6021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain will build bitcoin data center in Texas on: October 23, 2019, 02:03:11 PM
Have you heard the most viral news that just comes in the crypto world. Almost all bitcoin news websites have its eyes on the new project by bitmain. Bitmain is planning to build a one of a kind and one of their biggest mining farm at Rockdale, Texas. They said that this mining farm has a maximum potential of running a 300 megawatts in the future. Also the mayor of Rockdale is happy with this project since it will provide new jobs to the locals.

As to why it is viral here is my proof:
https://www.coindesk.com/why-bitmain-is-building-the-worlds-largest-bitcoin-mine-in-rural-texas
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitmain-launches-worlds-largest-crypto-mining-facility-in-texas
https://www.theblockcrypto.com/linked/43950/bitmain-opens-a-large-crypto-mining-farm-in-texas
https://news.bitcoin.com/bitmain-aims-to-build-a-300mw-texas-mining-farm/

This project will really help strengthen the bitcoin network. Also this is a sign that bitcoin is really profitable.
That's a lot of power to dedicate to mining rather than more important stuff. I hope they'll at least try to use eco-friendly electricity. I understand why Bitmain is moving to the US at this point, China is too unwelcoming when it comes to mining. But China already has terrible ecological problems, and I just hope that mining won't become another thing spoiling our planet... Mining becomes more difficult, so it would make sense for some miners to back off. Spending more and more electricity on this does not make sense, it will just increase the difficulty rate and make things even worse.
6022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Statement against people who say Bitcoin is a Scam on: October 23, 2019, 01:41:39 PM
A scam is a conscious attempt to deprive people of something valuable (usually, money). When Satoshi created Bitcoin, I don't think that what this person had in mind was robbing people. And I think most people would agree about it. Bitcoin was not even a commercial project or something, not was it an investment opportunity. It was a kind of money people would be able to use without involving intermediaries or supporting certain countries by using their money. If people buy Bitcoin and then sell it when the price goes down and then call it a scam, I think it's their own misunderstanding of what Bitcoin is for and how it works, they should not blame Bitcoin for that.
6023  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: October 23, 2019, 11:44:29 AM
Happy Anniversary!
I think that my implementation is not a good one, but I just wanted to make something, because Bitcointalk has been an important part of my life for years now. The idea was to make a collage of posts because posts can also be considered as something graphical. They were supposed to be the most important and interesting posts on the forum, but I had a big trouble searching through threads and trying to find such posts, so if you asked me how I chose the posts you can see on the image, I probably wouldn't be able to tell you. But anyway, here's my entry:

6024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine President a pro-cryto president on: October 20, 2019, 06:01:41 PM
It's awkward when you're Ukrainian and pro-crypto, but learn this stuff in a discussion by people from various topics on bitcointalk Cheesy. When I google "Zelensky supports cryptocurrencies" in Ukrainian, though, there's no relevant information available. The same happens with googling "Zelensky is for Bitcoin". Only when I google the minister of digital transformation, I can see that there've been talks about it recently. The announcement in Ukrainian says, though, that the point of making cryptos legal is to make crypto-users pay taxes so that the state can benefit from that. Anyway, the talks about cryptos and blockchain are there in Ukraine, that's true, and they come from people of Zelensky, but not from Zelensky himself, so the thread's name is very misleading.
6025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Donating the Gambling profits on: October 20, 2019, 05:45:56 PM
Have you ever thought of donating the gambling profits to a charitable cause ?  Sometime people won a big lottery or very high amount of money from betting & gambling games.  Do you ever thought of being generous and helping the poor with this money ?
I've never won a big sum while gambling, but the idea never occurred to me. I think it could be a good project. Like a charity fund for people who one their money gambling. This could make the reputation of gamblers better in the eyes of society, and I suppose it would make sense to dedicate a part of these donations to centers that help people overcome gambling addiction. Donations to the fund could be done either by individuals or by casinos. After all, the house wins eventually, so it would make sense for it to share some of its profits with those who could really use them.
6026  Economy / Gambling / Re: GameKatana - Player To Player Matches on: October 20, 2019, 05:34:30 PM
We switched a new design and will keep going to improve it.
Come on, it starts looking like you are trolling people. As I said, it's not about the colors you picked or something like that yet. It's about some very basic things any online gambling website should have. Your website looks very raw like it was created in a rush by a bunch of people who are not very good at it and without much information to share with people. It's small, it lacks important information which I've mentioned in my previous post, and it's buggy (for instance, whatever happens when I push the sign that looks like ≡ is not supposed to happen. If you want people to take you seriously and respect you, you should show some respect and offer something that looks like a product as well. Good luck!
6027  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Poker courses, & ebooks at unbeatable prices (raiseyouredge, upswing ...) on: October 20, 2019, 05:19:23 PM
I agree with SyGambler that a website is important here. These are just small pieces of texts written by a newbie and encouraging people to send money somewhere. This is not the best thing to do, someone might even red flag you for that. If you want to offer services, you need a nice website with explanations of what kind of stuff you are offering, perhaps some free samples to give a better idea to potential customers, etc. Then you can have the prices and services mentioned. But if you don't even have a website, it's ridiculous to write that the tips cost hundreds of dollars and now they are available for less than $100. Come on, be realistic here Wink.
6028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🍌 🦍 EosKong - provably fair EOS game 🍌 on: October 20, 2019, 04:53:04 PM
The op has not been online yet. Perhaps it's because it was Saturday and Sunday. It's a job, so we should not expect a person to work 24/7, you know. We should just wait until the answers come. I hope it'll happen tomorrow. I agree with others that a website is clearly underdeveloped. I guess you should change the name of the thread, adding something like "In development" to it. This way you can get some feedback and suggestions as you're working with the website, but not confuse people like it's ready. For instance, when I clicked "about us", it had the lorem ipsum stuff, and this "Please run scatter and press the button" thing on the main page is rather confusing. Moreover, nothing happens after pressing "done". And the links to social media accounts are not there yet as well.
6029  Economy / Gambling / Re: PlayRoyal.com | 70% Profits Returned To Players | PvP Poker, Dice, Slots & More on: October 20, 2019, 04:44:10 PM
Good morning Coolcryptovator, thank you for your questions and comments. We've embedded the referral link to see the outreach of this thread and we invite you to create your own link once you register with ourselves. I'm the CEO of Play Royal and this is our official thread here, and we would be happy to add any additional information you would like to know. What do you feel is missing?

