6041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't follow the hype on: May 01, 2019, 06:35:18 PM
I've been here for years and I can say that following the hype never works for investors, this is simply an advise.

Few examples: Synereo, Savedroid, Electroneum.
Yah, you can that again about the bolded. The coins performed abysmally, way beyond expectations. Now taking about not believing in hypes, I think that isn't entirely correct. Bitcoin got that much publicity it did in 2017 because of hype. A lot of people invested in 2017 without even knowing what Bitcoin was. The hype got their interest.
6042  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: (Beware) on Fake Screenshot Details on: May 01, 2019, 02:41:10 PM
I believe it is for this reason that sites asking subscribers for KYC verification now ask them to take a selfie holding a paper with date and company name written on it. That selfie validates the authenticity of the submitted documents.

Once, I had a glitch after checking my Dogecoin balance on my Freewallet and then had to check my Bitcoin on the same app at once. Surprisingly, the app showed my Doge balance as my Bitcoin balance. I almost had a heart attack because that was really huge. It happened almost two years ago and I started imagining what I could do with all that cash. It was in thousands of Bitcoin. Then I refreshed the app, and sadly it came back to normal. Now, imagine a fraudulent mind having that glitch and what he could've done screenshot and then sold the idea that he had so much Bitcoin in that wallet without even editing it. Till date, I still can't say what really happened that day.
6043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will you teach bitcoin if someone does want to know coming from you? on: May 01, 2019, 02:14:50 PM
I was ask if I could teach what bitcoin or cryptocurrency is all.about. Since, I am.not.knowledgeable in technical.part then I may have some.difficulty on explaining it. All I know is that bitcoin has volatility in terms of.its market price and this is the only thing I can share with the guy.

I just want get ideas from you guys on where to start teaching the guy. Should I start on joining exchange?, creating Wallet?, how to transfer btc?,

Bitcoin is indeed a complicated technology. Is there any chance that this all could be done easily or simplied? Could you suggest that to me. Post your replies and thank.you in advance.

OP, your post is do different from your thread title, "How will you teach bitcoin if someone does want to know coming from you?" It's really misleading and a lot of posters here took the bait from the topic. From your post, it's not as if the person doesn't like learning about Bitcoin as against your topic title.

Well, I will make it look like a class's in Economics to the learner and start by teaching about money - trade by barter, cowries, fiat, and then Internet coin (Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies). Then teach several ways of saving these different money types. This is how I get to introduce wallet types for Bitcoin. All that should induce more interest in the person before we dive into other aspects of cryptocurrency.
6044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are we not pushing online merchant and services harder for Bitcoin adoption? on: May 01, 2019, 11:53:10 AM
I honestly don't think that the reason service doesn't accept it is because of volatility, especially lately, it's so stable.
Even if it were because of the volatility (which seems relaxed now), buyers can be made to make extra payment which is refundable if price doesn't rise above the agreed price for the product or services while on transaction. It's an easy way to tackle volatility.

More so, I don't think organising people to boycott services not accepting Bitcoin will help the mass adoption we crave. It will be counterproductive. We should let businesses accept Bitcoin at their own pace. It's a gradual process.
6045  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM Capelli -FAKE TEAM/STOCK PHOTO on: May 01, 2019, 11:22:43 AM
Good that we have tech guys here who can nail these scumbags through research and all that.

For real if the scammers are that stupid then how stupid are the people who are falling for them...
It's not that easy to find these things out, especially if one isn't  tech suavy. Some people even invest in projects without reading the White paper let alone crosscheck the names of team members. It's for this very reason that I have been against investing in ICOs a long time now.
6046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram forced invite on: May 01, 2019, 10:57:49 AM
Invitation without prior notice and done by bots? A BIG NO NO. To avoid those invitations to happen again, do this.

1st : Open your telegram account, go to settings
2nd : Go to Privacy and Security
3rd : Under Privacy, go to Groups then select "My Contacts" as Who can invite you to groups and channels
4th : Don't add any contacts. Just join your desired channel if you wish by getting their TG Profile link then Save.

