621  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 04, 2023, 09:40:38 PM
The last time I wrote on this thread, I anticipated 40k and Bitcoin has successfully done it and we are expecting that it should form a strong support at 40k to proceed from there.

Actually I was waiting for a price poll mate as what have done in the past but yeah this is the best and practical way to ask  ..

    - Price will at least reach 40k-45k $ before December Ends.
This has already accomplished and it has been heavily anticipated for a very long time and it has happened now. I do not think that bitcoin will exceed 45k this year.

Quote
   - 2024 will end with smile in our faces .
This is happening and based on the long term plan when bitcoin was at 15k this year. Bitcoin is wonderful.

Quote
   - December will be the great month of this Year
December used to have a red phase. People tend to withdraw bitcoin for festivals, it will not be all green throughout.

623  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im TIRED of SCAM exchanges - is there an verified list on: December 03, 2023, 01:08:44 PM
Hello Guys,

im tired of this SCAM exchanges theres full of them out there..  you just cant trust anyone nowadays

is there somekind of list with legit - verified exchanges where the list is constantly updating if there is some bad news happening ore withdrawls getting delayed etc..

does anyone know if this exchanges operate and are thrustworthy:

https://lexmo.com
https://hitbtc.com
https://latoken.com/
https://www.coinw.com/

thanks
What could be the reason that people go for unpopular and unreliable exchanges. Maybe exchanges that are very new and unrelated. Could it be that they offer some irresistible offers or what?
Could it be that the have good trading pair or maybe the do not KYC. I really want to know why people will leave some reputable and established exchanges to patronise relatively new and likely scam exchanges.
624  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exchanges' market prices synchronization on: December 03, 2023, 12:53:55 PM
Not something to ponder much because the tolerance is still large which is the reason for arbitration. If there was no difference to enable arbitration, then I would have thought much about the synchronization algorithm.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you sell your bitcoin to blackrock? on: December 03, 2023, 11:55:25 AM
Imagine a situation where you own a house and a piece of land it's built on. You estimated the value of the whole thing to be $500k. One day someone knocks on your door and offers you $2m all of a sudden. Will you sell or suspect they know more than you? Maybe there's an oil deposit underneath your house? Maybe there's geothermal energy source? Maybe an international company has plans to build a facility nearby and will need your land for whatever price?

I'm asking this because if the funds get approved all at once there will be a large pressure on bitcoin's price and supply is, as we all know, limited.
Nobody buys bitcoin to sell it cheaper, so if they offer you $100k, they think it will go higher. If they offer $1m it's again going to go higher according to them.
Will you simply give it away once someone hands you $100k, or decide that it's cheap and they know more than they're willing to share?

Let me answer this way;
If I bought a land in an island and built on the land just because of the river. Maybe I like seeing river every morning that I wake. If you come to buy the house with so much money, I will only sell if there is availability island elsewhere, to build. But, if that my house location happens to be the last island, I will not sell the land and house.

Relate same to bitcoin. If BlackRock wants to buy my bitcoin at $100k, I will only sell if there is a means to rebuy bitcoin whenever I want, otherwise I am not selling.

The above scenario is for a rich man. A man who is not rich, who manages to buy a land of $2k and suddenly sees a buyer with $20k, he will quickly sell without much thoughts.
626  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Spanish citizens to declare foreign crypto holdings by end of March 2024 on: December 03, 2023, 11:27:04 AM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/spanish-citizens-declare-foreign-crypto-holdings-end-march
"Only individuals with balance sheets exceeding the equivalent of 50,000 euros in crypto assets are obliged to declare their foreign holdings.
Spanish residents holding any crypto assets on non-Spanish platforms will have to declare them by March 31, 2024, under new laws governing the taxation of virtual assets.