The website is live right now with active players and you shouldn't need to use a VPN to connect to our platform, if I can be of further assistance please let me know  Smiley
It's a good explanation for using a referral link, I guess, but just so you know, as a rule, referral links are not allowed on Bitcointalk. Since they are not allowed, it might be that people won't click it because of seeing that it's a referral, and this way you'll have fewer visitors than you could have had if you just offered the official link.
As for the website, it looks pretty good, and it's clear that it's not a totally new and unknown kind of place. However, it seems unbelievable that people won 23 million dollars there. And if the website has been around and doing great for a while, then how come that you created the ANN thread here just now?
6030  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. on: October 20, 2019, 04:31:58 PM
Come on! I was looking for the Specials under the All Sports section many many times and I cannot find it. I thought there I can find the matches for the Tron challenge. I only need to scroll down a little. What a bummer!

I'm still not able to find the specials no matter what I do , but luckily this time sportsbet left a link in the promo page that will take you to the specials
everyone kept telling me that I should see them in the front page but they aren't appearing for me as I can tell
I suppose my situation is different, but it also indicates that something might be wrong. When I access the main webpage of sportsbet.io, there is a link to "Sportsbet Specials" in the navigation on the left in the "All sports" section. I'm attaching the screenshot with "Sportsbet Specials" circled in the red so that you can see what I mean since I guess you don't even have that link there.

When I click on that link, however, even though there are sections like Matches, Leagues, In-play, etc., none of them have any offers. As for the TRON Challenge, it seems to be not in Sportsbet Specials anyway. It's in the "Promotions" section which one can find in the bottom navigation panel under "Sports".

I have been tried to create a deposit address, but its took long time and I had wait couple of minutes but still it was on loading. OP is website is under construction? I don't know what was exact reason that I won't create deposit address. On the other hand you should add more info on your website l, its looking like a blank page. Also you should be more creative to create ANN thread, just buy copper membership and you will able to create good design. It's also most important to attract gamblers. Even check deposit also just loading...........

For me creating a deposite address was in a second but, I was not happy with the layout and the less professional design of the website. OP your team has to improve it. Since, there is no registration required my primary concer will be my opponent player as it can be a bot that I might be playing with.
Firstly, thank you for your informative feedback.
Since nobody didn't like the design, i informed my developers for a new design.
It's not about the colors, fonts or something like that. It's just that a website cannot contain one big image and one small box in the left corner! It looks like something created by a person who just started learning web-design. Where's the logo, information, animation, cookie policy, terms of service, webpages, navigation, secure connection...? There are so many things it lacks that it's even hard to call it a website. If you want people to get interested, you should at least offer such basic things on your website. Good luck!
6032  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you guys think about the death cross ? on: October 19, 2019, 07:13:19 PM
It's not science to me, it's just making predictions by finding patterns. It can come true or not, pretty much like any other prediction. Bitcoin is not very predictable, and it would be strange if it was, given that the price is not regulated by any authority. I hope that people will stay calm, won't make this "profecy" self-fulfilling. Bitcoin is holding the position, for now, it may or may not keep doing so regardless of any crosses or whatever else people see while analyzing the charts. If people who have a lot of Bitcoins believe the FUD around the cross thing, it can bring us another price drop. But saying that the drop was caused by the cross would be committing the post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy.
6033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Holders Protection on: October 19, 2019, 06:51:03 PM
We are now seeing the FDIC extend coverage to non-banks that do not have the intention to ever become a bank. What cannot go on forever won't.

