6041  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin has power nowadays ? on: December 06, 2016, 02:02:08 PM
People are beginning to realized the unique qualities of bitcoin. More importantly,
they are seeing that there is a community of people that believe in Bitcoin and are using and investing in it.
Bitcoin has become the new power in the world as we all know that all sides deal with it so it has to survive until
it  become the powerful source of life.

Bitcoin has its power nowadays because most of the people here uses it as a source of financial needs for this is one way of their making
money for their need and continuously being powerful for there are many way to make bitcoin profitable which most of the people totally need,
to make our money bigger than it is.
6042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In what gambling games are you good at? on: December 06, 2016, 02:56:22 AM
Poker is my best game, but it is not I’m really good at it, but the fact you cannot get better at playing dice since it does not matter what you do.
Wow it is good, do you have method play gambling poker? For wins,  is it depend on the lucky or skills in playing cards? Will more great and complete info, if you share about it and your experience when played gambling poker. Thank you.
The poker game fully depends on your skills, if you are a pro in this game, you can make a huge profit. There are some gamblers they will only play Poker game because they want to be thorough in this game. This is the most profitable game in Gambling. Apart for this sports betting is the another method. This is my fav method in gambling.
I will only recommend sports gambling where your experience and knowledge can help you in winning, as I have good experience in cricket I know all most every player of cricket their weak and strong points therefore I can really make money in sports gambling.

The truth is I am not good at gambling. In fact I suck at gambling. But I like to gamble when I get some money from unexpected sources of income. It would be great if skills and knowledge can help you win gambling although I feel it is sheer luck that makes you a winner in gambling.

Poker and Sports betting are the best gambling games out there to do in my opinion. I love roulette too. Knowledge and skills can favor you greatly when it comes to sports betting and poker. But there is no guarantees of winning any gambles. It just gives a more probability to win.

About the coders, I think we will have to wait and see if they can pull it off. I understand that the team is trying to get the best minds out there for this project and hence they have allocated a whopping 23% of ICO funds as salary.
6044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you want to become Rich you need to Put Higher bets on: December 06, 2016, 02:45:01 AM
I did a test today.
I placed two smaller bets and two larger bets.
Guess which ones I won.
The two larger bets lost and the two smaller bets won.

Why the heck does this always happen? Huh

This is very much possible in any provably fair game and nothing is wrong. This was just your plain luck that went out dry at the wrong time and you ended up losing the money.

In general betting huge does not always guarantee you loads of profits, on the other hand it is the killer that will make you go broke.

I don't agree with the idea of placing big bets and believing that they have a higher chance to win than placing smaller bets. IMO both have equal chances and it is all about the luck and timings of your bet.
6045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Synereo - Earn Money Using Social Media on: December 06, 2016, 02:20:27 AM
Its been months and months and months and still no social media. Just lots of promise. This is like a year old thread. If they haven't done it by now they never will. Very disappointing since I liked the idea so much and it made a lot of sense. I guess it will still be a long time till steemit have some decent competition.

Social media platform would be great and then implement Smart contract on it. Working on both together is kind of weird especially when things move at a snail's pace.
6046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: How profitable it is to setup your own mining pool? on: December 06, 2016, 02:17:55 AM

If you are hosting it at your home on a PI, it should only cost you time and a little bit of electricity.  Smiley

Thanks for your reply. I'm very tempted to run my very own mining pool with a Raspberry Pi, as I want to generate some profit out of it by the pool fees. If I manage to make it a competitive mining pool, then I'm pretty sure that I can make the most out of it. I just wanted to know if it was just worth doing it, depending on the profits generated. The good thing I have, it is free electricity since I live with my parents. So, this would maximize my chances for profiting with it.

Anyways, if you happen to know what results (in terms of profit) would be expected with making your own mining pool, please let me know.  Smiley

I encourage you to give it a try but don't expect it to make any serious profit for you. It will be a good experience for you as you already have the hardware which you are planning to test and you don't need to pay for electricity. I haven't had any experience in running a pool but I heard that it is not easy to do and profit is not much.
6047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [vSLICE] Token Sale is LIVE NOW (Already more than $2M+ contributed) on: December 06, 2016, 02:12:10 AM
Is it true its not even provably fair and then your not coders?

