Cryptofka - Mafia are we rolling the dice on the Cup final questions for our unfriendly side bet fixture? Let me.

Depends. If you want to avoid the shame of defeat, you can already send the money.

It is going to be interesting to see how final participants will play this, maybe as a safety in case they lose the match, or to increase reward.

We already said this multiple times, and should also be common logic - the participant of the duel can bet on the duel, but only on himself.

I seem to remember a season when Liverpool were playing something like 30 different defence pairings in premier league, during the time Van Dijk was injured. If I'm not wrong, this was that season, I even forgot you guys had Lovren, wondering why he was sold with so many injury prone people.

Yup, it's that season. Lovren was sold at the beginning of the season, and we decided to risk it because Fabinho could cover.
Then Fabinho got injured and Hendo covered, then Hendo got injured.

It was a horrible season injury-wise, I still can't believe we finished 3rd.

Went -4 points again, replaced both Foden and KDB. City has a rough run of games coming up, and now with all of them available it will be a cointoss who will play.
Next transfer I'm gonna replace Alvarez as well, I'm going with 0 City players in the next 5 games.

I'm doing some illogical moves, but that's the only way to try and catch some differentials at this point. 8th or 35th - it's all the same.

Signed a few minutes after the tx was created, you got a bit better deal so you're welcome Grin

I imagine he's someplace getting drunk and celebrating the Micky Cup, that's a new low for Liverpool fans. TBH.

Nobody celebrates wins against Chelsea anymore. Not even LFC academy players.

Posting now since I am going to watch Eurovision

Some things should be left unsaid..

After shooting perfect 5/5 penalties, chi20 is our newest Division 1 member.
LTU_btc will at least find some consolation in winning his friendly against slackovic.

Full round results are here (sorry for another tag, don't want to have it all over the place):

For Division 1 spot
LTU_btc - chi20   3-3 (3-5 penalties)

For Division 2 spot
arallmuus - MAAManda   5-4

Friendlies:
Trofo vs. Slissy (1 mBTC)   3-4
B1g4udge vs. Renato297 (for fun)   5-2
Hhampuz vs cryptofrka (2mBTC)   2-4
slackovic vs LTU_btc (1mBTC)   3-3 (2-3 penalties)

General question: Is there anything I need to do if I want to join BSFL next season? As far as I know, I'm automatically in, right?

Nope, you're in automatically.
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 25, 2024, 07:22:35 PM
This is really a disgrace. English referees are the worst ones in the world.

First of all, I don't understand how the Chelsea goal was disallowed. You simply can't see from this angle, let alone draw the lines.
They probably couldn't tell, so they followed the linesman's initial call, which was offside.
Considering how close the call was and the recommendation that the referees allow the play to go on in case of uncertainty, I really don't know why he even flagged it.

After that we have a perfectly good VVD goal, that 'block' is simply ridiculous. If it's compensation, it's a stupid one.

Ultimately, I'm really proud of the team and how we performed. We had 5 kids on the pitch, Chelsea should have put this to bed comfortably in the extra time and have only themselves to blame.
They were horrible, couldn't get 3 passes in succession.

Something funny for the end:
Jayden Danns has more trophies in his second professional game than Harry Kane in his whole career.

So, one playoff duel has been settled, and we'll have drama until the end in the other one for the Division 1 spot.

We're closing this season with the Cup finals and the battle for 3rd place. We'll probably have betting for this on Sportsbet tomorrow.

The Cup Final questions are here!

The deadline is the usual one, February 27th, 18:00 GMT.

The Cup pairs are:

Final:
Hhampuz - chi20

3rd place:
Renato297 - Ulven

We're ending the season in style so it's mostly football, with 1 F1 question added.
We also have a question about English League 2 - I just finished watching Welcome to Wrexham and found it to be more interesting than I thought.
I highly recommend it to anyone that loves football, so this is our little memento to it.

Here has more quality buzz than other gambling threads, how can I join this party @cryptofrka?

Sure, you're just in time for Season 4. Read the rules in the OP, sign up in the thread and ask in case you have any questions.

Cryptofrka, how come that LTU_btc has four points against me? I counted three points for me and for him. I have won the 6th question and he has won the 9th question. Other answers that are correct we have the same. Could you double check? By my calculations we should be going into the penalties.

Shit, correct. Sorry, I marked his Q5 green because he won that in his important duel and I counted it against you as well.
It's 3-3 and yeah, penalties will decide the outcome.
631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: February 25, 2024, 06:34:25 PM
Damn! Once again, LTU_btc was saved by that late goal

Yep, incredible hahah. He's destined to stay up.

Results:

For Division 1 spot
LTU_btc - chi20   3-3 (going to penalties)

For Division 2 spot
arallmuus - MAAManda   5-4

arallmuus stays in Div2, MAAManda will have his chance again next season.

