Wonder if they'll start climbing the clock tower before or after you do. hehe

Nvidia is developing a gpu for cryptomining only which means, the end of gaming gpus will end soon, my hopes is gaming gpus will only be for gaming like it was meant to.

hehe
622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining going to die soon? on: February 16, 2018, 08:08:47 PM
Yeah, it will die, as far as can tell, still no hope yet. Idiots paying $1000 for a rx 580, soon, will all commit suicide.

Wonder if they'll start climbing the clock tower before or after you do. hehe

9 Vega 64 now struggle to make $9 a day

Think about that...

4 1080tis struggle to make $10 a day

Think about that....

Now ask your self will a Vega 64 ever go back to $499 in price?

Your problem is you that you think too much about it in fiat.  Who gives a fuck about fiat?

The large number of us that have BILLS to pay.

Everyone has bills to pay.  If you didn't over extend yourself to begin with (not saying you, just in general), you would have money to pay your electric costs out of other funds as opposed to cashing out crypto at the wrong time to do it.
624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH GPUs miners beware! on: February 16, 2018, 01:28:31 PM
Are you kidding me)
this is still a long time to wait for such giants of the industry nvideo and amd will not stand aside, and if even so I can safely go to sell the kidney in order to buy an asiс)

The kidney only? You will have to sell all parts of your body to buy this hehe

It really depends on the demand for the kidney.  If twenty people need it, he'll get more $ out of it than if only one person needed it.
625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: hotel mining on: February 16, 2018, 03:28:05 AM
Given the current air travel environment, wouldn't baggage charges reduce the chance for any profit?

I think more than that would reduce profit.
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining still worth it for the average person? on: February 16, 2018, 02:50:34 AM
Even with the inflated prices you’re still better off buying today to start mining ASAP. If the shortage ends tomorrow, then yes waiting was better. If it ends in 4 weeks, then the money you saved wasn’t worth it. It’s just hard to overpay because we remember the prices from 6 weeks ago but dollar for dollar, the prices aren’t inflated enough to make waiting worth it. I’m sure everyone’s opinion will vary.

I agree, but at the same time, some people don't look at what prices were back in November/December.  So they end up paying double what gpu's were going for 2-3 months ago.  I don't think that's a wise move, because there are deals to be had, but you have to know how to get them, and you have to be very very quick.  Now is not the time to go on Amazon, eBay, Newegg, ect. and purchase from resellers who are asking double or more what I paid for the same gpu in November/December.

627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining still worth it for the average person? on: February 16, 2018, 02:33:51 AM
1k won't go very far in this inflated market. Just keep investing n wait for prices of gpus to come down.

Or get decent deals on GPU's.  I'm still seeing good deals on NewEgg.  B&H is a little more expensive the past couple of weeks, but whatever you're buying, you have to act fast.  When they announce that they have stock, they're gone in 5-30 minutes.

Look at MSRP of the card.  I wouldn't pay more than 10-15% higher than MSRP for any gpu right now.  Certainly do not overpay.  You'll regret it later.

I'll be building my fifth 6 gpu rig this weekend.  2-2-2 mixed 1070ti, 1080, 1080ti rig, but with the Newegg purchase limits and getting the best prices from them, it was the best I could do.
628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: hotel mining on: February 16, 2018, 01:49:25 AM
I love all the people complaining about stealing electricity. While the idea of unsecured rigs and moving them around is the real actual issue, people seem so conditioned to just reply "stealing electricity!!!!!! you are a bad bad man" Chill out, a 6 card rig uses like $2-4/day. In hotels, you're going to stay only a few nights. Big deal....

Why don't you just call up a hotel, explain what you want to do, and ask for permission?  If it violates a fair use of utilities clause, it is stealing.  Theft is theft.  Doesn't matter if it's a candy bar or a truck load of flat screen tv's.  The dollar amount isn't what I have a problem with.  The moral compass of the person who is willing to do it without permission is what I have the problem with.  Slippery slope people.

Ok, so how is plugging in your laptop, phone, or toothbrush (as suggested above) not stealing? A hair dryer can use upwards of 2000w. A hotel guest could use anywhere from $0.01 to $1.00 in electricity fairly easily. Would taking 6 showers and blow drying my hair each time for 1 hour in one day be theft? No, you'd just be considered a weirdo.

