You don't need the blockchain to control double spend, because you don't need the historical of operations. This is thanks to a new struct called "Safebox" that contains balance of each account cryptographically secured. The only way to manipulate the Safebox is generating legit blocks at the blockchain.

Accounts are limited, generated on each block by the blockchain, in order to keep Safebox size as small as possible.

I think the Stratis team closed off registration for slack a while back due to spamming.  Try sending a PM to Krushang in the original post with your email and he can send you an invite.  All the Stratis team members are very active in there.

You have to ask a friend that is already on slack to ask the devs to add you. This is because of all the bot and spam accounts that were joining slack and causing problems.

This is really good news for the brighter future of Startis I hope so next year this platform will rock. Startis has good track record into current year and still moving forward with great spirit I think it's worth to invest in it.
