All of the altcoins are following Litecoin. Litecoin's difficulty has increased 6x since November. Usually other altcoins are set apart, but they are all following suite in profitability range despite low difficulty. Why?
If this trend continues, by the time Titan comes out it would only be making around $100 a day. To start. Where as right now it would make $500-600 a day. And just a short time ago it would have made 900-1000 a day.
We need solutions.
Thoughts, Ideas, Input....
More people are hopping on. Difficulty goes higher, its a vicious cycle, until difficulty plateaus, profitability increases, more people hop on again, and it starts all over.

wait actually hangon.....
Take the antminer s1 at .893 BTC Even if you added another .1btc for PSU
btc/hash (.993/180) <-- (thats at stock speeds, reliably get 200 gh/s)
0.00551666666666666666666666666667 lower than your .0064. Also if OC'ed
btc/hash(.993/200) Even lower at: 0.004965

Been seeing threads of if pbminer is legit... Looks like legit but idk, will wait for more feedback. 5 year contracts seem misleading unless you can add hash, as we all know of the dreaded difficulty increase xD
You can add hash anytime as long as they have GHs in stock. They sell out frequently but you don't usually have to wait for more than a couple of days until they add more. Oh okay. Then like your sig, cloud mining is finally cheaper than hardware! Wow, thats quite a game-changer, won't have to wait on preorders!

So people are living too fast today or they simply don't know anymore what is good in life?
Aren't you supposed to answer the question above with another question?

MY definition of an ASIC is when it beats a GPU at two ratios : $/hash and hash/watt Lets take a look: Gridseeds, 165 @ 360 kh/s (more like 300 kh/s, you doing some overclock on them) $/hash (165/360) : 0.45833333333333333333333333333333 hash/watt (360/7) : 51.428571428571428571428571428571 I decided not to go with r9 290, as at inflated prices right now, gridseed is an "ASIC" but take a look at r9 270 at $180 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127769$/hash (180/450) : 0.4hash/ watt (450/150) : 3 So as seen here, gridseed still does not beat the crucial $/hash ration that GPU's are so good at. In a couple months though, KNC miner's 250 mh/s @ astonishing $.04 kh/s, GPU is dead ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

It seems like PB mining has the lowest btc/gh/s ratio and offer 5 year mining contracts so if you want a set it and forget it solution, here you go. I do not recommend the 5 year contract unless you plan on adding hash rate because xxx hash doesn't stay relevant long in the game of mining...

Quite possibly, but who has the time to figure that out?
But who has the time, is able to do it? I don't know, isn't that what I asked?

Since all you have to do is listen to a stream, do you have to call in? I mean, you could like just tune in on your PC like a twitch live stream or no?

I'd rather go for scrypt. You could buy a gpu and start mining ltc. For now, there are no asics out so they still remain rentable as far as I know
Um what? No Scrypt ASICs? Ever heard of Gridseed? thoes aren't true scrypt ASICS as ASICS stand for application specific integrated circuit. And since gridseed can do sha256, they're not really ASICS now are they?

I guess there is just a certain allure to owning your own miner, and having total control of a physical piece of hardware. I have see different cloud mining websites, and was wondering if https://cex.io/ is a decent one. All cloud mining sites IMO are more expensive than purchasing "shares" of hash. If the premium of cloud hashing justifies less hash/$, not paying for electricity, no noise or heat, etc... Be my guest. But yeah I guess there is an allure to being able to say "yeah im a miner, look at my cool ASICS".

to measure heart rate, we would have a heart measuring device to measure pain, a pain measure device? I dont know if such device exists yet. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov%2Fpmc%2Farticles%2FPMC3045648%2Fbin%2Fnihms259049f1.jpg&t=663&c=EYW4mFC_O-2Iug) source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3045648/given an image however, it would be easy to convert into a scale. Of course there would be a calibration step. Do you plan on making such device? Haha no... It kinda would be nice to have your name immortalized into a measure of units such as watts and joules to name a couple ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

MOST of the time you mention BTC or even LTC, you get blank stares. Since the OP said attempting mass adoption, Noblecoin would be a good answer as they're getting a ton of exposure no?
Heh, true... although a decent number of people do know about BTC now. LTC... not really. As for Noblecoin attempting mass adoption, I should have been clearer in my post. They are attempting a greater level of adoption, but I wouldn't view their marketplace really as part of some form of mass adoption. It's a great idea, but a bit too small scale to be considered 'mass'. But yep, they would fall under one of the coins at least attempting mass adoption, hence why I included them on my list. I thought by your post that you meant they were already achieving some form of mass adoption, but they have quite a ways to go for that. Glad we could clarify ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) And haha no sir, no coins have achieved mass adoption yet. My definition of mass adoption is when a thief asks for your private key xD

Let me preface this with saying that I am a young bitcoin miner, which means that I don't necessarily have that much cash to throw around. I have been mining or otherwise following bitcoin for over a year now, and am thinking about getting an asic miner. I was looking at the AntMiner S1 asics and had a couple questions. I was looking at buying two AntMiner S1s and a power supply for $1000 (suing all of my money) and mining with them overclocked to 200 each. I know that when I plug all the data into a mining calculator ( http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ to be precise) that it says I will break even in about 78 days. I was just wondering if there are any hidden problems (aside from bitcoins fluctuation in value) that would prevent me from making my money back. Any response is greatly appreciated, and I thank you for your time. May the blocks be ever in your favor! Difficulty rising basically by 15% every 14 days? Better off: A. Buying coins (especially now, BTC is in the gutter) B. Investing the money into securities such as PETA, or Bit. Mine C. Leasing your rigs such as like : http://leaserig.net/index.jsp

Prepare for a flame war OP from vertcoin followers, and x11 followers.
I like the following algo's:
x11: less heat and electricity, ASIC resistant for the fact that no ASIC has been made for it, but will probably be easy to make, as in order to be a SHA-3 Canidate, It is required that an ASIC is possible to make for it
blake256: 3x faster than sha256, encourages ASICS as higher difficulty just secures network.
Keccak - IDK, just higher hash rate I guess.
Groestl - Same as x11, the heat and electricity part.
Whatever algo heavycoin is on - ditto reasons to groestl.