My hypothesis is that a primary hurdle that keeps people from seeing bitcoin as an option for their savings strategy is the learning curve with safe storage combined with a lack of consumer protection offerings for those that are willing to sacrifice their financial liberties for custodial security. This market segment includes early majority and late majority adopters. I understand Bitgo has tackled this problem set to some effect and seems established as an industry leader. Some other interesting teams are looking to nail down custody as a service, so I feel there is some validation here.

In searching for solutions that might convince people that see this as a fatal flaw for Bitcoin, I thought about dao projects that we've seen rolled out with varying levels of success and blazing flames of failure.
If people need protection from volatility, there are futures contracts exactly for that. They are if you are confident about a certain deal, and you can win or lose depending on what really happens at that point in the future, but at least you know what to expect. Interest rates are boring anyway, IMO. We have some "incentives" to hold money in the banks in my country, but this percentage is miserable. If people need protection from hacks, then they need insurances for their bitcoins. Some insurance companies are now offering deals to insure cryptocurrencies, but this market niche is still fairly empty, although I think it won't be so for long.
6034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early investors and adopters backing out or losing their hope is a warning sign. on: October 19, 2019, 06:16:20 PM
so the summary of your wall of text is that you saw a couple of tweets from one person on twitter (who had a business that failed 7 years ago) who was saying he basically has no bitcoin but is bag holding a lot of the two most centralized altcoins and now you think "early adopters" are backing out?!!! how did you come up with that conclusion exactly Shocked
After reading the text I even forgot about the name of the thread Cheesy. I agree that it does not seem accurate. Surely, many people from the early days are still working on Bitcoin. However, the original post makes a fair point that people care mainly about the price and profits rather than technology and financial freedom. And it's probably true that it's not what we are supposed to be thinking about. I don't know, I think that Bitcoin is a great alternative to banks, proving that people can make direct transactions without these giant intermediaries. It's also the biggest thing I can think of that demonstrates how free market works, how the price can stay unregulated and do so pretty good. But I cannot forget about the price if I know that today I can buy that and that with this money, but a month about is was significantly more than that...
6035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for the World and Community on: October 19, 2019, 05:56:35 PM
What do you obesrve in the world today?
What is the advantage of the world today from the world yesterday?
Inovation is good but sometimes there is a disadvantage.
Do we have world peace? When bitcoin is invented what is the help of bitcoin in the world? I made this thread for the members to comeup with something that can help the world or the communities as a whole. Not for their own interest only. What do you guys think about bitcoin and the environment can we help the environment with bitcoin? Can we help poor people using bitcoin? Can we help poor communities using bitcoin.? I'm searching for much higher cause of cryptocurrency than just medium of trade or source of income. Maybe it can be bigger and greater. Maybe bitcointalk community can help.
Cryptocurrency adoption in African countries is going rather actively, and people from other regions where there are many people living in bad conditions also use them quite often. But the main point of Bitcoin is not to solve the world poverty problem. There are other people solving that, and this year's Nobel in Economics was given to people who offered their approach to this problem, by the way. IMO the problem of poverty in the contemporary world is clearly the problem of redistribution of good as well as the problem of extreme corruption in poor countries which makes it difficult to actually help those people. Bitcoin is giving people freedom from the governments, freedom from states, banks, authorities, and fiat. This is also a very important thing to do, and it can be empowering.
6036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No Capacity to Kill Bitcoin! on: October 19, 2019, 05:40:48 PM

The rest of the world are looking at the example that the USA are giving them and if they start banning Bitcoin, most ignorant smaller countries would not question their actions and just follow their example.  Roll Eyes

