Very tempting project.
But is it safe?
Definitely safe. The most modern protocols are used here.
You do not have to worry about it.
How do they find new people?
The project is not very well known.
Good question.
I think that people who are already taking part are telling their friends. And so the project is filled.
I also think so, there are no other options.
How long have you been involved?
From the first round.
Are you already involved or are you just planning?
I'm just getting to know.
Some friends try to dissuade me, so I have not decided yet.
Thoroughly analyze everything.
The project is really interesting and not very complicated. You just need to understand it.

It's normal there's a bug in the code, markets will be unfrozen when we solved it. And yes there may be a future for SC.

Quantum sorry, I have so much messages everywhere I'm having a hard time handling all this at the same time. So posting here so everyone may see what's happening.

@gorillajam

Fuck you very much.

Looks like madalieninvader is dev, and dev is Shimal

Honestly, if dev is not the guy, why not just public identify.

Give me your name, address, date of birth and occupation first. Throw in a DNA sample too if you want.

Why no public identity? Do you see how people are on this forum??? It's pretty obvious why most of us want to remain anonymous.

Look at the ideas, with good devs we can fix the current issues and implement all the ideas we got all along.

Good things seems to be coming, we got new partners coming in, Silkcoin is not dead!

As for the name no once again we're not coinmart and all those and not the poor guy you linked to.. This is pretty obvious.

What are you talking about? There's nothing illegal here. No ipo no nothing and we did not sell at 8k sat when you were all selling !

Guys, don't panic we may still have a chance.

A lot of people are still ready to support silkcoin including me. And look at the plan, it's the best in all crypto and we can do it with proper devs!
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 24, 2014, 03:41:58 PM
I don't have the skills to code silkcoin..
As I told you one dev remains + me, he's not the best of them (can't find the confirm error...).

I'm okay for escrow as long as we have a future. Just need to find who.

I also just received a text from the remaining dev telling me someone called him to talk about helping silkcoin with proper organisation and coders. I'll keep you informed I will call him now.

ANY dev interested in working for silkcoin PLEASE CONTACT ME
We don't have a LOT to pay, but still a bit.
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 24, 2014, 03:31:41 PM
Judge is not on the dev team...
As for the BTC I can give you the address so you see I reinvest in silkcoin. I'm actively seeking new devs.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 24, 2014, 03:24:54 PM
As I told you the premine was divided between the devs, I sold my part for 8btc I can show you the wallet and I'm ready to reinvest it in Silkcoin. And judgecrypto was not on the dev team.
So what do we do now? We need good devs and fast..
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 24, 2014, 03:15:10 PM
Well for starters, I lost money with all I invested. But this coin is not dead if we can fix the problems and continue with the plan. The plan was good.
636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 24, 2014, 03:13:02 PM

I'm ready to hear any solution you have in mind, but first there's this 0 confirmation issue we NEED to solve and I can't.

Update about the current situation :

We posted no official statements here first of all. I have some very bad news..

I was very busy the last 2 days because 3 of the devs left the team. We are now only two left and it's impossible that we respect the timeframe without the help of other devs. We also discovered a big bug, the second the community will know about this it will be dump time.

They left because of a few big issues : they felt their work was not recognized for the last week they've been talking about that and the fud and the price crashing, they threatened to leave more then once.

But the main reason is we found 3 days ago a big flaw in the code. Fudders were right those devs were clumsy in their way of working, I just had neither the time neither the skills to check everything...

The private key problem raised my concerns since yes they were right, how could the dev do such an error? that's why I checked everything in the wallet and the code and I found out an enormous bug: transactions get confirmed à 0 confirms. This is a VERY BIG issue, they tried everything to fix it, without success and I have no news since more than 12 hours. You can try it in the wallet, 0 confirms. I spent all night trying to fix this and trying to find a solution.

I am not a dev myself, well I know how to code so I can check the overall code but can't code the eco-system or even advanced functions in the wallet.. Neither can I fix this bug. So really here I don't know what to do, no money left either as we had a LOT of expenses and never sold a single SC.

I'm deeply sorry, you know this was never the intent of this coin if it was I would've sold the premine at 8k sat.

We paid everything we owed all along including the occulus and everyone in time, and never touched the premine..
All devs took a part of the premine when they left since the wallet was shared, which was worth amost nothing compared to our costs since no buy orders were there to cover all the costs we had.

So I really don't know what to do no devs left except for me, I have ~8btc to reinvest in Silkcoin so I'm currently seeking some paid dev to continue this project.
Everyone learn this news at the same time... Once again sorry and I'm willing to find a solution with you all.

Mistakes happen, and as I told you even when we saw it we never considered it as a flaw. To tell you the truth I can't remember exactly when we saw it but I remember we did'nt really care since it had 0 implication and we had a lot more problems to deal with.
Anyway is it really worth talking about it for hours? Once again no we don't think this is a "basic element", not a flaw, and no it wasn't a priority at launch since we had a lot of other issues to deal with, as an example testing if we could integrate the eco-system in the BC code since it was planned from start.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 22, 2014, 12:23:41 PM
We are 5 devs working on the code, at launch one of them looked the part of the address but since he's not used to Base58 encoding he checked https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Base58Check_encoding and thought 25 would be S. Remember we are multiple devs working on the code.
Regarding your coment cryptodevil, how can you say the first letter of the public key is the engine Wink?

We discovered it pretty soon, but what implication does this have? None. On the other hand would you really think it would be a good idea to change the address formatting after launch? No.
Anyway, how can anyone call this a problem? We have bigger problems to deal with, and if this is the only criticism you can make over Silk, well we're happy.

On other news, seeing the last nights dumps we will try to include the built-in exchanger in tomorrow's update to boost up confidence a bit in the market.
We are also trying our best to finish the revision of the paper as soon as possible. I hope you still liked the present released infos Wink.

Last thing, we are thinking about moving the thread to a self-mod thread. I was against that idea at first but seeing it's becoming impossible to have a civilized discussion/debate here because of the FUD & co we feel this our only option.