Friendlies:
Trofo vs. Slissy (1 mBTC)   3-4
B1g4udge vs. Renato297 (for fun)   5-2
Hhampuz vs cryptofrka (2mBTC)   2-4
slackovic vs LTU_btc (1mBTC)   3-3 (going to penalties)

Questions for the Cup Final will be posted in an hour or so.

Not every club, like Liverpool, understands how to discard unwanted players in order to increase net spend, but you can't deny that he employed/signed players worth Ł807m and won only three domestic titles. Stop bringing net spend into the argument; that is a club internal matter that has nothing or less to do with the manager

Klopp has full support; he signed the most expensive defence in 2018, and his attacker Nunez is presently the most expensive striker in the league. You keep making it look like he has nothing. We all love him but you're only making him look bad.

Yeah, we did sell well - that much we can agree on.
I never said he has nothing, we have a really good team and finally there was decent support for the manager. The fact is though that Liverpool's net spend is quite low - and that's because Klopp can make an average player look good.

In 2020-21 season he secured CL qualification playing without any senior defenders for most of the season. Just look at these numbers:

VVD - 33 games out
Gomez - 31 games out
Matip - 28 games out
Lovren - sold, wasn't replaced

The CB's with most games played in the PL that season were Nat Phillips (17 starts), Matip (10 starts), Rhys Williams (9 starts) and Ozan Kabak (9 starts). 3 of those are Championship standard at best.

Poor buwaytress, I have a feeling he's playing 10 friendlies this week.

You'll need to ping me for these friendlies, there are really a lot of them this week. No rest for the organizers, eh? Grin

A gledaj...

Naravno, jer temeljem toga lakše dolaze do investicija.

Cryptofka - it's been 3 seasons now and we're yet to play each other. Whenever I set a match you always chicken out. I'm open to 1mBtc friendly if you have some balls left in you.  If you wanna chicken out like Trofo I won't think less of your team. Don't worry.

Gladly. Easy money, our discussion in the EPL thread shows your lack of basic football knowledge.
Will be like taking candy from a baby.

1mBTC sidebet accepted!

Anyone else, just tag me here for 1 mbtc each, I will pre-agree.

I might be up for one last sidebet, let's see if somebody's interested.

Let's see what you're made of!

Winning 1 EPL title and 2 domestic cups in eight years after spending almost as much as Pep did is not overachieving; you're only exaggerating because Liverpool were irrelevant for far too long before Klopp. Nobody is denying that he did well at Liverpool; he won everything; yet, using the term "overachieved" to describe someone who won only one league trophy in eight years is absurd.

I am not going to talk about Euro trophies because Tuchel won them all in less than 18 months. Facts only.

Are you on drugs, man?
The only relevant metric is net spend. Below is a sum for all years since Klopp is at Liverpool.

Club net spend
Liverpool   Ł254m
Man City   Ł692.3m
Man United   Ł888m
Chelsea   Ł835.7m
Arsenal   Ł696.2m
Tottenham   Ł484m

If this is not overachieving, I don't know what is.
638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 24, 2024, 08:16:09 PM
Arsene Wenger was only stringy, the club was not broke or anything; he was fully supported but preferred spending on some random kids from the French league for cheap. I recall Arsenal fans carrying banners calling him "a stringy coach"; the money was there, but he had no idea how to spend it.

Why are you continuously dragging Klopp into financial discussions? He bought Nunez for €100m and nearly bought Caicedo for €115m last summer. Klopp gets what he wants; the only difference between him and Pep is that players often reject his project (Caicedo).

Fans are mostly idiots who don't actually follow what's happening. Arsenal was working on a really tight budget at the time and it's not even an opinion - it's a fact.

Most managers in top clubs buy good players. If you think Klopp didn't overachieve with Liverpool (and Dortmund), I really don't know how to continue the conversation Grin
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 24, 2024, 08:09:34 PM
Considering that Estupinan, KDB and Alvarez did not start and ended up with 2 points combined, I actually have a decent return.
Captaining Watkins will give me ~10 points differential against most of you that went with Haaland and that should compensate a bit.

This is the worst team I'll ever put (nobody on the bench), next GW should already be a lot better.

I'm happy to hear the feedback. Not sure if you guys remember but there was quite a bit of resistance in the beginning, although I think those outcries have now gone.

Breaking ice is always hard. I spoke with Trofo about something like this before and he told me that it has kinda been tried before, but that there wasn't much interest so I didn't push.
We had the same for BSFL - if we didn't test it during the World Cup, no way we'd get people to join.

You secured a huge prize pool and made it easy to submit/check via forms and sheets, so these were 2 big drivers for this to work - kudos to you for both.

I'm fairly excited about one new format we're making for Euros, and we have an idea about a multi-sport format like yours. I think there will be a lot more fun and interactive stuff on the forum soon enough.