Why is mining viewed differently? Where do you draw the line on energy consumption? Unless a hotel establishes a rule on maximum power consumption, what is the definition of stealing? One could make the argument that you can max out the breaker on the room for the entire time you have the room booked. As also noted above, many asian hotels only turn on the lights when you insert your room card by the door thereby establishing what acceptable energy use is: when you're in the room.

That doesn't establish what acceptable energy use is.  If you want to know the answer to that question, ask the hotel chain.  The entire idea is a bad idea for many other reasons that have been brought up already.

What about people who take soaps and shampoo and robes , and have multiple long hot showers, are they stealing too? Hotels expect some people to do this, its factored into the price of the room. What if two women were getting ready to go out, both using hair dryers at same time or boiling a kettle and doing their hair. Has anyone in history ever overloaded a hotel room circuit? I dont think it happens because its extra effort for the hotel to stop what theyre doing and  fix your power or call for maintenance. A kettle would use around 2400w and 2000-2400w (240v) for a decent hair dryer. Thats 4400- 4800w you could use to run your rigs on just 2 outlets, even if it means disconnecting the tv.

I'm not a cheap ass, so I don't steal their shitty soap and shampoo.  I actually take my own when I go to a hotel, because I like the brand of soap, shampoo, and lotion that I use. Lol.  Stealing a robe from an expensive hotel in the United States would probably end up in them charging your credit card for it.  Maybe not, I don't know, because I've never taken one.  When they started banning smoking in hotel rooms in the United States, Marriott was charging a $300 cleaning fee to your credit card, if they had evidence that you smoked in their room.
629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS : Bank of America and JP Morgan Are banning CC purchases on: February 16, 2018, 01:36:40 AM
JP Morgan is aiming to ban CC on February 3rd and Bank of America to ban CC on February 2nd.

Looks like for right now they will only be banning CC purchases, which is not as bad as it sounds. If someone steals your CC and maxes it out buying cryptocurrency, then that could be a huge problem. Plus people can likely max it out as a way of getting "lent" money they cant afford to pay back.

As long as you can make Bank wires, and Debit card purchases this really shouldn't be a big deal.

Also dont forget Bank of America has a patent for an exchange system : https://www.coindesk.com/bank-of-america-outlines-cryptocurrency-exchange-system-in-patent-award/

1) I was under impression that VISA and MAsterCard has banned all crypto purchases outside of EU.
2) In any case it is understandablesince US has amazingly poor security regarding CC purchases, seems that they are still living in 90s.

1)  No ... The US is outside of the EU and Visa/Mastercard has not banned crypto purchases.
2) What do you mean that the US has poor security regarding CC purchases.  The consumer has very good security.  If you end up with an unauthorized charged, the cc company will charge it back, and give you your money back.
630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: There needs to be a new algo for arm processors or more accurately phones on: February 16, 2018, 01:34:06 AM
Why do people think mining on phones is a good idea?

They don't think to start with.  And then they realize how easy it would be to download an app and start mining, so they see the ease and the $$$ they think they'll end up with, but never will makes them think it's a good idea.  That's my take on it anyway.
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ Niche coin ] 17$ per day per 1080 TI with open-source miner(and keeps growing) on: February 16, 2018, 01:30:40 AM
Hey folks
In crypto, there is ones who search all the day, and the others.
Today, and since 3 days, I mine a very very profitable coin, 3x the earnings per day of 'standard' coins like equihash ones, or lux, bulwark, etc..

But I can't spread the word to the whole forum, and you know that.
But only for a little number of persons..

PM me for more details

Happy mining to all !
Personnally, I'm more than enjoying.. Wink

Don’t tell anyone the coin.  People will mine it and kill it .

hmmm I thought the idea of a coin was to have a decentralized network not a secret network just so some people can mine a coin and make money...

what DEV would want his coin to be kept secret?

also, if its on exchanges like yobit or hitbtc , its not worth mining because you wont be able to cash out

I don't know anything about yobit, but why wouldn't you be able to cash out on hitbtc?  I never had a problem selling XMR on hitbtc.
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: There needs to be a new algo for arm processors or more accurately phones on: February 16, 2018, 01:27:08 AM
Think about it , electronium gained so much fame because it had a mobile miner and what happened? People with vegas murdered the difficulty making it impossible to mine on phones. But what if there's a algorithm only mineable on phones or will mine very very slowly on x86 x64 and GPUs it would solve most of the problems of electronium users who want to mine and spend everything on their phones

Mining with a cell phone is going to shorten the life of your phone.  Do you really want to do that with an expensive smart phone?  I'll stick to mining ETN with my Vega's.
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH GPUs miners beware! on: February 16, 2018, 01:18:29 AM
Thats the worst thing to happen to ETH minning...