Those invitations might be a part of bounty campaign or artificial growth of community to attract investors for selfish reasons. Leave those groups and report spam if you wish.
In addition to all you mentioned, report such group invite to telegram as spam. You can see the report button on the top right hand once the invite opens up. This forceful invite only spells trouble and doom. I nearly fell victim in 2018 to something I view as scam now - the group needed me to send my telegram registration code to redeem a certain amount of coins. I was on the process to sending it until something told me not to. I am sure my telegram handle would've been hijacked if I had sent it.
6047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's value after being more recognized and accepted globally. on: May 01, 2019, 02:00:37 AM
Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency in general are slowly been accepted and recognized by some financial institutions in some countries in the last few years. And there are well-known personalities that promotes the use of cryptocurrency around the globe.

But the questions is how come its value decreases after it has reached the highest in the last quarter of 2017. Was it being more accepted affected its value? What are your thoughts?
This question gets asked more often than not. Well, the simple reason for that sharp drop as we observed in 2018 was the outplay of the market dynamics between the forces of demand and supply. You can't force a product on a people when they feel they have had enough  hodling and would want to sell to cash in on profit. It's not because Bitcoin became valueless as you alluded.
6048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Doesn’t Create Wealth Inequality on: April 30, 2019, 03:54:40 PM
Every useful things in this world that've pioneered in any specific fields are meant to be worthy and Bitcoin is one of it.
Not even Satoshi knew Bitcoin was going to be this big from inception let alone those who bought it at launch. It was a fun experiment for them back then. I believe the phenomenal that attracted more interest to Bitcoin as time went by was the blockchain tech it has and a lot of people felt they could leverage on that for other benefits. This has remained truthful till date in accounting and economics. My point is that Bitcoin wasn't worthy or useful from the beginning. Otherwise, the 10,000btc for pizza wouldn't have happened.
6049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2nd gen HTC smartphone powered by Blockchain on: April 30, 2019, 01:20:16 PM
The first blockchain smartphone by HTC was released in late 2018. The company said that the sales had 'met expectations' which I think is a good sign since people would have become aware of blockchain since then.
First launched in late 2018, and many haven't seen or heard about it till now? That shows poor distribution and publicity on the part of HTC, I must confess. And here I was thinking Apple would be the next to go the blockchain path. Well, this is still a cheery news nonetheless  and it should proper more interest in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large. Better days are truly going to be here sooner than we imagine.

BTW, it should also be better if Microsoft, HP, Dell and other computer companies follow this trail immediately.
6050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MEW wallet anomaly? on: April 30, 2019, 11:48:34 AM
Many of the addresses of the wallets, which interacted with the contract (https://etherscan.io/address/0xa315bd2e3227c2ab71f1350644b01757eaff9cb4) have this abnormality! It's been going on for days! Something very strange is happening here!

It's about time you dudes moved away from MEW to wallets like Imtoken, Trust or Coinomi. Despite MEW's stress with keystones and mnemonic passwords and all that, the security of the wallet is still appalling. Download the above listed ERC wallets from Android playstore and enjoy peace of mind while using them.
6051  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I bet it all in bitcoin? on: April 30, 2019, 11:37:51 AM
For me it is good to invest your money from bitcoin because bitcoin for me is the safety way to earn money because it can gain a huge money from other altcoins.
Nothing is that certain in this crypto industry that the opposite can't happen. So, it's always (always) advisable not to risk what one can't afford to lose. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Spread out your investments in different industries - stocks, Forex trading, offline businesses. It mustn't be either Bitcoin or altcoins. I am sure those who invested heavily in cryptocurrency in late 2017 will agree with me on this.
6052  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading bitcoin on: April 30, 2019, 11:26:33 AM
For more than 6 months I think that user is a newbie on trading. A binary option is very risky just like sort of gambling that probably more on guessing or prediction method whether it might wrong or right and you are not sure if there is an ROI will happen. Nevertheless, you can study here about the guide of binary trading if you want just view this link given below.

