6121  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do traders spend crypto when they can? on: January 06, 2020, 04:48:18 PM
I think "traders" are a broad term and that depends on what you mean by traders. The long term ones that have bitcoin for the past few years may not be looking to spend their money as much as people who are mid term that buy bitcoins for like less than a year but not daily, daily ones are probably don't hold bitcoin long enough to even have the chance to spend it.

So, there are many different people who we can call traders which reflects on how they approach to bitcoin in general, I personally think that people who hold bitcoin longer than 3 months but less than 1 year are the biggest spenders, people who hold it less than a week are the least spenders and in the middle are the people who hold it over one year, that is my idea tho and I have no data backing this up so maybe I could be wrong.
6122  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3 strategies for crypto portfolio management on: January 06, 2020, 04:00:16 PM
I guess this is for your portfolio, portfolio is not "all of your money", it is just the money you invest into crypto, you might as well have billions in stocks as well and just couple thousand to crypto and it is still your crypto portfolio.

Nobody mentioned you should put all your money into it or anything, it is only for people who have a portfolio, I also do not believe that DCA is a horrible strategy, it is viable if you know how to use it and use it very well, if you go into a coin all in then you will not have any money left, however if you have 100 bucks, only use 50 bucks to buy 5 different coins 10 each and one of them falls too much you can use another 10 bucks and another 10 bucks multiple times. Now that is horrible if the coin you bought is a horrible coin but doing that with coins like btc, eth, ltc wouldn't be that bad in the end.
6123  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think is a good sustainable % to make from day trading? on: January 06, 2020, 03:06:37 PM
You can't make a % profit every single day, that is not sustainable to begin with, nobody can make a profit every single day. If you make even 0.1% profit per day that is 36.5% per year and that is not sustainable at all. You can make 36.5% a year as a whole however do not expect it to come every single day.

If you look at it more in the monthly way that could be more realistic, still not consistent because each month is different but if you could actually pull of on average 5%-10% monthly that would be superb and would be profitable in the end, that is at least possible, that is the highest realistic number btw, if you consider anything above that becomes unrealistic. However, more average and realistic is about 15%-20% per year, which is quite doable, average, and definitely realistic.
6124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price in January 2020 will touch 10k, What do you think? on: January 06, 2020, 08:16:49 AM
I really hope so, I really do, I mean it is very vital for all of us that bitcoin price goes up not just because we will make some profits but also because we would get a lot of mainstream attention if we could go back to over $10k, even if not as much as the times when we were $20k but at least some more since whenever price makes a big move it makes some sort of noise in economy channels.

Leaving that aside the more people hear about bitcoin the more people will adopt bitcoin to their places and start accepting bitcoin as payment, the more people do that the more we can spend bitcoin somewhere instead of selling it, that means people would buy and not sell and price would go up that way as well. It is just way too important for bitcoin price to be on positive for millions of reasons and not just profiting.
6125  Economy / Speculation / Re: New year and forecasts on: January 06, 2020, 07:34:33 AM
The major events last year were libra+bakkt, people never realized it but those increases were because of the upcoming halving+bakkt moves plus even a bit of libra news, you think that people who get prepared for halving or bakkt only buys it at the exact date of those things?

If anyone of you here think that the second halving happens price will go up, you have no idea how markets work and should sell all your bitcoins and live a fiat life. That is why the real deal is this year will have no events, this years increases or decreases will be for no reason, all events you see in 2020 already considered in the current price already, however thinks "bitcoin price may go up after halving" already bought their coins anyway, so whatever happens now all will be for 2021 and not right now.
6126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High price but no volume on: January 05, 2020, 05:04:11 PM
It's back to square one if you are holding a coin or token for long term and finally altcoin season comes and the token or coin surge in value but has no trading volume on exchange, all your efforts and pain while holding is total waste, do not hold tokens or coins that have no demands, real use cases are what makes them very demanding
That is why I always look at the top 10 coins (except bch and xrp) or any coin that has a utility, if you can use the coin for something then that coin could be bought for reasons other than selling and never would have zero volumes. Utility is the most important of any coin, if you invest into something that has a use-case you know you will at worst use it if you won't make profit from it.

The most known is BNB for example and if you look at it, you can profit from your BNB if you hold a lot of it but you could also use it if it doesn't worth it, just keep using your BNB to pay your trading fee and it would be lesser fee as well so it is profitable, instead of 0.1% or whatever it is now, you spend %50 less with BNB and that is why even if you don't profit from holding it, you profit from using it.
6127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto history making year 2020 started it's journey ! on: January 05, 2020, 04:22:03 PM
A great wishful thinking for the year, I hope for the best as well and I would love to see bitcoin going up this year. Not just in price, I would like to see the number of people joining bitcoin to go up as well, the transaction numbers, the hashrate numbers, I want to see everything regarding bitcoin to go up including the adoption rate but most important I hope that there will be more places that accept bitcoin as a payment as well.

