Add also those investors that are starting to abandon the project because of that.

id say it would be bch/eth.
BCH and ETH is overrated? I'd agree with BCH but ETH? no it's not overrated.

also why would you use waves when you can do smart contracts on bitcoin way cheaper and with robust security (thanks ⚡️)?
Smart contracts on bitcoin? or you mean ethereum?
6019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Expertise Ideas- $100,000,000 into bitcoin for 10 months :) on: May 20, 2019, 05:50:05 AM
If I have $100,000,000 and want to gradually push the price of bitcoin up for 10 month what should I do?
It's very simple, you just have to keep on buying with that period of time. Yes, buying for 10 months if your goal is to push the prices up. Although this is already a billion dollar market still that can help to push the price for few dollars.

2) What form of incentive can be given to new/old traders to constantly trade Bitcoin against other cryptocurency for the period of 10 month?
There's no actual incentive that new/old traders should receive, this is a decentralized and a stand alone market so I don't think there's a need for everybody to have that incentive on your mind.
6020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which exchange is going to be the next high volume Altcoin exchange? on: May 20, 2019, 05:16:42 AM
Why there's a need to replace cryptopia? look on how many exchange we've got now.

https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges/

There's more with other exchange and I think if its just about the high volume of altcoins, centralized exchanges like Binance will still lead this kind of basis.