https://blockonomi.com/what-are-binary-options/
My emphasis is on the sentence I bolded. You mildly put that expression on Binary Options. It's pure gambling (not a sort of it) The risks inherent in it surpasses crypto Forex trading put together at once. Again, OP you may get a help closer home if you gave out your country name. There could be someone skilled here from your country who could get you into a group where such tutorials are held by your country men. For instance, I used to have issues buying and selling Bitcoin with Fiat until I got into a telegram group run by my countrymen.
6053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Altcoin brought your biggest profit? on: April 30, 2019, 05:52:53 AM
Neblio is by far the coin that got me the most ROI

i invested 0.5 BTC, got back around 100 ETH which translate to around 10 BTC (At the time 10 ETH = 1 btc)
That is insane but i didn't sell into BTC, i just hold the ETH so the value drops back but still good profit!
Wow! This is insane profit. But not selling at ATH spoilt the whole show. Mine was buying BNB in 2017 when it was around a dollar but I sold too early at barely above $3 in 2018. Two weeks later a bull run happened to it and it soared to over $30. It's a sell off I always regret whenever I remember it. Such is life, one would say.

Let's talk DM via telegram live:soft@mind
Looks like you opened this account (this is your only post) just to ask for a DM for a question whose answer(s) you could easily put out here for the OP. You could have used your main account for this response. Well OP, hugeblack gave you a good lead and I hope you find what you're looking for.
6055  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Facts} Disadvantage of promoting signature campaigns that encourages spamming. on: April 29, 2019, 04:01:58 PM
Time gap between posts is one of factor can maintain post quality. It's not always right, but it help to reduce spamming speed, and somehow might maintain post quality at a fixed level. When people don't hurry to spam (due to required time gap between posts), they might spend more time to brainstorm before posting.
This is what izanagi narukami does in the campaigns he manages (30mins gap) and I believe it's really helpful in putting post bursting and spamming at bar. This is even better than saying maximum of certain posts count daily because someone could do that daily count within an hour and be done for the day.

I do find it strange how consistently they reject certain sections like off topic and politics and society, and it seems a shame more local boards aren't included, but I guess they know what works for them and what doesn't.
It baffles me too as if those sections don't contribute to the development of this forum. This was why I hailed Darkstar in his decision to pick participants from the local board in his last selection for the Chipmixer campaign.
6056  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is following the same path of 2017 on: April 29, 2019, 01:56:45 PM
I see it from the perspective of Bitcoin favouring "odd years" and I have consistently maintained this disposition since 2018. 2017 was an odd year, 2019 is also one. However, let me quickly add that we may not likely get the same surprising hype and leap the crypto world got in 2017 but we shall get something far better than what we had in 2016 and 2018. This time, shitcoins may not survive but Bitcoin will soar.

If the bitcoin follow the same cycle of 4 years, then bitcoin should follow the below trends and bull run will be in year 2021 December.
2021 is also another  odd year.
6057  Economy / Economics / Re: Can you share Bitcoin percentage in your portfolio? on: April 29, 2019, 01:00:52 PM
I've seen many an alt cultist boasting about having no bitcoin. That's about the stupidest fucking position I could possibly imagine.
You don't need to blame them for not having any regards for Bitcoin after we saw the "almighty Bitcoin" crash like a pack of cards from that collosus height of $20k to $3k. Who wouldn't lose respect if they sold properties to buy at such ATH?

Well, for me I hodl an infinitesimal proportion of Bitcoin when compared to my hodlings in altcoins.
6058  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC Trading on Nasdaq is Coming on: April 29, 2019, 09:59:31 AM
These are some of the little (but mighty) things that can drive the mass adoption the community seeks. It's not about begging a billionaire somewhere to patronize and invest in Bitcoin to make it get acceptance. It's a good thing the stock exchange is taking it up. However, Forex trading platforms have been accepting Bitcoin trading pair for years now.
6059  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Adulthood is a scam, wish I could stay young forever on: April 29, 2019, 06:46:39 AM
I can compare the OP's predicament with what Michael Jackson went through before his demise - His childhood was snatched from him by fame. Little wonder that until his death MJ had sentimental attachment to kids & toys.

We can't bend back the hand of time. We grow up and draw nearer our graves each passing day. And for daddies, it isn't easy facing daily expenses.
6060  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: i have lost o.45 btc in dgtx future coin on: April 28, 2019, 08:25:03 PM
Loss is part of every business. And I think it's even high in the crypto industry. I doubt if there is anyone here who hasn't lost money in crypto from one form of investment or the other. You have had your own sad experience, get over it. What is left now is to guard yourself against such sad experience in this industry.