If there are more places that accept bitcoin than there will be more places we can use as well and that would drop the significant importance of making more fiat currency profits with bitcoin but just focus on getting bitcoin and using it instead of making profit with it which is what I want the most. Hopefully 2020 will be that year.
6128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Community calls out Charlie Lee on: January 05, 2020, 03:52:23 PM
Improving the current system has always been the core thing that litecoin always aimed at, that is why many people in bitcoin world see the litecoin as a training ground for improvements that could be made to bitcoin as well after it is done to litecoin. Remember the segwit times?

Litecoin did that first and now they are on path to something greater and bitcoin is just following it. Of course litecoin is smaller than bitcoin in every aspect we can imagine but still if it works well in litecoin then bitcoin core team looks at it as well. Will this be one of those things that are great for litecoin that others will follow or will it be a big bust?

We may never know until it happens but at least I support Charlie's constant need and want to improve and put on top of what they have right now.
6129  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀✨[Rocket.Run] THERE WAS NO SUCH GAME, UNTIL NOW. JOIN THE THRILL. ✨🚀 on: January 04, 2020, 06:20:46 AM
the site's representative is not really active here. If you have a problem, better to contact them through support email.
OP not yet active for a few days, better to send support on their site like what mentioned above.
Not all websites and casinos care about their bitcointalk topics, specially on recent years there has been a lot of crypto acceptance in the gambling community so when you have a gambling section in bitcointalk, there are gambling forums and places that has a crypto space as well, which allows you to publish your casinos there and do marketing there as well which is still a good idea because which one would you prefer to market your casino to; a bitcoin website and find casino niche or casino website and find crypto niche? I guess I can understand why many casinos focus on the gambling related ones.

The problem however would start if they stop caring about their customers who send support mails, if that turns out to be not fruitful then that could be a red flag.
6130  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: January 04, 2020, 12:32:06 AM
Once again another good win from Liverpool, I mean we weren't expecting anything less from Klopp's boys but that makes it 19 wins in 20 games (with just one tie and no loss). I just checked and premier league points record is 100 points that is held by Manchester United (they came way down since that time, SAF is direly missed) and right now there is 18 more games left with potential of 54 points while Liverpool already has 58 points which means if they win all of 18 games they will have 112 points, they could lose 4 games or tie for 6 games and still be same as the record, I feel like they actually have a chance to beat the record this season, maybe opening a long term bet for "will lfc beat 100 points" could be very entertaining as well, I know I would definitely bet them being 101 or more at the end.
6131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: January 03, 2020, 04:40:33 PM
This all-star voting feels soooo weird, the top of the list is Lebron James, there is Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard on the frount court of west, Derrick Rose on the east guards, like almost a 2009 reunion for these guys, never would have imagined most of these names to be still here when it comes to 2020. First of all definitely didn't think Melo was coming back, not to all-star but to the league as a whole, dude was gone and forced to retire and didn't expected to see him play another minute of NBA but now he is voted to all-star (not guaranteed to go in).

Dwight Howard on the other hand was playing and got himself a Lakers contract and that is fine and all but looking at his past 5-6 years I would have said he would have been left out of roster after 10-15 games, he seriously changed his mindset and now a very valuable rotation player.

Derrick Rose had a great 2.5 stretch now and looks like he is good, not what he used to be of course but very good. The only name we all know is great and expected is Lebron but in 2003 if you asked Lebron after 17 years of NBA (not quite 17 but you get it) would he still be voted at the top of all-star he would be shocked as well, that is a llooooong long period of dominating the league.
6132  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com SPORTS BETTING NOW LIVE! 🏀 ⚾ 🏈 🎾 🥊 on: January 03, 2020, 04:05:12 PM
Another crazy bet on the sports-book for 50 BTC ($355,000) on Liverpool to win the 1st half of their game  Shocked

That player just won the bet. He must of known sheffield wasnt going to do anything to liverpool in the first half to place such a wager like this.

I think it could be the largest bet in their sportsbook. But according to one of the moderators on chat there was a 52btc placed but they can not disclose who this player is. Just as this one they want to keep bettors privacy like this unknown to the public. Which is understandable in these times of scammers and con artists all over the place.
Seriously, how do they bet that type of amounts? dude bet on a half time bet and not even the game result and he was still capable of betting 50 bitcoins. Not like I will ever be able to bet 50 bitcoins to any game at all but I would like to be able to know the maximum while I am increasing my bankroll as well.

I checked Spurs versus OKC recently and all I got was 303 ethereum for the maximum allowed bet, from calculation 303 ethereum is far far less than 50 bitcoins, do we have to bet with bitcoins to be able to wager that much? Like ethereum maybe not allowed for big bets? Or is it the fact that soccer is liked more and wagered more versus NBA games? I seriously just want to bet on NBA games and not other games but I would like to know the maximums and why they are so different,
6133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 03, 2020, 03:29:41 PM
Watford is still not a good team, I mean I get that they had 10 out of 12 in the last 12 but at the end of the day they are still one of the bottom teams of the league. I love them because of bitcoin/sportsbet thing and that is why I will always support them even if they go down but lets not act like this was a team that was expected to go to European cups and somehow fell to 11th spot like whats going on with Arsenal, arsenal is underachieving whats expected of them but they are still a decent team even while losing, Watford is not at that level.

