6061  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not use BTC-E on: December 03, 2013, 09:55:24 AM
Hi. I just wanted you to know that BTC-E is not secure and you shouldn't use it. I did some exchanges with it and it worked but more recently my account got totally hacked into. I didn't loose any coins but it's just not worth using. My username and password are not easily guessable, my password is around 25 random chars. All the time I get emails from BTCE telling me I successfully logged into my account, like this:

Code:
Successful authorization.
Login: <username>
IP: <myip>
Date and time: 03.12.13 02:17

I've changed my password but it just happens again. I also tried to email them about the security issues but I got the response "what is the response you would like" ?? Very helpful. I also asked them to delete the account but received nothing.

Maybe you have keylogger on your computer?
And they never answers messages write in english.

Where did you get that?

Whats the difference between bips and coinbase?

Coinbase hasn't been "hacked" yet. Smiley

Never pre-order from a company that hasn't shipped anything in the past.
Wait for their second batch or in 90% you'll end up with nothing.
6064  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can it be earning BTC from just ads and faucets on: December 03, 2013, 09:41:06 AM
Get a real job , earn some money , buy BTC.
You'll be spending more than 8 hours a day and end up with less than 1$ worth of btc.
6065  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Here , Am i too late for bitcoin ? on: December 03, 2013, 09:38:27 AM
... I still feel that it's entirely speculators who are driving the price up so high and that once this speculation dies down the price is going to plummet back downn ~100 levels we have been seeing for a while.

Do you really believe a 90% drop in price would let BTC survive?
I believe there is potential for future larger crashes but if you expect Bitcoin to go "to the moon" a drop like that would probably kill it (maybe people would flee to an altcoin?)

Bitcoin dropped from 32 to 2 once , then again from 266 to 50 , nothing killed it and people learned not to panic.
And flee to what? Shitcoin? If bitcoin goes down no alt will survive.
6066  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Here , Am i too late for bitcoin ? on: December 03, 2013, 09:36:12 AM
Maybe you can try to look into alternate coins , Bitcoin is on the peak now

Alternate coins have no value other than speculation. Even litecoin... what the hell can you buy with litecoins?
Putting aside NMC there is no need for any other alt. You can't do anything with them , just speculation , and if bitcoin price goes down so goes their price.
But bitcoin can go up again because of its actual demand , alt coins can rest forever in the garbage.

6067  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitPay black friday numbers suck? on: December 03, 2013, 09:28:43 AM
"During the Bitcoin Black Friday event on November 29, BitPay processed 6,296 bitcoin transactions in a single day, making it the most popular day in the history of bitcoin commerce"
1 second of the visa transactions?

6069  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Great Crash on: December 03, 2013, 09:18:23 AM
You can add safely to the title - "that never happened".
6070  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to think about selling? on: December 03, 2013, 09:15:59 AM
Same here...I have the CAVirtex debit card.

Sell a coin (or less than one) throw the money onto the card....spend at will like a regular debit card.

I also bought a trip for two this winter to somewhere warm for me and my wife...it cost me a weeks mining, meh.

When you get a little more comfortable you tend to spend a bit...there is no sense in not enjoying some of this new found wealth.

So , you're using a debit card , just like a normal visa.
You're not using bitcoins , you're selling them , turning them into usd loading a card and shopping.
6071  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coins not for sale on: December 03, 2013, 09:09:48 AM
Everything has a price. Has been said it before and I will say it also. All my coins are for sale at a price and this also depends of my personal needs on that timeframe.
Also , unless we find a way to take bitcoins in the afterlife , I will eventually sell all of them , or spend them.
6072  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 is the end game on: December 03, 2013, 09:05:34 AM

So , you have been wrong 2 times , now you think that nobody cares you're gonna be wrong another time? =)))
6073  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else losing sleep watching the action? on: December 03, 2013, 09:02:41 AM
Get a price alert if you leave in fear of the price drop!
A true believer doesn't care about the price anyhow.
6074  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin may now level off... on: December 03, 2013, 09:00:18 AM
If 90% of the public down't know you can buy a fraction of a bitcoin I wouldn't be concern.
Currently , assuming the best scenario we have around 1 million users and that it just 1/6000 of the people on this planet.

Also , the switch to millie or minnie or donaldbits may also help. Smiley
6075  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NSA Spied On Porn Habits As Part Of Plan To Discredit 'Radicalizers' on: December 02, 2013, 11:23:33 PM
why dafauq does NSA give a flying fuck of their porn habits? Cheesy
and how exactly does that discredit  them  Huh
most of man watch porn or watched it  Grin

You don't know anything do you?
By most religious zealots , watching porn is Haram (sinful in arab). So , they are sinful by their own laws which they try to impose on others , and by which they try to punish others (include death by stoning).

6077  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: December 02, 2013, 11:13:38 PM
I would have loled at this , If I could stop crying.

Your argument would be served better by a real rebuttal rather than a veiled attempt at condescension.

From my position, I would argue that there is no such thing as a completely stable currency. With a currency like bitcoins that has an upper limit to the amount that can exist, you are going to continually (albeit probably very slowly) lose currency to factors such as lost wallets, hoarding, and the like. Without a small level of inflation you have, invariably, a small amount of deflation which is far more devastating. This is why virtually all national currencies aim for a 1-3% annual inflation rate.

TL;DR: 1% inflation > any amount of deflation.

Also the 1% inflation acts as a form of investment "interest" for the network. I wouldn't be surprised to see bitcoin monopolized by a cartel of ASIC miners once block rewards disappear. Network monopolization is the one thing that threatens to destroy a virtual currency. Nobody can argue against that.

With Peercoins the 1% gain by participating in the proof-of-stake network acts like a GIC, or T-Bill. It is the safest place to store your money and get a guaranteed return.

This part also made me laugh:
Without a small level of inflation you have, invariably, a small amount of deflation which is far more devastating.

Block rewards my go down , .... but you know that it will happen in a few decades , while there is still the transaction fee which is supposed to replace the reward by design.

Also advertising for a copycrapclonecoin doesn't make your post any better.
6078  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trends that will create demand for an Unconditional Basic Income on: December 02, 2013, 11:06:35 PM
Let me know how long this model will last:

"Every single adult member receives a weekly payment from the state, which is enough to live comfortably on.  The only condition is citizenship and/or residency.

You get the basic income whether or not you’re employed, any wages you earn are additional."

When my country will send around 1 million gypsy your way.
There are people in villages near my town who refuse to work for 500 euros because they can get half that amount from social welfare and do nothing. And to be sure they get that they make around 5-8 kids /generation.

It would take a small percent of population to engineer and operate the machinery/robots, that would produce most of the things that society needs. Add to this almost free and clean energy sources and you will understand that "you need to work to survive" mantra will soon fade away.

Or do you suggest that most of the human population needs to die in poverty, while robots do all the job?

Let me tell you this , I am not racist , but living here I have to see the facts clearly...
The gypsy population exploded , more than doubling in the last 15 years. They all  live on social welfare in the best case scenario , the worst is.... (people living in western Europe have found out).
This guaranteed minimum wage has been exploited so much that we end up paying the same amount for those people compared to all retirement funds.
And the balance is going down by the minute.

People have begun to get lazy  , during the heavy rainfall and snow the soldiers tried to unblock the roads and get people out of their houses while the already rescued neighbors stand by with a bottle of alcohol and joke around.

I saw this failing so bad in my country , and you westerners will see it also.
Wait till you get hit by a wave of Romanians and Bulgarians.

Also , China knows what happens when you fight a war alone and think numbers are enough :

Had to search a bit for the image
