Is it temporal or what? it will be back as soon as we are swapped onto the new block chain they would be totally crazy not to re add a coin with an average trade volume of nearly 1000ltc/day I am still talking to them about the best way to handle the swap from the old chain t the new one I think it will end up that people have to withdraw there coins from cryptsy swap them to the new chain then redeposit the new coins but that is still not confirmed the swap over prosess will be quick and simple Waiting for something proper, As a crypto Member of course we want ADT to progress so lets hope everything will be normal and will tart trading well with upgoing price. |

Yes Nothing is goingh to happen, I think one thing that needs to be clarified here is what the 31st relates to. On December 16, the Chinese government, through a deputy director of the PBOC, unofficially met and ordered 10 third-party payment providers of virtual currencies among them the biggest, Alipay, to stop providing clearing services to the Bitcoin exchanges with a time limit of 31st January 2014. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/bitcoin-price-halves-china-clampdown-085816934.htmlHowever, instead of waiting until the 31st of January, 3rd party payment processors terminated services effective immediately. As of right now, depositing and withdrawing funds from Chinese exchanges is not done through 3rd party payment providers. This is why, as the OP states, the 31st is pretty much irrelevant at this point However, Huobi and OK Coin are using their corporate bank accounts to process deposits/withdrawals. Some (including myself) argue that this is against the PBOC's new regulations on Bitcoin, which state that: "financial institutions and payment institutions are not allowed to use bitcoin...or directly or indirectly provide customers with other services related to bitcoin"and also states banks "may not act as a central counterparty in Bitcoin trading"In my opinion, Huobi (and OK Coin) are operating outside of the PBOC's bitcoin regulations (and I argue are not adhering to many more regulations) and are at risk of being shut down at anytime. However, this has nothing to do with January 31st. you are rite, Third party processing already shut down and that effect happened for few days and now its back, so nothing os going to happen  nothing more to happen from china, if anything happens then will happen some positive. 4th market using CENT Why would they do this? Ironically, because CENT proved XPM is not enough for cheaper or highly diluted coins. CENT wanted and deserved to be priced lower but it simply couldn't. So how long before someone (like Vlad with his ShitCoin) figures that out and releases a CrapCoin with 100 trillion coins. Such a coin would garner a huge value not cause it's good but simply cause there is nothing cheap enough and liquid enough to price it with. CENT is perfectly named and perfectly fit (now) to be the perfect currency base for a 4th market which will deal with ultra cheap coins (like NXT, LOTTO, SHT, etc) and ultra diluted coins. With hundreds of new coins coming out there's gonna be a lot of those and unless they use CENT then someone like Vlad can come along and Greatly and profitably game the system. I believe that was one point he was trying to prove, that with 100 trillion coins he could have had a top ranked coin even though it was a total ShitCoin. Good for us that the name itself kept the coin from being listed otherwise he would have proved to be correct. Sounds reasonable To Good to be true, That is gonna happen. There are a lot coins in market and a lot to come so they only market for new comming coins which cant be traded with BTC, LTC or XPM the only is perfect pair. |

Should I start getting into crypto-currencies? I am a complete noob when it comes to Bitcoin and Litecoin and all the others out there. Is it too late for someone to get into mining and trying to earn money from this? Any beginner advice would be greatly appreciated.
One thing to remember; the more people who mine the less profitable it gets as difficulty of mining increases. So when asking on a public forum of complete strangers whether or not you should mine, it would be in my best interest (since i mine) for you and any other noobies out there not to mine. In all seriousness, do some research before going all in on equipment. Know the difference between a MH/s and GH/s.; know what a pool is and what a block is; understand the basic concepts of how bitcoin and other cryptocurrency's work. If you can't even tell me what the point of mining is then I highly recommend you don't do it. Getting a ROI off of mining is extremely difficult and risky. Your best bet is to start off slow with something cheap like a ASICminer USB miner. They can be found on ebay for like $50 or something. It might get you .01 BTC a month and a half with it running 24/7. Are you actually advising or advertising ASIC Usb miner? Know the difference between a MH/s and GH/sI hope atleast knowing this he didnt came to the forum to ask about starting mining. It is possible, Cryptsy is a trading platform and always searching some ways of income and better market With CENT cryptsy will have a very good opportunity of gaining a lot, Profit from stakes is best and first part for them so very soon we will be able to trade CENT as 4th market. anyway it very hard to broke even .002 satoshi wall...When everything will be fix, it will be very easy. Dont forget that few weeks ago people had same statement for 1satoshi wall and today you can see where 1 saoshi wall is. |

Is anyone else having this problem? I've reset my computer and tried a different PC, but no Captcha is showing up. I don't use Ad-Blockers or anything like that, and I'm the only one in my household who knows what BTC stands for.  Change your browser I faced the Same problem but when i changed from Chrome to Firefox it worked. Try it may be it will work |

As Beoga says cryptsy doesn't appear to be on the same chain, transactions are just finding their way there if they come from old inputs. Who knows what chain cryptsy are actually on and perhaps it's time to stop worrying about getting on their chain and rather think about getting them to come on to our chain. I can do that, but it is no sense.
Actually it does make sense for as many peers as possible to get on the same chain. The more peers that agree a specific chain is correct the better it will become for all. I'm not certain if it's needed but how will all of the new people downloading the wallet know about this? Pennies need's an alert system that tell people to download the newest client. Now that would be a innovative feature. Never configured anything. The folder you mentioned is the first place I looked but only have: database folder, .lock,blk0001.dat, blkindex.dat, db.log, debug.log, peers.dat and wallet.dat
Am I missing something? Appreciate any information if I messed up somewhere. Everything does seem to be working fine, including transfers in and out of cryptsy.

Pennies v0.10.2.1-abe released! Download (Alt)Changes: - Properly built as release instead of debug (doesn't need those ridiculously large files anymore) - New checkpoints - Minor splash screen modification (now you can read the bright yellow text at the bottom) - Released on MediaFire as well for those who can't access google (hopefully you can access this, I have no idea) Let me know if this fixes your crashes for those who had that problem when it tries to connect. Don't forget to try wiping the blockchain first. I really didn't have problems with older versions crashing, more like freezing. That being said, the new client (v0.10.2.1-abe) synchronized very fast (25 mins.), all my funds are there and test transfers of 10,000,000 were sent back and forth between cryptsy without any problems.
