621  Economy / Economics / Re: KYC for penny money? on: April 03, 2019, 02:49:28 PM
Yeah it's free but your identity will be possible to use in any harmful doings.
Let me tell you a secret:
Those scans of your ID are not worth anything. Otherwise people, that work in governmental bodies that issue those IDs would become billionaires. Your ID is also stored in many other services, including your employer, police, governmental funds and many other organizations and no one is giving a fuck about it. If it had any worth then your ID would be already stolen a dozen times.
622  Economy / Economics / Re: what are hurdles for bitcoin based projects/investments on: April 03, 2019, 02:40:28 PM
It doesn't seem to be reasonable to open a new business that would accept only crypto (unless you are opening an exchange and your service is connected to real world) and at the same time crypto wouldn't make a big part of your cash flow if you would accept it along with the other payment methods.
Most of those ICOs that gathered millions are obviously overpriced. From what I see now it is pretty hard to pick a project that would give you a good outcome. Even the ones that look attractive may soon lose their token price.
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not about ''get rich fast'' !! on: April 03, 2019, 02:10:10 PM
Well if you are part of the minority who got lucky, you may consider yourself as someone who got rich in a relatively short amount of time. Investment, in general, is designed to be for long term. As the name suggests, investment is when you let time do its magic by waiting for its value to mature. But bitcoin falls into the same aspect as being a short/long term investment depending on the price difference.

Just want to clarify this thing a little bit more.
Smart and safe investments in real world are usually not bringing more than 10-15% per year. Everything with a higher ROI is always considered as an unsafe investment. So people that are buying crypto in order to get rich fast would probably lose their money. The other part that got lucky would sell it way below the ATH because of lack of experience.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Revival is On The Way - According to a trader on: April 03, 2019, 02:05:13 PM
Price predictions from those traders are far not always true. Traders are getting money on any kinds of price movement. No matter of the price is growing or not. The main problem is to predict the vector of the price movement in short period of time. Even if the price is falling traders will still be able to get their money. It seems like the guys from the OP's post recently placed some buy orders.
625  Other / Off-topic / Re: I want to buy home with bitcoin. on: April 03, 2019, 12:36:22 PM
Another part of the story called "I want to buy something but it cost money".
You better go find a job and find a way to earn money instead of crying how much you want your satoshies to worth billions.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning’s Bitcoin mainnet: the phenomenal growth on: April 03, 2019, 12:33:34 PM
According to Bitcoinist.com and 1ml.com, "Bitcoin off-chain scaling solution the Lightning Network (LN) has reached a record $5 million in capacity as Bitcoin price rises fuel enthusiasm across the board.". You can visit https://bitcoinist.com/bitcoin-lightning-network-reaches-milestone-5m-capacity/ for more information
I am so excited to hear that news. What's about you?

Unfortunately, capacity is not the same as real usage. People still have to decide that they want to spend those 5 mln on microtransactions. No matter how good is the system if no one is using it.
Even if we are talking about future adoption then nothing can guarantee that someone would provide a better quality service (like for example a trusted bitcoin bank).
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can New Animated Series 'Bitcoin and Friends' Make Bitcoin Fun Again? on: April 03, 2019, 12:15:07 PM
This thread's a little unusual if I say so, from the smattering of responses. About half are saying the content is too vulgar and nsfw... You don't really see people complaining about adult themes in services section, meta or even in gambling. I'd expect Game of Thrones to get more but perhaps the visitors to Bitcoin Discussion are a different demographic, eh?

