6101  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: July 12, 2015, 12:55:26 PM
If it goes to $100-$200, I'll throw in my entire life savings.  but I find it almost impossible

Nothing is impossible though because it happened once. If you recall it correctly, the last crash of January 2015 made the price below $200 and it was around ~$180 / BTC at that time. If it happened once, there is no reason for it to not happen the second time since there isnt any lowest mark for BTC except dirt cheap.

Bitcoin can certainly never go to 0

Unless you can see the future than this is some sort of fairytale I would say. There is never any certainty about the future of BTC yet as even satoshi was unsure about this himself, it will be either alot of transactions by 2020 or that it will be left to dead by 2020.
If you take a close look before 2013 then you will probably see how many people claimed that BTC will have no future etc but yet the pump of 2013 to $1200 made it looks like there is still a glint of hope in BTC. Back in January 2015, the last hard crash made it as it looks like BTC will be having a rough year in 2015 however the price has been clearly increasing ever since weeks ago . This is to prove that no one can see the future of BTC as everything is pretty much unpredictable yet
6102  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: July 12, 2015, 12:17:18 PM
As a counterargument, drug-lords probably carry millions of dollars in cash across borders.

On the contrary there is a lot about security issue to consider when you are moving a big amount of money across the border. No one will be moving big amount of money without any security precautions and that would be alot of work to do however if you are to move your big amount of money in form of BTC, you can do it alone with a single click and you can be sure that it will arrive at the recipient address ( unless you inputted a wrong address )
If you are intended to move $50,000 in form of BTC in your wallet by carrying it across the borders , you can even do it secretly without anyone to know how much that you have and all you need for that is a simple phone to access your wallet and internet connection

All the comments here made somehow seem to assume that these features would be very attractive once the bitcoin is completely the dominant currency with max adoption.

Absolutely no, BTC was created that way along with all the feature to disminish cash , to make FIAT looks like an ancient currency and even without mass adoption BTC will always have the feature .
6103  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: cloudthink.io Scam or Real? on: July 12, 2015, 11:32:26 AM
Till now all allegations are futile and based on threads only

Not sure if you actually read the scam accusation already or not but there are alot of facts presented there on why they are probably a scam company. You should probably read thoroughly

Is this legit? or Scam ?

A simple keyword in google will lead you to alot of evidence here on why they are not legit , try this keyword in google

Code:
cloudthink.io scam

Cloudthink.io is a scam company that is based on selling hashpower / investment packages at the first launch . Ever since day 1 they launched it here, they are caught red handed into stealing photos from another person and removed it right after someone mentioned it( A legit company wouldnt need to do so )  with full details on why you can read here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1074272.0.

Ever since they seem to not be getting any bussiness it seems they switch their business model into selling miners with alot cheaper prices than the regular prices and combined with alot of media boost with their top budget campaign, no wonder alot will fell for this scam.

tl;dr : they are a scam company

Waiting for this follow up as well :

I am trying to get a friend who lives near Manchester to drop in at their "Global Headquarters" and see what's what.
Watch this space.

and assume started with 0.00005 BTC (5000 satoshi) with automatic betting , every 1 second 1 bet

to lose all he got (and here is 52.4288 for example) , with Martingale technique he got 20 chance to win 50% for each
-snip-

There are few things that is off with your "calculations" that you forgot to take into account :

#1 If you actually has ~52BTC you wouldnt want a dust bet of 5000 satoshis. It is much better to play at a higher base bet and not to
use martingale at all. It is proven many times that martingale could be one of the worst strategy however a variances of it could be
used for better chance to win

#2 Roulette has an edge of ~2.7 % for single zero wheel and ~5.4 for the double zero wheel and if you actually want a 2x payout
martingale then dice would be a better option because of its lower house edge or even BlackJack for the 1% <  house edge

#3 The probability to get over 20x loss streak is not actually "rare" is most cases it will happens at 0.00011637 %  chance . Number is
actually close to zero however this happens quite a lot

Dont spread lies

doing it right can make you have a slight advantage over the others.

Take your time to read ( bolded in case you missed that out ). Also you should be aware of this that there are some "strategy" that actually able to "lower" the edge against you. Most people are not aware of this and just gamble it off "blindly" instead of "smartly".
Smart strategy including taking advantages of bonuses, giveaway and also some cashback . Most people are not aware of this and just gamble it blindly and hope the goddess of luck struck them some profit .

