It is ironic that a lot of us are now thinking that for cryptocurrency to move forward, we'll need the backing of financial institutions. The same institutions that we're fighting when all this started.

Most IEOs I see are on LAToken, I think it was them who started it. I was not aware Bittrex almost had an IEO.

Anyway, do not take any of these predictions seriously. It would be more fun if they place a bet on their predictions.

Regulation as you already stated is one.
More infrastructure is another.

Maybe reduce the hype around crypto and focus more on the development of legit projects.

You cannot do this. This is like making cryptocurrencies centralized. Just deal with the fact that people are free to sell their coins/tokens at whatever price they want. Dumping may be a problem for you but it is an opportunity for others to get in at a cheaper price.

Can you link me to where you saw or read the Bittrexx IEO?
IEOs were already existing before but it has not gained much traction until Binance launched their own. Waves for example also have theirs but it's not that popular. Sure IEOs have their advantages but I do not see it completely replacing ICOs.

Why sign up to these centralized exchanges in the first place? Before signing up, you are asked to agree to the terms. Somewhere in there says that they keep your private keys, so why agree? Stay with DEX if you're unhappy.

There are already OTC exchanges like Coinbase.

I think this is what some projects are trying to solve. Projects like Equal have created a wallet easy enough use that I think a grandma or a 5-year old (with a little guide) can use. This is from their website "A wallet crafted to reduce the steep learning curve of the blockchain."  

Same thought. It depends on what the project is trying to achieve. I know of an ICO that's into renewable energy and it has a soft cap of around 170 million Euros.

I guess you came in at a bad time. If you were involved in bounties in 2017, things could have turned up differently for you.