I'm not an artist anyway, but I probably wouldn't find a good audience if I ever had the skill or will to do a cartoon based in my hometown, or with homegrown values haha.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
It is not too vulgar. It is just not interesting.
Generally, Bitcoin may be considered as money. At least that's how its users want to see it. So have you seen any interesting movie or cartoon about a dollar / euro banknote?
There are many interesting stories about people earning, loosing or using money but there is nothing interesting just about money.
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How big is the role of the government in the development of Bitcoin? on: April 03, 2019, 11:43:33 AM
TBH if government is accepting crypto it doesn't make any difference for the crypto community. But different kind of bans may easily create FUD. Many countries are not banning cryptocurrencies and organizations are free to accept it but no one really cares about that and crypto payments are not really popular.
The only thing that matters is a legal infrastructure to the already existing capital, which we can see in Bakkt. The rest doesn't matter.
629  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone now seems excited after bitcoin reaching to almost 5k Usd. on: April 03, 2019, 11:28:51 AM
I was happy to see that bitcoin has made a good market price pump up. This is what investors are looking at and hoping that it will going to continue on having this kind of movement. Mind you that it will just take a few months tp get an ATH once again with bitcoin.

Who among you here feels the same way after seeing the recent good news with bitcoin market price increase?
Ofc people are excited, every Bitcoin holder increased his savings by 1/4 just during a single day. That's  a good reason to be happy. But if something got about 25% growth it doesn't mean that it will keep growing with the same speed and renew ATH. It seems like many people just decided that 4k was a bottom price and decided to get back.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & friends - a cartoon series about bitcoin some restricted content on: April 03, 2019, 11:20:23 AM
The cartoon looks good. The picture reminds me of Mr. Pickles or the other similar hardcore cartoons but with less entertaining content.
That was as much interesting as could be some other random movie about any other currency - not interesting at all. In some movies BTC  might be shown somewhere on the backstage but it won't be interesting to show people a movie about a currency.
631  Economy / Economics / Re: Can secondary Bitcoin markets succeed in a global market? on: April 03, 2019, 06:05:32 AM
I'm sure that something like this is already working on CMC.
They have some rules required for exchanges to get listing on CMC. For example there are some local exchanges in Venezuela and Nigeria where prices are far over the current market prices but they are not available for non residents and their local currencies are fucked up.
CMC also adjust volume that was reported by exchanges.

Exactly, we saw massive differences between prices in different countries and they co-existed without problems. Yes, the highly inflated prices was due to abnormal high demand in local exchanges and this was not available to non-citizens, but it still existed. So we know it can be done.  Wink

The SEC can for instance say that they only allow say Coinbase and Gemini prices, because they adhere to the SEC's strict requirements for price determination. <So you will have to register at these exchanges, to get the benefit of these high or low prices.>

The rest of the world can continue as normal, with their own exchanges and the prices that are being determined by their own volume. <supply & demand>  Roll Eyes
I'm more than sure that that's the way everything gonna work.
SEC would issue its own regulations and all exchanges would have to follow them. If not, then SEC would sue them or if exchange is somewhere in the other country SEC can force banks to stop working with it and freeze its accounts. They have many ways to influence on such services.
632  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC now above $5k, seem like its not just a pump? on: April 03, 2019, 05:59:52 AM
Right now it is at 4.9$k which can be considered as testing of 5k resistance level. If it won't break it then BTC would fix somewhere around 4.5-4.7k
Ofcourse hopefully it will break it and go forward to 6k and further but I don't really see a reason why it is growing right now.

634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Transfer BTC in stable coins on: April 02, 2019, 04:09:30 PM
I would recommend you to give your satoshies to your parents, ask them to create an account on some major exchange, maybe pass KYC and then buy some USDT.
The problem is that according to ToS of all exchanges you have to be 18+ in order to perform such financial operations.  Even if you find some exchange that do not require KYC they can easily block your acc if you have any problems. Also sometimes it happens that exchanges implement KYC and freeze all unverified accounts.
Anyway, try to follow the rules.

