After long consideration, lengthy negotiations with our vendors/partners and downright demands being placed from our side in light of competitiveness within the market we have decided to further cut our profit margins and are extraordinary pleased to announce that we will be packing more hash power into your batch 1 devices (whilst scaling power accordingly so not to worry on that front):
The new hash rates are as follows:
90Mh/s => Minimum 250Mh/s
This does not come with some compromise however and after taking your feedback into consideration we know that hash rate and power is your main point of concern when it comes to our miners. This is a "you can't have everything" situation: hash rate + fancy features. As a result of this decision we *are* able to upgrade your devices but as we're going more "back to basics" with the miners and the following features will have to be removed from the units to save both costs, space and speed up the manufacturing process:
- The Viper’s will no longer have LCD displays.
- Wi-Fi functionality will be dropped.
- WebGUI will not be included; the miners will run through a wired USB and ethernet connection fully supporting standard mining software.
As for the free cloud hashing, this will of course no longer be offered as the new hash rates make the cloud redundant for now; we currently have one of the most if not the most competitive offer on this market considering we are still on track for July with the same price. Well, cool - I don't care much for bells and whistles - just more to break.. |

Back up and running with the single. I got a decent quality PSU so hopefully it will hold up well for us.   Cool. Me, well, once again I returned home from work to find out it wasn't hashing. This time it wasn't the PSU, I wound up having to recycle the power though and now it's back up. Weird. |

They must not travel well... It seems of the 5 Singles I sent out, 2 have had the PSUs die. Thank you for supplying another power supply. I'm just glad it didn't burst into flames like that one did! I don't have fire suppression! (Though I made sure there isn't much fuel near it - nothing to burn up = hopefully just the power supply dying! I think I'll order another power supply to have on hand again.. Besides, I have a couple boxes that I want to build for my home network anyway.. So it looks like of the 5 singles, only 3 are currently online. 1 is waiting for a replacement PSU and the other hasn't been able to successfully get on the pool yet. Hopefully all of these issues stabilize in the near future.

Well, another BFL power supply bites the dust. I got home from work and it looks like it died just before I got home - maybe 15 minutes before.. Anyway, I threw in another power supply I had ordered to have on hand in case.. and the single is back up!

Power & Performance better than expected
The initial power consumption numbers for Monarch are in and they're about 20% better than anticipated, meaning we expect the Monarch to consume 0.45W/GH at the chip level. This translates to about 300W per 600GH at the wall. Chip performance of all systems is as good as or better than predicted. To put this in perspective, this makes the Monarch chip nearly twice as power efficient as compared to our 28nm competition whose products operate between 0.9 and 1.0w per GH at the wall.
Chip Delay
The initial batch that we currently have in hand is not suitable to ship to customers. This is due to a problem in a top metal layer of the chip that prevents some engines from initializing when the chip is first powered on. (With ASIC design, there are a number of layers to a chip; most of those layers are in silicon, but the last few layers are in a special type of metal. Subsequent batches were held in wait just prior to the metal layers so that we could affect any necessary changes and proceed with chip production from that point, drastically reducing the time it takes to bring a new batch of chips to life.) The problem was positively identified and the fix is already in progress; however it will take approximately 5 weeks before we get packaged chips in hand, meaning the deployment of the Monarch will be delayed about 5 weeks from now. The specific date is still being determined, but I wanted to get an update out as soon as possible.

Because of the delay, we're offering several different forms of compensation that vary based on order pricing and order date:
