621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New scenario for cryptocurrencies next semester on: August 01, 2022, 09:21:11 PM
Perhaps the current market conditions look confusing to a.great extent and that it makes the prediction harder one predict the future, but we all know how the previous IEO market wave ended and how hard it is for the altcoin market to succeed in the present market conditions. But then anything can still happen and we can still witness the unexpected positive outcome from the IEO market.

623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: August 01, 2022, 07:57:18 AM
If am not mistaken, El Salvador came second among countries that hold Bitcoin and made the balance public. The fact that Ukraine allowed donations through Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies shows the fact that the government is beginning to recognize Bitcoin as the trance border currency without the services of a third party. That being said for El Salvador to have held the total Bitcoin holding without selling any bits from it shows that even though El Salvador comes second to Ukraine in terms of countries' Bitcoin holding El Salvador also being the first country to adopt Bitcoin as a currency that will serve as an alternative to the centralized currency.

You may need to provide a link Piesel or some better explanation regarding both the timeline that you are talking about and perhaps more of the specifics regarding how you compare Ukraine to El Salvador in terms of a compare/contrast situation....

And as far as who is first, I am not sure whether it really matters that much, except that you seem to be bringing up information that is not really supported by facts in terms of some kind of comprehensive approach that Ukraine or any other country might have taken in regards to bitcoin. I recall in 2014 Japan made transacting in bitcoin legal, but they did not make it to be legal tender, as far as I recall.. and they also did not buy it for their treasuries or take other proactive measures like El Salvador did.  My point is that countries have done all kinds of shit with bitcoin prior to El Salvador in 2021, but none of those approaches seemed to have been as comprehensive as El Salvador's approach.. at least, not so far.

As far as my recollection goes, Ukraine was all over the place in terms of various contradictory message in respects to bitcoin prior to 2021 and even in recent times, and surely there has been some contradictory statements coming out of Ukraine in recent times too.. even though there have been war desperation statements coming out of Ukraine also (in recent times).. and El Salvador came out with a more comprehensive approach in June 2021 that got implemented in September 2021.. and I will concede that surely all of these matters are moving targets in terms of either what any particular country/location is doing in terms of either promoting bitcoin through how bitcoin is designated or various investments that they make into bitcoin or allow their citizens to make into bitcoin and any restrictions that might be part of their approach, as well.
Hi, thanks for your corrections and demand for link to the claims, I must acknowledge your in-depth knowledge and analytical explanations to terms and worlds as regards to the topic of discussion. There is no doubt the fact that Ukraine have been on the offensive side of Bitcoin adoption and has not been friendly to Bitcoin-related laws and policies, but then ever since the war started Ukraine has benefited hugely from Bitcoin as various donations were made to support the country during the war. So that Bitcoin donated amount makes up for the country's high Bitcoin balance among countries such as El Salvador which have made Bitcoin a legal tender and already have millions of dollars country Treasury in Bitcoin.
I got the figure that placed Ukraine 1st among the other countries whose Bitcoin balances are made public from a link shared on this thread, I will scan back a little and I will share the link or screenshots.

625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Classic Catches Triple-Digit Gains During the Last Two Weeks! on: July 28, 2022, 10:00:07 AM
Market situations like this are not new, even ETHC is not different, most of the altcoins that have witnessed massive sell-off in the last few months have shown great sign of recovery. Ethereum classic will dominate the altcoin market for some time before any major pullback will happen.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallet demand increases in 2022 bear market as exchange scramble on: July 26, 2022, 11:26:41 PM
What do you mean by personal wallets? If you mean non-custodial wallets then it's because hardware wallets are more secure than non-custodial wallets.
In terms of security hardware wallets provide more security than other non-custodial wallets such as trust wallets and the rest, but a large number of Bitcoin holders who see ledger cold wallet as an expensive wallet to buy will rather store their coins in a noncustodial wallet and have the keys properly protected and never connect to an unsecured network, to avoid data compromised.
627  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you know how to trust online sportsbooks? on: July 22, 2022, 05:37:03 PM

