I've a watched this a few days ago, fellow BitcoinTalker Max Keiser is one of the speakers, didn't recognized anybody else, I think...
6042  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Giving your personal information to services on: September 19, 2013, 03:23:04 PM
It depends, I would normally never give my personal information out to a company that didn't need it, if it's something legitimate like a bank where they're going to be managing your money long term then that's more understandable but these days I'm convinced that the only reason they want your information is to either sell it on the black market or keep it as a record so they'll be useful to government agencies. Many of the services I've used and seen could easily solve their record keeping problems by using a simple account ID generator and then just operate based on that, a lot of this information gathering is being done because of our governments being completely paranoid.

The reason I believe this is because me and my family have gotten so many mysterious phone calls ( some of them pretty damn creepy and stalkerish ) where they actually address you by second name despite never having contacted you before or worse yet some cunt in your earlier life somehow managed to get the information from an irresponsible school that doesn't respect your privacy and so on. I think like with self-defense the only people who are against anonymity have never experienced the need for it.

Anonymity and privacy are different things, I believe and hope, these companies that require some of my personal information will kept it private, and there are a few laws protecting privacy in EU, facebook got into a little trouble because of that.

The Dutch inventor hasn't even requested patent on this idea. He said that yesterday on the Dutch television. He doesn't want to make a huge profit with it, he just wants to get rid of the huge electronical waste in the world.

We need more people like this. ^

where are you getting your numbers? it seems to me that ~670,000 on BF is ~2000 btc alone

Entirely correct:

~670,000 on BF
500,000 for XBOND (which will go to BF)
~230,000 on BTC-TC
~8,000 on Havelock
-------------------
1,408,000

=4224 BTC

9,500 BTC needed by November

~44% funded.

This looks great!

You mean, The Illuminati Meeting?  Cheesy

It''s an awkward time for US citizens.  On one hand, people mock conspiracy theories in the face of government denial.  On the other hand, nobody believes what the government says anymore.

Yap, I have done a lot of that, and still do, some people are simply to gullible, but I have to say, Bradley Manning, Julian Assange and specially Edward Snowden fuck all this shit up, I've made my tin-foil hate, ready for the Annunaki control our brain revelation, hehe.

I'm not from the US, I follow as closely as I can their politics, because, you know, they are "The World Police".
6046  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should weed be legalized? POLL on: September 19, 2013, 02:46:15 PM

If weed is going to be like cigarattes and big corporations going to make big bucks while it will be still legal to make money out of weed and corporates will charge insane profits from us , no! But if the current weed circulation going to be legal , thats great.

I can make a parallel with wine production in my country, many people had/still have vineyards in their backyard, it's kind of a tradition here, it's just a plant, you can grow it, collect the grapes and make some wine, if you are going to sell it on the open market you pay the proper taxes for doing that, if you have a big vineyard exploration you need to go through the proper channels, get the permits and so on.

With weed it should be the exact same thing, big corporations are going to emerge, sure, there are also big wine corporations, but that does not invalidate someone from producing their own wine at home.

And I know a few people in my country that cultivate their own tobacco, not as good as Marlboro, but much less expensive, mainly because they sell on the "black market", no taxes are payed.

And it's much easier to cultivate good weed than tobacco or good wine, or even bad wine. Smiley

Everyone who has done some online gambling knows the drill, an ID document with photo and a recent utility bill, lots of people know my name and where I live, it's not like that information is some kind of secret...

Also, the real test will be what happens when slush gets it's next block confirmed.  If they'd been hashing for a while and just happened to have their threshold at 3btc, the might not get anything.  On the other hand, if they actually get another 3.2btc it would mean they have about 8Th/s, not 2, or even 4.

Where's that big countdown? I've seen it around.

Don't read too much into my (lack of) comment.  I expressed my concerns about it fairly clearly in the thread - you can judge for yourself the extent to which those were addressed.

You realize he's a brit right? Cheesy

...ask a hockey question at least. lol

Right - and if you ask a question about something involving "world" in the name be aware that outside the US it tends to imply that more than one country participate in it.

And football is football!

What they play with that egg thing across the pond it's american football, hehe!

Rant on NEOBEE!

Going to have to decline on that as ranting about them could cost me money.  Ask for the rant in a week's time and I'll deliver.

That's all I needed to hear.

May I know what do the first 3 transactions mean? There's a 0.0062166 and two 0.001 BTC went to the LC mining address. Thanks.

Those might actually be attempts to manipulate share price, very poorly attempts..

If there's anyone I haven't offended please feel free to post (detailing why you aren't offended) and I'll make a genuine effort to offend you.  Wouldn't want anyone feeling left out.

Not offended, but do you also have a rant about ICE.Drill?

What's to rant about with ICE.Drill?  They're buying hashing power and selling it on to 'investors' with only a 30-40% fee which is favourable compared to what other companies want you to pay for you to get ownership of a portion of losses.  And as DeadTerra is administrating it you likely get the benefit of not actually getting your losses delivered until a few weeks after you PM asking for them.  Can't see anything to rant about there.

Disclaimer : I've flipped ICE.drill shares for a profit a few times and am currently stuck with some I tried to flip but got the timing wrong and missed the boat on.  if anyone's feeling charitable and wants to overpay for them feel free to PM me.  You may make a profit (if I sell them cheap enough) but it won't justify tieing the cash up.  You can, however, feel proud that you supported a legitimate large-scale mining endeavour where the issuers aren't obviously taking anything up front - which may be worth something to you (it isn't to me).

In vino veritas!

Appreciate your input on this.

So let me get this right. Someone mined 3 BTC and sent it to the Labcoin wallet to cause a price spike?

Which I bought into.

How dumb am I? What kind a person does this?

Well, someone with some serious hashing power...

3 BTC / 10,000,000 shares is .0000003/share.  We are the new wealthy elite, ladies and gentlemen.

I'm buying the ticket to Bora Bora, retirement here I go!
6058  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Best Kept Secrets of The Dollar on: September 19, 2013, 12:56:33 AM
And what are the secrets? Smiley

This is one of those red pill type videos, I don't really like this kind of videos, the hypnotic music + graphics combo, the barely expanded subjects, and because this one is very short, too much information stays out, and for someone who knows nothing about this issues watching this will end up a theory conspiracy believer...

But as far as I know, I haven't heard any lie...
