I thought we had gembitz.

Nah. That character's already in his terrible twos. Before we know he'll have painted his room black, be shouting about not asking to be born and snapchatting his hairless pussy to any old perv before he's even groomed without our knowing it.

We need a clean slate.
6102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 08, 2018, 11:29:14 PM
I thought we had infofront's?

First I've heard of it. He must be holding it back.

In that case we're all going to have to send some sperm to a PO box, purchase a nice third world lady, get her to do the turkey baster thing and we'll raise the child on here. The sperm will be mixed up rather like a firing squad so we're all the father and not.
6103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 08, 2018, 10:53:26 PM
If he does that she might start being very strange afterwards.

We're all here for both of them.

What this thread needs more than anything is its very own baby.
6104  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 08, 2018, 10:48:52 PM
nobody fucking cares , did we ask for your life story

That's no way to address your husband.

Sheesh.
6105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 08, 2018, 10:39:05 PM
I have returned from dinner and the party starts again.
I lack time to follow the pages of WO, very, very, fast

My wife is worried, she says I've been very strange for four days.

(4 / december first time in WO, lol)

Why not open an account for her and talk to each other on here? We can give you marital guidance plus it's a fun memorial for your kids.
6106  Economy / Speculation / Re: the jokes of the crypto world: Bobby Lee Predicts Bitcoin Bottom at $2,500... on: December 08, 2018, 09:48:55 PM
for btc to be worth 333,333$ it means the total market cap for btc is going to be over 6 TRILLION $ . assuming some Alts will make it too even with 60% btc dominance then we are talking about 10 TRILLION DOLLARS.

should that happen which is possible , then the value of USD by then will have the same value of the smallest piece of a toilet paper as of today ( which is going to happen sooner or later anyway ).

Ever heard of market cap? That means there are very few actual dollars involved in creating such figures. It is indeed a very silly amount but it would not require more than a small proportion of actual expenditure to reach those figures. And according to him it's straight back down again afterwards.

Do you have signature dishes?
Or just awesome at everything?
Even soufflés?

Ask for the Panda mousse.

It's sublime.
6108  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC delays decision on ETF again on: December 08, 2018, 07:41:09 PM
I'm starting to believe that they are doing it on purpose to manipulate the price. Maybe someone of a high rank already knows that the decision will be positive and wants to buy more cheap bitcoins?!? I do not think that their bureaucracy is so huge that it would pass this decision forever!

I don't think they give a shit about crypto and probably wish it had never darkened their door. It's taking up large amounts of their time and they at least know it's a total waste. The main man is now overtly stating that it's not going to happen with markets this shitty and every previous decision has made the same point.
6109  Economy / Speculation / Re: How likely do you think it is we see triple digits in 2019? on: December 08, 2018, 06:44:08 PM
I'm glad to see even old timers think there's a good chance. Sentiment is getting mighty gloomy! Double digits seemed obvious back in 2015 too. But they never came, and then bears got massacred. Wink

I'm not gloomy in the slightest but I never, ever expected to get as high as it did. Thusly similarly I'm probably not expecting it to get as low as it possibly might. It don't really matter. Let's get it out the way and forge onwards. I'll be here no matter what.
6110  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 08, 2018, 06:22:59 PM
I used to think bitcoin go big moon but now think it go down to hell.

I look forward to your posts so very much. They make a nice feeling in my pee pee.
6111  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 08, 2018, 04:27:01 PM
Im getting ready baby, just rolling naked in the shit now

Hey, treacle slit.

Let it get a little crusty and then waddle in to the freight elevator and come up and see me.
6112  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 08, 2018, 04:03:37 PM
Heightened sense of smell is the bane of my existence.  Some colognes and perfumes give me an instant headache.  Those so-called air fresheners are just fuckin killer for me - they are not fresh at all.  My wife refrains from wearing perfumes and I love her for that.

Same for me. If someone walks in slathered in artificial smells I have to leave the room. I would genuinely prefer my beloved to stink of manure if they had to stink of anything.
6113  Economy / Speculation / Re: How likely do you think it is we see triple digits in 2019? on: December 08, 2018, 02:27:46 PM
I'm going to give it a 38.7% chance. You can have blow off tops where the price ludicrously overshoots, and indeed we had one. This means you can just as easily have blow off bottoms where it crazily undershoots.

Both prices are talked about, obsessed over and referred to for years afterwards but in reality very little actual money changes hands. They're the tippiest tips.

I'll wait for the end of Q1 next year before thinking the possibility of it has receded.
6114  Economy / Speculation / Re: the jokes of the crypto world: Bobby Lee Predicts Bitcoin Bottom at $2,500... on: December 08, 2018, 02:20:44 PM
It's funny how these orders of magnitudes looks impossible for us to contend with but we're repeatedly handed our asses when Bitcoin goes on to get it.

