What about the AS ceramic? I got a bucket of that stuff running around.

I plan on pushing. The radiator will be mounted in a window to blow all the heat out of the house directly without my fans getting rained on.

Every time I've checked in the last 36 hours it was still sold out. Figure they probably won't update stock until Monday?

What still keeps you in the Bitcoin mining game with the increasing difficulty?

Entertainment, mostly. Cheaper more efficient power supplies, trading up hardware, and rigging everything myself instead of paying someone else or using off-the-shelf equipment avoids problems like spending $1500 to power and cool six boards. Having 200A service at the house and $0.09/per KWh helps too. Turning mining profits back in to build hashpower with difficulty has also been working well, instead of throwing a whole lot of money in the pot at the start and hoping to get it back before the hardware is obsolete.

I've been pretty busy this week getting some stuff ironed out, but Saturday I'm going to take time and get back to everyone that's asked about preorders. So far no money has changed hands because I haven't gotten the tracking organization fully set up to make sure everything is accounted for accurately, but that'll all be done soon. Everyone that's emailed or messaged about orders so far should hear back from me by Saturday night.

Some people have big money involved and every second you are "fooling" around with shit it's not hashing making a reward. If the whole idea is to just fool around with hardware and squeeze a hash point higher then everyone else with a custom type setup then mommy is paying for everything or you just have bank.

I was reading through some random part of the forums last November or so and someone said "the only way to make a profit in bitcoin is to sell hardware, or to get hardware for free". To which I responded, hardware for free? Challenge accepted. In the last 9 months I've turned a single AM Blade into 2.6TH, utilities paid, with zero out-of-pocket because I played with the hardware and turned what I learned into ways other folks could benefit. My mother didn't pay for a thing. Just saying, not everyone has lots of money riding on good setups turning quick bucks and not everyone is in the game just to make a fiscal reward. Some of us are just really having fun seeing what's even possible. For example, I'm working on building a custom setup good enough to keep about half a dozen of these Habaneros cool (if I can get my hands on that many, right now I'm hoping for one) for less than about $300 in external equipment. $400 if you include power supplies.

Once the initial preorder period has passed, it'll be 5 to 7 weeks before we start shipping boards, to allow for all the large parts orders to come in and we start production.

I know it sucks, but money doesn't grow on trees and the only way to keep the prices low enough that you guys can actually buy stuff is to order in bulk which takes a large initial sum.

Yep, running errands while deposits confirmed and out of stock when I got back. Grumble grumble... Hopefully there's a batch 3, I was really looking forward to playing with these.

Son of a gun! Finally got the coin together to pick up a pair and they just sold out according to the website.

I don't know what's a forum-proxy issue and what's an initial-host issue, but those images are stored on our server which currently only has a 1Mb upload connection. We're looking to improve that in the near future.

Most of the beta boards shipped out yesterday. We should have gotten them out Tuesday. One of our bonehead engineers (well, me) based the fan header pinout on a fan we were using for testing and it made it all the way to PCB manufacture before anyone caught it (well, I did). So we wired up some adapters to fit on the fan header pins so actual standard 4-wire fans will mate natively. That slowed us down a bit. Thankfully that's the only problem we've identified with the board so far, everything else is working perfectly. r00t$, you'll probably see your box tomorrow or Saturday.

Most of these are still available. I'll split them up and ship 1 within the US for 0.36BTC

What kind of pump flow-rate are people looking at with these?

Why present the project here when you could do it to some VC firms?

Just happened to drop in, not shilling for anyone but I'd rather see directly funded or crowdsourced stuff than venture capital. It's a lot less conceptually soul-sucking to have the actual customer give you money to build them stuff, than some jerkoff with money to burn on pet companies. Just throwing that out there.
6196  Economy / Computer hardware / [SOLD] AntMiner S1, set of 3 for 1BTC shipped within US on: June 04, 2014, 03:29:04 PM
I have some AntMiner S1 for sale. There's nothing at all wrong with them (they're currently comfortably outputting 195GH or more each), I like playing with new hardware and am running out of space. I have six total that I can part with, and I prefer to keep them in lots of 3 to help save on shipping costs. They'll be packed in the original packaging, including staticbag if it came in one. I will sell them individually or in arbitrary units but it'll require some negotiation. I typically ship large packages FedEx Ground but other options can be discussed; Almost all of the US is within 3 days transit time from me.

I also have server power supplies capable of powering two S1 units overclocked, for $55 apiece if anyone's interested. They should also work quite well on Habaneros and other things requiring around 750-800W on 12VDC.
6197  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [PREORDER] DPS-2000BB 2000W Server PSU Interface Board on: June 03, 2014, 11:00:16 PM
We could maybe do a stock kit of 1 PSU, 1 board and 10 18" cables, then a super kit of 1 PSU, 1 board and 10 36" cables for $10 more. And if you want more than 10 cables per board you'd have to buy extra. I'll talk to our PSU guy and see what we can get our hands on, because having the PSU for sale would be pretty nice for customers. I just don't have a price range on those yet; we're mostly concerned about the things that are going to require money now for delivery in the future rather than things we get as soon as we pay for them.

https://peppermining.com/hash-rate-power-consumption-and-clock-speed/

I'd have no qualms about pushing one of these supplies to 800W. I noticed on the Habanero page that the DC input at 925MHz was less than 800W, and I doubt most people will be able to push their boards that high. You'd need a couple amps overhead for pump and fans. If you set on 900MHz and take in the expected 730W, that allows you a good 6A left over for peripheral.

Additionally, because the Habanero has independent rails, you can put 4 PSU to 3 boards if you want, without having to worry about wiring up common bus and current-share, and each one should pull less than 600W.

For the record, I'll probably be buying one or two Habaneros in the near future to play with and plan on using these PSUs. I'll likely run two kits tied and balanced for two boards, so I can use the combined overhead for cooling (my watercooling setup is very likely "overkill", the radiator fan is 1200CFM Cool )

I'll have to check what power supplies we can get our hands on, but we basically are selling preorders on the boards and cables. Full kits, you run into the question of how many cables and what length.
6200  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Server Power Supply Interface Board - for standalone miners and GPU rigs on: June 03, 2014, 06:22:39 PM
Also, we're announcing a sort of preorder to raise funding for our first batch of DPS-2000BB boards if anyone wants to get in on that.
