I really wasn't worried about the earnings so much when I made this post. It was the diff jump that made me think about how luck was effected in hand. While I don't have the time to read bitpop's link tonight, it is much appreciated and will be read tomorrow. It is as said before by eleuthria, but obviously hash rate has to be kept in mind.
Honestly, I expected my daily to be hit much harder. This is only my 3rd (diff change).

Summary is to read the difficulty change as a gauge of how many miners there are, not as a sign you'll be making less, but the effect will be that you are making less, not because of difficulty, but because your hash power is getting % smaller and there is only one block every 10 minutes. What you make before and after a diff change is the same. Nothing changes when difficulty changes, at least for a day. Gradually you were making less the whole time and will continue to do so until you raise your % buy getting more hash power. A diff change may effect you immediately though. Right before a diff change, blocks were taking less than 10 minutes - which triggers a diff increase. So afterwards, you are back to 10 minutes which will lower your earnings. |

What fees?
To get your fiat up there you have to use third party. Costs 5-7%. You take your Bitcoin out and you are charged a fee. You buy bitcoins and they give you a ball park figure not a quote. It always went against me even if BTC prices fell. Blockchain doesn't have an exchange Didn't say it did. I was putting Dollars up there and converting to BTC. The wallet also was leaking tenths of a bitcoins every so often so I moved the BTC off their site to my private client. Never looked back. They never lifted a finger to correct the problems. I had an account partially set up with Coinbase but all these geniuses told me how great Blockchain info and Bitfloor were. Coinbase is flawless compared to them. What are you talking about? How was you putting dollars on to Blockchain.info and how was they leaking coins? I used Zipzap to pay Blockchaininfo. to convertt to BTC. Probably a back door to the wallet somehow. I don't know how the hell it was done and I don't care. All I know is the balance would be lower by a fraction of a bitcoin every so often. I think you forgot about bitinstant |

It made sense, then I was thrown. By technically I assume that is in a perfect world, where luck wouldn't matter to begin with? Or maybe on a time line that extends so far that it isn't really that relevant... I must say I am a bit thrown still... and just as I thought I was understanding.

To ease your mind, I was trolling obviously. Figured it'd be all right in this thread... Phew  . I can imagine some people actually trying this. People don't do that! Also beware of Windows changing meta data and hash changing. Also almost anywhere you upload it online will modify it. |

Someone I know is heavily involved in Ripple, to the point of trying to set up one of those 'gateway' things as a business. He's a smart guy and I don't think he's gullible enough to fall for an obvious scam, but perhaps the Ripple people are clever as well and have some secret to making money beyond their public declaration that they've 'premined' some ripple for the purposes of bringing in a return as a business (I'm pretty sure they had originally posted that on their web-site, didn't they?).
I still have no clue how this crap works but if doesn't give me real bitcoins or cash at the end the day he's going to be in trouble |