The Spanish Tax Administration Agency, commonly known as Agencia Tributaria, has published form 721, a tax declaration form for virtual assets abroad, which was first announced in the Boletín Oficial del Estado, the Kingdom of Spain’s official state gazette, on July 29, 2023."
And this is the sad reality, regulation is here. There's nothing anyone else can do about this.
  • Spanish citizens to declare foreign assets
  • USA winning against CZ
  • Countries like Philippine banning Binance
  • Theymos banning mixer campaigns
  • Kraken handling over data to IRS
  • LN having issues in Europe
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zugacoin vs bitcoin. on: December 03, 2023, 11:09:55 AM
People with common sense will know that if you were promoting shit scam token which was only being traded on the garbage pancake swap. There's no need to mention the shit scam coin to be compared with the most legit coin in the crypto market.
You are obviously a part of them. Zuga was a shit scam dead coin. Is there a sense thing to mention that scam token to be compared with bitcoin? Im very often seeing this kind of promotion being used by stupid bots owned or worked under the developer of scam coins.
None knew what zuga coin is .

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/zugacoin/

It's a complete dead coin. Are you a part of zuga coin team?  Shocked Grin
I was surprised when I saw the heading as Zugacoin Vs Bitcoin. As long as I know, there's no coin in the cryptocurrency industry that is worthy to stand head to head with BTC. It is always Bitcoin Vs Altcoins and not a single altcoin.
Meanwhile, I have heard about this Zugacoin once or twice in the past years, I least expected anyone to mention Zugacoin again in 2023.
If there's any lesson to derive from the said Zugacoin which fell from hundreds to decimals, it is that the legitimacy of a coin is not determined the the price. As price is easily manipulated.
628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing altcoins now or during halving? on: December 03, 2023, 10:30:54 AM
Currently Altcoins are start growing and crypto market condition is pretty good as every where is green. And many of us expected that, bull will come soon and so people already start analysis for which altcoins should buy and could be best investment for bull run. But as we know, market goes a little down when it comes to BTC Halving, which will be happened probably on 24th april, 2024.
So are you going to pick your altcoins Now??  Or During/After BTC Halving while you can buy altcoins with low price?

Well, before I will answer your question, I just visited Binance app today and checked the number of coins on gains and the percentage and check the number of new listings and I discovered that almost all the new listings were on gains. I just wished I learnt to standard how to trade. I believe that this period is the period that day traders will gain. If I know how to enter and when to exit, I could play around with some USDT.

Talking about when to buy altcoins, now or later when halving is nearer. I believe the most important thing is to know how halving affects altcoins and which coins have greater chances. The coins that witnessed halving before or the ones that were created recently.
629  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Goodbye Philippines for Binance. on: December 03, 2023, 09:17:02 AM
The Philippine government's decision through the SEC to block Binance's access is good. They operate in a country to make a profit while they are not registered there. All countries do not want this situation to continue without generating profits through Binance operations. Binance is not registered, so Binance does not pay taxes.

Lately, I have began to understand the level of smartness (maybe unnecessary), that CZ played to gain so much popularity for his Binance. How can you actively generate money from a particular country and you pay no tax, no registration and no way to give back to the society. It is fraudulent. Maybe, so many countries will stand up and take same measures and then Binance will suffer in the end.

Blocking access to Binance could benefit local exchanges there, although I don't know for sure there is a local exchange there.
Traders who are already familiar with Binance will feel lost because Binance is a good exchange. Even though Binance is already popular, if it is not mutually beneficial, why maintain it.
Even if there were no local exchanges in the country, with the exit of binance other exchanges will surface. The major issue the people will face is scam. This is because many scam exchanges will surface to steal people's money. But to any genuine local exchange, this is an opportunity to penetrate the country.
630  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What I would do if I owned a bitcoin mixing service on: December 03, 2023, 08:46:09 AM
If I owned a bitcoin mixing service, and since Bitcoin mixing services have been banned from being promoted on this forum, in other to keep promoting my service on this forum, I would build a really good  bitcoin wallet with lots of features, and include bitcoin mixing service as one of the features, but this particular feature will be hidden in the wallet, and to access it, I will come up with a trick.

That defeats the whole purpose of using a mixer since now people's addresses can be directly identified as belonging to the mixer.

I think that if mixers simply pivot to running a coordinator, the damage will not be so bad, since nobody has to do an advertisement for coordinators anyway, they are just added to compatible wallet software.