It is sad to hear but this is the truth because other countries do not spend time studying Bitcoin so they can create their own regulations but instead they are just following what the US will do. So it's not surprising that if US collapse then other countries will follow.
These two things don't seem so related to me. If the US economy collapses, some countries will suffer from it, of course, but not because they are following the policies the US is setting for cryptos. It can happen because many countries are economically dependent on such giants as the USA. If the US dollar collapses, however, it can lead to the collapse of many national currencies that are dollar-oriented, sort of. As for other countries adopting the regulations of the USA, I actually don't think it's a common practice. The US is particularly harsh, other countries sometimes take a milder approach on this matter. For instance, in my country, the regulations are still only on the stage of project laws, but those creating them are saying that they take into consideration what the US did, but don't intend to do it in such a strict way.
6037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: From financial debt to financial stability- thanks to bitcoin on: October 19, 2019, 05:30:45 PM
I used this topic since I wanted to share my experience before I engaged in bitcoin. In 2013 I lost all of my savings when I joined AMAN Features. AMAN Features is a pyramiding scheme in guise of a trading investment that took billions of pesos around the Philippines. Because of that I was full of debt, after year I got married and at the same time my wife gave birth to my son. My debt has increased again and because of the interest from the debts I can only take home 10$ every 15 days to feed my family. Of course that was not enough and so I again applied for some loan from a different individual so I can provide the needs of my family especially my 1 year old child. In 2015 I was lucky to be hired as a regular employee but because of my debts my salary just went to the loan sharks. At the same year I look for online jobs but I failed but what I encountered was the bitcoin faucets online. I started collecting faucets and I am earning half a dollar per month. My mother, brother including my wife were laughing and they told me that my eyes will just get painful and I will not earn something, it is not worth it they said. Finally in 2016 I did some affiliate marketing and one of the owner of that company noticed my talent and hired me to be a part of their company with my salary in the form of bitcoin. With my salary I started doing trading while doing signature campaign and guess what by the fourth quarter of 2016 I actually paid all of my debt. Right now my journey from being drowned in debt was exchanged to a financially stabled life, my family is now eating good food, I can send my wife to college including my child, I now have a simple house worth 14k$, I bought some appliances clothings.

Without bitcoin my life was a mess, I was full of stress. But bitcoin changed my life and here I am now a financially stable individual. Though I am not a millionaire but I am no longer in poverty.

Whats your bitcoin life changing story?
This is a very inspiring story. It's true that Bitcoin opened up new job opportunities for people. I also benefited from it a while ago. I was young when I got married. We were both university students, so we had small monthly scholarships (a total of around $70) and no jobs. We started translating stuff, which gave us another $30 per month (we could not work much, because we were concentrating on studying) and then came Bitcointalk that allowed us to have another $30 per month or something at the beginning. Then after a while, there was a time when the signature campaign was our main source of income even, allowing us to rent a flat and buy some food. These times have passed, we are currently rather stable financially, and even though a signature campaign is still offering significant financial support, I am now doing more because I like it than because I need money.
6038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins accumulated by institutional investors on: October 18, 2019, 03:23:43 PM
I agree with o_e_l_e_o about the chart. It does look more like diversification than accumulation. In the case of accumulation we'd probably see the decrease in the number of less wealthy addresses and a small increase in the number of rich addresses. Adding quite a lot of rich addresses so fast indeed suggests that it's an operation of diversification performed by one or perhaps up to 3 companies (or 3 structural components on the company) methodically at specific dates. This should be indicated by a tiny decrease in the number of super-rich addresses during those days, but I don't know how to check such a thing.
6039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin May Extinct on: October 18, 2019, 03:07:00 PM
The hacking problem was already solved and right now that hacking incident can no longer occur.
How can you be se sure that the hacking incident will no longer appear and occur anytime now or in the future?
Bitcoin and blockchain system is yes secured but still quite vulnerable to hacking. Hackers can always find a hole to penetrate and milk the system we can't assure that bitcoins security is on top level.
It's terrifying from the past, and it's true that that could be the end of Bitcoin's popularity and functionality. However, technically Bitcoin would not have died, it would have still existed. It seems logical that it's way easier to hurt a young vulnerable code than the old and tested one. Moreover, back then there was Satoshi and maybe a couple of other people trying to help, whereas today the community is huge, and an active dev team is doing a lot to ensure safety. Sometimes bugs happen, even those pretty similar to the one that happened in 2010, although of a smaller scope (https://www.coindesk.com/the-latest-bitcoin-bug-was-so-bad-developers-kept-its-full-details-a-secret). We cannot know for sure, but it seems that we are in safe hands.
6040  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Tron (TRX) has landed at Sportsbet.io! - Million Tron on Offer! on: October 17, 2019, 06:10:22 PM
This is great! I won some TRX a long time ago and still have it somewhere. It's sad that some pretty attractive and ambitious projects have not reached much success yet, and Bitcoin is getting stronger and stronger, which weakens the hope that they will have their time to flourish. But TRX is still not a bad coin to use!
Indirectly we can say sportsbet helping expand of crypto-currency community.
I would take it 1 step further and say they are Directly helping expand the crypto currency community.
I agree on this one with you. Sportsbet not only partnered with the Tron Foundation, helping to boost its popularity, but it also promotes Bitcoin in the partnership with Watford FC. The team members have t-shirts not only with Sportsbet's logo but Bitcoin's logo as well. Go Sportbet!