We are one of the few live, working gambling Dapps built as an Ethereum Smart Contract.

How could we launch and run a live working Dapp if we are not coders ? It makes no sense.

Don't listen to just one person in some random post.
Go to google and look for other Ethereum gambling Smart Contracts.

We are one of the only working, live Ethereum Dapps.

In regards to other comments about the code being buggy, I suggest you read this medium post:
https://medium.com/@vdiceio/vdice-post-ico-plan-83b48eb914dd#.ilrm29z9t

We are preparing to deploy the new game contract code.
It is based on our new proofs for bet verification. We will have the new contracts deployed early next week.

The code has been ready for some time.
We have just been waiting for the Ethereum network and Gas limits to normalize, after recent events.

Most in the Ethereum space would know that, due to the spam attacks that started on the network a few months ago, we were unable to deploy this code.

That is because it requires 3m gas to deploy on the network.
And the gas limit was set artificially lower than that for the longest time, to mitigate the spam attacks.

Anyway, as of this week current GAS limits on the network have normalized over 3m.
The network and miners are responding well to the recent hardforks.

So we’ve scheduled a bunch of upgrades and new code deployment early next week.

And we look forward to everyone trying out the updated betting contracts.
It is a much faster and more reliable betting experience.

This has been explained many times.

Basically, we have one troll spreading lies and misinformation.
We suspect he works for a competitor, but we cannot be certain.

Also, he has already been chased out of other forums like r/ethereum.

Everyone else loves our product. Especially Ethereum people.
How do you think we attracted so many investors and so much money?

So who is doing your coding, is it you? What languages do you speak, when can we see the code to make sure its truly provable fair. Should we expect that shortly?

I do the social media. There are our coders, working most closely with Oraclize and the Peter Vessenes' team.

The code is public, as is all our documentation. It has been since the beginning.
Just go to the crowdsale site, you will see everything there.

This is Ethereum / Public blockchain ecosystem. Everything is always open-source, unless you're Coinbase  Wink

Also, this thread is for the vSlice token. For all other matter please refer to this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1633105.new#new

We'd appreciate anything not related to the vSlice token be left in that thread.

How do we know that your coders are capable of pulling this off?

Thank you vDice for explaining it again, I was wondering about the samething. I hope you guys make it up to all the expectations. I wonder if the ethereum falling price is going to affect this project in any way.

6048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Synereo - Earn Money Using Social Media on: December 06, 2016, 02:10:39 AM
My issue with Synereo is that they want to be everything which is not possible, before it was discentalised social platform now Smart contract platform. The current infighting among their developers is another issue to deal with. They need to start walking the talk

Synereo is very ambitious project and the fight within the dev team was a shocker to all investors and people who followed Synereo closely. I think they need to either develop a social media platform or a smart contract platform. One at a time and build from there.
6049  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to sell stuffs online and earn Bitcoin? on: December 05, 2016, 05:45:14 PM
It will take years before the general public will start seeing bitcoins as
money which can be used for daily transactions mainly because it does not have a fixed price/value.

I totally agree with you mate, but with your statement of it does not have fixed price or value, I guess even fiat currencies
does not have fixed value. And this will make a big or huge change to the economy if crypto currencies will be used globally especially the
market on selling things with people.
6050  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: December 05, 2016, 05:37:01 PM
[Edited to make it more understandable question]
What if all nation use only a one currency or one global currency?, What will happen to our world?,
What is the effect of every nation's or every country economy?, It can make people's unite each other?Any opinion. Cheesy

Using 1 currency would unite the world but the drawbacks could be we still have
people at the top holding all the power.  We would have no way to compete with the powers at the top this way it seems.
I think its better we have multiple cryptos but maybe BTC at 70% dominance.

Maybe this is a good idea, where there is only one on top who will make things equal though we are in different country.
This will not be a big deal if everyone will be united with things under bitcoin as long as it is decentralized management.
6051  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What type of products you would like to buy with Bitcoins? on: December 05, 2016, 05:30:02 PM
So far I have not bought anything online with bitcoin but If there will be a
cloth store that accepts Bitcoin payment than I would like to buy cloths from that store,
but this store should be in my country or if it is in other country than delivery should be fast.