Which forums are you talking about? Bitcointalk where most of users of the gambling section are just there for the quotas of their signature campaign, mostly licking boots of any casino around? I don't think it's more reliable than a serious reviewing website where review from users are available.
This is true the majority of gambling section posters on this forum are there just to fill they quotas, and only a few of those posting there actually play gambling games in the real sense, I dont know why but that ks because some of the casino signature campaigns require they participant to make a certain number of posts in the gambling section.
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China banking crisis pointer to Bitcoin credibility on: July 20, 2022, 01:32:51 PM
Try to cover more facts and at that go the extra mile to make everything clear to readers, just as one member already stated the situation is not with the central bank of China but just a region, and even from what I saw on credit, the videos does not contain details such as viewed boards with bank name on it. So we should keep looking at things to see how the situation unfolds in China.
629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: July 18, 2022, 10:23:23 PM
I highly doubt whether Bitcoin will become successful in the coming years. The people need to be financially aware first. They need to explore and learn crypto (which would not be an easy task, I think). But at least it has thrown some light of hope on the future of Bitcoin.
I don't seem to get your point clearly, but again if you are referring to Bitcoin then i will say Bitcoin is already successful in all terms of it as a payment system Bitcoin have offered total control and freedom. El Salvador President have understood this fact that Bitcoin is the part way to gaining total freedom from the economic red taptism  of the global system, before now el Salvador never hard its own currency and if that is the case then Bitcoin a decentralized currency will give the country a better position.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gets more attention on: July 16, 2022, 10:49:09 PM
..It's quite an impressive initiative that the Swiss Post office, through it's banking arm, PostFinance, are taking to offer crypto services to its customers in response to their demands for it...
Wouldn't this be one of the good news among the many bad news from Bitcoin?
But yes, this news may not have much effect on the Bitcoin market, because it is still regional in a country. But at least this is one way for Bitcoin to become increasingly accepted in various circles.
This could truly be good news for Bitcoin but then in a way, this could mean some form of identity target as am sure the post office will always demand identity from users who want to use the post office to buy Bitcoin, and also if not for the fact that i
This means public adoption through government agencies but not all Bitcoin users will want to leave exchanges to buy Bitcoin through the post office.
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will exchanges control ETH after it becomes a PoS cryptocurrency? on: July 16, 2022, 09:00:13 PM
Ethereum networks have become vulnerable through the many factors and development that have made Ethereum more centralized, moving from proof of stake to proof of work which many Bitcoin critics use to flag the energy and environmental impact of Bitcoin mining, this has led to many countries banning Bitcoin and so many other anti Bitcoin crusades all over the world.
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gets more attention on: July 16, 2022, 08:41:22 PM
Bitcoin is indeed a lot of attention because many see the good potential of bitcoin. I myself am also interested in bitcoin. because my see the good potential in bitcoin, because if you invest in bitcoin it can be achieved by all circle. so it's only natural that many countries are interested in bitcoin. because they see the good potential. in bitcoin
a lot of development is taking place in the Bitcoin ecosystem, and the adoption of Bitcoin is slowly gaining attention right now with government restrictions and slow adoption with just a few countries adopting Bitcoin. A post office is adopting Bitcoin for business purposes and few will be demanding KYC. The need for KYC is what makes the use of those services not appealing to most Bitcoin lovers.
Seeing the leads in the Bitcoin adoption El Salvador has taken a lead among countries to have made Bitcoin a legal tender and also some other centralized services adopting the use of Bitcoin, I believe in the nearest future government are going to adopt Bitcoin following the already mainstream slow Bitcoin adoption.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin have real value? on: July 16, 2022, 07:22:42 PM
Of course not Bitcoin has no intrinsic value. People are very scared for this because bitcoin is being dumped a lot. But I believe bitcoin will reach a better value very soon. Currently bitcoin price is $20458. I believe bitcoin price will not be dumping anymore. But if bitcoin market behaves like this, People will stop believing in cryptocurrencies. But the current price of Bitcoin is 20458.
Those who are dumping Bitcoin, are in for short term basis and the fact is since Bitcoin have the intrinsic value and that make it hard for Bitcointo totally lost that value unless it is exchange for the dollar, and even at the moment Bitcoinis still being sold at a high price, so let leave it at that and enjoy the whole process of Bitcoin development and advancement.
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: July 16, 2022, 07:16:10 PM
Amid the criticism about the volatility effect of Bitcoin on the El Salvador economy since its adoption sometime last year, some level of development has taken place in the small American countries like Bitcoin city and the volcano development that will power several other crypto related industry activities and in no time I believe country will build their own mining farm.