As for the "doing it right" words, thats merely not true because most people use bot to start a martingale sequences and there is nothing about "doing it right" because once you start the bot it will be based on your luck and nothing about "doing it right" because you are not manually doing it

Here is an 81 pages about martingale , mostly repeated answer and even read some of your post that you actually despise martingale https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=610339.0

6106  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC on the rise again ! on: July 11, 2015, 09:58:24 PM
How do you know Greece affects the price?

Apparently no one knows about this as this is merely a speculation and hype. Sadly hype and speculation is what affects the price currently. People in greece has their money tied so it is definitely not them that driven the price higher. However there has been alot of news about speculation that Greece could be switching to crypto soon, that could be the reason why most people are speculating on it and purchased more. The chinese stockmarket issue is another fuel for the hype as well

It could have something to do with the huge litecoin dump

Definitely not this as because even without the litecoin dump, the price has almost reached $290 yesterday and keeping litecoin while BTC price is rising is a profit as well because the markets are connected LTC/BTC - LTC/FIAT
6107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: LTCgear.com, the best scrypt/scrypt n/X11 cloud mining service, Not paying!!! on: July 11, 2015, 09:37:56 PM
He isn't "all alone by himself" he has employees

His employee is his own wife . Im pretty sure that he has no employee at all

this sounds sick and absolutly unlogical ...

This is not unlogical anyway because apparently he is just a Chris' fanboy. He got excited about the hardware conversion and thought that he will get 350mhs miner that will make him rich. People seems to be unable to let it go due to their frustation / depression . Not sure if he is trolling though but if you check on a few pages back you can actually see that he is delusioning by saying his account has no fee attached while in fact his account has fee on it

lol with customers like this about scammers like Chris dont even need to try to rip people off. They do it for him.

Chris' fanboy is still on their role apparently, I thought most of them decided to jump off the ship after chris came with alot of nonsense reasoning to stay silent. Even the biggest fanboy (sukarti) decided to switch sides apparently

No prob if I can't offer to share the bonus. Just lookin for affiliates now....... do people even know that by not gambling here they are losing out on this money back programs?  Cray cray

Did you mean that you will be sharing the 15 % with people? If it is so then as far as I know it is fine and not forbidden to do so though because everything that will be paid to you will be your own possesion.
I might have misunderstood the previous post , I thought Ranlo was asking about the potential abuse of referring your ownself ( I posted that in an early morning so yeah, kinda misunderstood sorry  Cheesy )

6109  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DADICE : exposing investors to more risk than their kelly, misleading informatio on: July 11, 2015, 07:57:24 AM
I find it interesting that OP is having problem with DaDice and still wearing their sig campaign?

Is there a reason you have not changed sig's?   Are you on good terms with DaDice now? (did not read the 9 pages to see this)

Leen was previously in the campaign for 1 week and never posted anything back then. She was not very active on the forum either and therefore has kept the signature ever since she enrolled in the campaign. Some of her BTC is still kept by dadice and the fact that she is still wearing the signature does not mean she has solved this issue with them.
6110  Economy / Economics / Re: Too Much Hype Creating Bubbles on: July 11, 2015, 07:54:30 AM
Too much hype over Bitcoin, by the main stream media and by word of mouth, is driving the price up too high too soon.

To be honest this is what most people want and miners / traders are especially excited with this that they can now enjoy the high price. At this rate miners will be profitable again , sadly at the rate below $250 there are some miners that are not profitable so yeah this hype benefit alot of us

I'd rather hold of on the hype, keep the price as low as possible so that we can buy more before the price goes up due to actual popularity.

For the bolded part, if you actually believe that the price will be alot more higher in the future then you should have no doubt about the price and you can always buy more even at this rate. Most hodler believe that the price will be 4-5 figures atleast which is a motivation for them to keep on holding and waiting despite that there are some nice waves to get some profit
Judging from your words, I can totally tell that you missed this wave though because it seems that you are not totally a hodler. At this rate most people that miss the wave will be hoping for the price to get down to "buy more" while in fact this is not correlated because you can always buy at any rate if you truly "believe" in the potential
6111  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: July 11, 2015, 07:35:07 AM
If you are young you should be investing more than you save.

Investing had nothing to do with you age apparently . What matters is your financial management if you are choosing to invest instead of saving it. Without it then you are bound to fail no matter how big your capital or how old/young you are.

no risk savings but ideally with interest if possible but good savings interest rates are hard to find compared to years ago.