I guess there is now a store offering or selling cloth and in bitcoin payment. The bitcoin store I guess, they are here also in the forum making and advertising their product.
But for me if I am going to spend bitcoin here I guess, not product but service is what I need. Like making designs and I will pay for them afterwards.
6052  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Dark marketplaces? on: December 05, 2016, 05:22:51 PM
Lots of the markets on there are scams. I have lost around $500-$600 being scammed of BTC on my old wallet.
But, if you want to make lots of sales the Deep Web is the place to go. Good Luck!

That's why I don't want to visit dark market places and deep web anymore.
I know the risk for having some deals there and it is not guaranteed that the person you are dealing with there is a
legit person and sincere to have a nice deal with you. I guess you don't need to go to deep web if you want to make a lot of sales,
you can just sell them anyway with social medias.

Social media is one of the best selling ways you can have to deal with and like this forum here.
In dark web you gonna risk too much as like above mentioned that he lost almost $600 because of scammed, you do not know if it is really legit
or not. Making and earning money from dark web will make you money at risk totally.
6053  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How do you know when a site tries to scam you? on: December 05, 2016, 05:20:55 PM
I am writing about the sites where you have to make a deposit before buy and the site offers to act as a MM in deals.

How could I know when they are trying to scam me? In general, how do I know if a MM site is trusted?
Search on  the web about the site you are joining, ask those who are already on that site for feedbacks.
if you perform this two im pretty sure you will not get scammed by any hyip ,ponzi site.

Yes, the most effective way to know if that is a scam is always search on the web the background of that site you going to join.
I guess it must be a must if you really joining into something new, know their backgrounds, the feedbacks so you will be noticed.
6054  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Do you know other big forums where can i sell digital goods ? on: December 05, 2016, 05:18:59 PM
actuallt Facebook/twitter/pinterest/etc is the best way for sell goods.
many of peoples use them for sell their goods.i have read your post, you said that you
dont like Facebook/twitter etc social media.what kind of forums do you wnt ?

yes it is,,facebook is the best  place to sell goods..

Better use the said social media so it would help you to sell the item you are intended to sell. Facebook and twitter is one of the most hottest site where you can access to many people around the world.
But then you can also try this forum in GOODs SECTION it might help you so.
6055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gradma knows about bitcoin. on: December 05, 2016, 05:07:44 PM
So how old is the "older generation"? I'm 74, and I've just hit middle age, when do I join this older generation? Smiley
My father is over 80 and I've given up on trying to teach him how to operate Windows. Bitcoin is completely beyond his cognitive abilities.
Glad to see there are mentally young old timers with us, keep it up mate!

maybe its the ages is over than 70 years, we need to teach with slowly as they can't understand if we teach with fast, i think their action become to slow to get the information that come to them but its not for all old people, sometimes the old people can understand with fast too. but its good for grandma that she can understand about bitcoin.

Old people are least interested in bitcoins and other emerging technologies. They do not have much interest in the upcoming technologies and also they do not have the mindset to absorb such innovations.
They are happy to stick with their old ideas and that perhaps best for them.
6056  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how can i secure tx? on: December 04, 2016, 06:31:08 PM
There is no other way but to use escrow to ensure that your goods will be delivered to you. Since you are just a newbie, they will be wary making transactions to you. So other party will probably require an escrow anyway.

Very risky indeed unless he knows the person personally.Escrow is the best option here, since you are dealing with totally anonymous person.Don't be another victim of scam, be wary and cautious every time you made transaction.

Many people are making tricky ways to get money without working it like dealing with people and run away afterwards.
Unless you use PAYPAL where you can get back your money if you tell them that you did not get the service or item you need to have.
6057  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: December 04, 2016, 06:25:35 PM
Fiat will never be worthless, even when bitcoin price reaches $10k still fiat will be used, because of the transaction time of bitcoin network, it will never be used for day to day life.

