621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: October 05, 2016, 02:16:22 AM
So it seems the news is real? What do you make of this?

http://www.coindesk.com/factom-blockchain-series-a-4-2-million/

This would be very good news.... Smiley

Indeed, now looks much better.

this article is nearly a copy/paste from the previous article

anyway there is only one way of knowing and its to ask Factom itself, and I'm going to ask the question to David Johnston, i've already met him in person.
that will clarify the issue.

Oh boy. You're like one of these little dogs, running around, always barking until they get attention.

Do you believe all media is writing bullshit now but everybody needs to read your super-smart-theories you spread over all platforms? ;-)

Guess the only media he trust is the one written by himself.  Some people have such a high esteem of themself, they should make a coin from it and sell them if they believe it has such value! Smiley

Haha well said.. he is likely getting paid to fud.. man he is not very good at it... whales paying him should demand a refund Smiley

I guess we would call it Proof-Of-Ego Smiley

daymm diff just shot to the roof

YEah someone seems to really like this coin...

It looks like there's other hidden pools or something because theres only one pool active and the hashrate is way above it right now...
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][COAL] BitCoal - Mining for the Masses (CPU/GPU) - POW - CryptoNight on: October 04, 2016, 09:49:41 PM
did you guys throw gpu power on this coin? trying with my i5 but nothing for hours (solo).

Yeah not a single bloc from my cpu since this morning...

I am mining both CPU and GPU, CPU is getting slow, hard to mine as diff climbs up. Got some coins, but not much..

Yeah same, but im getting errors from both pool and official pool seems down...  Also my coins on this pool havent been paid yet, no payment went thru at all for now.  Hope this get fixed.  The democrats pool is working with alot of errors (connection errors) but im being paid for my shares.

http://pool.weusecoal.org/ is now up and running!
Follow the guide and mine BitCoal now!

Not able to connect miner to pool:
Stratum - Cannot connect  to mine.weusecoal.org port 3333
Stratum - Failed to connect, retry in 20 sec...

Yeah we are all getting the same i think

Dev, when will receive the payouts for the official pool?

Tnx

When the pool first went live it said I could get 80k a day.

Now it says i will get 3k a day with the difficulty rise.

Sucks I missed the mining boat on this one again by not having remote access to my rig LOL

Yeah well ive managed to get a few yesterday, guess i will either sell them or hold them.  Will see if im getting some offers for them.
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][COAL] BitCoal - Mining for the Masses (CPU/GPU) - POW - CryptoNight on: October 04, 2016, 06:03:36 PM
This is an interesting idea. Haha I like the name, gives mining for coal a whole new meaning. What are your future plans with distribution ?
I'm glad you using cryptonight I love that algo. Can mine with gpu and cpu ^^ and not dominated by mine farms and people with too much money.  Grin

I agree, if a small exchange can add this up it would be nice as well.

I havent seen the payout schedule on the pool thou, its even showing negative numbers in there, hope this will get fixed...

Yeah, I noticed too. Fixing it right now. Apparently the wallet is denying access to the mining pool.

Hmmmm im not able to find blocks anymore....  Any of you guys are getting any?

Have i broked something on my side?

The difficulty is way too high to find any blocks at the moment alone Smiley

Oh already, didn't expected that, well guess i need to congrats you for your coin success, lol...  Since i get you, what is the frequency of the pool payments?   Think i will need to move on it if i want to find some blocks now...

This really look cool at least a unique algo, what is the premine percentage ?

BitCoal was not premined at all (0% Premine)

You can see it in the conf also:
GENESIS_BLOCK_REWARD=0 (0% Premine)

CHECK OUT OUR NEW LOGO

If we use the pool what is the schedule for the payments?

All someone with any common sense from the coin dev side would do is to post the configuration file for the SGminer that supposedly works for AMD cards. None of the miners work.  I read through this entire ANN and not a single person helped anyone set up an AMD miner here.  No reason someone couldn't post a simple config file here.  It's not a secret, only to the hoarders if there really are any.  That tells me this is a complete scam.  Avoid at all costs.

My miner is working fine on amd and nvidia cards.
Post your configuration and we will help you fixing it.

Thanks for the response, can you tell me what miner you are using for AMD, and how you set it up?  I'm using sgminer-x64-5.3.3-vlt  The vlt batch file under edit looks like this:

@echo off
@setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
@set TERM=

sgminer.exe -k veltor -I 18 -o stratum+tcp://veltor.suprnova.cc:8897 -u user.worker1 -p x

I'm getting zero WU's, and a lot of HW errors.  Any ideas or proven ways to make other miners work (AMD)?  I'm using all R9 280x's bty, user/pass are not real to protect id...thanks...

Well they aren't using the miner you stated (im using the same as you), they do alot more with their miner than ours.  Im not so sure its worth losing my hash when they do 50% more with the same cards than me.  But hes selling it, but im not willing to pay so high for this miner, way too expensive.

Thank you for the advice!  This saves me a boat load of time and energy.  I don't buy miners either.  End of story.

No problem, it sad but this looks like a private coin, When some have a better miner than others it doens't give equals chances....

Anyone hae an idea why my 480 is giving me around 25mhs of exp and its giving me the same with eth even if they have such a DAG difference?

If i try my 280x it gives me 17 on eth and 25 on exp.    So i don't understand why my 480 is giving me the same...

Thanks
Memory bandwidth and its untilization

i also have a 370 and it gives 11 mhs on eth and 17 on exp, which is normal because of the diff of the DAG.  Can you elaborate more plz?

Diff is the main reason, with the 370 17 Mh per sec is the most you can get mining Dagger-Hasimoto.  When diff goes up on the 370 it needs to make more calls to memory which lowers the hashrate.  In the case of the RX 480 diff isn't a factor at the moment so you see no change in hashrate between the different tokens.

Well the 480 should do better than my 280x right?  higher clocks on gpu & memory, more cores as well.  290 is doing better at EXP than 280x because of this, so i was also expecting a rise with the 480.
