621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin better than Fiat? on: May 08, 2021, 09:52:54 AM
For the first time in history, money is separated from the state. Bitcoin aims to be an alternative to Fiat currencies by providing financial inclusion to anyone, anywhere in the world. A system governed by mathematics and cryptography will put an end to corruption once and for all. The pioneer cryptocurrency can be used globally without limitations thanks to its decentralized model. People can send cross-border payments in minutes without the need for ID verification, background checks, or credit checks of any kind. This brings a whole new era of financial sovereignty as we know it.

What do you think? Is Bitcoin better than Fiat? If not, why? Is it still too early to tell? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Smiley
As an Investment op, yes better than fiat but as a means of payment, not at the moment which for me is the only down side to it. I would love to be able to spend it everywhere and anywhere but for now, most of my regular stores are not there yet so I still spend my fiat. It will be definitely the easiest form of payment when we have a global adoption.
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 6 songs on the subject of digital currencies! Have you heard them? on: May 08, 2021, 09:45:38 AM
Given the pervasiveness of digital currencies in the world and the emergence of bitcoin as the first digital currency in this field, we see that songs about digital currencies have been made based on the growth and introduction of digital currencies, and I was really excited to hear them. Cheesy

List of songs made with the theme of digital currencies:

“Bitcoin pls go to moon”

“Banksters Paradise ”

https://youtu.be/6ZKzapbQPZA

“BLOCKCHAINIAN RHAPSODY”

“Old Town Road (Bitcoin Version)”

“HODL GANG”

“BITCONNECT EDM REMIX”

Grin Grin Grin The HODL GANG song is the only one I have seen before and it made me laugh like some one rapping about cryptocurrencies. I believe this is just the beginning because the more adoption crypto have the more of such kind of songs we might see even against cryptos.
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think about the Old coins? on: May 07, 2021, 01:06:36 PM
I would say that from what I have experienced since I started trading crypto, Old coins apart from the major ones Bitcoin/Ether, most of them have not done well as the new coins at least the ones I traded back in 2017 that got me good profits have not even made half the price of their last ATH. New coins are performing better now definitely because of new ideas in the development.
624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful with DOGECOIN, there's a lot of hype on it. on: May 06, 2021, 10:58:35 AM
As we can see, DOGE still continues to pump and it looks like $1 is now anymore impossible for a coin that we thought is just a joke. Lots of hype of this coin and the general public is riding on it, I understand that it could be popular or will develop, but the way it's moving, worries me and it could result in a massive dump once manipulators will start cashing out.

How about you, how do you feel on what you are seeing now?
No doubt, I believe investors should take caution on DogeCoin investing and try not to be too greedy as in wanting to ride all the way to the top because i am afraid that is when it could spell disaster. I think it is a good investment at the time because people are making profits out of it but i am sure it will also dump hard when the time comes.
625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: April is the real alt season on: May 06, 2021, 10:53:47 AM
I've been waiting for this viola season for almost 4 years too! I'm glad I waited and I was especially pleased with the bnb token! The only pity is that I bought it a little when it cost $ 5, but the X's are crazy!
You bought it when it was about $5 and that a pity? you wanted to buy at way less than that maybe. I bought at around $40+ and considering what BNB price is now $651 as am typing this message, that's a huge gains, I have never made such profit since back in 2017. I believe Alts have been doing well in the past month and I believe it will roll into coming months.
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When Altseason ? on: May 06, 2021, 10:46:38 AM
Has not altcoin season been starting since last year? I can't believe if that cycle was true. An altcoin is still growing when bitcoin is very stable. We didn't see any increase happened with bitcoin since ethereum has been growing so much. TBH it's quite difficult to determine whether we have entered the altcoin or not.

People are arguing altcoin season is happening anytime wben bitcoin stabilizes.
I believe it is safe to say that we shouldn't Waite for a particular time to consider as the Altcoin season because most Alts have really had a good run since even back as January and are still performing well now. Am afraid if we keep waiting for Alt season we might miss the market if we are already in it and less dont forget that the market situation now is different from before.
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Have you given up on airdrop? on: May 06, 2021, 10:42:35 AM
At the moment I see no point in participating in Airdrops, a large number of scammers and low cost tokens = a waste of your time. I participated in many Airdrops, the most expensive was probably KickToken, but it had to be redeemed.
You are right, Most of the Airdrops I participated in back in the days are still stock in my wallets worthless and to be honest, the dollar worth of those airdrops is not worth it even though you might really not do much to get them but they just take space in wallets  Grin
628  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you define rich? on: May 05, 2021, 05:44:47 AM
To humanity the real definition of rich is never ending or endless money, those kind of money that they probably won't be able to manage very well? Yea that's what I'm talking about, humans are filled with greed, unfulfilling desires, 1 million target today 10billion target tomorrow
Indeed, there will be no end because humans will never have enough. The true definition of rich is to feel satisfied with what they already have. Happiness is number one. Money can buy everything, but money cannot be used as a buyer of complete happiness.