Just bad news this 2018....

What will you mine?Huh

You're a miner and the only thing you mine or even know about mining is one coin? Lol.

Thats what State bank of India is doing too but it has gone a step ahead by deciding not only to ban CC purchases but also debit card purchases. That's the beauty of SBI.Lets hope that not other banks follow such a move.

Does the State Bank of India also ban funding crypto purchases with funds from checking and savings accounts or is it just with credit and debit cards?  I don't know how the banking system in India works, but I would just move my fiat to a bank that allowed it.

There are lots of options in the usa as far as banking goes.  We have local credit unions, regional banks, and big banks like BOA and JP Morgan Chase.

I don't see an all out ban throughout the banking systems in the United States, unless it happens due to government regulation.  And after listening to the audio from the U.S. Senate hearing regarding crypto last week, it appears they have no intention of causing harm to anyone involved in the industry, other than those that are doing harm themselves.  Scam ICO's, BitConnect type pyramid schemes, ect.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS : Bank of America and JP Morgan Are banning CC purchases on: February 15, 2018, 09:54:49 PM
It's a good move. Too many people lost money they didn't have by speculating on Bitcoin in the last gold rush.

So you're supporting the babysitting policy. People can't handle their money, lets limit their options so they can be happy and never gain or lose anything. Mediocre, balanced society where there are no rich or poor but everyone has exactly the same is what we're aiming at, right?
People are irresponsible, let's be responsible for them, let's take their money and decide for them.

It's another proof that your money don't actually belong to you and that you should avoid banks at all cost. What next? They will monitor your CC purchases and block you from making "bad" decisions? Too much alcohol in your diet - transaction denied, buy another drink instead! Cigarettes? That's a big nono, transaction denied!

They are talking about credit cards, not debit cards and checking accounts.  Your available credit isn't your money, it belongs to the creditor.

Chase and BOA are telling people that they cannot buy crypto with the credit card companies money.
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will miners survive? on: February 15, 2018, 09:31:17 PM
You should buy an ASIC and fogot about mining from 1 GPU - this type of mining dead
or you can buy big RIG  https://www.whinkel.be/catalogsearch/result/?q=mining+farm&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjIvH2eWo2QIVCgDTCh1urgFzEAAYASAAEgLq_fD_BwE
https://mineshop.eu

How is mining with 1 GPU dead, but mining with a GPU rig is not?  Lol.  That doesn't even make sense.  It's exactly the same other than scale.
638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH GPUs miners beware! on: February 15, 2018, 02:40:40 AM
Nvidia already said it will not focus on mining in 2018 and that tells us they know there is something they cant compete with.

No, it says they prefer to stick with selling to GAMERS because that is a far more stable market that they DOMINATE.

Correct ... Also ... What the say publicly and what they really do are way different.  I'm a firm believer of mean what you say and do what you say, but large companies don't and can't operate like that.  It doesn't make sense to the consumer or the shareholder.
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU fans started failing, had to improvise a little on: February 15, 2018, 02:35:57 AM
I will never buy Gigabyte gpu's ... I've heard that their fans are shit ever since I've been in this game.

It's not only gigabyte, asus too. EVGA and Sapphire are the best .

Metroid, I like it a lot when you post as a sane person.  I'm tried of replying to your posts with the number to the suicide hotline.

No offense to you whatsoever, but some of the stuff that you post is way out there.  If you can predict the future based on your sources, more power to you.  But most the the people who you call trolls are saying you are the troll.  1 vs 999M loses every time.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How coming ethereum PoS hard fork will impact profit of miners? on: February 15, 2018, 02:28:14 AM
People mining ETH with their GPUs will have to move on to other PoW coins that are still mineable with GPUs. Whichever the most profitable one is at the time of the fork will probably see a pretty big increase in difficulty around that time due to the increased hash rate from all the ETH miners.

Or if Metroid is correct, ASIC ETH mining will kill gpu mining.  Keep in mind that he is mentally unstable, but also keep in mind that he could be correct at some point in time.