Yup. Bitcoin is the embodiment of people overestimating the short term and underestimating the long term. It's so prevalent here that I find it desperately tiresome.

You see it everywhere but since numbers are attached to this it's much easier to measure.
6115  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-03] Bitcoin, Blockchain Jobs Openings Are Booming Hitting 18-Month High on: December 08, 2018, 01:12:25 PM
And if such jobs do exist they'll be taken by people fired by the existing 'blockchain' companies who are about to implode. Consensys, the ETH company, are burning $100 million a year and have pretty much nothing to show for it. They're about to cut 13% of their workforce.

I'll guess that most of these jobs involve ways of usurping decentralised chains in which case there probably isn't that bright a future for most of them.
6116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am a loser. My only question now is, how do I tell my wife on: December 08, 2018, 12:16:46 PM
Mutter it out of the side of your mouth mid donkey punch.

That way you get to say it to her and the chances are she doesn't hear it. Win win.

I don't believe any real human being would've done this.
6117  Economy / Speculation / Is Bitmex boning us up the botty? on: December 08, 2018, 11:32:41 AM
Interesting thread here about this - https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/a42ndz/bitmex_btc_settled_futures_is_killing_the_btc/?sort=confidence

I don't know what it is about traders, but they always seem to congregate to the shittiest and most damaging service providers they can find and let them dominate the market. Once upon a time it was the Chinese zero fee casinos, then it was Bitfinex, these days it's Bitmex.

With dwindling real world demand it's gradually gotten to the stage during the course of this year of spot markets basically existing primarily to be fucked with so contracts on Bitmex could be fucked with, hence the insta pump and dumps that have been happening everywhere.

Anyway the poster's theory is this -

'When a contract settles or is sold on a BTC settled futures platform, the winner gets BTC (both short and long winners get BTC). The spot (fiat) market controls the settlement price and cannot be bought up with BTC. It can ONLY be sold down with BTC.

In a normal market there would be competing long traders offsetting the short traders. These long traders would be attempting to manipulate the spot up and therefore profit from their futures contract longs. This cannot happen in a BTC settled futures market without massive outside cash reserves. There is no way for a long trader to make fiat in order to buy the spot market up, they can only make BTC. The manipulation process ONLY works to the downside on BitMEX BTC settled futures. Since BitMEX is far and away the most volume, there is no competition for the short manipulators.'

'Manipulation' is a tired trope and I certainly don't think this fall was anything but inevitable. It was going to happen no matter what.

All the same, what do you think of Bitmex's place in all this? And what would the effects be when it eventually fades away?
6118  Economy / Speculation / Re: CME Bitcoin futures started bear market - Federal Reserve on: December 08, 2018, 11:24:32 AM
Futures or no futures, I still firmly believe that Bitcoin will be priced in 6 digits after the next halving because of simple economics, " more demand, less supply", and technological merit.

Simple economics don't really come into play here. If they did things may look extremely different. Since it's pure speculation is it not the case that pure emotion drives this? Apart from a small number of users there is no economic use in play here and those users are nobodies compared to the traders batting the price around.
6119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Underlying BTC problem on: December 08, 2018, 10:58:25 AM
Volatility is the prime reason most people are here. Obviously many prefer volatility upwards. If there was none most would be gone. Hardly anyone is using it as a currency.

nearly 300k transactions per day---are you sure hardly anyone is using it as a currency? Smiley

I'd say the biggest problem Bitcoin has is balancing decentralisation with functionality. In many cases the more functionality people demand, scaling and low fees, the greater the threat there is to maintaining decentralisation.

as technology improves and latency/bandwidth become provably less of a threat from increased block size, i don't think it'll be that big of an issue. this will eventually happen, just not on the timeline gavin andresen and mike hearn thought.

the question for me is, how difficult will it be to smoothly pull off a hard fork?

You betcha. I'll guess that's primarily money going to and from exchanges. We hardly hear a peep about actual expenditure these days and that's going to be become even rarer when people don't want to spend at all.

I don't think a hard fork will ever happen apart from the ones that deal with pure catastrophes. It's too late now. There are too many vultures circling too keen to throw a spanner in the works. One of the services the Bcashes has done us is to demonstrate what an utter shitshow it is when things are opened up to splintering.
6120  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any way to claim any free crypto ? on: December 08, 2018, 01:30:16 AM
https://forkdrop.io is the site you need to check whether you're eligible to claim Bitcoin forks. You're a little late, most are now worthless and many were always worthless. There might still be small amounts available from some.

I'm not sure there are many similar things for ETH, apart from ETC of course.

That's the first thing I'd check before heading into the utter cesspit of 'free' crypto.