However, I agree that Watford wasn't bare bottom of the league neither, they were literally worst team I can remember in few years for a while and now they are playing decent, hopefully they can continue to do well in the future so they can stay around, a bitcoin sponsorship in premier league is huge.
6134  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Tower.bet] - Unique Crypto Gambling Site with Time Limited Events - $600 Event on: January 03, 2020, 02:15:35 PM
Being able to check your own history would be amazing of course but the games are basically multiplayer so everyone is betting on the same game, normally the bet history usually used for checking if the game is legit or not and in this scenario you can check any regular game if they are legit or not and see if yours was as well.

It is still not ideal and everyone would love to have their own but as long as it there is a potential method for going around that I doubt it would matter. Is there still a long way until they are a finished product? Sure why not, all websites can improve but they already came out with many cool features from the start and this is just the beta, if bet history looks to be the only thing missing, I would accept that and play here.
6135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong accused projects on: January 03, 2020, 12:18:15 PM
Normally in legal works there is a saying "innocent until proven guilty" and that is how you approach to criminals, maybe they are not criminals, you have to assume they didn't do anything wrong until there is a proof of them actually committing a crime, now if you don't do that and act like they are criminals even before any proof, the judge could make a wrong decision.

However in crypto world, it works just the opposite, you are considered a scam until you can prove that you are not a scam, the day one of any project is labeled as scam or shady or shitcoin because we had so many of them that statistically it is more possible for a coin to be scam than a successful one, maybe just 1% of them makes money. That is why we will keep on calling all coins scam until it comes out that they are not.
6136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your view on current crypto market? on: January 03, 2020, 11:41:56 AM
It is a complicated relationship between crypto market and crypto investors. At one hand we are the ones that decide what the price is, we have that power, in order for price to go down we have to sell and same when it goes up. However, it also doesn't really matter if we sell or buy because sometimes something major happens and there is a collective movement or a whale does it single handedly and price changes like crazy.

You may think some X token or coin will go up and everything will show that it will go up, the price looks like it is ready to go up, it could be perfect moment and then some whale can dump thousands of it and destroy the market. So, I think it is all complicated, we are both responsible for it but also can't be held responsible for it as well.
6137  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Closing Price On 2019? What do you think this year 2020 will be? on: January 02, 2020, 04:53:34 PM
I assume a small by small increase in bitcoin price this year, I know it will not be as easy as it sounds but last time we went up super high it was really a small increase over the course of months before it took off. So, I think first we will go up to over 9 thousand dollars with couple of increases, like 7.8 to 8.2 to 8.8 to 9.2 to 9.6 to over 10k eventually.

After that it will stay around those levels for a while but thae skyrocket to over 11k first, then do small again like 11.2k 11.5k 11.8k to 12.1 levels. These type of increases that are slow and each day will happen until 15 thousand dollars and we will probably get stuck there, it is a level where it is not all time high but it is quite high and close by, that will stay until bitcoin either does an insane skyrocket to over 20k or fail and go back down to something lower.
6138  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good sign for market on: January 02, 2020, 04:12:31 PM
Exactly where are you getting your data from? Past four years means 2016, we literally had an insane increase in 2017 that peaked in December with all time high price, that was literally just 2 years ago, 2017 December to 2018 December is one year, December 2018 to December 2019 is second year, so we are just 25 months away from the biggest price we have ever seen in bitcoin.

However, even with avoiding that and considering the topic as "since the all time high we have been dropping" that stopped in April so we could potentially say that early 2018 wasn't that bad, I mean it started falling but late 2017 was when it increased so lets take it as a whole bad year, then April is the fourth month, so we literally had only 16 months that was bad in bitcoin and then for the past 8-9 months it has been great so we didn't had the drought people assume we did.
6139  Economy / Economics / Re: Halving is approacing: HOLD YOUR BITCOINS AND NEVER SELL THEM on: January 02, 2020, 02:53:08 PM
I am not entirely sure if people realize that not everyone uses bitcoin the same way that they use it. For example maybe someone is a day trader, it doesn't matter to them if in 6 months bitcoin will be 100%, as long as bitcoin goes up and down inside a day they are willing to buy and sell back and forth all day every day because it is their job and they like doing it that way.

Some people are long term holders and no matter if there is a halving or not they will just hold it anyway. Some people are just trying to live with crypto, they get paid crypto and spend crypto so they went full digital. I mean not every single person has to care about halving, that is something the middle term investors like to do, I personally don't even care when it happens for example.
6140  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we heading towards Recession? on: January 02, 2020, 07:48:18 AM
Recession in global terms is already happening slow by slow and that is why we are not really "feeling" it as we live on a regular day.

Everything is more and more expensive every single year yet our wages are not that high anymore, jobs are sent overseas and some jobs are getting more automated by robots as well so the world is living in a situation where only the jobs that humans can have to do right there on the spot will be left which will be less and less jobs while things are getting more and more expensive to make more profits for the shareholders of a company.

The mean average increase of salaries have been negative compared to 40 years ago (what you could purchase with your salary back then versus now) and unless that is recovered we are just frogs that are boiled slowly and die.