I have similar opinion. I feel bitcoin will remain as an asset, investment or trading commodity and it will not replace fiat currencies even if bitcoin reaches 10,000$ mark value. More people will get into bitcoin bandwagon if it appreciates to 10,000$ levels and it will be good for all the bitcoin early adopters. And yes, reaching 10,000$ is possible in future.
6058  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much did you spent in the internet using bitcoin? on: December 04, 2016, 06:21:59 PM
I tend to hold bitcoin rather than spending them mostly but if i need something online i try to find services which accept bitcoin directly or if they don't accept bitcoin payments i load bitcoin on debit cards linked to paypal and buy anything i want without problem.

Its risky though to hold bitcoins for a long period of time. If you are not much of a risk taker and don't have time to research, then hold tight your bitcoins. Otherwise try investing and get some profit from them.
6059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you were a developer. What would you do to make money? on: December 04, 2016, 06:15:17 PM
Question:

If you were a developer and you were able to develop anything, what do you think is the easiest way to make money?

Some ideas:
-Altcoin exchange
-Develop a cryptocurrency
-Bitcoin/altcoin marketplace

I am a developer and I need to start making extra money to pay medical expenses so I would appreciate your help.

You can make money by all the three ideas you have stated. But you have to make it stand out from the crowd. The truth is there is enough of altcoins and crypto exchanges. If you have a plan to make a better one with cool features then develop it else go work with an existing project or get a real job!
6060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How resistant is Monero against blockchain analysing? on: December 04, 2016, 06:10:10 PM
Monero promises high resistance against blockchain analysing.

Have you ever met with a tool that could break this resistance?

It does not have to have 100% success rate, I just would like to know how far the attempts could get.

You can more or less work this out for yourself.  Assuming no vulnerabilities in the implementation, and assuming no such things like compromised machines, or compromised internet connection (which have nothing to do with the crypto currency protocol itself), here's the gist:

You have to assume fractional "real world" knowledge about certain transactions.  That is, you can know some stuff, like Joe went to Mary's coffee shop and paid his coffee with transaction X.   Joe withdrew coins from an exchange with transaction Y.  And so on.

The aim of chain analysis is to use this partial information of known transaction/person links, and to complete it using the block chain itself.  Here we assume that we DON'T use other information, like IP addresses, compromised computers and so on.

The problem with transparant chains like bitcoin is that this partial information is propagated, because we can follow transaction to transaction ; as such, we can learn that Joe was also involved in several other transactions, by looking at the combination of his coins and his change addresses.

A solution to this is to use mixers.  In bitcoin, you have to take the initiative with others, in DASH, you have to take the initiative but it is then done by master nodes, and in monero, it is done automatically by selecting random addresses on the chain.

Mixing makes the propagation of the partial information ambiguous, but not totally void.  At each mixing stage, you "dilute" your partial knowledge some more.

Now, the big difference between bitcoin and DASH on one hand, and monero on the other, is that mixing is "far and in between" with the first two (because requiring a voluntary act, and a limited set of participants.  While monero does a kind of "mixing" at EVERY transaction, and selects the participants *randomly*.  (strictly speaking, it isn't mixing ; but concerning the propagation of partial knowledge, the ring signature in monero and a mixer, behaves somewhat similar).

Monero has one further advantage: the ambiguity of which transaction actually happened.  In a mixer, all incoming coins are really spend, and appear in the outgoing channels.  With monero, the incoming coins are not necessarily spend.  They can appear several times, and you don't know WHICH "mixing transaction" actually propagated them.  It looks like multiple spending of the same coin in monero, but only one is "real", though you don't know which one.

All this means that with monero, you need much more "partial knowledge" in order to "complete the trace" than with bitcoin or DASH.  But of course, from a certain amount of partial knowledge, chain analysis becomes moot: if you know already ALMOST everything, then the little it can buy you is not so important.  Chain analysis is interesting when only a little bit of knowledge can learn you a lot.

If I have to know 90% of Joe's transactions before the monero chain tells me the 10% that remains, that's much less interesting than when with 10% of Joe's transactions and the bitcoin block chain, I can find out the remaining 90%.

Very interesting to read and the way you explained it is outstanding. I think you would prefer to you Monero for privacy than using DASH or Bitcoin. Would your prefer Zcash? what do you have to say about Zcash vs Monero? I know it's out of topic but if you could state your views, it would help a lot.
