The rats abandon the ship, while it's going down(even though I don't think that crypto will go down). The Wall Street rats just follow the trend and cashout the profits.I guess they've made a decent amount of profits out of crypto trading,so they are leaving for a while. They won't stay away from crypto forever.

I wouldn't call this a recession. It's just the burst of all the bubbles that were caused by the Federal reserve during the past years.Yes,crypto is one of those bubbles.Interest rates will have to go up.The "easy money" monetary policy will have to stop(but i'm not sure it will).Oil and stocks are going down.Real estate will soon collapse as well. There's nothing to worry about. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

The average politician probably has little or no understanding of cryptocurrencies. Some might understand the basic idea of a blockchain and its decentralized nature but the percentage of lawmakers who know the difference between a private key and a public key, the process of setting up cold storage wallets, or how multi-sig should be implemented securely is almost certainly very, very small.
So if cryptocurrency does become regulated and businesses like exchanges are forced to implement security practices such as having most of their funds in cold storage, then who will decide what regulations should be implemented and how? Surely, it won't be the politician.
Do you think they will attempt to have one of the Core devs on board or invite someone important in the cryptocurrency community like Vitalik, coblee, or Roger Ver (eek!) to write the regulations and then just take their word for it? What will they do if they decide not to participate? Heck, many (if not most) of those who are well-known and respected in the field are distrustful of governments and will probably refuse to participate since it could be seen as betraying the libertarian and anti-authoritarian ethos of the community.
Your thoughts?
Do you think they will put the effort to gain knowledge about cold storage,multi-sig,public keys, etc? They totally don't care about this. The only thing they care about it how to taxate crypto and how to control the crypto markets.I don't think they need some in depth knowledge about crypto in order to regulate the markets.

All this will change, when Gibraltar becomes a part of Spain. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Anyway,it's normal for the small countries to be more crypto-friendly.Look what happened in Malta. Paying for a license in order to operate legally is a good idea that will wash away all the scammy ICOs. I'm not sure that many crypto investors would choose Gibraltar anyway. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

It's not mandatory to buy bitcoin from a cryptocurrency exchange. You could buy bitcoin from a crypto trader at localbitcoins.com. I can't answer your question #4.You just trust a cryptocurrency exchange or you don't.Trust is determined by many factors. Exchanges are a middle man,but sooner or later they have to fade away,so the real p2p transactions between users remain.

I think that the facebook stocks are going down, because funds related to Soros are selling their FB stocks and causing market panic. This is just rumors, but I think it's this has some influence over the facebook stocks. This idea about a fbcoin or a whatsappcoin is complete garbage and probably fake news.No need to comment such fake news.

Most of the predictions are saying 2019 will be the year of recovery. With the way ICOs have fared do you think the price of Bitcoin will rebound? Ripple is one of the coins that may be axed in 2019 if SEC feels confident enough to make that move and that will definitely affect Bitcoin price big time. In any case 12 months is a long time and I think sometime next year things may shape up but it won't be as easy as we assume. https://cryptoinfowatch.com/ripple-currency-news-will-ripple-centralization-wreck-the-cryptocurrency/I don't have any expectations at all.I just want bitcoin to survive an I want 90% of the altcoins to just fade away.I don't care about ripple at all.I think that having no expectations is better than having high hopes about the bitcoin price going to the moon.

Every game that requires bets is considered gambling. Skill games like chess can be exploited very easy. That's why there's no successful skill based gambling game online.

The fear of an upcoming crisis doesn't prove that the crisis will come for sure. I don't believe that a crisis is coming. This is market chaos and panic, but it's not a "great depression" type of market crisis. The market panic is caused by the USA tariff wars. This is the only obvious reason.

Let's all be prepared ,the way I'm seeing things I think bitcoin hasn't find its bottom yet ,I'm guessing around 2500$ before we see better recovery ,always remember cryptocurrency is never for the weak ,be prepared and do what you do best ,things will surely turn around but good things never comes easily .
So you think a 2500 USD price is "the worst"?Are you kidding me?Last week, many people here were predicting a 1500 USD price at the end of the year,I don't even think that a 1500 USD price is something bad. Just don't be so pesimistic.Haters will always hate, fudsters will always FUD.

So you think that kids and teens used their PCs to mine bitcoins 6-7 years ago.I don't believe this. Kids and teenagers usually aren't that "make money" oriented. If they are, they would try to earn more fiat money, not crypto.Bitcoin isn't maturing, because 90% of the btc investors will always be people driven by FOMO and greed.

Unfortunately I can't buy a hardware wallet in my country.I don't have enough fiat money to buy such hardware+pay for shipping and I don't want to spend my bitcoins for a wallet. I get your point here.Having a storage wallet will kinda force you to HODL your coins for the long term and not being a victim of your greed and desire for fast profits.

Leftist liberal propaganda. For a leftist liberal, anyone who isn't a leftist liberal is most likely a neo-nazy,rasist and a retard.First there were islamic terrorists that love bitcoin, how the neo-nazys love bitcoins.I guess that, sooner or later, the church of satan will love bitcoin too. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Just ignore the socialist-liberals...

I believe that this is a final pump before we touch $2,000 levels. Bitmain is buying a bunch of BCH in order to successfully file for IPO, due to their existing poor earnings report. Some kind of manipulation is occurring right now, and I believe it will not sustain. Check out this article I wrote hereBTC BTC BTC1.I though that BCH no longer exists,it's replaced by the two forked coins (BSV and the other one,I forgot it's name). 2.Buying "BCH" or any other altcoin has nothing to do with launching an IPO.Why do you think there's a connection between buying altcons and IRO.Buying a bunch of altcoins won't improve the poor earnings report of Bitmain.

That's just a coincidence. The current bitcoin price is 3,900 USD,but this is just a short term pump because of Christmas. The 2014 crash was caused by MtGox only, the current crash wasn't caused by any big crypto exchange being hacked or being an exit scam.2014 wasn't a "bear period",so it can't be compared with 2018.

I remember all those HYIP scam crypto companies 2 years ago.All they've had was a decent looking website saying "Invest now and get 5% return per week, guaranteed!".All those lies about how they have an awesome trading team/trading bot tha's going to make 5000% return of investments and all the other bullshit. Nobody should fall into this "fixed return investment" trap.

The most interesting part of this video are actually the comments under the video. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) For me,this video doesn't tell anything. It's the popular perception of bitcoin and crypto. It's a very "clickbait" or "advertising" type of video.Good video production, but little to no quality information inside.

What the hell is an ichimoku cloud and why does it matter? In the chart, the "cloud" appears 2 times when the bitcoin price is going up(2012-2013 and 2015-2016). The last appearance is in the current bear market. That doesn't prove anything.

The Canadian government is weird. All the other govenments want more and more personal data from their citizens, the Canadian government wants the opposite.Crypto is pseudo anonymous,so cash is still the best way to buy stuff like marijuana. By the way,is marijuana legal in Canada?

Such a clickbait title. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Nope, the bear market isn't over, the btc price might go up somewhere around Christmas but I'm pretty sure there's going to be a big decline in the first quarter of 2019.Such decline occured at the first 2 months of 2018 and it was due to the new crypto tax year. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)