I believe OP didn't read theymos announcement on the purported mixer ban. Assuming he did, he would understand that theymos already captured his idea in the announcement post. See this;
Quote
     b. If a site is not primarily a mixer but has a mixer function, such as a mixer function on a gambling website, then the whole site is considered a mixer.
There's no good way for mixers to operate without being the mixer they need to be. Any other attempt will jeopardize the whole essence of mixing.
631  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Indian crypto trading volumes slump following hefty taxes on: December 03, 2023, 08:22:45 AM
I see no reason why laws will also target what seems to be solution just to get resources out of a gradually developing space.

This is the sad reality. I see no reason a country like India will try to implement this kind of policy. I have come to realise that the only way to get going in the cryptocurrency industry by the government is to handle or regulate cryptocurrency as it concerns your country and not necessarily adopting what other countries do. Indian was supposed to give crypto a soft landing and not the other way round.

The tax will be in effect for three months as a test to determine the impact it has on the market. While trading volumes are low now, policymakers want to see its results for a longer timeframe.

This might indirect mean that some trading firms might purposely want to stay off the market for the period of 3 months in order to keep the trading volume on low still. This is possible and understandable.
632  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 03, 2023, 08:00:49 AM
This coming December, there will be an even greater uptrend in the market since we are obviously still in a bullish trend in reality. This month of November ended without much movement in the price movement of Bitcoin; it almost only played between 35k and 38k of Bitcoin in the market.

But this December, I can really see in the first week of this that it is possible to immediately play 40k-43k this week, and from what I see, it is quite good to go along before there is a correction or liquidation in my analysis.
Do not forget that in the history of December, it has never being a sweet green month all through. I can say that the bullish trend we are witnessing in the first days of December, is the overdue bullish trend that was supposed to occur in November but was postponed because of some undesirable news as CZ resignation as the CEO of Binance. That news was supposed to make a very much deeper impact in the market but it was overwhelmed by the bullish trend of November and it's effect was only felt with 48hrs.

So, this December is not and can never be a green month all through. I think history has it too that some persons are gonna sell their holdings for end year celebrations.
633  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 02, 2023, 11:07:47 PM
I believe that the price of bitcoin will at least hit $40k in December. It is unlikely that any price higher than that will occur in the last weeks of the year. For now, at least, the cost of a bitcoin is more than $38k. In the remaining weeks of the year, there's a chance that the price of bitcoin may fluctuate, ideally between $38k-$40k

Since the price of bitcoin didn't correct this year and there are still a few weeks left in the year, I think the correction of bitcoin price will happen next year not this year again
I decided on my own to make a history by watching the bitcoin price hit $40k. For over 4 hrs I have been watching the price to bit $40k but to no avail. Now my eyes are weak, I want to sleep. Maybe the price will be at $40k+ when I will wake. It is not that I have a running trade, but I just wanted the price to hit $40k while I watch the screen.

Bitcoin is just a golden opportunity to be wealthy and I think I have missed this opportunity for a while. Although not so long because the only bull run I have witnessed is 2021 and I didn't enjoy it because I was a newbie without experience. I still remember that I had alot of spear money I wasn't using this year when bitcoin was at the range of $15k, look at bitcoin going to $40k now. This is a golden opportunity to be rich.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 02, 2023, 09:00:27 PM
NEWCASTLE UNITED VS MANCHESTER UNITED HT ANALYSIS

It wasn't a good performance first half for Manchester United as the home team outplayed them in all ramifications. My team Manchester United has not being in their best performance since this season started and I do not actually know when it will stop. The first half ending goalless is a testimony for Erik Ten Hang and his boys.

Saying about Manchester United fixturing, I do blame Erik in some part and I also do not blame him in another part. I do not blame him in the defence because he doesn't have majority of the defenders to choose from. But I wonder why he decided to bench Varane and play both Shaw and Dallot off wing.
Talking about the midfield, paring inexperienced Mainoo and MC Tom is not the best idea. Tom joined the attack and thereby letting the midfield collapse miserably. Amrabat should have been there to help the defence. Does Rashford deserve to remain in this match?
635  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 02, 2023, 11:43:56 AM
Several people seem to be concerned that the current policy will be too disruptive/constraining. How about I make this modification to loosen it a bit: you can direct people to mixers by name (even in something like a "top 10 mixers" topic), as long as:
 - You don't directly post their URLs.
 - It's not a paid ad, and you're not representing a mixer.