As a matter of fact, savings in a bank is actually a loss for yourself because the interest rate will always be lower than the yearly inflation rate. That is a risk because in the end the FIAT that you hold could be "worthless" due to inflation and safe deposits could be an answer for that if you are willing to give away the ability to move your FIAT around , the gain of the interest may not be as big as investing your money however it is much more safer .

As for the bolded part, the interest rate were never always the same IIRC and most of the saving interest rate were always below inflation rate (depending on the country inflation rate though)
6112  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetterBets.io Bitcoin Casino ★VIP★15% Affiliate Bonus PLINKO|DICE|HORSE RACING on: July 11, 2015, 07:12:46 AM
Working on affiliates now I may split the 15% with ppl.

On that note, are we allowed to do this, or is it against ToS?

From what I am reading, Dankbud was actually meant to say that he is working to spread his referall link though ( I could be wrong on this ). As for the "potential abuse" , they are aware of this situation and this is against ToS but too bad it is pretty easy to bypass the system . A simple VPN would be able to let you bypass it anyway.

This is taken from BetterBets ToS

At the very best, someone could get back 0.35 % of every of his wagered amount or around 0.32 % due to the Happy Hour and Luck Forging ( 7 % less from the 0.35 % ) by abusing this and the house is making a sacrifice by keeping the 0.15 % of the wagered amount . However it is highly suggested to everyone not to do it because the referall link is meant to be spread to get more player though and the 0.2 % for the cashback promotions is good enough

6113  Economy / Gambling / Re: Play Pachinko - A Rare Bitcoin Game | 1.05% house edge | Exciting Bonuses | on: July 11, 2015, 07:02:22 AM
to wait for 1 confirmation for double spends and no txn fee. For on chain games this is must.

Unfortunately for an on-chain game this is a bad decision. Waiting for 1 confirmation will be the same as the site that require your funds to be creditted after 1 confirmation on your deposits as well.
On the other hand, this decision seems to be the best considering during this "stress test" there will be a lot of attempt for double spend.

@games.bit : out of interest, will this rules be taken down once the network is free from the "stress test" ?

IIRC theyre swapping out a board every week

Nope, they will display it for atleast a week or month. Perhaps this would be depending one how popular the new board later on and as well as how many profit that they are making (references below)

We may display that board on our website for a week to a month.
6114  Economy / Gambling / Re: LUCKYBALLS.IO | New Multi-Coin Game * Free Bitcoins * Fair * 1% House Edge on: July 11, 2015, 06:43:27 AM
That is called as "keeping the suspense" it would not be fun at all if everything is fast and instant isnt it?

Im not a senior citizen I dont want to watch a magnet go balls slow for suspense.

Makes me feel like im just droning along.

Keeping the suspense is a must thing to do for this kind of game though. This is what makes the game different, by keeping suspense the game is actually showing that it is totally different from an existing game .
If they were to make it fast and instant , then it would be no different than a simple dice site around here which require you a single click just to know the result (zero suspense for dice). On another note, it seems the game is probably dead or the owner has no intention to mass advertise it

this is designed for the player lose time and nothing more...

Gambling sites is not a charity though there are some player that actually win, however most people just lost there so it is pretty much normal. On the other hand, Gambling sites is "equipped" with house edge which makes it harder for the player to win ( doesnt mean that everyone will lose though)

No excitement and it takes to long for bets to be placed and the magnet to go.

That is called as "keeping the suspense" it would not be fun at all if everything is fast and instant isnt it?

so, we can call it cloudthinkexit officially or they are still somehow breathing? Huh Huh Huh

Apparently so, here is the recent post from their so-called $500 USD packages giveaway as well (references below). They could possibly advertise it somewhere else but in bitcointalk this guerilla advertisement is finally over. Sad truth however, it seems few people still sharing / tweeting despite that they hasnt been paid yet ( most people seems love to works for a few penny, promoting scams as well )

I think its pretty much over and didn't also receive July 9 payment Smiley

Thanks for the free money

nothing received for july 8th. must be over

Damn are they. Im not the one who got victim but I see many people got scammed by ponzi comapny. So all ponzi owners even if they tell their real name will not get punished or got jail by their fuc**** doings?

So the scammers will just repeat and repeat and repeat ?

Ponzi is illegal is most countries however most ponzi operators operates these from the shadow which means their identity is unknown. On the other hand, people just cant stop joining this thing which is why everyone who joined ponzi should be responsible solely for their own mistake

P.S : this seems to be not the appropriate boards to post this since you are not making any scam accusations, should be in investor based / service discussion ( I could be wrong on this )