wealthy if not accompanied by satisfaction, you will still feel less.
I agree. Richness is subjective so once you can have that sense of satisfaction with what you have, you can consider yourself to be Rich because you are happy in that space and everything seems to work out with what you have because if you look at it from the other angle, even the ones you might refer to as been rich are still looking for more, so richness doesn't have limit IMO
629  Economy / Economics / Re: “You don’t spend money now, you can’t spend after you died” on: May 05, 2021, 05:34:05 AM

It’s the best financial advice, covid is the marketing keyword to remind you, if you don’t spend every last penny in the wallet, you can never have a chance to spend that again. Spend until you drop you plebs!
So do you know that exact date of your death so that you can spend every last penny the day before? and obviously you must have love ones that you dont think because of covid, death will come to them all and you wish not to leave some savings for them? and what happen if you end up spending all your last penny and end up not dying of covid how will you manage the rest part of your life?
I believe this are questions you need answer and besides, the covid era is actually when you need to invest some in Crypto or Bitcoin cos it seem like the only logical investment point now.

631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem is that it could take again many years to recover on: May 04, 2021, 09:30:22 AM
I have no problems seeing a bright future for BTC, but after a major retracement it might again take many years to recover. Look at the last sell off down to $3700. It took almost 4 years to make new ATH.
So should this be the major, expected drop, it could again take many years for BTC to reach 100k.
Many people will be dead before BTC will reach 1 mio.
it is true that the existence of a perfect bitcoin recovery as it is today takes years. for example, 2017 to recover should take 3 years starting at the end of 2020. but this is not a problem, the most important thing is bitcoin still exists and still has a chance to be in crypto for a long time.
I hope that if bitcoin further drops significantly in price, then some potential altcoins this time will still not follow the bitcoin price as strictly as it did in 2018-2020. The cryptocurrency market is changing and this will continue in the future. Therefore, a similar situation is hardly possible. Although, in general, the market falls, and the falls are large and long, there will also be more.
I agree and I think there will always be that circle for the cryptocurrency market and I really dont see that as a major problem because the market system has offered us different options of trading it and if you really are in it for good, i bet you have to give it your best to understand both kind of trading that is, not just spot but futures markets too so you dont worry much about if there will be a long bear market.
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JUST CURIOUS on: May 04, 2021, 09:20:14 AM
I am less interested in influencers promoting a coin or token.  I do not know, I think it is just a pleasure for them, not just take it seriously.  The coins or tokens that are promoted will definitely pump, call it doge, just a tweet can make the doge pump many times over.  even in the absence of progress from real function, it can happen.  unfortunately, this too would quickly descend once the hype was over.
It could be that or it could be that they have been paid to do that kind of promotion however, if I was not already hodling such coins and that with the little I know about crypto market, I wouldn't be jumping to invest in some coins/token because someone talked about it in some social media because like you said, it could easily turn south too.
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB will remain valuable for a long time on: May 03, 2021, 05:25:00 AM
The major reason why Binance coin (BNB) is gaining enough value is because it offers the solutions to the difficulties people face with Ethereum network (speed and gas fees). But with the recent proposal made by ethereum to solve these problems themselves, I don't see why anyone would still choose BNB over ETH.
Before the Ethereum gas fee issue and when many projects have not tested what Binance Smartchain offers, yes. Like in most situation, people will most likely stick with what they already know or work with but with the gas fee issue, project had no choice but to seek out new and more reliable source and BSC was it so going forward, my guess is that, since this has been established, more projects will still want to continue with BSC even if Ethereum fees comes back to normal and it will almost be a 50/50 thing then.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Crypto be more valuable than gold? on: May 03, 2021, 05:17:07 AM
I have thought that one key advantage crypto (bitcoin, litecoin, Dash, monero etc.) has over gold is that its supply level is fixed and transparent, but can this or features make crypto more valuable than gold?
To me in terms of profit generation in the shortest possible time, Yes. Considering the number of years that cryptocurrencies have existed compared to Gold and the Price gained over those years, it is clear that cryptos are more valuable then Gold meaning, if you invest equal amount of money in crypto and Gold, you are most likely to make more profits from cryptocurrency than Gold in the same length of investment years.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: See why most bounty hunters get scammed on: May 02, 2021, 02:16:03 PM
It is difficult to find honest and worthy bounty campaigns. The best that can happen if a trustworthy bounty manager holds the tokens for distribution in custody. That way the hunters can be sure to receive the tokens according to the rules that were valid when they applied for the campaign.
Yes, but there are not many managers who can be trusted either, so the campaign participants also have to filter and select them first because managers are also human beings who sometimes greediness can also arise at certain times. Grin