El Salvador is open to many advantages in the crypto industry since the country is first to have taken the move to make Bitcoina legal tender, atlist that will give both the government and the citizens the chance to develop that sector to improve the economy.
635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallet demand increases in 2022 bear market as exchange scramble on: July 16, 2022, 10:37:41 AM
Seems like people are accumulating coins at lower prices and transferring to wallets.
This seems like a good news to me because the more number of people hold coins in non-custodial wallets the lesser chances of a dump.
This is directly contributing to a hold mentality and will lead to a pump in the near future.
Also, holding coins in an exchange is bad all together since it more or or less contributes to panic sell at times of a dump.

I believe the ops is nit talking about altcoins storage, the member is talking about the increase in hardware demand. But the most confusing part of this thread is that the record on the article does not include another personal wallet usage,  because that wallet also provides high security that can only be accessed by the owner with the private keys just like the ledger wallets too.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallet demand increases in 2022 bear market as exchange scramble on: July 15, 2022, 11:20:53 PM
I find this a very good news.

This only shows that many are starting to be well educated on how risky it is to keep their funds into exchanges. Many of us have been voicing that for years until the majority of hacks had come and now it's worse, exchanges disabling the withdrawals of users money.

I think that the demand for hardware wallets will continue to increase even for the next years.
With exchange you don't have a wallet, because not your keys not your wallet and exchange does not offer good security to secure funds and most exchanges hot wallets are always hacked into and millions of dollars are stolen from exchanges frequently, so that raised a lot of worries for long term holders. That is why attention is now shifting to hardware wallet since hardware wallet offers user strong security and holders are in control of the wallet with the private keys.
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I doing the right thing on: July 15, 2022, 11:11:28 PM
How can a newbie invest in good altcoins? I know about BTC and ETH but I think I can make more money from altcoins instead of BTC and ETH, I did my research and I have a few projects in mind but I don't know if they are worthy..

Avalanche, Mina protocol, Phala network and Aleph Zero to name a few
Good altcoins or potential altcoins will give you market fulfillment and huge profit if you learn how to hold and are able to wait the right time to sell. Some got wrong in the time of buying and selling which sometimes cause them losses.

But what I understand OP is you want easy money and instant profit which is likely impossible in this bearish time. Even if you are going to choose new projects, doubted if you can still make it.
In my suggestion, I will say ops should forget about making quick profits and focus on discovering the right project, because with profits making mentality come disappointment, and wrong investment step is likely taken since the quest for making huge profits will cover ops sense of judgements.
An altcoin is the most volatile asset to hold and I can advise anyone to hold altcoin for long unless you are ready to lose your investment at some point.
638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice from a stranger on: July 15, 2022, 09:54:59 PM
Is it true that new altcoins are the best to invest in right now? Someone said you can easily make better profits from new projects than investing in old altcoins that have already x their values, what do you think? Good or bad idea.
Altcoins are unpredictable and that makes it hard to assume new projects because the new project will end up as shit coins if there is not a strong use case to support the project ecosystem. So if you see an old project with a lot of potential you can still invest in them and make good profits, it does not matter whether it is an old or new project what matters is the project whitepaper and what a real-life problem project is aimed at that guarantee success.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin limit supply on: July 15, 2022, 06:35:13 PM
There are millions of Satoshi in one Bitcoin and are in bits so even if the total 21 million Bitcoinhase been mined, the total buts will only increase in price which gives Bitcoin an infinite total supply. But you should also understand that Bitcoin, if the demand increase so the scarcity will inflate the price.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Current Financial Market Condition on: July 14, 2022, 08:41:47 PM
It's no secret that US inflation is on the rise. Dollar strengthened yesterday against the euro and pound, which attracts investors to invest in other assets. Is there a way out of this problem and who is most involved?
The only way out is to hold intrinsic assets such as Bitcoin since Bitcoin has an anti-inflationary mechanism, the US inflation rate jumps the highest in the past 20 years, and this call for concern and shifting of focus to other assets in other to be an edge over inflation and market monopoly as we are witnessing presently in the world economy.