Would this be sufficient to address the concerns?
A bit lenient, but trust me, this will cause a bigger confusion.
By next year, many newbies will be banned for sharing mixers link, and they will be confused as to why, when seeing others discuss mixers.
It will not be easy to explain to newbies the extent to get involved with the mixers in the forum.

Let a welcome message to newbies read thus;
"Welcome to the forum, avoid plagerism and avoid discussing or promoting mixers"
If the tension is calm in the side of the authorities, you could reconsider your decision of mixers ban.
636  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 01, 2023, 11:56:13 PM

BTW, why aren't these authorities harassing banks for money laundering too if their claim of seizing mixers is to prevent money laundering? I know what theymos is trying to do here is taking a preventive measure to save the forum but I also know that this isn't likely going to be the last of government wanting more grounds to be shifted.

This is, indeed, sad.

Well, I really do not think that theymos care about money laundering through banks and neither does he care when it happens through bitcoin.
Honestly, theymos also may not care much if the forum is taken down or not. But according to his statement, it seems he really cares much about me and you, which is the reason for the proposed mixer ban.
Imagine that Abcmixer did a fraudulent transaction with an address, launches a campaign on bitcointalk, uses same address to pay upto 50 participants of the campaign. FBI uncovers them, link more than 30 addresses belonging to the bitcointalk members to Abcmixer. The 30 participants are automatic culprits or accomplice. It will take more than 10 tons of efforts to convince FBI that you are a mere promoter of the mixer.
637  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 01, 2023, 01:25:44 PM
This announcement isn't a surprise to me. I suspected that theymos will do this long ago. I got a clue of this when one staff member revealed that theymos instructed the staff and moderators not to participate in mixer campaigns. It was then I knew that the days of mixers are numbered in here.

Where else will mixers advertise? I mean where do they advertise apart from the forum. Darknet?

638  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Only Sell what you don't need. on: November 30, 2023, 05:28:46 PM
After reading Op, I smiled... This is because I have tried to understand bitcoin and I will tell you that bitcoin is to different people different things.
To some people, bitcoin is a safe haven for investment and those are the set of people that invests their life savings or retirement fund into bitcoin.
To some other people, bitcoin is just a bubble that might burst tomorrow. So, they hastily want to take profit because it will end like a Ponzi scheme.
There are others who obey the rule of investing what you are able to lose with the DCA method.
Some don't even mind if they gain or lose in Bitcoin, they just want to holave enough bitcoin today, maybe bitcoin can value $1M tomorrow.

    • A newbie with little efforts will earn merits easily than an established member
I think I disagree with this as I believe the opposite is the reality. Newbies are easily viewed from the angle of merit farming even when their intention might just be to contribute to discussion. When they put so much efforts to impress, they might likely be seen as desperate. I have not done a large sample size but doing a little check on the topics that receive merits, you will those from newbies are very small compared to those of older members. This is expected anyways because the quality of the post of the newbies will definitely be lower than those of the experienced guys.
Note: my comment is entirely my opinion, I can be wrong.

    I appreciate your opinion, and believe me, your opinion is totally realistic. I understand from your angle of reasoning, which is;
Many people are skeptical of sending merits to newbies, they might believe it is an alt account or a part of account farm as you said. But also when the body language of the said newbie is positive, there are good chances of rapid growth.

What I meant by newbie recieving merits with little efforts is that, a newbie discuss something about LN stands a chance of being merited than me discussing same topic. Every newbie account is invariably regarded as a novice account, even if someone behind it is knowledgeable.[/list]

    Enjoy being a newbie
No matter how weird this might sound, there are alot of things that newbies enjoy which established members may never enjoy.
    • A newbie can quote wrongly and can only be corrected.
    • A newbie with little efforts will earn merits easily than an established member
    • A newbie has more chances of conducting research as the course of learning
Newbies have alot of freedom to tour and enjoy the forum except the freedom to copy and paste other people's work.