I exactly know what you mean. You can't even tell if they are part of the scam. I checked many campaigns and the best are those that pay reliably on a weekly basis. It is not so easy to find such campaigns before they are already closed for new participants.
True but some of them are also not consistent and some  times dont seems to know whether they really want to go on with the bounty campaign or not. I noticed a couple that after every week the BM had to call of the bounty until they verify that the next week will continue and after 2 weeks it was stopped. Some times some of those bounties too are limited to higher ranked members due to their limited application.
636  Economy / Speculation / Re: How risky do you feel investing in Bitcoin is in this point of time? on: May 02, 2021, 01:22:41 PM
To be honest, I believe it depends on you time frame for investing. Even though we can never take away risk when it comes to investment let alone in Cryptocurrencies, so there will always be risk but if you are investing on Bitcoin for the long term and not to see if you can still make good profits from this current circle, Id say invest and enjoy the ride.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to still make a good return from Bitcoin? on: May 02, 2021, 01:15:38 PM
Okay so I saw bitcoin early days because a competitor site owner briefly offered it as a payment method for their products. I thought this cryptocurrency will never work because it will either 1). get regulated / shut down, or 2). never be accepted by the general populous.

Neither of these happened and finally I bought a diversified holding of Ł10,000 in 2019 to hedge against future pain. I still have this holding untouched including 1 btc and have no plans to sell it until I am sure it has hit full critical mass or goes to zero.

My question: Should I just forget about bitcoin now and go back to my business?
I believe when you look back to the date you posted this and what the price of bitcoin is today and if you did not actually invested in Bitcoin back then, you would be hating on yourself now. To be honest, Bitcoin is not what should should even consider whether to invest in or not because since its genesis, though have few problems on the way it is the go to investment for all now and I hope you did invest.
638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JUST CURIOUS on: May 01, 2021, 03:19:54 AM
I guess you could know that by what they are buying bitcoins for. Is it For long-term business, to hold long-term, to make money from price volatility, to control the price, for show off, etc. This will probably give you an idea how volatile the market will be.
I believe that most of this heavy hitters like the institutional monies that have flown into Bitcoin would be mostly for the shorter term profits IMO because I really dont see them HODLing Bitcoin for years like regular investors do, their main aim is to turn around some quick investment cash out even if they might reinvest hence I to do believe we might be witnessing some usual volatility in the market.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin better than Fiat? on: May 01, 2021, 02:49:40 AM
If you are going to ask me both fiat and bitcoins are useful tools in our quest for financial freedom. One is widely accepted in the world economy and the other one is a niche asset, in my opinion. Niche because not many of us commoners know about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general, and most of the players in crypto are the ones who know about it or the rich ones who has the money to invest. Countries are somewhat not shy in preventing Bitcoin mainstream acceptance, but one does hope that it will be the case in a few years.
I do believe what you said just for the Highlighted fact. I have also mentioned this somewhere to and I believe the knowledge of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general is still limited within some group of people or community and this have limited the power it could have but until Bitcoin has is like 70-80% global adoption which again is a long way off, Fiat will continue to dominate the financial circle even though Bitcoin do perform similarly or even better in some instances.

640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for Holders! on: May 01, 2021, 02:39:29 AM
I agree. It is a very suitable investment tool for bitcoin holders. If there is someone who has invested in bitcoin years ago, if it reaches the level of 60k dollars, it will have made a very serious profit. bitcoin is the pioneer of this market and its rising performance is high enough to enrich a holder.
That is so correct. I believe the investors that held on to their Bitcoin from way back investment are more likely to have made more profit this time because like you mentioned, you can imagine the profit margin for bitcoin if you have invested since 2017 and HODL till now.
Even now, I believe it is still a good to still have some investment in Bitcoin after some market correction for the long term.