Instead of giving it to his parents, he can use his parents ID to create an exchange account. I do not think it is illegal thing to do, I have an account which is verified using my wife's ID.
Or just tried to find an exchange without ID verification. Maybe he can try livecoin.net, there are markets for usdc and tusd but the market is so empty Smiley
Ofc everyone is doing like that but the fact that underage person is trading on exchange is violating the exchange rules, even if his acc is verified with someone else's ID, which also seems to be a violation of the other rules. In case if exchange will uncover that you  are using your wife's account they may block your acc.

636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cryptocurrency banks needed. on: April 02, 2019, 02:39:08 PM
They would have to be insured but the entire point was that it was a system where there was no trust needed. You don't need to trust a bank to keep it safe.
Exactly. Here in this cryptocurrency world, banks are useless as we ourselves has the full control of our funds by just using online or hardware wallets. I don't support cryptocurrency banks they are just some sort of a joke in this industry. We don't need something like cryptocurrency banks as this kind of asset is in a decentralized form which we don't need entities or middleman or whoever that has to take care of our funds.
You can keep your cash in your pocket and you can bring it to bank, fund your card. That would help you to make online purchases and ensure that in case of scam your money would be given back to you. They are not taking your "freedom" but only help you to use your money safer. Currently, bitcoin is lacking the same features.
In general discussion bitcoin is opposing central banks, not commercial ones.
637  Economy / Economics / Re: Hedge funds with public ROI? on: April 02, 2019, 02:28:26 PM
I don't think that any of decent and established hedge funds is offering crypto investments to its clients. Maybe someone if buying some BTC on client's demand but it is only about 1-5% of the portfolio.
Most of the crypto funds that offer 100% crypto portfolio are always untrustworthy and there is a huge risk of being scammed. Wanna invest in shitcoins - buy your own alts and store it on your own wallet.
638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bakkit Update on: April 02, 2019, 02:15:10 PM
This update is not really an update. While following multiple crypto related projects  I've seen many of them saying that they are working hard and soon people will get a result but then they are closing with different reasons. Now I would require some details if someone want me to believe that something is going to be released soon.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP FOLLOWING BITCOIN WITH SENTIMENTS! on: April 02, 2019, 02:06:05 PM
They are rich which means they can buy more coins therfor following what they say is a good idea because if they say that the price will going to pump , they also do something to make it happen  . while other regular individuals that loves to speculate and make predictions are likely going to fail because they cannot back their claims   .  bitcoin is about sentiments so why stop follwing sentiments when sentiments is the main reason about the price change ?

Being rich is meaningless unless you're a market mover on one or more Bitcoin exchanges.

Mike Novogratz is the perfect example of how being rich doesn't yield you anything when you have no clue about how irrational this space really is. He is a perma bull who got rekt hard, personally and professionally. Imagine how many institutions invested just because this fly-by guru told them that this market would explode in 2018.

Tom Lee is also a multi millionaire, yet his predictions were all shit. I'm not sure if he actually invests in Bitcoin, but if he did, he is rekt too.

One thing these so called experts and gurus have in common is that they only speculate and not build to make this space a better and more useful place. Parasites they are. Fuck them. Enjoy your expensive bags.
In most cases  those experts are not that rich and they are just analyzing the markets. This is how it works in traditional markets: on some business TV channel you see an analyst that is talking different shit about the stock market, backing his words with tech analysis and sentiment analysis. You don't have to be a billionaire or a genius to do those things and generaly would be right. But market is unpredictable and you can never be sure that you are right. Actually, every decent investor would tell you to listen to such overviews but always do your own research.
The same thing is happening in crypto but crypto market is less mature and unpredictable investor behaviour can easily screw all your analysis.
640  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Art of quitting !!!! on: April 02, 2019, 01:57:01 PM
In most cases in crypto if you are lucky to buy some coins and you see that it is pumping right now and getting like 3x growth then you better immediately sell your coins. Such situations usually happen after a successful ICO and in most cases price is never getting back to the pumped level. Situations with coins like TRX are not predictable and you should never think that your shitcoin would have a strong and long term growth, just drop it. There is no art here.
